Went here with a few friends for our Christmas meet up. The place is lovely and cosy, great feel to it. However, the service is really lacking. We arrived, were seated at our table and given menus… THIRTY minutes later they still hadn’t come to take a drinks order. THIRTY. We had to go and find someone in the end. It was another 15 before they took the food order. It was like we were sitting in the invisible corner. It wasn’t that busy, plenty of staff milling about! The food was decent when we finally had it, but dreary me, the service was dire. It’s not cheap and they really should do better - I won’t be rushing back

My wife and I were warmly welcomed by Rachel the manager and Tom, and sat by the cosy fire to be served later by Helena, who could not have been kinder or more caring. She was a breath of fresh air during the terrible weather outside and was able to lift our spirits at a difficult time. Thank you for making us feel valued guests.

It was ok. Sunday roast; both meals were lukewarm. Service made a fuss of how hot the plates were. I warm my teapot more than that. (I did mention it to a member of staff. ("Sorry" was not uttered) Annoys me there's no vehicle charging, or sign of any other renewable/green tech. Good pint though! That tractor in garden in stunning!

Lovely meal and friendly staff. Very understanding and good with our toddler and newborn. We had dinner earlier and it was just starting to get busy. Clearly loved by the locals and the tourists. There is a “real” play tractor in the beer garden for the children to climb on.

Our U3A History group travelled Malvern Priory from a guided tour. So I needed to arrange a lunch .There were 20 of us and I wanted a pub offering a wide choice, from lite bites to a full 3 course meal. The pub was recommended by our minibus driver. He had used it for his car club lunches several times. The recommendation was fully justified. Due to the large size of our group we pre-ordered as usual. Our contact Rachel was very helpful and unfazed by several changes to size of group and menu choices. Even better were seated at one large table upstairs.... so had this all to ourselves.... real plus with such a large group. On arrival we met Helena was assigned to our group for our lunch. She was very efficient with a lovely personality .... despite having to walk up and downstairs many many times!!! The Plough and Harrow has a chic, comfortable and modern interior ( see website). The views of the Malvern hills would be even better in Summer. I was impressed by the attention to detail eg The first pub have ever seen that had spare reading glasses in case customers have left theirs at home... a very clever and thoughtful touch. Overal a great dining experience and only criticism is that it is just too far from Wellesbourne to eat there more often !! Trevor Dene Valley U3A

A Perfect private Wedding Reception at The Plough and Harrow. We booked the Flags Room at The Plough and Harrow for our wedding reception, and it was simply unforgettable. The room itself was beautifully set up, creating a warm and elegant atmosphere that all our guests couldn’t stop raving about. The food was exceptional – from the presentation to the taste, everything was flawless. The food was packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. And the service? Absolutely top-notch. The staff were attentive, professional, and went above and beyond to make sure every detail was just right. Our guests were blown away by the whole experience, and we couldn’t have been happier. The Plough and Harrow made our special day even more magical, and we can’t recommend them enough for anyone looking for a stunning private venue with amazing food and impeccable service. Thank you for making our day one to remember!

We were looking forward to a nice meal here but were highly disappointed. I booked a table three days in advance, but when we arrived, the waitress sat us down in a walkway at a table for four just next to the bar. As it was just the two of us, we asked to be seated at a different table. They said they were fully booked, so they took us to the back of an adjacent empty room with no heating. The waitress said it would be cold, but it was absolutely freezing, and I spent the evening sitting in my coat. Needless to say, as there was nobody around us, the staff wouldn’t turn up for 30-40 min each time, and in the end, we gave up and didn’t even order dessert. On top of all that, the food was mediocre at best. The burger was dry, and the chicken with gnocchi was soaked in sauce but didn’t taste like anything. On our way out, we looked at the other guests having a lovely evening in a cosy and warm ambience (and empty tables where we could have sat). We will not be going back.

