Ok for a local pub Nice staff very friendly. Beer and cider always good Only had food a few times It's ok but nothing special. Just pub grub New opening times so please check as winter hours now apply

Came here for a quick Bite to eat and shelter from the rain. Very polite staff 🤍 We paid £2 for some onion rings. Tell me why we were served three ? Two great British pounds for three onion rings? That’s 66p a ring! In this economy? Such a rip off should be illegal, but then again, this is Wells… I’m disappointed but not surprised. Let’s hope that in an effort to cut corners, this pub doesn’t cut rings for anyone else anytime soon- because seriously, how do you expect any enjoyer of the onion ring to ever respect such an establishment again. Let me end this review on a final note. In a world where it is 66p an onion ring, perhaps it’s time we look in on ourselves, reflect, and ask ourselves how we could let this happen. (Pictured is the bowl the onion rings came in, empty as we did NOT struggle to finish them.)

Have been here now 5 time rhe first 4 time service was slow but friendly and helpful, food was good, and atmosphere was calm yet fun. Last visit everything was very poor. They did give discount for the food mess-up and where very apologetics.

Not very good at all .this pub has gone down hill

Toilets are a major issue with this establishment. They constantly breakdown and need a major repair to prevent further closure. The problem has been the yeomans fault for some time now. Outside could do with a major refurb,it looks very used/battered and does not have a good reflection on the pub, I would assume it voids passers coming in,which no establishment can afford in this day and age. Tom and his staff are professional and are pleased to help you all the time.

Good value for money pub, there was a slight issue with our food which was my own fault but the staff were so great with us to rectify the issue.

The food is great though it takes A LOT to come through. The atmosphere is okish but lots of drunk people around unfortunately. I'd still recommend it as it's quite cheap and the food quality is pretty good :)

Popped in with a friend, newly moved to the area so wanting to try out places, met the manager Tom who was lovely and accommodating! Our meal was lush 💕 look forward to trying something else soon 😋 Will definitely return soon with my partner - love the little alcove seating 🩷

Lovely pub. Great atmosphere for families to enjoy. Regularly use this pub to eat prior to going to the theatre on our trips up from deepest Somerset.Normally very good as posted previously but....on this occasion not so good ....my sizzler was good but my partners steak and chicken combo was poor.Steak flavourless...onion rings barely cooked and anemic....cheesy chips were a quick squirt of american bottled cheese ...starter served as a side no jalapeños wrong sauce. Combinations of all this gets a two star rating ...sort it out a new menu doesnt justify such poor presentation. On the plus side served in good time

Zero rate for me rubbish food and no food you want and it's all well don't bother rubbish service the chef very rude calling me brave for my meal back as uncooked same as my wife's and very insulting 0 rating from me and my wife but bar staff excellent service

I came in for dinner being as I haven’t came in here for a long time and the food was cooked to perfection and I would love to give a special mention to Nikki for always smiling and being helpful and providing a good service will definitely be returning in the near future

Once again kitchen closed, even though I booked a table this time hoping someone would contact me and let me know if there was any issues, no that would be to professional for the Yeoman so was just told by the bar man he didn't contact me because he hadn't checked the bookings, he did say after checking them that I wasn't alone as someone else had booked earlier that day and must have just gone home after seeing the sign on the bar, so no food. Don't make any arrangements to eat here as you may be unlucky. This has happened 4 times now. Kebab it is again.

Evening meal here and a couple of drinks , friendly staff large food portions and very tasty will eat here again very reasonable prices 😀

All the staff went above and beyond to make sure our Christmas lunch with all my family X11 of us was special and friendly... Lovely food.. And service excellent.. I do really like the yoman but sometimes with the food it can be a bit hit and miss my sons chips seemed under cooked and my pork belly was a bit to over cooked but the time before this when I visited the restaurant the food was amazing it was a 10/10 thats why I came back and had the same dish but wasn’t so pleased with it this time around we was a table of 6 everyone else on the table meals they were pleased with just one more thing the toilets really smell so did put me off my food i don’t know if there’s something that can be done about that as the toilets are right by the seating area but is quite a strong smell and over powering But other than that Iv gave a 7 and will be coming back just maybe sit somewhere else

Arrived at 12:10 ready for our reservation at 12:15 doors was locked someone arrived in a car and knocked the door and passed a bottle to someone on the inside, we assumed they was opening the doors, tried to go in and was then told that they are not going to be open for at least another half hour as they have a technical issue but upon looking inside there was just one lady there which looked like giving someone some medicine of some sort, we had a reservation and we had no call or email to say about the issue and neither did they call to ask why we wasn’t there or anything this is the first message recieved, every 5th December us as a family all go out for a meal as it is my mothers anniversary of her death, and ironically we actually came here last year on 5th December 2022 and again we was turned away at the door because we was told the kitchen was not open as they had no staff! So this has happened to us 2 years running on the same day now and I think the way it is handled is appalling especially as we had made a booking reservation this year.

Lovely women Adele serving us today and look forward to seeing her again soon.

I was very pleasantly surprised with the Yeoman. I have visited several times before but never eaten. The food was very good and the service was also ok. I will visit again if I'm in the area.

