Lovely place to have an afternoon beer, the house lager is great!

Lovely bar, cosy seating by the bar and then more in the courtyard and rooftop. Great cocktail. Fun atmosphere. Couldn't get food as the kitchen had closed already so just had some bar snacks.

Clue-less stuff about the cocktails, bouncers uncap able to check even ID, if I could give it 0 it will be the place !!!

By far the most cute and adorable Gay bay in soho with very cosy yard, nooks and hidden tables. Perfect size place

What has happened to this bar. Quality of staff is poor. Lack of attention to detail. Cocktails from a tap but premium prices. Haven’t been here for. While. Will not be going back.

Really nice (but busy) bar in SoHo; the other customers have a nice, chill vibe - the drinks are good, and the staff are nice. There's a great smoking terrace upstairs.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | The Yard Bar: Where I Had My Last First Kiss (and Upgraded Ever Since) Ah, The Yard Bar - the scene of my last first kiss, with my now-ex. And yet, despite that unfortunate plot twist, I still love this place. Why? Because it’s that good. Unlike my ex, The Yard has never disappointed me, which is why I keep coming back. The atmosphere? Perfection. The upstairs bar? Gorgeous - but if you want a seat, move fast because this place is packed every night of the week. And for good reason. It oozes charm, it’s lively, and, for once, the toilets are actually clean. (Could this be the rare magical combination of good management and it being a gay bar? Discuss.) I’ve seen some fantastic entertainment here - different acts, all fabulous, all bringing their own brand of darling, you must watch this energy. Soho has plenty of bars, but The Yard? This is the one. My go-to, my safe bet, my happy place. Would I recommend? Obviously. Just maybe don’t bring someone you’ll later regret kissing. 😅

Beautiful decorations, very good atmosphere and the music was nice. Big downside: the service and the prices, the servers are not very pleasant and create prices that do not exist. My friend ordered a mojito which was marked £6.80 at the entrance and paid double for it!! For my part, gin went from £6 to £8. They also made a mistake on one of the orders I quote: “I forgot to put the rum in it…” 👀 As for the table, they were super dirty, very sticky and black with dirt, we had to clean them ourselves! P.S: Good cleans toilets and the soap smells really good!

This place is certainly one of my stops around SOHO. I've been coming here since the late 90s. The venue gets really busy on a Friday and Saturday and sometimes it's difficult to get a seat. I like the decor around the building, particularly the terrace area on the second floor. Staff are friendly and there are plenty of drinks to choose from.

Didn't eat but drinks were decent. You're obviously paying for London prices so be prepared. Otherwise it's reasonable, good for casual meet and drinks before venturing into the glorious pit that is Soho.

I won't lie, did not realize it was a gay bar. Regardless it was fun and had a good atmosphere & music. Very nice exterior area. The beer was good! Cheers

Great atmosphere and service however inside upstairs is very cramped and the price price drinks is on the high end compared to other bars in the same area.

Not my favourite gay bar in SoHo but it’s a good choice for a chilled sit down drink.

No hemos estado en el patio durante muchos años y pensamos en entrar. El gran error de mi parte fue cómo recordaba este lugar gay. Ahora, obviamente con los nuevos propietarios, este lugar es tan diferente, que todo había cambiado. Con los precios sobrecargados, podríamos habernos sentado en un buen bar en un hotel cercano y disfrutar del ambiente. Odio ser estafado y decepcionado de mí mismo por ser acogido por este establecimiento. Bueno, lecciones aprendidas y es por eso que quería tomar tiempo en escribir esta reseña para otras personas que quieren beber en algún lugar que puedan alejarse sin sentir que acabo de hacerlo.

They don't serve food so can't comment on this but I always have an amazing service when I go and have a hoot with friends. Beautiful space as well. Both courtyard and balcony!

No he sido fan de este lugar, debo confesar, pero es útil en una noche agradable o si fumas ya que tiene una cervecería. ¡Pedí unas cervezas a las que solo les dio un pequeño movimiento de cabeza como si le estuvieran pidiendo oler los pies de alguien! Se conformó con la opción número 4 y le dijeron que no tenía efectivo, toque la máquina. No pude ver el precio pero no iba a hacer más preguntas. Era obvio que se añadió una propina, ya que me di cuenta poco después de que el precio era de aproximadamente £ 3 más que el precio de las cervezas en los lugares gay cercanos. Detenido - en alrededor de 10 : 30 p.m. un martes después de una larga cena con un amigo en el Soho. Escena divertida, no demasiado concurrida o ruidosa en ese día / hora. El camarero era agradable y hizo las bebidas rápidamente. Los dos hemos bebido mejor, no había artesanos, pero no eran terribles. Fue divertido socializar. ¡Cuidado con la barra permite fumar, que fue un ajuste! Un lugar divertido.

I've been coming here from time to time for about 7 years and am really surprised that I never wrote a review. It is always my go-to when in the area since the venue gives off a nice vibe. The service is always friendly and fast. Bathrooms and premises are well looked after. Definitely recommend it as a really welcoming queer place with a pleasant atmosphere.

