The Wyvern Pub in Hart

Always pop into this great pub when I’m in the area. Never lets me down. Usually very busy with a lovely atmosphere. Lovely and warm, beautifully decorated for Christmas. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. Terrific menu with something for everyone. 4 of us had the Sunday roast with sides of cauliflower cheese and pigs in blankets …wow! So good! Big fluffy yorkies too. Asked for another jug of gravy, which arrived with horseradish for the beef. My sister had the sweet chilli salmon with sweet potato fries which she loved. My son had the steak fondue, huge plate filled with delights! Triple cooked chips were so moreish. Steak cooked medium rare, perfect, just as he likes it. We all said we were glad we decided not to have starters this time. After another round of drinks we asked for the desert menu. Key lime pie, chocolate tart and a caramel apple pie with a jug of custard. Perfect. Excellent value too. Their prices never seem to change? Thank you for a lovely Sunday afternoon 😘

The staff are great, friendly and approachable and the beer is nice but the food on the two occasions (both Sundays) has been a bit of a let down. We had a roast each either Sunday but the meat portions were mean, the food was lukewarm and the gravy was tasteless, We also tried the bream which was ok and the American craft burger which came with a tiny sliver of pastrami and some truly dreadful chips. We had a side of pigs in blankets which seemed microwaved rather than roasted. One letdown can just be bad luck, but this is looking like a pattern. We may pop in for a drink, but with better pub food options available, I don’t think we will risk another meal.

Went with a friend for a pre Christmas meal. The gammon was full of gristle. The smoked salmon was tough and full of veins. The Turkey was dry and the veg was all over cooked. Overall the food was terrible. Made worse by the fact that they seated us in front of a TV by the side of a huge group of young lads who were noisy and rude. Never again :(

First time trying the Sunday roast and it won’t be the last. General portions, particularly the sides. Fab crispy roast potatoes and a huge Yorkshire puddings. All very reasonable priced. Puddings were lovely too. Thanks

Selected this pub as it was close to the hotel I was staying at. I went with a friend and we arrived quite early for lunch. Not only were the staff very friendly and efficient but the food was served quickly. It was delicious and excellent value. Our waitress, Gemma, was lovely, happy and funny. We will definitely be returning when we are in the area again.

We had a family roast dinner for 4 of us today and it was lovely as always! Perfect service and the best food. Cannot fault this place. To top it off we won online to recieve free roasts!

This is my go to pub with friends. Prices are good. Never had a bad meal from their varied menu. Garden is great. Staff are great. They get really busy. I do not go for the Sports shown on the TV screens. They have an area of no screen and set aside for eating.

I can't praise this place enough. The food was great, the service could not have been better and it has that lovely old-fashioned pub atmosphere that is missing too often these days. Will definitely be back

Bob & Charlotte took my ladies out for dinner Saturday night 22.06.24 drinks in the garden fantastic atmosphere out there had fantastic food and drinks tonight very busy bar & kitchen food was fantastic hot didn't wait long but never a problem anyway thanks guys & girls in the bar and kitchen always a cracking evening your local pub use it its well worth it thanks Bob to you and the team. Once again visited the Wivern on the 25th May with my cousin and chocolate labrador Lucy. We again had excellent service from all the staff food great would recommend to all

Three of us visited for a late lunch. I chose Nachos and the others had Steak Fajitas and a breakfast. The staff were excellent and friendly. We’ll happily return.

The most amazing pub stop in a while , greeted by the lovely Sasha , who was very attentive , and should get a promotion .We decided to stop for a bit of dinner and was taken back on how amazing the wings were , best weve ever tasted , would recommend the chimichurri sauce , the staff could not do enough and were so surprised at a good local pub find .Were coming back to sample the Sunday roast soon x table 16 great value as well , there isn't a place local like this , try the wings

We came in today Sunday 30th March for Sunday lunch and few drinks, food fantastic 6x best ever , James always a star fantastic staff, we always send a review at the wyvern we love it people out there try it you won't be disappointed it's our local pub good food, good service ,and best of all my favourite 6x bitter fantastic thanks again Bob and staff we will be vack .

