A group of, usually, between 6 and 8 retired/semi-retired guys from Colwall get together every now and then for a breakfast. This time we decided to have a change and meet for lunch at The Wyche. Booking for the table taken efficiently a few days ago… this time of the year maybe not strictly necessary but in the season, most definitely. Table ready on arrival… we were a couple fewer than booked but this accepted with a smile. Chatted about best way to order drinks and meals as we’re all miserable g***s and I’m not paying extra for his more expensive meal and extra beer . No problem, sorted easily. The menu is pretty comprehensive… as you can see from the website. Between the six of us we had 5 different dishes all of which were considered tasty and good value. I can’t comment on what was eaten because some of the lads didn’t like the idea that their wives might find out that they ate a simple salad or sandwich… yeh, right !I can comment upon my goat curry… flavourful and tasty without being too hot. Chips and rice (half and half as my Welsh friends would say) and a small naan. Excellent and at a good price. I can’t comment on the desserts as we, of course, were too moderate to have one… yeh, right!Good selection of beer plus very efficient and personable service throughout. It sort of feels as thought the lads could be returning… soon!

Pre booked here on the basis of TA reviews and near to where we were staying - a very good choice. I had pork belly and my wife blade of beef, both were excellent in both quality and portion size just like home cooking.. Good beer also . Service from all the staff was friendly and relaxed and we were made very welcomed. have made a note to visit again next time we are staying in the area.

Having walked up the Beacon with our pups we were given a warm doggy welcome at this pub. Lovely friendly staff. large vegetarian section. I had the veggie chilli and found the butter beans mushy. Try sticking to kidney and black beans. There was plenty of it with nachos which was nice. As I said. dog friendly. Amazing views.

What a great place. Owners friendly and chatty. Room was excellent: clean, spacious and well furnished. It was the flat and was ideal as we could use the kitchen, which was well equipped. We liked the table where we sat and drank tea looking out over the valley.Comfortable bed, lovely linen and fresh towels. We also appreciated the covid measures which helped us feel relaxed.Breakfast was delicious and quite simply the best value we have ever had. Super selection. The area is stunning and the snow added to what was a lovely weekend. Both us and our little old Jack Russel loved it and will be returning in the spring.

An excellent two night stay. The breakfasts were outstanding and certainly meant there was no need for a lunch! The pub and our room were spotlessly clean and landlord/landlady and staff were friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was home from home - biscuits, generous supply of milk/tea/coffee and a jug of milk if you ask, shampoo/conditioner/body wash, fluffy white towels/flannels, ample storage space, hairdryer - we really didn't want for anything. And the view from the bedroom window was magnificent.Dogs are made very welcome, and the resident dog loves you to throw a ball for him.

This is a beautiful part of the country. The Wyche Innis located up towards the Malvern Hills and is in an ideal location to explore the area. \The staff are what make this in excellent. They set the tone for a relaxed break and go the extra mile. The food room and beer was excellent and the whole experience was very positive. VCovid restrictions handled seamlessly and they even manage to have a non singing folk experience every Wednesday. Well done Wyche and thank you.

Had booked beforehand but arrived late as coming up and down the Beacon took longer than anticipated. Not a problem for the Wyche Inn as they took that in their stride. Neil and Sam were very pleasant and helpful, even when the pub was going though a busy lunch period. Food was plentiful and hot and arrived in good time. We spent a couple of hours there as that time went so quickly. COVID restrictions were thoroughly applied and all labelling was in the right place. An ideal place to break up a walk on the Malvern Hills.

Not good for families. Two families of four visited at the end of a walk initially with the intent of having a quick drink before heading home. Conscious of the Covid situation I informed the landlady there was a group of us before we all piled in and was asked what I wanted to drink. We all came in and then a younger extremely rude man told me to wait while he checked there was enough space. (After I’d ordered). We sat down outside with the kids and had our drinks and asked if there was a chance of some food as the menu looked good and we were told that would be fine so long as we ate outside at the bench we were sat at. At the point we were about to place an order the rude younger gentlemen came to the door and shouted at us and/or the kids to get them to sit down and stop running about. They were sat down at the time playing on an iPhone. He could have handled the situation so much more sensitively and spoken to us as a group but made us and the next table fee so uncomfortable by shouting across the beer garden/yard we all decided not to order and leave. Needless to say we won’t be visiting the Wyche Inn again and neither will our family and friends.