I like this place but are you kidding me on the service charge for drinks at the bar? Just charge that little bit extra if that’s what’s stopping you paying your staff better. It’s almost an insult adding a service charge just to pour a pint, optional or not. This isn’t America and we don’t want it to be.

It’s no secret that the staff is super rude at The Yard but they’re taking bad service to a different level. I perhaps missed this in the past as I usually drink beer, but they’re serving drinks poured from cans you can get in corner store, charging £15/drink. You cannot really complain as they require payments first and that’s simply what you get. There’s no point to ask them to make you new drink, they simply open another can and pour it into another plastic martini glass. Strongly recommend to avoid this bar, there’s dozens if you need one in the area.

Good atmosphere but busy and overpriced as usual

A really cute location. I didn't eat anything here, but only a stop. Prices are intensive, I would be charged 5% and by my friend 10% service fees, without pointing it out. What a pity.

I was really disappointed to see they didn't allow the entrance of a guy with his Pomeranian tiny-little dog (in a small bag), even though he had shown and proved his gov authorization to be with the company dog as his owner has a disability. Please, guys, we gays have been excluded for so long, and now you are excluding a gay-disabled guy with a tiny company dog?

Something is really off with the bouncers here. They allowed half of our group in then we had to get one of our friends to come to convince them we were together and just when we passed they changed their mind and kicked us out because a friend was tipsy (at a BAR). This is unacceptable, I've never come across anything like this before in my life. It gave me the creeps to say the least...

I am disabled, I have to have an emotional support dog, registered with the ESA and I carry the registration card with them, today, the manager Julio denied me entry saying that the place did not allow this type of support when I am protected by her registration and confirmation of my disability which is discrimination. Very disappointing to see how a place for a minority group is discriminating against one of their own

Great venue but over priced drinks and the rudest staff… been going there for years on and off tonight was without doubt the most unpleasant experience… ignored by bar staff and talked down to ..

Tuvimos un tiempo fantástico en el patio. Teníamos un gran camarero llamado Rashid que realmente cuidó de nosotros por el día. Él era muy atento e hizo un Daiquiri de fresa muy bueno! Realmente disfrutamos del entorno y tuvimos un gran día. Volveré.

I read some of the reviews and I must admit I have an amazing time.. What a gem in LGBTQ Soho. Some one wrote the music is too loud.. well it has a courtyard where music isnt played (which has many tables) due to it being a residential area and it has a balcony with plenty of seats where music isnt play. Some one wrote about hiding the machine about gratuity but its on the back of the bar and they, by law, have to give receipts for you to look at so if the receipt wasnt there then the signs are at the back of the bar and.. they look like they have been there awhile. It does bother me when people attack a bar when 9 out of ten time its very possibly down to a lack of knowledge, familiarity or just people having a bad day. Staff were lovely, Drinks are SOHO London prices but not alot they can do about rent charges and price of drink. Visually it looks beautiful, Drinks are nice, two floors, courtyard, balcony, indoor spaces.. What can you not like

My husband and I decided to celebrate our wedding day at the Yard. I spoke first with Lucy, then Tom and Julio. When the time came, we had an amazing support from them and the entire team. We had the upper floor bar for us and our guests. We brought our own food and decorations and the Yard team were there for anything we needed. That the best team we could possibly have. They are friendly, smiling, great attitude and extremely kind. We are looking forward to celebrate our birthday with them again soon. Thank you guys for being part of our big day. ❤️

I found very bad they added us a 5% gratuity for two pints ordered at the bar without asking. It's a pity to bump into service like this in such a cool place.

Great crowd in there. Staff still charging tips automatically without telling customers at the bar! Complained 12 months ago, manager pretending not to know anything.... reported to trading standards who are waste of tax payers money.

Good establishment in Soho, but greed has gotten the better of the place by now adding a gratuity to each payment without asking the consumer if they’d like to add this. This is in relation to simply ordering from the bar, not table service. Disappointing.

PLEASE AVOID. There is cameras in the toilet area, security are the worst I've ever seen; banging on toilet doors and threatening to call the police because I wouldn't open the door (Obviously not able to open the door when you're sat on the toilet!) Extremely aggressive and threatening behaviour from security and staff, shouting at us, banging the walls and slamming doors. What a way to treat a 24 year girl and her 59 year old mum. All we wanted to do was pop in for a night cap on our walk home.

The Yard Bar had an amazing atmosphere and decor, it's what drew us in, the staff where very busy but handled the customers well, we only were able to.say for a few drinks but enjoyed ourselves while there

Lovely place but it’s becoming a venue for groups that book a number of tables and don’t use them. Booking is free by the way! Today the courtyard had about 10 tables booked for 6.30 or 7pm. We arrived at 7 and decided to use a table booked for 7 when it was 8pm. The manager came and asked us to vacate because “the group was getting late upstairs” and decided to come down now. Seriously? We just left and won’t come back.

