Inicialmente nos sorprendió / preocupamos inicialmente por lo tranquilo que era el lugar para un sábado por la noche. Como resultado, le faltaba un poco de atmósfera, pero esto no le resta valor a una comida muy agradable con un excelente servicio. La comida fue cocinada y presentada perfectamente y representaba una buena relación calidad-precio, especialmente dada la ubicación del restaurante.

Hix was great ! I loved the look and feel of the place. Very stylish. Food was amazing. All three of us loved our dishes. Good portion size. Great staff too. Thoroughly recommend

El ruido proveniente de la discoteca era tan fuerte que ahogaba la atmósfera en todo el restaurante. También para ir al baño tenías que abrirte paso a través de la pista de baile, ya que los baños estaban ubicados escaleras abajo.Un restaurante de gama alta no debe esperar que los comensales tengan que aguantar esto.Decepcionado en esta ocasión.

Nous avons été très bien accueillis,les service parfait , les entrées bien préparées : toutefois le poisson du jour nous a été servi une face cuite, une face crue....expérience culinaire surprenante ! le dessert , pavlova a partager est excellent.

Me and my partner went for drinks and a snack - was 100% worth the detour The host and customer service at reception was excellent Downstairs the bar has an elegant atmosphere with great choice and selection of cocktails and various snacksDustin and the other staff members were great at recommendations and gave friendly service I would 100% recommend to anyone who is looking for a great cocktail with a relaxed yet beautiful atmosphere Would love to return and try to the main menu Thank you again

Although they serve fantastic steak, I would recommend the seafood. I order the oysters which were fresh and delicious. The Hake also was well cook and the mash potato were well cooked and balanced. Over all recommended for a nice day

I went there for the first time , service was good and so was the food , I would go again but not in a hurry £617 bill, 3 bottles of wine and food for 4 people , But worth it

We always have a fantastic experience in this place. Staff are very accommodating and friendly. Food are to die for. It's the quality not the quantity. We will definitely comeback again!

We had afternoon tea for 4 people. Overall bill including standard service charge was over £100. Afternoon tea at £24.75 is a standard plated offering of 5 very small canapé style sandwiches, which combined would not make anywhere near one sandwich and 5 very small canapé size pastries, again, less than one cake. Price includes one pot of tea, which wasn't refillable within the cost . The quality of the cakes was poor, obviously been standing and the mince pies were very chewy. Add to this the very noisy ambience because the tables are too cramped and the restaurant is within the open ground floor of the store and overall it was a very poor experience, which we will not repeat.

I should have taken notice of the previous reviews. The service was so slow, food took forever and was really disappointing once it came. Really bad value for money, not worth a fraction of the bill.

Had a lovely couple of hours drinking fizz (prosecco......expensive but not as pricey as the champagne!) with an old friend and watching the shoppers in Selfridges. Service was lovely but prices are high!

Visitamos HIX hoy (sábado 14 de noviembre) para el brunch a las 11.30 am. En primer lugar el desayuno ya no estaba siendo servido, bien que pensamos pasar. Pedimos dos salmón ahumado y huevos revueltos, remolachas y Halumi ensalada y el pollo Burger. camarera trajo sólo dos platos de salmón ahumado, sin huevos ( !) y las más penosas porciones de pan tostado. Esperamos 10 minutos para los huevos para llegar. Eran sólidas y le faltaba cualquier sabor, y las raciones eran pequeñas. En esta etapa las tostadas habían ido frío. hamburguesas de pollo estaba seco y muy frito, y de nuevo, le faltaba el sabor, y el pan estaba duro!! No había ensalada para ser visto en cualquier lugar, cuando apareció la camarera se quedaban atrás, pero nuestro disgusto había olvidado de poner la orden. Esperamos otros 10 minutos para ensalada. La comida estaba tensa y no disfrutamos, y la camarera - claramente nervioso- evitar nuestra mesa. factura era de 113 libras! una barbaridad! No hay bebidas o comida. NUNCA comer aquí de nuevo y recomiendo encarecidamente personas a elegir un restaurante diferente, a menos que quieras arruinar su excursión familiar.

found the menu on the Selfridges website and it looked delicious and priced at £32.75 for sparkling afternoon tea it was ideal.<br />Arrived at Selfridges and saw the menu displayed at the bottom of the HIX staircase was different, cakes were different but also the price was now £34.75. not a big deal we though so carried on shopping. <br />finally went in for our booking only to find that the menu was again different!!! 3 different menus, i can appreciate maybe the menu on website no being uploaded but having different menus between bottom and top of a staircase is just silly. when we looked at the upstairs menu we didn&#039;t like any of the cakes on it which basically left us the option of paying for it but eating half or trying to reorganise our plan and find another venue to eat. when i mentioned our disappointment to the host and the waitress they said they couldn&#039;t do anything. shocking service really.<br />so off we went to eat elsewhere.