This place was recommended to us by the owner of the guest house we were staying at, and I am glad she did. We really were impressed. The building is very large but somehow, they have managed to give it an airy, cosy feeling , if that makes sense. The decor was beautiful and very tasteful. A nice touch was the availability of pairs of reading glasses, if you have forgotten your own, which I had, so very useful. The food just added to the experience and was delicious. The Plough was busy when we attended but the hard working waiting on staff seemed to take it in their stride. I would point out, that there is a very large car park to the rear. Sadly, we were only visiting the area for the Malvern Autumn show, but we fully intend to make this a stop for next years show.

Very surprised at some of the negative reviews. On arrival we were warmly welcomed, shown to our table, everything was bright, cheerful and spotlessly clean, Our server took our drinks orders which arrived very quickly, and took our food order, our food came fairly quickly considering how busy it was, it was plentiful and of a very good quality, we both had the shoulder of lamb which was absolutely delicious! We left feeling very satisfied….no complaining whatsoever.

This venue has really come along. In the last few years. Initially I came here for a nice summer drink. But the food has since become the main event. The starter menu is something really special and is very affordable for the level of quality. The mains available are mostly pub classics and a few interesting options, care has been taken to elevate everything to a higher level. There is something for everyone on the menu. I'm personally looking forward to coming back and trying the remainder of the starters.

22/8/24 Happy to say star rating back to 5 star across all areas of service and food. What you read below was obviously just a blip in service. 20/06/24 sadly the star rating I have given has dropped from 5 star last time to a generous 3 star. On entering the premises a large pickup was blocking the entrance-way and on getting into the car-park disabled spaces were being used by people without a blue badge meaning my 94 year old Father could not get a space nearby. To add to this, the previous day, I had driven over specifically to book and reserve a particular table. On arrival today, the table was occupied but fortunately there was another free table in that section. The food was excellent however, the time from ordering to receiving the first course was not. Having timed it at over 15 minutes and probably nearer 20 minutes. I should point out that the staff were again excellent but they were juggling too many balls in the air and a large function upstairs seemed to dominate the service and obviously the capacity of the kitchens to provide a quick turnaround. It is neither the staffs fault who were very attentive or the kitchens. The fault lies in terms of they could not cope with the amount of food required at the same time. As a result, it does not matter how good the food was or how excellent the staff were because after waiting over 15 minutes for your first course you are blinded by that. If you are going there, you will find superb food with a great menu and generally a quick service however, always check to make sure there are no functions running at the same time.

Unfortunately this once good pub has considerably gone downhill. I visited with friends and there were just 2 members of staff in the whole place which resulted in very poor service. Our good was average and we waited over 30 minutes for a drink. I had booked for a birthday celebration this Sunday but have cancelled as I know we will be disappointed and I am not prepared to risk such a special occasion. I had booked for last Christmas Day but cancelled due to a terrible pre Christmas meal and rude manager. The Plough also needs a good clean and some redecoration. Such a shame.

Had to wait a considerable amount of time at the bar just to be served. Whilst waiting a large female behind me (obvious manager) cursed and swore (using the "F" word) at another member of staff to pass on to another member of staff that she was after her! As a world travelled senior, really do not expect this kind of language in a "so called up market" Restraunt. The food was mandioca and quite under classed pub food, BUT at premium prices. I live local and will never frequent this so called upper rated pub again. I do blame the management however for ALL faults. I do remember making similar comments after a previous visit. Shall NEVER darken their doorway again!

We have been twice, once with friends and once with family. First time was November 23, second time was Jan 24. On both occasions my wife was served her wine in a glass that had lipstick on it. On the first visit when I took the glass back the guy behind the bar just said sorry and poured the same wine in to another glass, only to find that glass was also dirty. He then went away and came back with a clean glass and poured a fresh glass. Problem sorted, no drama and the food was amazing. We then decided to go again in Jan 24 because the food was so good, but yet again, when we ordered wine, it turned up in a glass with lipstick around the rim, glass and wine was changed with no issue but then we also noticed the water glass’s on the table looked like they had just been brought in from outside. Food for great again though. Overall such a lovely place, staff are great and food is amazing, but when it’s not the cheapest place to go to, over £115 for 3 adults on Sunday lunch, the least you can ask for is a clean glass to drink from.

