I visited this bakery and was very impressed. As a vegetarian it was great to see all the bakes on display marked as to whether they were suitable or not and everything I tasted was fresh and delicious. Would definitely recommend!

After a lovely morning out in Whitby, went by the bakery to get some rolls. Must have been about 2 ish. They didn't have any rolls then someone shouted thar there were 6 behind the counter. Long story short, when I came to pay, they were drenched by the assistant. This woman should not ever be working in front of customers. She was rude, dismissive and became even worse when I said the rolls were wet. She literally barked at me that her hands were wet when she put them in the bag. This womans attitude and behaviour is absolutely beyond me. I left after paying and noticed some lovely crispy baguettes in the front window, so I went back in...... the same woman was bitching about me to a woman doing what looked like a stocktake. I pointed out that I was still there and told her how rude and ignorant she was and should never be serving customers with such an attitude. Customer care is exceptionally important to me and I am sorry but I will never again shop there. The lady doing the stock take was wonderful and very polite and apologised obo her ignorant staff member (who incidentally said the stock take lady was the manager and was quite rightly corrected by colleague.) I am awaiting a response from the Manager who I believe is in the shop this Thursday. It goes without saying that this staff member was not only out of her depth, she was extremely overweight and was physically struggling in the heat of the day. (I'm a big person myself so I feel able to call this woman out for her slovenliness) I.e. picking up fresh rolls with dripping wet hands and expecting me to be ok with that.....Sorry but thats not happening.

Just as good as any other Thomas the Baker, great quality produce and very affordable prices! I always find the staff friendly and this place is no exception :)

Very reasonably priced baked goods. Fabulous Yorkshire curd tarts.

We normally love this bakery, but this time there were so many wasps crawling all over the food! It really looked disgusting!! I'm sure someone will tell me that they are nothing to be concerned about, but there were dozens of them inside and in the window on all the bakery items. Really put us off.

Used this almost daily while staying in the area this year and last year. Got sandwiches and cakes for our picnics and sausage, bacon, eggs for our breakfasts. Great choice of fresh breads too.

Happy to see Thomas in the Main Street and thought I’d try the Eccles cakes, for the hundredth time. Plus the sausage rolls and scones. Love this place in different locations for our comfort food.

Excellent small local baker. Good range of vegan options, clearly labelled. Get there early for best selection! Highly recommended.

You can't choose your sandwich filling and certain staff members are pretty unhelpful. If you can see a Cooplands or Greggs I'd walk the extra distance

Staying within walking distance and used it for our lunchtime picnic while out walking. Filled rolls, curd tarts and oatey cookies. All very good.

Very good bakery thay have shops all over North Yorkshire. They do very good bread and other confectionery. Do sandwiches, pies and sausage rolls etc. The sandwiches are good and very good at the Kirkby moorside shop.

Was about to go inside this shop to purchase bread when two of the staff were playing with the bread and an unwrapped loaf of bread. She hit him with broom, he dropped the bread on floor, she hit with broom across floor, he picked it up and put back on display for someone to purchase without knowing that their loaf had been swept along the floor. We didn’t go inside after witnessing this act.

We stopped here to grab some local produce needing a quick late lunch snack after a long journey. Their offerings were very tasty and the girl that served me was very helpful.

Called in here a couple of times while passing, the food is consistently just above average, but the attitude of the staff has been abysmal every time, most times with barely a grunt or nothing at all by way of a thank you, food plonked down on the counter in a huff, just general rudeness and ignorance, really. Very poor customer experience. Won't be going back

This is a chain of bakeries in North Yorkshire. The food is so fresh and tasty. Great place to pick up some picnic food then go explore the local area.

The bakery & its products are excellent. The staff are always warm & welcoming & happy to help. The shop displays a mouthwatering temptation of breads & cakes in the windows & interior displays. Freshly prepared sandwiches of an amazingly high standard are available daily. The aroma of freshly baked bread & treats always tempts folk into the shop. The artisan breads are particularly delicious. Kirkbymoorside is very lucky to have such a lovely little bakery.

I like Thomas's has food I would eat.

En Route to another destination, we called in the village looking for such a shop so we could buy our picnic treats for later. Excellent service provided by a young girl sales assistant, the food was nice (when we ate it later) and reasonably priced and the shop layout was very clean and presentable. If you are looking for fast food to go, then this is the place to visit, no complaints from us, highly recommended for this type of food.