I booked for 4 afternoon teas. It was disapointing. We were sat in the midle and staff were constantly walking past us. We waited 20minutes + for the the afternoon tea to arrive by which time the tea was cool. We asked for more tea and was charged extra when some of the pots were only half full to start with. Usually when serving tea you are served a jug of hot water as well. Since our visit on Saturday I noticed on the Selfridges website there is a roof restaurant that serves more traditional afternoon tea in a relaxed atmosphere.<br />So in conclusion it was disappointing, felt slightly manic and I wouldnt book tea aain the Hix Cavier bar as its not suitable.

Having been here before for after work cocktails , which was great, I thought to return for birthday drinks.It depends what you are looking for but the experience was less about a buzzy cocktails/champagne than weary Saturday shoppers having a bite to eat . Drinks were great but service was really slow. The staff were apologetic but in a fairly disinerested way. In total,it was bland and instantly forgettable. I love the Hix restaurants but this one has lost its zest. I won&#039;t be returning.

I was expecting an &quot;experience&quot; but it was downmarket and super casual. Service wasn&#039;t great - had to get the waitresses attention to order after a bit of a wait.

Good quality was very good. Service was slow and the restaurant wasn&#039;t busy. This was a late lunch, starting at 1.30pm

Thursday evening is late night shopping in the West End, and my wife and daughter often take advantage of the opportunity, ending at Hix&#039;s in Selfridge&#039;s on Oxford Street for supper. I sometimes join them, and recently met a friend for lunch there as a new experiment.<br /><br />I like Hix. The food is simple, but very good. Not cheap, but I&#039;d say you get what you pay for. Service is friendly and relaxed, and as attentive as you want it to be.<br /><br />At lunch the other day, the restaurant was very full and it was a bit noisy - I had to strain to hear the conversation in my deaf old age. But no musak, thank God. I had 6 oysters and some asparagus, with a bottle of IPA. First rate.

We had lunch at the Hix restaurant in Selfridges - the service was abysmal, the food forgettable. We waited a good 15 minutes to order a drink or food, then were served very quickly, too quickly for the food to have been made to order. We both ordered the fish fingers, having had them before at the Hix restaurant in Soho, were they were delicious. The ones served at the Selfridges branch of the restaurant were a far cry from that. We had barely finished eating (most of the food was untouched on my plate anyway) and our table was cleared and we felt we were being rushed out so that they could get another two top in before the lunch rush was over. Never again.

Lovely lunch stop, whether seafood or simple cheese and ham toastie. Always have a glass of Nyetimber - good English bubbly. For two, tables overlook handbag hall so nice to sit and people-watch. Service always good.

We booked Hix for lunch and it more than exceeded my expectations from the freshly made chicken burger to the delicious homemade scones and jam :)<br />Lovely touch with the Happy Birthday written on a plate and small pieces of chocolate cake.<br />All in all a lovely lunch.

this is the second time we have visited Hix in SELFRIDGES, we waited to be seated, the staff looked at you but carried on clearing tables, not overly busy, the food boring in taste and in presention, and the girl server when she gave us our bill, clearly ringed the service charged area. will not use this place again.

Hix is a unique concept, using locally sourced British ingredients which may be expensive but are an insight into the foods that have given the country it's culinary identity. I applaud the effort and the knowledge that is displayed every time I eat here so I will always recommend going to Hix

My main highlight of my visit to Hix was the service. It was outstanding, prompt, efficient and also personable. A hard thing to achieve...Well done!