After getting lost and needing to eat we happened across here. There is disabled parking near the entrance and a very large car par. Inside it is large and spacious and appears to be split into different eating areas. There is a disabled toilet separate from the main toilets. We both had the lamb roast and in all honesty when it arrived we both thought we would be having something else to eat when we got home due to the shortage of vegetables. However the lamb was exceptionally large and really well cooked and everything was a delight to eat. We couldn’t have eaten any more on the plate if we’d wanted to, however they need to tweak the amount of vegetables, it needed slightly more and slightly less lamb! We both enjoyed the cheesecake dessert and on leaving the premises walked around the car park as we were both so full! Staff were attentive and helpful, they were very busy and we took that into account while waiting for the food to arrive which wasn’t too long. We will definitely be going back.

The restaurant is absolutely lovely with delicious food and efficient and friendly staff. Have been three times and each time it is consistently excellent.

On a recent visit to the area we went to The Plough & Harrow for Sunday lunch and had the carvery. The choice was fab and the food quality was really good. I'm not usually a fan of carvery but this was lovely. I particularly enjoyed the cauliflower cheese! We had a lovely round table and the service was friendly. I thought it was excellent.

I have never written a review on Trip advisor before but I felt obliged to after the disgraceful experience we had for lunch today! I attended the Plough and Harrow for a mid-week lunch with my Grandparents. The pub itself is lovely and the furnishings are beautiful, so I was expecting quality food to match! Both myself and my Gran ordered the light bite Beetroot and Goats Cheese Salad. This was £12.95. The food took around 30 minutes to arrive and when it did I was shocked by what was put in front of us. I didn’t think anywhere could get a simple salad wrong, but this place has proven me wrong! The salad consisted of two lettuce leaves, 3 orange segments and the tiniest amount of beetroot and cheese. As the waitress put the meal in front of me I honestly believe this was a joke. I couldn’t understand how the chef thought that it was acceptable to serve this meal and price it at £12.95! A waitress came over to ask us how our food was and I had to say something. I didn’t think it was right that we were spending £26 on these “salads”. The waitress did apologise and I could see that she completely understood where we were coming from. At the end of the meal we were offered free deserts by the waitress however we were only at the pub for lunch as we had an appointment to go to nearby and didn’t have time to have desert. The waitress bought the bill to us and said she had taken our coffees off the bill, but did not take off either of our “salads”. At no point did the manager come over to apologise or offer to take either meal off the bill. It felt as though the management didn’t care about the feedback! I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to my friends or family!

Warm welcome. Sat by fire which was very cosy and comfortable. Subdued lighting and lovely staff made for a relaxing atmosphere. Excellent food ( fish & chips and chicken pie ) served very hot. Couldn’t have been happier.

Arrived at 12.30 with return taxi booked for 3pm - no problem we mistakenly thought. Service is slow to the point of catatonic. The car park is surfaced with a gravel filled grid which is unsuitable for wheeled walkers - one of our friends almost fell over. We were greeted with "any allergies"? "just raw onion I replied". My starter had a generous sparkling of sliced spring onion. I told them politely but firmly this was unacceptable. After initially denying there was any onions they did apologise. Surroundings are delightful. Food was generally excellent. Service was not only slow but two items had to be chased. They are large and were very busy so they must make many people happy. The prices are on the high side.

We went as part of a large group of a dozen in December for our evening meals. The place was full with diners, but the three young staff who served us were very good, as was the food, With a different group of 10 in January, again good service. The food was good, the others agreed, although I agree with another reviewer that the Malay curry was disappointing (and too spicy for me.) I wanted to post this review to achieve some balance, especially with some of the December reviews, when the place may well have been rather short staffed.

