This is probably my 10th time of lunching at the Yellow Frog Cafe. Food is always good - and so cheap, staff are very friendly, the dining area and the loo are always clean - what’s not to like! Oh did I mention the fish, spiders, snakes and lizards in the tanks along one wall.

MORE AT TripAdvisor

The yellow frog cafe offers work experience to a number of keen young chefs, waiters, waitresses and I’m sure young people who are learning to work in other roles too. This in itself is an amazing aspect of this small and friendly business. Add to that that the cafe is always clean, you’re surrounded by animals behind the glass-looked after by other young people-, ideal to keep young ones entertained, it’s furnished in a jungle theme and the staff are really friendly and helpful. But it’s an eating place, so let me tell you that the food is amazing, tasty fresh daily choices, canned drinks and tap water, veggie options, not specified vegan ones but every time I ask they make me a perfect salad. Prices are more than reasonable and you can pay by card. Plenty of seats, lovely place, lovely food, free parking on the road possible, give it a try!

Visited this loverly cafe yesterday for high tea. At £5 each, it was a lot cheaper than a lot of high tea establishments. Nicely laid out table, courtesy of Jonathan whom works for the school cafe. China cups and flowers on the table gave it a chic look. The high tea consisted of a tiered stand with a mixture of sandwiches, butterfly cakes and scones, jam and fresh cream. All washed down with either tea or coffee. And the cafe itself has a tropical rainforest atmosphere which will appeal to adults and children alike. Very friendly staff and ambiance. You must try it. You will not be disappointed. You can then tell friends you have visited the rainforest for high tea. Enjoy! Stuart Torquay.

Had an appointment at the school yesterday and was early so I visited the Yellow Frog. I had a breakfast bap with lovely crispy bacon, sausage and a perfectly cooked egg. A cappuccino with a frog shaped choc sprinkle (more than equalled Costa). All for £4.50 and included in that was excellent service with a beaming smile. On my way out I noticed that you can get a 2 course lunch for £4.50.......I wanted to go back after my appointment but was too full up!!!!! I have been to the Yellow Frog a few times now and thought what a wonderful place....non stop Richard Attenborough wildlife programmes on a big screen tv, and you are surrounded by an array of the schools collection of reptiles (behind screens of course!). Well done guys!!!

We just had lunch at the cafe. Keep in mind that this is a cafe used for training - there were a bunch of students in the kitchen actively doing things. It was really nice to see the young adults being exposed to a working restaurant, I'm sure this is great work experience for them. The dining area abuts onto a wall of aquariums containing various lizards , snakes and turtles. As I ate my pad thai curry, a few of them were watching... waiting for some crumbs, I'm sure. The food was simple and cheap - but prepared better than I could do. The staff was friendly and happy to explain the school and staffing. You have to park on the road and walk down the drive into the restaurant. It would have been nice to have the big car park next to the restaurant open to the public.

I visited with 3 friends. We were very happy with both the food and the service. The food was excellent value for money: I chose a ham and tomato sandwich. It came with salad, coleslaw and crisps!Even though I was very full, I still managed to eat a rocky road; it was only 50p! All the staff were friendly and helpful. We will definently be visiting again!

Necesita apoyo local.

This is a new community cafe that doubles as a training cafe for students at Combe Pafford special school. It is themed as a wild life cafe and has fish tanks and reptile tanks which are behind a glass partition, but are great fun for children. The food is inexpensive, but of excellent quality and you can just have a drink,a snack,or a full meal. The ambience is fantastic, the staff helpful and an alround great experience. The cafe also caters for parties. This is a real gem whic when you use it helps the students as well.

Went to Weavers Cottage today with my family to have a late celebration for my birthday. I had a high tea which was lovely and my family had other various items off the menu. All the food was lovely and beautifully served. The gentleman who was serving was very helpful and efficient and it was service with a smile. We are local to Torquay but it was our first time visiting Weavers cottage but it won’t be our last. Lovely outdoor setting that is covered with heaters and we even had a visit from a little robin on the back of one of our chairs. Lovely little lunch stop.

There was a variety of hot drinks and mlthe menu looked appealing. Clean and bright space, would definitely recommend. I had a lovely experience. Thank you
