Excellent service, friendly and efficient staff. We enjoyed a lovely relaxed Sunday lunch. The carvery was very good, all hot and well cooked and good value. A well managed pub and restaurant.

Lovely atmosphere, got us fitted in considering it's Easter Sunday. Carvery was lovely, very generous meat portions too. Fresh veg, loads to choose from. My partner had the burger and said it was one of the best burgers he has had! - he is extremely fussy, so this speaks volumes from him. Our waitress Becky was absolutely lovely, she was so hands on, and very accommodating to a large group of us. She was very polite, and very interactive with us. Which is lovely. Service is key to a good meal out, and Becky certainly delivered.

The menu was uninspiring and it seemed soulless. Having said that it was quite busy, service was slow (considering the menu was quick cook items). There was nothing actually wrong, it did the job but nothing more.

Been here several times, but this was our first Sunday lunch , we were in the conservatory , though busy the tables were a good distance apart ! EXCELLENT , food , service , ambiance and the whole experience ,including the value for money ! We opted for the Sunday roast from the carvery , beef, pork or Turkey , fantastic choice of vegetable and the biggest Yorkshire puddings you could wish for ! Highly recommended 👍 P.S. Gravy was to die for 👌

Went for Sunday Lunch with family, due to recent funeral. There were 12 of us and we only booked 1 day in advance, with staff very helpful. Sunday Roast was excellent - 3 choices of Meat and lots of Fresh Cooked Vegetables. Very reasonably priced. My brother used this pub regularly and reminded me that we had had a meal there about 15 years ago.

We were talking about this place while we were out last week & we were told that is is still very good so we booked the Sunday Carvery & we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch . Choice of meat , plenty of vegetables to choose from & yorkshire puddings & gravy & it was lovely & hot & delicious . Great service , happy staff . I would definitely recommend it here , we will be going back again

My wife booked a Sunday lunch for our anniversary dinner. On arriving we were shown our table and went for the Sunday lunch option at the carvery, I was told by the waitress to tell the person behind the counter I was gluten free. On selecting my roast dinner, I could not have a Yorkshire pudding or any stuffing and had to wait for my gluten free gravy. The meal was ok but nothing special. For dessert I could have strawberry ice cream and nothing else. I did mention that I thought they could be had for false advertising as they advertised gluten free meals. My wife did post a review on Facebook but as it was a negative review, they took it down. I will not be going there again.

If you are looking for a cosy pub to have a romantic meal, then this is not the place for you, especially early evening. It is very "open plan" with young children running around, who can be a little noisy. Saying that, if you want good food, and decent prices, then give them a try, the sausage and mash is excellent, not complaints about the food at all, It is clean, and functional.

Visited here Easter Saturday with 7 family members. Very friendly & efficient service from Zoe, Scott & Mica, well done. Good Pub food and huge portions. Nice friendly & relaxed atmosphere with several rooms to eat in, a conservatory and outside eating with play area for the kids. Also 2 Pool tables and darts which keeps the older kids entertained whilst Adults can have a leisurely meal and drink. Lovely party room too. Good value; 7 main meals with drinks and 3 desserts- only £150. Will definitely visit again and can recommend. Only criticism is they need increased dessert options!

Visited as a large group on Sunday, carvery day! I’m not normally a carvery person as can’t bare frozen veg/potatoes/stuffing/yorkies but as I was visiting with family (17 of us) I thought I’d give it a go. This carvery was fantastic, there was a choice of three meats and a veggie option, roast potatoes to die for, perfect Yorkshire puds, yummy stuffing, freshly perfectly cooked veg, cauliflower and leek cheese, scrumpy gravy and all the sauces you could need. The place was very busy but the staff were fantastic, serving drinks promptly. All staff were attentive, polite and generally made our visit lovely. We enjoyed our dinner so much that we’re coming back Mother’s Day! Thank you!