I'd like to leave a review of 0 stars for the service and the food but sadly, google wont let me do that. I had booked a table for 8pm, we arrived, showed them our booking confirmation and were told the kitchen was closed. I spoke to the woman who was in charge, I asked why they would allow bookings to go through on the website if the kitchen is closed at 8pm. She told me it was essentially my fault for arranging the booking in the afternoon, because she didn't check the bookings after midday. Her poor management skills shouldn't be my fault. When I asked her why she wasn't honouring the booking, she told me she was planning on reopening the kitchen, but because I was being rude to her I needed to leave. Apparently, pointing out a mistake is now classed as being rude. So yeah, I'd like to leave 0 stars because we didn't even get to try the food, and her rude and aggressive behaviour was completely unnecessary to the extent other patrons at the bar were agreeing with me. Cant comment much on the atmosphere though because we weren't there for long enough.

Wish I could give no stars bar staff are very rude and slow don’t acknowledge paying customers can really see it being another pub being turnt into flats place is a disgrace the smell from the mens toilets are disgusting would avoid at all cost

Ignorant bar staff (young lad). Had to clarify drinks three times. No after check once the meals were served and had to chase up complimentary dessert (complimentary because they messed up with first course). Plates left on table and only cleared when dessert was served. One of the cheesecakes was warm and mushy. At least we know not to return

First time I had been to The Yeoman and must say the food is appalling. Wouldn't recommend at all for food here. Staff were lovely. Its an ok place to have a drink but that's it. Such a shame the food let the place down.

Absolutely dreadful! Came in twice in the last couple of months on the way home from visiting my step daughter in hospital. Both times my wife and I were in before 8 PM and both times we were told the kitchen was shut. The second time was a Friday and we'd booked! Really unimpressed, we will not be back and will tell our friends to avoid!

Was greeted by Bradley upon arrival what a charming well mannered individual. Truly an absolute credit to the business will be back in the future.

Stop by on the off chance with no booking, really nice place. Had the jerk chicken skewers which were amazing, my partner had the pork belly Chinese style. Really really nice food, great price and Brad was really welcoming and looked after us.

Booked our Christmas meal for 7 adults and 4 children . If I could give it zero stars I would .Our main meals were full of water turkey you could ring it out all food was all cold portions were small . What was supposed to be a special occasion turned in to a nightmare our kids were distressed and hungry . We complained and only get £90 back which is disgusting. I will be taking this further as they should no be serving food as it’s unsafe I have no doubt that none of the food was probed it was freezing cold . Ruined Christmas for us .

We had Christmas Dinner here (2022) as an alternative to our usual place and it was absolutely amazing! Food portions were great, quality was high and service was 1st class. Staff were very helpful and friendly. We definitely intend to come here again!!

Advertised kitchen open til 9pm. Turned up with the family at 8:30 and were turned away as the kitchen was closed.

Very unhappy after booking a Christmas Meal for 6 people on Monday December 5th and paying £30 deposit I received a phone call the day after it was booked to inform me the kitchen was closed on Mondays and Tuesdays due to staff issues. Don't bother to go there...the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. Last time I go there.

Shocking pub, waited 15 minutes in Lounge bar on a Saturday night and nobody came to serve us or even check. On top of that no draft beer. Gave up and went to Black lion restaurant bar to grab a beer.

Hard to give this a grade as I didn't stay to give it a chance but on this Saturday afternoon I got the distinct impression I was not wanted. There were people sat in the bar but I was told this bars closed, go next door. I did and walked up the road to I think it was a carvery and they were very friendly.

Unfortunately they have no ale on tap☹️.

Since Luke left the service has down hill and twice now in month that we have to wait for over hour for food and when the food has come out it been the wrong order or not what is said on the menu. We been drinking at yeoman for over 20 years and I never seen service like it. What has gone wrong

Absolutely dreadful, meals delivered were nothing like the menu, fajitas came with burnt chicken no salsa, guacamole, sour cream or onions, grilled chicken also came overcooked with no sign of any vegetables except peppers, most of these items items were brought out after asking for them but not very appetising so took the refund and promptly left

Nice pub to watch the football but for food it's not great. Probably won't eat here again unless I'm already here for football.

Every time we are in Bristol we go to the Yeoman! Service is great, prices so affordable and definitely improved since our first time here (about 4-5 years ago).

Louise is the best member of staff there she is really great and gets everything right. She works really hard and goes above and beyond for everyone. Luke is also a great manager and works really hard too!!

1 hour wait not busy and no notice of taking long.

First venture to The Yeoman and it was great. Booze selection and quality was on point, food was very cheap and not too bad for the price. Will be visiting again for sure.

Last Saturday night 9th April we were driving home to wells & my friend had a medical emergency diabetic hypo all her reserves had gone , the Tesco garage had shut next door & we had another 30 minutes drive and no where was open ,Quick thinking I stopped at the pub it was just closing & explained our situation and a lovely member of staff kindly brought us out a chocolate pudding and saved the day! We were extremely grateful as they saved us a hospital trip, thankyou and she said the pudding was lovely! Very friendly staff, we will certainly be popping back for a meal to have some food without the medical emergency!

Had lunch here today for first time as the pub up the road we planned to eat was temporarily closed. We were a bit wary of the 2 mains for £9 as it seemed too good to be true or that what we received would be poor quality and tiny portions. We were wrong on both counts. I had gammon, egg and chips and my guest had sausage, mash and peas. Big portions and very tasty. Along with a couple of pints of Thatcher’s Gold and great service from the bar staff it was a perfect lunch and will be back. Highly recommended.
