Thank you Malton Relish for making us feel so at home. The coffee is gorgeous and the cakes are amazing. My dogs really enjoyed the meat cuts too. The girls are all very chatty and friendly. They go above and beyond. Thank you.

Popped in for lunch while in the town on holiday.Hubby had the bacon and brie sandwich and I had ham & cheese omelette .Cafe was busy with locals and people popping in to get stuff from the deli counter .Staff were welcoming and efficient .Good portions and very tasty .Dog friendly too slthough didnt have one with us .Yummy and would recommend

On arrival, very friendly staff, lovely looking array of cakes, pies and treats galore. Sadly the latte had no coffee and the hot choc had no chocolate. I wish cafes would make hot drinks well! Our breakfast was tasty and nice but tinned mushrooms...what is all that about!! The worst thing though is the Most disgusting toilet I have ever been to accessed via the grotty looking kitchen, I cannot believe they are happy for customers to use it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If I had been to the toilet before eating I would have left swiftly... sorry but won't be going back...

Happened upon this lovely little deli/café by accident and couldn't have been happier. We had two superb sandwiches for lunch (the roast beef was fab), chatted with the friendly staff, and enjoyed the pretty little cafe's cosy atmosphere. Our little Scottie dog even got a 'special treat' from the deli counter which made us love the place even more! Highly recommend for a tasty lunch with excellent quality ingredients.

My daughter and I called in late last Saturday morning for a coffee and some late breakfast we decided on a couple of sausage sandwiches and two latte coffee’s.The staff were worm and friendly and although the shop was busy our food was with us in no time at all we both enjoyed the sandwich’s they were outstanding and the coffee was great I will definitely be calling in again .

I ordered an espresso. Don't know what I was given but it certainly was NOT an espresso, not even a good coffee

We stopped off in Malton from Liverpool and it was a lovely atmosphere having afternoon tea the staff we’re really welcoming would definitely recommend

Visited here Saturday 15th July 2023 having just arrived in Malton. Got a table ok, extensive menu. Ordered large coffees which in our eyes were not that large as opposed to Costa and at £4.45 was too pricey. Drink was just ok not very strong. Service was ok.

Called for a latte today, the worst coffee I've ever had, disgusting and at a cost of £3.95! I did not drink it all ! And Judging by your response I’m glad I didn’t complain, I have visited most of the coffee shops in Malton and yours is the most expensive, so I think you need to get your head out of the sand. You seem to have issues with “keyboard warriors”. Using your terminology, that is unless they are singing your praises.

If I'd seen the toilets first I wouldn't have eaten here. If you can't offer a clean loo then it needs sorting. Food was expensive but round here I suppose that's normal. Gorgeous cuppa though.

Dropped in and met family while on a cycle ride. Large range of cakes and tarts on offer. Good have over half of them. My word the mango and passion fruit cake was soooo good. Recommended by the lovely lady who served us and she wasn’t wrong ! Plentiful tea to have with it. Perfect refuelling for the return ride. Thanks very much. p.s. love the reply to WK below. Great !

It's a weird place, in a good way. When my partner took me in I assumed we were going to look at antiques, as that's what they have in the window display. Imagine my surprise when I stepped into a mix of cafe and food shop. Food was great, and the server too. Being lactose intolerant they offered the appropriate milk substitute.

A sit down with a nice slice of quiche and a slice of apple and frangipan slice , all homemade and tasting like it - following up with a well made coffee

Such a cute little place with good food and good coffee. We had a party of six on a busy lunchtime but the staff were so welcoming and helpful despite the busy rush. We decided to sit outside and they were very attentive with our food and drinks. They sell amazing produce from bakery goods, deli goods right through to the most delicious cakes and desserts.

Great treacle tart and a lovely coffee. Friendly service snd lots of goodies in the delicatessen. Would go there again.

Lovely day sunny and warm To eat outside means in this cafeyou are not allowed a cup or a plate Just paper ones The excuse was customers stole or broke them !!! Final insult was the coffee was lukewarm and the small pastry was dry and impossible to eat.Having lived in France for many years such a cafe wouldnt last long Im surprised they didnt have teaspoons on chains I was astouded that customers were seen as potential thieves .and vandles. If Malton is to be seen as the centre of food excellence such a cafe .needs to change its attitude. I did a piece of market research .I asked each of the cafes with outside eating ares if they had a problem with crockery being smashed or stolen by customers It was with hilarity they responder with an emphatic never I now look with interest for evidence of smashed crockery or bulges under coates of stolen cups.

tasty snacktype food to eat in a comfortable setting with good selection of drinks. no loo though. inside or outside seating available.