I have bitten my tongue for too long. The pub could be excellent. It has decent beer, okay food, darts board and a quality jukebox. The bar staff have always been and are still relatively friendly and accommodating. The issue I have, and have had for years is the rudeness of the Landlady. I, and many others, have been made to feel uncomfortable when giving the pub business. I have never felt so bad for parting with my money. She is clearly in the wrong industry! Her customer service is shocking. If there is another reason for her rudeness then I must apologise however I hope she reads this and changes her ways. The pub has so much potential.

Ive used this pub a few times for food and its always been average and reasonably priced. However, not friendly and if you have children do not bother. They have a no child after 8pm policy even when quiet. We are local and had guests from Australia. We tried to book at 745 but they were adamant they wouldn't accomodate us. Strange as happy to take our custom other times. All because someone was rude last year with children which probably was a sign of a bad customer but have banned children anyway. My daughter who is well behaved was devastated and we went elsewhere and will also be taking our custom elsewhere in the future.

Visited with our pooch - arrived by car so we were all bone dry - dog included!. We were told by the lad behind the bar that 'Wet Dogs' are not allowed in the top bar. Seemed the lad had based the assumption that our dog must be wet purely on the weather, and not on the actual dog infront of him. We were ushured to the bottom bar, where 2 groups were playing pool and making a fair bit of noise. Decided to not order the food, and had a pint and left. Not friendly, and seems common sense not on the menu!

Born in Malvern been to many of the pubs , this pub has great views and traditional feel / some what tired interior. Been a couple of times , and had good experiences ! so I thought I would have my Birthday Lunch also my step - fathers Birthday lunch at this pub , when I arrived my mother had already ordered a couple of minutes before , she had ordered the steak and kidney pie ! not realising that I don’t like kidney , so I approached the bar to kindly ask if I could change my meal , first I saw the barmaid who didn’t want to answer had no authority just said it was ordered 15 mins ago very abruptly , then another man I assume is the chief or kitchen help was rude , then a dark haired man who I said it was my bday lunch and could I change my meal was extremely rude ! Distasteful , awful customer service said that’s not my problem! Had a aggressive manner not helpful at all think he was the Landlord. Like as if they couldn’t change my meal it’s only warmed up anyway , and totally rude , I don’t know why they were in the Malvern Gazette! they lost out on at least £50 lunch and also hospitality is 0 . I wouldn’t go there again . I walked out with my family won’t be returning.

It's a very pleasant free house with some decent real ales on tap, a friendly welcome and above standard pub food. My wife and I decided to stopover on our way to a family celebration. After a 246 mile drive we ordered a couple of drinks and relaxed before going upstairs to room 1. The bar is welcoming, and we sat with our lab and watched the beautiful pub dog stare at his toys. This is a true dog friendly pub, with people bringing their dogs in quite regularly, ans sitting down to eat. The views across the valley are sensational and merit a second look. Leaving the bar we moved upstairs to our room to wash before dinner. Room 1 is small but with that stunning view I mentioned. Mesmerising. Try spotting the train. Now the Snow White reference... the thing that is 2 ft wide by 2 feet deep and 3 feet long is a bath for her dwarves... and here was one of them in room 1... I tried pulling myself up to my 5' 6"" I struggled, and the only way to fit is to dangle your left leg out of the bath and your right leg up the wall.... it's so unusual in design I think perhaps the architects were with wine, and raided Snow whites House for the baths... never seen anything like it, and probably never will again. Bath Fail... and so to the bar for a couple of steaks and a bottle of wine which were adequate but no more.... met a couple of ladies in the bar and chatted about rescue dogs from Spain and lady officers in the RAF... Breakfast was good, and the staff very congenial... I left feeling very puzzled about that bath... what and where were they designed for before the architects stole them???

What can I say? Fabulous location, great views, handy for running the Malvern Hills, and decent beer. On the downside: When I got back form my run and needed a bath I discovered I had a room with a comedy bath. It is so small I could sit in it with my legs up in the air! I gave up and had a shower – that never got above luke warm! Bit disappointing when I needed a hot bath/shower. Dinner finishes early and I had a pie (one of the days specials). It wasn't a pie to speak of with a tiny bit of limp blackened pastry drowning in sauce -so a more accurate description would have been filling in a dish. The pastry was just a horrible soggy mess that I couldn't eat (and that's saying something). The chicken was tough and clearly reheated. Breakfast wasn't too bad. However – would I stay again? Maybe for the location. Will I eat there again – no never, and I would strive to avoid room 3! To be honest, I have stayed here before and so none of this was a surprise (well apart form the bath). It's basic and it is what it is! I cant fault the staff who were all very helpful and nice.