Really? They ruined our date by telling us to move from our table because another customer had been booked for 7 pm. We sat around 7:45 pm, and not one of the reserved people had arrived. We thought the general rule was that if a person doesn’t turn up within 20 minutes, they lose the reservation. The manager was very rude, insisting we vacate the table. But people arrived after 8 pm – really? Does the restaurant allow reservations to be held for over an hour? We hadn’t finished our drinks, and despite speaking with the manager, security, and staff, they didn’t respect us. We have the right to stay, and it’s their problem if guests arrive late. We decided to leave without finishing our drinks. Never again. Businesses need to reconsider their treatment of customers and prioritize more than just profit. I will inform all my friends and advise against going there. Shameful atmosphere and unhelpful staff.

Nice atmosphere, however my darlings I ask for beer from tap and he makes it for me like a lemonade... Teach you staff how to pour a pint with the froffy head please. I don't pay for a lemonade my darlings I pay for pint. Sort it out please.

Great place with a pretty interior courtyard and very fast bar service even with people! Very nice decor, few seats but it's not impossible to find some! Very very fair price! Enjoy!

Nearly £8 for a pint of Shipyard! It's not a craft beer. And service charge for going to the bar and having a pint poured,... wow! Haven't been here in ages and suspect won't be back either.

Have always liked this place. Staff in the loft bar were pleasant. The place was cold but they did close the door into the balcony and turn on some heating when we asked them! I don’t go to a bar to freeze. Really cheeky adding gratuity to the bill. This should stop. Ok, they put a receipt by the card machine but who looks before paying and in any case it does not say it is optional. They are not waiting staff. You go to the bar to get your drink.

The yard was a very good experience, our server Henry was very funny and polite, always ready to help and just had good vibes. The bar was very social and everyone seemed to just be having a good time. Will 100% be planning to go again. If you do go, get the “dirty Henry” drink, it taste real nice. Haha!

Such a fun night. Went on 9 Feb 2024. Henry on first floor looked after my friend and I and made me the spiciest of margaritas on my request. The night was special. Henry was a great host and other staff too. The energy of the place was vibrant. The people were fun and music was sooo on point. Would recommend this place ❤️❤️

The drink tasted like....' smokers breath' and the illiterate staff behind the bar wouldn't change it.... a right rip off.

The guy at the door didn't let me in.claiming it is reservation only which was not true as when my friends came afterwards he allowed them in. I don't know bt it seems he didn't like my skin color or the way i m dressed. Definitely a no go bar.

Came here from as tourists from Amsterdam, the place looked amazing and the staff and guests were all very nice. The prices of the drinks however were very high.

Only ever been here in warm months so can't speak to the winter but this is the perfect LGBTQ+ friendly place to meet friends outside in central. Lots of space, nice being outdoors, very low key and chill atmosphere, no super loud music so you can have a chat. Really really like it here.

The bartenders are adding service charge / tip automatically without even giving you the option . Anyone knows how legal is that?

This used to be one of my favourite bars in Soho. But with a surly bartender and a lack of outside heating my opinion has changed. Also, why do they add a 5% gratuity to your check, when you have to queue for a drink, and get poor service?

Since when do we get charged for standing in the queue and waiting for the drink? Service charge for what??? Also £8.40 for a tiny glass of mulled wine? ARE YOU HAVING A LAUGH??? Not coming back.....

I been at this place many times, and yesterday someone broke a glass with a drink(full drink). And the manager of Yard just say if we want another we have to pay again! Really this is the customer service?

Why does the Yard insist on sneaking a service charge on drinks from the bar? Which bit of this is service? Is it me queuing for my own drinks? Or me carrying my own drinks back to the table? What’s worse is the way the bar tenders try to hide this when they ‘show’ you the bill. They always keep their hand over this charge. Funny that. In the old days at the Yard it used to be optional on the card machine. These days it’s automatically added. I’m sure the venue would say it’s entirely ‘optional’. But if that’s the case, why not allow your customer the option to add it?

Very nice place that definitely it’s much better week time so busy on Fridays and Saturdays when it’s just too crowded and it’s just too hard to move around. Really nicely done in a city style that represents night life in a modern but not fancy way with a quite colourful neons way 💡 I like it especially for early evening time before 9pm as later it’s just loud place to just talk and it smells like cigarette 🚬 so it’s healthy style people friendly so 4 stars ⭐️ but still I’ll recommend a bit 💪🏻

Amazing gay bar in London 🇬🇧 The atmosphere and general mood of the bar is great, as soon as you enter the terrace is nicely entertained, there are a lot of table, on the second floor there is a terrace and also some more space, the cocktails were good. It is definitely a great place to enjoy your night out with friends

A lovely, atmospheric and attractive venue with plenty of outside space. This brought us in but I was shocked by the bar bill. £7.60 for a pint of IPA and £9 for a large pinot grigio PLUS a presumptuous gratuity. Why? Total bill £17.63 for crying out loud for a couple of average drinks.🇬🇧🇳🇿

Nice enough bar. Bug staff are vile. Needs new management and staff. Was charged 3 different prices for the same round. !!!