We only had take out drinks. They were expensive to say they were out of a machine and not properly barista made - they were also some of the worst drinks we've ever had, hot chocolate had clearly not been checked and ran out and was like salted warm milk. Mocha was exactly the same. Looked like dish water 🤢

Came in to meet friends for coffee and cake and as they were delayed decided to have a late lunch. Best decision ever. Rare roast beef and horseradish with selection of salads. I am taking the cakes away with me lemon and poppy, gluten free carrot cake, salted caramel and chocolate. My friends missed a treat but I shall take the culinary delights to them. Thank you to the lovely staff for looking after me so well. Highly recommend this award winning Deli if visiting Malton.

Always a delight,and always delivers ! The food is always delicious,and a great variety of choice.l love going in here,very relaxing,the staff are lovely and nothing is too much trouble,the owner has a great sense of humour and is very friendly and kind,as are all the staff. Upstairs there is a quirky antique shop,which adds to the charm of the place. Whenever l go to Malton l always have lunch here,and have never been dissatisfied throughout my years of patronage. Quiet, cosy place with wonderful food. I enjoyed the mackerel pâté very much.

As we were eating out that night, we decided to share a ploughman’s. It was all lovely, loads of it (fresh ham, pork pie, cheese, pickle, bread, balsamic onions, caperberrys, boiled egg) we even got to choose the cheese from the selection of local cheeses...

My favourite deli in Malton. Great selection of treats, they do a great vegan range. My favourite is always the bakewell tarts. There is a monthly supper club which is a must for a night out in Malton.

Good toasted tea cakes, but serving tea in thick pot teapots and thick cups = cold tea. Didn’t have time to discuss as were in a hurry and needed to move on. I’d suggest either warming the pot or changing teapots and cups. A cuppa...

If I could swear here I would! I was looking for something good quality, English and tasty. We walked past the pretty shop and saw it had tables. 3 of us had lunch, cumin and roast cauliflower soup with bread and butter, gluten free sandwich...

Best coffee and if you like it you can find a packet on the shelves. Look for Baytown coffee. The daily soup is always good. Malton has the best coffee shops! Just need a loyalty card.

Always great food. I've been going here since it opened and it has to only ever improved.

We have been a few times and my husband always has a ploughman's its £12.50 but its always been good. This time it wasnt and although i think he should of complained he wouldnt. My jacket potatoe was delicious. Lets hope it improves as i love the place and food.

Had several wonderful evenings here now and can highly recommend letting the team provide you with any one of their excellent menus. We'll looked after, great food and cosy atmosphere.

I have never seen such a filthy toilet. if you are happy for customers to use the staff toilet please ensure it is hygienic to use. dust and dirt everywhere. very unpleasant.

Always a pleasure with exceptionally friendly staff. The only caveat, and this applies to quite a few places, is that if you are making a special journey telephone to make sure it is open. Their web site states open on Mondays - it isn’t.

We happened across this cafe/deli last weekend when looking for somewhere for lunch. The food was really tastey, the ambience was quirky and the atmosphere was just right! But, most noticeable was the staff! They were very patient and so hepful - giving time to...

The steak and ale pie was stuffed with real meat, no jelly or salty gravy. The Yorkshire pasty were a bit of alright too, as I was reliably informed by my wife. Quite an accolade from a Lancashire lass!

Called for coffee and cake. Brilliant selection of cakes and the cafe is very well stocked with delicious looking food. Friendly staff. You have to walk through the kitchen to get to the toilet which needs decorating and cleaning.

Brilliant food and friendly staff. Malton Relish probably has the nicest and most inviting atmosphere of any establishment of its like in Malton. Top marks.

Got extra curd tart the wife thinks it's fab. Lemon drizzle passable but the wife's is better.

We love Malton and are lucky enough to visit regularly. The Malton Relish is an absolute joy. Whether you’re stopping for a delicious lunch, looking for fantastic items to take away or treating yourself to a wonderful Christmas figgy pudding, you will not be disappointed.

If you are looking for things that you can't find anywhere else check Relish. But expect for average products that you can get elsewhere to be upcharged insanely but exclusive products to be of the best quality really well priced.

It was great to be back in a cafe in Malton after so long. I had black pudding and apple sausage roll which was amazing, the apricot flapjack was to die for. Then we had a browse of the antiques upstairs afterwards. Take care everyone, get your vaccines, it is the only way out of this nightmare.

Really nice home-made fresh food at reasonable prices. It's only a small store so not many places to queue however there is plenty to choose from while you order or wait

Warming, Friendly, Sausage rolls are worth a visit. We had the game meat the venison rolls and carrot cake & cherry rascal , all are really tasty.