We had a family lunch at the Plough and Harrow. For the cost we were surprised at just how little the portion sizes were. I had the mountain burger which was inedible. Staff were not interested when told. I ate 20 fries from the meal so at £17 worked out about £1 a chip. To give the restaurant credit it was great to see local micro brewery beers available rather than standard global brand beers. Out of the many alternative restaurants in the area I wont be back. Stopped off for lunch on way home from the Plough and Harrow which says something at the price paid unfortunately.

Arrived with a pre-booked and confirmed table, that couldn't initially be found, when it was found, there was no apology for the mistake, we were just marched to our table, ordered drinks starter and main, in one, all took a while to arrive and over an hour before the mains finally arrived, food was good when it did turn up. poor attitude from senior team, one "dumped" drinks on our table reaching across us without needing too, but fabulous service from the younger members of the team, overall, it may have just been a bad day for the managers in there, but felt like an inconvenience, rather than a valued customer (except our main waitress, who was fun polite and attentive) I wouldn't make it my first choice next time, but will likely try again and hope they redeem themselves.

this place has really gone down hill. Visited in October & had suspected food poisoning after my visit but tried again for a nice meal with family over christmas - really so poor. Had to ask staff after 30 mins if they could please take our food order as children were getting hungry, food arrived - very small portions, kids pizza baquette was ridiculous for £7.50 & my vegan burger with 6 chips & a saucer of mayo for £27 - husband got one potato with roast pork, asked if that was normal & apparently it was. Sat a further 20 mins with plates, asked again if someone could clear our plates, asked again for dessert menu. One member of our party complained to manager who seemed very overwhelmed but really no customer service at all. Wont be visiting again.

We chose to come here before we were due to attend an event in the area and considering that we often go to your sister pub (Arrow Mill) and have always received excellent service and food there, we were so disappointed that we got neither from here! When our order was taken I asked if there was mushrooms in the beef rigatoni the waitress said she didn’t know and would ask for me however never came back to let me know so I presumed that there wasn’t. One hour then passed so I asked her how much longer our food is expected to be as we now only had half an hour to get to our event, only to find out that our order hadn’t even been put through. The waitress apologised profusely and told us our food would be with us in precisely 6 minutes all awhile we were sat there without any drinks nor cutlery. Our food eventually came boiling hot and had to wait for her to stop chatting to another waitress before our cutlery arrived (without napkins had to get some off a neighbouring table) still no offer for drinks. As we were now in a rush to eat we both burnt our mouths. I wish we had just left after finding out our order hadn’t been put through because the beef rigatoni was disgusting and full of fat and gristle. After finishing what was edible we stood up waiting for the bill after being passed and ignored by the waitress who forgot our order so I had to go and track down another waitress who couldn’t of cared less when I explained how terrible the service and my food was, all I got back from her was that she’d pass it on. I’ve never left anywhere feeling so ripped off and disappointed more than I have done here! They also ask you to email them (as below) and hear nothing back

Not cheap, but this is seriously good food. The crispy beef salad is quite probably the best salad I've ever had. Spacious so doesn't feel crowded. Staff excellent. This is a place that clearly prides itself on its food and service

We had a wonderful time at my daughter’s recent wedding reception in the function room, it was the perfect size for the 20 guests. The staff were exceptional, as was the food. I would highly recommend this establishment for any event, as on our experience it made the day very special, and one to remember for all of the right reasons. A huge thank you to all who helped make this day perfect. Nick Powell

Friendly staff good selection of drinks , unfortunately due to staff levels food wasn't available although snacks were offered. Lovely location next to river with plenty of benches, you will have to park up in the town or along the road out as the street has little or no parking.

Variations of breakfast - decking collapsed round the building - no one inside on a Saturday lunchtime - no further comment

Fantastic overall. A warm welcome, friendly and attentive staff, superb food, a cosy, warm, quiet and comfortable room. The Bell Inn is a real gem! Very happy to recommend both for food and a stay and if we are ever coming back to Worcester, we wouldn’t hesitate to book in at The Bell again. A big thank you to Lindsey and all of her staff for making our stay so lovely.