Met some friends at Hix for lunch for my wife's birthday - had a leisurely 4 hour lunch and at no time felt under any pressure to leave.I don't think I've ever been to a restaurant with a table of 5, eaten a 3 course meal and seen completely empty plates after each course - the good was beautiful and much to our surprise as good for veggies as it was for carnivores!The bar downstairs was very cool with an eclectic mix of furniture, stuffed animals and modern art - they even had a Damian Hurst!The staff were very attentive, entertaining and so knowledgable about the menu and source of all of the food and produce.Really can't wait to go back and also try Hix's other restaurants.

.. we had a table overlooking the handbag sections near Chanel, and the comings and goings and shoppings were great to watch ! we had the &#039;three tastes&#039; shared to start, the mini fish cakes/ padron peppers and the caibbean chips with guacamole, and honestly, it looked more like a sculpture, than food but it was equally delicious <br /> mains were duck salad and calimari with almond/garlic, we also had a side of fries (gorgeous) all together, brilliant food and great great setting. <br />Would highly recommend, even to rest your feet for half an hour in case you&#039;re out shopping &#039;for the day&#039;

"I know somewhere for lunch" said my husband before we went our separate ways for the afternoon. My heart sank as these places often involve club sandwiches/burgers and always chips but began to rally as he confidently led the way into Selfridges up to the first floor and straight into Hix. Seated with a ringside view of the comings and goings of the handbag department we studied the menu and eventually chose (like the old married couple we are) the same starter and main course. The starter though rather too large a portion for an appetiser was unusual and delicious - squid with chilli and slivered almonds - absolutely excellent. The crab and avocado to follow would have been a total wow too had we not over eaten to begin with. Some time ago I had a very disappointing dinner at Hix Lyme Regis and would not have bothered to eat here when in London, but will definitely be back.

This is a restaurant you would only go to if you wanted to impress or frankly if someone else is paying. It's good but ridiculously expensive, even by London Standards. £17 for a starter, £35 for a steak? £16 a glass of port. Come on lads! Get stuck in

Just after I made my booking with top table Hix rang me to say they actually closed at 20.00. I had booked a dinner table for 19.30! They admitted this was their mistake, not top table&#039;s and also recommended somewhere else to go that was lovely. However, it made my evening unnecessarily complicated as it had been specifically booked. Because they had a table at the last minute and people I was meeting had already arrived at the restaurant.Came close to ruining my saturday night.

Food was good but the drinks were pricy.

I had always looked at this restaurant with a degree of envy - for those who had booked a table! This time I thought that I too would sit back and enjoy a glass of champagne - or two - as a break from shopping.<br />Though alone, I was offered a table overlooking the balcony - which was great for people watching. I enjoyed champagne with a wonderful starter and opted for the salmon and caviar main. My only grumble I suppose was not being smart enough to order tap water - and so was billed for some upmarket bottle - my error through.<br />The service was attentive and it was a wonderfully relaxing hour +. A little pricey perhaps but then I had opted for the expensive dishes! A little treat.

My partner and I popped into Hix for lunch. Rita tried on of their oysters and wasn't impressed so left it at that and followed it up by a hamburger which she enjoyed. I had a risotto which was quite tasteless and grossly overpriced for its size. My complaint resulted in not being charged for the dish. Also had a gentle run in with one of the managers who insisted in keeping the wine in a cooler about 20ft away adjacent to another table. When asked why - the response was we have always lodged our wine coolers there. I'm sure they had a good reason but when you keep looking round for a refill during a meal I'd suggest they need to increase staff numbers or change their policy

Well worth a visit. Shall be visiting again when in london. Champagne menu brilliant. Service was also very good.

Great food at hix, well worth a visit!

Met a friend for lunch at 12.30pm on a weekday. We chose the two course set lunch £19.75ish. Really good food, hot and tasty. Good choice of wine. Pleasant seating overlooking the shopping floor. Only one child in thank goodness, no wish to sit by any children when I am out to eat...lovely as they are. Service good. Would definitely use this restaurant again.

This was a special occasion I booked in September this year for a friends birthday. Our table was booked for 13th December for lunch and we had a long journey by car from cambridgeshire. When we arrived we asked for a drink<br />before lunch 3 of our guests wanted champagne to celebrate the occasion and one of the guests wanted a cup of coffee only to be told he could not have coffee which we were quite taken aback. We were very disappointed with the attitude of the management. We would not go back as the food was just ok nothing special and also very expensive. Kind regards.

I took a fellow lady client here for a mid week lunch. It wasn&#039;t too formal and surprisingly not noisy considering it is in the middle of Selfridges! The prawn curry was very tasty and light.