Ordered the Valentines Hamper from them. It was the best looking hamper we have had delivered. The instructions on how to cook everything was all very clear and easy to follow. The food tasted amazing too, the best we have had in a long time!

First return since Covid changes. Still a warm friendly atmosphere. Slight layout change but the food and hospitality are as good as ever. I had pheasant sausage roll which was superb! My husband cake and coffee deal. 2 very happy customers. Will be back shortly.

Can't comment on the food, we walked out because we were ignored by the staff who looked very miserable and unwelcoming.

We had a delightful sharing fish platter at the Malton Relish. Quantity, quality and value for money couldn’t be beaten. First class lunch with friendly, cheerful service. There aren’t many tables but if you can’t get seated there’s a wonderful deli serving food to takeaway....

The food at relish can only be described as divine. Amazing freshly made food which more than hit the spot. If I’m ever back in Malton I will come back and I cant recommend the sausage rolls enough The staff are all friendly and helpful And it’s a very nicely decorated cafe.

Great cup of tea and flapjack, takes cash and great friendly staff, cycle friendly too with social distanced seating outside... Thoroughly recommend...

Visited Malton Relish for lunch and was truly spoilt for choice with the array of goodies behind the deli counter. In the end I opted for a delicious home made lamb samosa, accompanied by a selection of salads, all made in house - sprouts & preserved lemon; beetroot, tahaini & dill; lentils, roast squash & stilton - all great! I polished off a fab piece of curd tart and washed it all off with a great cup of coffee. Definitely a destination for any foodie!Not just a good venue to eat in, the deli also has a large selection of take-home goods and a brilliant "grab & go" cheese counter.

Have had the pleasure of eating in Malton Relish on a number of occasions and have never been disappointed. Our recent lunch was so tasty and the salads so imaginative. While there we also bought some fantastic cheese to take home form the huge and interesting selection. It was delicious. Next time we are in Malton we will certainly call in again.

ordered a speciality vegan type bread...went to collect on said day ..but told no we dont have any...no apology no nothing..wouldnt care if id just walked in on off chance but i turned up on day i was told it wold be there for me...such a shame...

Lovely place and fantastic fresh food. I went for the ploughman's lunch and they were really accomodating and swapped the bread for gluten free bread for me. All the food was really tasty and the staff friendly. If we didn't live in Sheffield we'd be there every week!

A year ago we bought a container full of frozen lamb tagine from Malton Relish which was wonderful!!! Back in the area today, we bought another. This turned out to be 50% tasteless sludge with little meat and 50% cous cous which we could have provided for ourselves for a few pence!! We shall not return!!!

Lovely food. Can eat in-house or take away. Interesting selection of food and drink items for sale. Moderately expensive.

The cafe was quirky and produce looked of a high standard. We enjoyed our tea and cake but the toilet facilities were a big concern. Having to use public toilets down the road was unacceptable and the thought of staff toilets, which customers could use on request, behind serving area was quite off putting. As previous reviews have said, how is this legal or hygienic in this day and age?It is a shame because otherwise could have enjoyed and recommended this place.

We visited Malton Relish last summer and went again last week a couple of times. It is still very friendly and the food of good quality. The yorkshire curd tart, which I had never eaten before, was fabulous. Love that it is dog friendly as is most of Malton. We also bought an upcycled magazine rack/side table from the antique section upstairs. There are tables outside too but dogs are allowed inside as well. They also have a very well stocked array of delicatessen items to buy.

Quite pricey despite the fact we struggled to find anything that we liked. But an interesting place to visit and perhaps the fact that they were closing early affected the menu choices?

Be warned. Be afraid for your life. Behind the counter lurks at least four staff that only seem to come out when there isn’t a queue waiting to be served - a bit like Catch 22 - And behind the glass where the food is, hovers a huge black lazy fly, doing figure of eight flypasts over the food. I saw staff who were completely oblivious of hygiene happily stroking customers dogs, I saw staff ignoring hot food waiting to go out to customers, staff disappearing instead of serving, I saw (sadly after ordering and paying) lots of grubby debris under the cushions where I sat! I was appalled and astounded and just wanted to leave. This place obviously sits on it’s laurels. Would someone please tell me where I go to report this “eatery”?Not recommended Never.

Staff are appalling. The food was good but the hygiene knowledge and competence was so below standard I would never go there again. And don't mention "toilet".

A left handed crocodile would have been hired as manager at this cafe. Our table was littered with empty cups the entire time we sat there as the monotasking waitress was incapable of using an empty tray for its designed purpose. Would recommend as a realistic simulation of being inside a loaded dishwasher.
