I visit Piccadilly Waterstones frequently. Today I experienced a shockingly rude and disrespectful service in the underground floor cafe. I was shocked by the rude/sarcastic answer to my question about why food and coffee were served in disposable card boxes and paper cups. Sorry, last time for me.

I’ve always loved visiting London and going to this cafe for the view and a Pimms. I decided to have lunch and had the grilled veggie smashed avo. It was fantastic.

It's delicious and the staff are friendly

It was a very strange vibe, not a café or a restaurant - it felt like some sort of purgatory. The whole service was a little strange. Also really overpriced. But it was definitely an experience.

We tried a coffee and a chocolate the taste was good approx £9 for 2 people with 1 drink per person; the staff a little rude! The bookstore is undoubtedly spectacular

Nice place located on on the 5th floor of Waterstones Piccadilly, away from the hustle and bustle of the West End. Great view on Westminster and Victorian (if the weather is nice!). The decor could definitely be updated, it's a bit drab and it feels a bit like an old English caf. Christmas decorations were a bit cheap and sparse. Service could also be a bit more attentive. Coffee was good but didn't try food or cakes (cakes were on the expensive side). I would possibly come back for a no-frills experience.

Waited in the queue for half an hour for two cakes. I got them in a paper bag (not even a plate) and had to go back and ask for two forks. This was at 3 on a Sunday and they were clearly understaffed.

We came for lunch. They have a very good selection of ready made sandwiches, most of them vegetarian. I had mozzarella and tomato with spinach on focaccia served warm. It was excellent quality and not bad value for £5. My coffee was delicious too.

Café Concerto is niet alleen een heel gezellig plek om te verblijven, het ademt ook in volle omvang de Italiaanse achtergrond uit. Prachtige kaart met vele aantrekkelijke gerechten. Goede bediening en aangename sfeer, dit ondanks het feit dat het er bijna altijd druk is. Een aantrekkelijke plek voor een lunch of brunch.

I got food as part of Too Good To Go and everything tasted really good. The staff were great too as they tried their best to accommodate me by making the food as vegetarian as possible

Love it but needs more thought on dietary requirements. Enticing counter dripping with almond frangipane and with stodgy deliciousness but if you need wheat free or nut free best stay away from the food and just get a hot drink. Top ambience and you can sit read or play chess. Toilet not very nice on the lower ground cafe which is a shame when the staff and the feel of it are top notch.

Always grab a pot of tea here when browsing the books..why not! Friendly staff, nice cakes..shame about occasional (fruit) flies. A customer was emphatically making the point that foodstuff should be covered!

These new Waterstones Cafe Ws are fab.

This is a very nice and chilled out place to spend time with friends and have a good coffee, its a must visit place.

What can i say back memories school chairs, good music and more space and cheap and friendly people and I hope w cafe come to Lincolnshire much better then cafe Nero and Costa .well done and I take thefootage of your place back to Lincoln shop verdict.

Coffee area at the back of store looked nice and pleasant but only excepting card payments. In order to avoid embarrassment walked out. A gentleman behind me also walked out. I did not see any signs up saying only card payments only.. I would of giving a one rating but the coffee and cakes were laid out nicely. Pity that cash customers are discriminated and sent away.

Used to be a lovely haven, now dreadfully slow, tables not cleared and the fayre is so-so. Shame...just not well managed.

Hasta hace poco solía visitar este café sobre una base regular. Solía sentarse en el entresuelo. El café era bueno, era tranquilo, tan buena para estudiar, y el ambiente era agradable. También, me gusta apoyo cafés independientes donde sea posible.

I come in here if I want a decent coffee in a rather quieter environment as it is in the basement of Waterstones bookshop. The cakes here are excellent and not ridiculous prices. The coffee was very good yesterday but not crafted quite to the usual standard.

Una muy buena taza de Earl Grey de 2 por £2,90 y una porción muy generosa de frutas del bosque tarta de frangipani que era perfecta. Loos solía ser a las escaleras, pero ahora hay una talla unica individual loo directamente en la cafetería. Creo que sería mejor si esto era para personas de movilidad reducida y original restaurado, no loos eran las mejores, pero era adecuada y razonablemente limpio.

It was good to take a breather from shopping and sit and have a leisurely cup of tea, This is a good place to come. It was busy but we luckily found a table and enjoyed a quiet rest from the bustle of London.

There are loads of coffee shops in London, one on every corner and normally some in between too, but this is by far my favourite. Great coffee, great cakes and sandwiches, and a choice of 2 cafés in one great location.. Highly recommended

Stopped for a quick coffee, others had tea and a white hot chocolate. Nice looking cakes but didn't have one so can't comment. Will stop again when in the shop

I popped into Waterstones and decided to have a bit of lunch in the basement cafe, I chose a salad which was delicious, lots of healthy ingredients, nicely presented and I ate it while finishing a book I was reading, perfect. All the food seemed to be sourced locally, the salad came from Lunch BXD, in London. The staff were lovely and the cafe had a very relaxed and restful atmosphere, will definitely go again and have another of those wonderful salads, chill and read my book.

We're looking for breakfast and called in here. Super coffee and the fruit bun was one of the best my wife has had. The tomato ciabatta was great. The atmosphere was very relaxed and made an ideal break for a pit stop.

We were looking for somewhere to stop and relax with a coffee and noticed the signs for the basement cafe in Waterstones. It was a great find! Friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, good selection of drinks, interesting environment with a choice of tables...and the prices were good for London - always a bonus.

Cold, bracing rain outside. Sunday, so the upscale clothing stores on Jermyn Street were closed, despite the January sales. Every good reason to go into Waterstones to browse the books. I'm very glad I discovered the simple little cafe. A nice selection of pastries was available and an assortment of teas. A nice young man took my order and brought the items to my table when the tea was ready. A perfect day to enjoy the view out the window down to people strolling along Jermyn Street.Compared to other locations, the price was very reasonable. It was a good experience, and I would surely do it again.

I must admit I rarely buy new books and if I do I usually use Amazon so I only come here to use the cafe which is excellent. The staff are friendly, chatty and enthusiastic. They make great coffee. The seating is comfortable with books and papers on hand. I think food is a bit limited but the quality of cakes is superb and they are fairly priced. Where else in Piccadilly can you get a large pot of tea for 2 for £2.80! We also shared a sticky Chelsea bun type cake with caramel and nuts that was only £1.60. If you fancy a change from the usual Pret etc and do not want to pay a fortune at the likes of Paul or Richoux come here - you may even buy a book! There is also a loo and a large communal table - probably a good place for a quick business meet.