We held the wake for my mum here at the Wkye Down. We were a party of 30 people. The staff were amazing from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. We had a buffet of food which was freshly made with good quality ingredients. We had a selection of sandwiches, pork pies, scotch eggs and desserts which all the guests enjoyed. The location was great, we were situated in the conservatory so we could spread out into the garden and games room where we played pool and darts. The Wyke down was in a beautiful rural location which gave us lots of great views for us to do our balloon release. We have been to the Wyke down before and we will certainly return again

We visited The Wyke Down with friends. Service was quick; the choice on the menu is very limited however the food was very tasty and served piping hot. They also do smaller portions on some meals which is good for people with smaller appetites. We had no complaints until the desserts came. The dessert board was very disappointing. It had the usual cold desserts like trifle, Eton mess sundae and banoffi pie but no chocolate brownie, steamed pudding, crumble or pie with custard. None of those "rib sticking" puddings which are so tempting and so fashionable these days. It was a Friday night so there should have been a good selection on for the weekend. Anyone who has eaten at the Wyke knows their pavlova is legendary and that didn't disappoint however one of our party ordered the cheesecake. A exceedingly small portion - definitely no more than 3 cms at the thickest end. It was served in the middle of a large plate with no cream, sauce or decoration of any kind. The saying "pea on a drum" springs to mind. It was literally 3 mouthfuls. Compared to the size of the pavlova it was a paltry offering. It's alwAys difficult complaining in front of guests so we didn't say anything. What I would say is if you love your main course I dont think you'll have a problem with it but if you're a pudding lover think again.

we used to eat regularly at the WD after work , so we thought we would give it a try after a couple of years eating elsewhere but this will probably be our last visit. The attitude towards our choice of eating in the restaurant was odd and rude, the food was average for the price and the whole experience was unexpected. with so much choice even around Andover these days, an outdated and unwelcoming country pub needs to be far better than we witnessed last night.

A quick stop for lunch on the way to Salisbury from London, a random pub selected with a bit of help and advice from know it all google.A nice pub not to far from the A303 so ideal for our purpose, large car park and appeared to have a separate restaurant, there was one bar with several areas where you can sit down, a garden and a couple of pool tables. There were four of us, we ordered a Chilli jacket potato, brie and bacon jacket, a cajun chicken baguette and a beef and horseradish baguette. Together with 2 medium white wines and 2 pints of Amstel the bill came to £35.70.The food arrived promptly, no complaints, got a Ronseal moment - got exactly what is said on the tin (board). We picked from the small table top menus as it was a quick lunch but I have taken a picture of the large wall menu which will hopefully expand and be readable to show the many other items they have on offer.Would I go again, yes I would have no issue with eating there again.

We often go to the Wyke for a meal and we particularly enjoy Sunday Lunch, we have never had a bad meal at all in all the years we have been going. On this particular visit we took a couple of friends one of which has very special dietary requirements following a series of operations. We have always been treated well and the staff are always helpful and very friendly, but this time they really couldn't have done more to help us and our friends. The food, as always was excellent, but thye were so good with my friends special needs nothing was too much trouble and the service was even better than we could have expected. We all had a wonderful meal and our friend was so well looked after, It made her day and for once she didn't feel like she was causing a fuss or asking for the moon.I would willingly recommend the Wyke for a meal - at any time - and Sunday Lunch is just sublime. This is the first ever negative review I’ve given on Trip Advisor but it’s well deserved. We visited The White Horse at 7pm on a Sunday evening which appeared to be very much open with people still dining. Upon entering (6 people), we could see a member of staff (landlady I assume) roll her eyes. She quickly proceeded to tell us rather abruptly that they were closed. This was fairly confusing with the amount of people still in the pub. We explained we were simply after 1 drink before going to see Xmas lights locally, another roll of the eyes followed by her telling us she’d had a long day and we couldn’t have a round of drinks. So people… if you want to spend your hard earned money in a pub I would suggest you look elsewhere as the staff (landlady) is pretty rude here!