Turned up today, last minute, with 11 residents plus staff, from local care home. The amazing Sasha made us feel so welcome, held doors open, rearranged furniture and took our orders from the table. It was a great atmosphere and is now our favourite pub to visit. We shall be returning soon - but will give you a bit more notice next time! Thank you

We had an extremely good lunch but most importantly received quite exceptional service. I hate to think of myself as disabled, but I'm certainly rather limited in what I can do, and the staff went out of their way to find us a place to park the car and then a place to park me. On top of that I thoroughly enjoyed a sirloin steak - not something I normally choose in a pub.

We've just had the newly added to the menu all day breakfast, very nice and value for money. Will definitely be ordering again and again

Took my good lady and my boys out for my birthday and we all had the 10oz sirloin. Was here a couple of years ago for the same occasion and at that time, we had the best steak we’d had in years. Needless to say, they knocked it out the park again👍😋. They were cooked and seasoned perfectly and were soooooo tasty. Lovely wyvern sharing platter to start too. Warm, friendly and attentive service from all the guys too. Thx again Bob and the team for looking after us again so well and we’ll be back again soon!!

Went to a wedding anniversary celebration here, and just want to give a feedback on the buffet provided, which was really excellent, such a good variety of delicious hot and cold buffet food, nicely presented and the staff were helpful. Would recommend.

Attended a private party with a buffet. We had a separate area within the pub which was perfect and the buffet was probably the best I have ever had at a function - well done chef.

Had a lovely meal with a group of 9 friends from my old work place. Everyone enjoyed their meal. From salads to firecracker chicken strips. All served with a smile. Nothing was too much of a problem and able to pay at the table.

What a fab place...Finally stopped by after being recommended by friends..So much delicious food to choose from we were spoilt for choice....I finally opted for the Grilled Chicken Skewers which were lovely and moist along with the Couscous which was full of flavour......Watching other plates of food being delivered I will definitely be back to sample other delicious looking fare.....

I pop in every so often not quite part of the furniture, have a pint of cider and watch the sports on their loads of TV's, music is always at the right level. So 2 years ago I did the cheesey chip challenge for pubs in Surry and Hampshire. The Wyvern kick that into touch with cheese down to the bottom chip with a small cheese on the side, chips cooked to perfection crispy, well today I tried the Salt, dill & lemon dusted Calamari, cooked by the boss, so a full bowl cooked to perfection tasted lovely, now I am a majo man and he even grilled the lemon so it went great, very enjoyable as is the service and overall atmosphere, everyone welcome if fact I see more workers managers from other local pubs here so it must be good. 100% yet again. The worst pub for food I have ever gone in. The GM needs to sack chef the worst chicken skewers ever proper processed chicken at its worst the 8 inch bbq pizza what an absolute insult it was cooked I’m guessing by someone whose at kindergarten literally. The salt content alone was nasty cheap foul and grim. Proper poor preparation planning and poor management clearly.

I just want to give a big shout out to Bobby and his team yesterday. They organized a great Christmas dinner so all our family could get together. Yes I know it’s a little odd to have Christmas dinner in August. This is the first time in many years, our family have managed to get together. We had family from different parts of Australia, Somerset and Bury St Edmunds. They pulled out all the shops. We had a wonderful, tasty Christmas dinner with all the trimmings. We had a beautifully decorated Christmas tree table decks along with the Christmas crackers. We also had Christmas music in the background to top it off. We even had a visit from Bobby the elf it’s not the first special occasion we have had there and I’m sure it won’t be the last a big thank you from all of us .

Once again visited the Wivern excellent food excellent service definitely visit again had my dog with me made very welcome visited with my cousin Barbara Cox and family hope to be back in October

Popped in for lunch and were greeted with friendly staff and easy to understand COVID instructions. Full menu was available along with a varied snack menu. Service was slick and surroundings were clean and Christmassy. Would definitely recommend.

Just been to try the new sandwich menu at the Wyvern, and certainly wasn’t disappointed. All of the staff members were polite and attentive from start to finish. Tim recommended the Piccalilli Circus sandwich, and it really was fantastic. It was a meal in itself. It was served with a generous side salad and a portion of chips, and all for a great price too. I’ll certainly be back to try one of the other sandwich offerings in the near future. Keep up the great work

The pub is nice inside and has a good outdoor area and friendly staff. However...I’ve been a few times recently for a Thursday night pub quiz, which I would recommend BUT every time they have messed up my booking, which was unbelievably frustrating. First time failed to write in the book and we had to crowd around a small table on stools, and second time they wrote the wrong time down and we had to sit outside.