We went for a meal with some friends on one of their specials nights - this was curry night. We had some starters but the breaded mushrooms were more bread than mushroom and tasted a bit Brake Bros. One of the party ordered a steak which was OK but the pepper sauce did not appear to have any pepper in it. The lasagna was a hefty portion with loads of meat but not much pasta and very little sauce. Now for the curries - our only advice would be if you want a curry, go to a curry house ! The portions were big, good quantity of meat in them and served with chips, rice and a nan bread which is too much but the sauce was thin and did not ressemble proper curry sauce.. The prices are not bad especially considering the portion sizes and the service was excellent. The atmosphere is quite good as it's only a bar but it's position almost on top of the Malvern Hills is splendid. Very limited car parking but plenty in the road

We were travelling between Shrewsbury, Ledbury and then home to Rutland and decided to and arrived about 90 minutes later stop the night somewhere. We had a look on trip advisor and the Wyche Inn looked to be in the right area.We booked the pub\bed and breakfast and duly arrived 90 minutes later. We were shown to our room above the pub, had a couple of pints before retiring for a while before eating. What a view overlooking the valley and town below, you can see for miles, wished it was summer. We had a three course meal starting with battered king prawns, eight each, then I had a homemade cheeseburger and my partner had ham,egg and chips and finally ice cream sundaes to finish. The meals were excellent with good portions and well served by friendly staff. We had a bottle of red wine with the meal and then a couple more pints, there was a choice of three real ales.Had a good nights sleep in a well equipped room, good bed, nice bathroom and of course the wonderful view. Wifi is free.Next morning we had a good full english breakfast each with a good choice of drinks, cereals etc. Although we were above the pub we had no noise problems and very much enjoyed our stay Would not hesitate to stay here again.

Our family popped in to the Wyche Inn for a quiet drink after scattering my fathers ashes up the hills on a Sunday mid afternoon. There were 17 of us but the bar was empty so we didn't feel we were being an imposition by taking up a couple of tables. The lad behind the bar was helpful enough but the lady was so rude we were left wondering if we'd done something wrong. First off we were chastised for holding the door open while we all came in because we were letting in the cold, I'm not sure of an alternative method of entering a building so this seemed very strange. Every item ordered at the bar was received with an exasperated sigh and a roll of the eyes. The risk here is for me to go into minute detail about everything she did to make us feel unwelcome but I feel I may lose the respect of anyone reading this and my review may just seem petty; I'll just say that if you chose to have a customer facing job as your career the very least you should manage is not to make customers feel like you want them to leave. We spent in excess of £100 on drinks in a bar which was otherwise empty but needless to say, there's 17 local people who will not be visiting thi pub again. To add some balance to the review; the beer was kept very well, I had a really good pint of HPA. The selection of drinks was varied and the coffee was very nice too.

When we arrived although we all said good evening the staff seemed to more or less ignore us, it almost seemed as though we were a nuisance.Anyway our order was taken and the service after that was good. My son had the Pate, which he said was good and then he had the pie of the specials board. It came without a pastry crust which we thought strange, we said when they came to ask about our food we will query it but nobody came to ask. I had a steak which was was excellent. Overall the visit was marred by the unwelcoming atmosphere.

Really worth a little detour off the Malvern Hills track, especially if as in our case it's raining, this is the ideal pick-me-up to get you ready for the next leg.

After taking part in Long Distance walk of 26 miles on and around the Malverns, this little pub was a find. With tired feet and terrible thirst we ordered cider.... Robertsons. The best cider I ve ever tasted. Little bit of fizz but a smooth apple taste. Just what was needed. The staff are friendly and helpful, very clean and seating area comfortable with great atmosphere. Lots of Local ales to sample. It's a Hobdens pub. Worth a visit .

All our usual pub food choices were fully booked (only a Thurs night!) In the town, so this was a google 'pubs with food' suggestion. Well worth the 5 mins car ride up the hill. The beer was excellent, real ale pub in Good Beer Guide, I had guest bitter from Saltaire Brewery, W. Yorks, which itself deserves accolade. We were hungry, and steak and kidney pie was delicious. Veg perfectly cooked, all steaming hot. Friendly staff, good service, and a nice happy atmosphere. Classic good English pub with food. Well worth a detour, we'll come again soon. O, and hot water in the gents was actually hot - a rarity in most places. Thanks for a lovely evening meal.

If you are walking in the Malvern Hills, or even driving through, then this is a welcome stopping point with stunning views across the Severn Valley to the Cotswolds. Excellent beer from the Wye Valley Brewery - HPA - and Bard Brewery, plus others, and a very good range of freshly prepared pub food. We were lucky enough that we came on a wonderfully sunny early spring day in April and were able to sit outside in the little courtyard enjoying some lunch in the sun