Caught up with a few friends from overseas. Service was efficient, toilets were clean.<br />Cocktails tended to be on the sweet side and also a bit pricey, but guess you&#039;re paying for the convenience of the location.<br /><br />The crackling with apple sauce was outstanding! 4 of us had the lamb chops and they were done very nicely. I&#039;d go again, but purely because it&#039;s so easy to get to.

Hix at Selfridges is brilliant for lunch - super food super service, and at £19.50 for two courses super value. There is also a bar serving bar snacks

i went Hix Restaurant &amp; Champanue Bar between shopping and haircut appointment. it was convenient for eating alone as in-store retaurant.<br />A little expensive for the restaurant at the departtment store-2 courses express set menu for £ 17.50-but food was nice and service was good.

The Hix in Selfridges has amazing food. The service was however slow and the waitress had forgot one of the meals for our party of 6 people. We went for a lunch so wasnt expecting it to be that disappointing on service. Apart from that its a relaxing place while shopping but Please book a table first because you will have to wait a long time for a table if not. luckly we booked!

Decent meal in a buzzy location.

We had a great dinner at HIX in Selfridges. We were given a choice of tables upon arriving, and our order was taken very quickly. The food arrived soon after (the restaurant wasn&#039;t too busy though) and was superb: freshly cooked and really tasty. Even though there was no offer for the dinner, the food was good value for money.

Hix Restaurant &amp; Champagne Bar in Selfridges, certainly has to be the best restaurant in a Department Store ever created. Foundations (long since gone from Harvey Nichols) or Fountain (Fortnum &amp; Masons) were/are close competitors. But the food and value are superlative. One little slip in service was quickly compensated with a free drink. Great staff, amazing food and £22.50 for 3 courses &amp; a superlative rum cocktail - you&#039;d be pressed to find better value anywhere in the UK, let alone London

Hix Restaurant in Selfridges, London, is perfect for a special meal combined with a shopping trip, or a relaxed meeting place with friends. The breakfast menu choice is very good and the quality and presentation of the food and freshly squeezed fruit juices excellent

Fairly good value and taster menu had a decent selection of simple English fare. Entree of jellied ham hock and picadilly was delicious although my oartner found the fried squid duh a little oily. Was rather disappointed with my salmon main, where the fish was overcooked and sat atop some spinach rather than the advertised kale (no one mentioned this at anytime, even when we ordered spinach as a side). The combo of the fish and the little sweet shrimps was however really lovely.

Food and cocktails were really nice. We had a drink at the bar before our meal and the barman was charming and had kindly knocked us up an expresso martini which was &quot;off menu&quot;. The wine list was reasonable and lots of them come in 1/2 litre caraffes which is great.<br /><br />My only reservation was the location. We were sat right on the edge overlooking the Selfridges store. In a way it&#039;s nice to people watch, because you are right in the middle of it all, but it felt a little odd!

A little disappointing considering the price. The offer we&#039;d booked on wasn&#039;t too attractive when we saw it so went for a la carte, which seemed expensive and ordinary.

We all chose a meal from the fixed price menu. The choice was very limited but adequate. The waitress tried to bring our meal too quickly, forgetting we wanted snacks with our gin punch (very nice). Starters disappointed (rather ordinary) but we all enjoyed our mains.<br />Overall, for the price, the meal was good.

Had a superb evening at Hix in Selfridges, Oxford street, London on friday evening. Food was fantastic. The manager (Scottish guy) was the best - arranged a table for us by the balcony with a view, made great recommendations and generally very friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed every aspect of the evening esp the starter with truffles. Excellent.

We dined at the Hix Restaurant and Champagne Bar on a very busy Monday lunchtime in December. There was a very good atmosphere and the food and service were very good and we found the meal to be very reasonably priced and will certainly visit again next time we are shopping on Oxford Street.

The service, atmosphere and setting were spot on. The food was really very good, but, beware the portions! The main course lobster salad was very small (just two small pieces of lobster) and when queried, the impression my diners were left with was very much that the customer is NOT always right.

Hix is devine! The service was amazing - even though it was 1pm on a Saturday they were still attentive. The food was excellent. we tried the squid with bacon - beautifully cooked and went fabulously with the crispy bacon. Try and get a seat overlooking the store - great for people watching!
