The oresent owners took over this pub/restaurant/Inn just last year. It was very run down, and they have started the enormous task if restoration. Rooms and restaurant we're spotlessly clean. Warm welcome and hearty breakfast. Still much work to be done, outside and inside ... but this place was a very pleasant one for our overnight stay.

What a lucky find! A clean, friendly 'Inn with Rooms' run by happy staff for who nothing was too much trouble. The food was well presented and delicious, the room was clean and comfortable. A beautiful location alongside the river, which we enjoyed from the balcony of our own room. Some of the decor was a little tired and dated but it was evident to see that that was already in the process of being improved.

I visited Worcester with my wife to see my cousin, and we stayed two nights in The Lenchford Inn. It's in a great location, a few miles outside Worcester itself, right next to The River Severn. Our room on the second floor overlooked the river, and we were lucky with the weather so it was quite idyllic. The service was great - friendly and helpful. The building and the rooms are very dated and in need of a lot of TLC, but hopefully the young people running the place will modernise the decor and it will go from strength to strength. Anyway, it was good value for money, my wife and I enjoyed our stay, and we would definitely recommend the venue.

Had no intention of stopping for lunch, but so glad we did. Really pleasant staff friendly and welcoming. I had the battered Cod and hubby had The Special Faggots and smoked bacon Mash.. The food was beautiful, really fresh all cooked to order. I had triple cooked chips with my Fish (Batter was lovely and light and really crispy) which hubby finished off as were loads and homemade Tartar sauce. Hubby's Faggots were really tasted and he said best hes had in a really long time, and the Mash with smoked bacon was really tasty.. Our desserts were just as good.. My Creme Brulee with black cherries and Kirsch was gorgeous and hubby had biscoff cheesecake which was really good too... It was such a lovely meal we went back today for our Sunday Lunch. We both had the carvery.. Again all Homemade and was absolutely Delicious.. Couldnt Fault it. Mentioned to my friend and we're all going again next week 👌🏼👌🏼

Goodness me, £16 for a "sharing" platter that consisted of half a scotch egg between us that was dry and tasteless, an inch of sausage roll each a slither of pork pie along with a quater of an apple, 4 slices of cheese and 6 grapes. I'll happily pay the price if the quality is there however this was sadly lacking.

Sunday carvery was mediocre to say the least. Prawn cocktail starter was disappointing. The young waitress was lovely, extremely pleasant but service not brilliant. We fancied sitting by the river with Lily the dog. On a whim we turned up at The Lenchford. I have been here on several visits over the last 40 years. I would have come more often if it had been any good. This time it looked dated and tired. The wine was average. But we did have a bowl of chips which were very good. Service was fine. Given the location by the river this place could be wonderful. However it lacks interest. I has rooms and caters for weddings and conferences. I would not want to come to a wedding or a conference here. However, if you want just a drink by the river on a summers day you will be ok here. You are better outside by the river and not inside.

We arrived as a family of 3 and a dog (by boat) and politely asked if we could be accommodated for a meal. We don’t expect Restaurant service with our dog so were happy to eat in the lounge. We had to move tables after a short while as a group of adults nearby were drinking and talking loudly with every other word being the F word. They also harassed our dog. I went to the bar to try to order food and was told they would take our order at the table (which they hadn’t done after half an hour). When our food arrived we received a Burger missing its bacon and my wife’s meal had a severely undercooked (watery) fried egg. The two meals were taken away and returned 10 minutes later with a replacement egg (same meal) and bacon added to the burger. The rest of the meal was adequate at best. We gave up waiting to receive our bill after eating and chose to pay at the bar on our way out. We wouldn’t bother to visit this place again. 3/10.

Went a few days ago for lunch. No hand steriliser, staff generally very complacent and not wearing masks. I complained about a large long black hair on my fried egg. A waiter took the egg away, but after around 8 mins I asked where my replacement egg was. The waiter was surprised ‘oh you want another’- it took about 10 mins for a replacement to be delivered to My plate! Lovely views of the river, but food, service and complacency towards covid was bad.

So we hadn’t booked but go a table for 2 and were very pleased. It was 2.30 so nearing the end of service. The carvery was mediocre. We were served vegetables rather than helping ourselves, but given current circumstances it’s understandable I suppose. Unfortunately the vegetables were over cooked and the meat a bit bland. The roast potatoes weren’t nice, it really isn’t difficult to cook good roasties. But it was edible, a 5/10 at best. By the time we’d finished there were only a few other tables left. Our pudding order was taken, however 25 minutes later it still hadn’t arrived. When the table next to us got their pudding, despite having ordered sometime after us, I politely reminded the waiter we were still waiting. When it came my partner’s crumble was lukewarm and my sticky toffee was hot on the outside but stone cold inside and the custard wasn’t completely cold. I left most of my pudding. The building and decor is tired and dated. It’s clean but lacks any panache or style. It would have been fine in 1980’s but needs updating. The food is much the same! It’s a beautiful location and would attract people from miles around if it had something better to offer.

This morning I telephoned The Lenchford to ask if they did vegetarian food or salads. The reply was, yes we do, we also do vegan. So I booked a table for my family of three. On arrival we were given menus, Looking through the menu at the 2 salads. One salad was with beef the second Caesar salad was with chicken. I said that I had telephoned that morning and was assured that they do vegetarian food and salads. So they offered to go and speak to the chef to see what could be done. We were offered mushrooms. We asked for one to be served with cheese. On paying £14.95 for each salad we were expecting something quite delicious. On arrival we were presented with a plate of simple Lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions and some very overcooked croutons. On top of this was placed some mushrooms and on the other some cheese. Now I do know that this is a salad but when I am paying £14.95 I expect a little more imagination in constructing a salad worthy of this price. The Lenchford was a beautiful place, the surroundings were absolutely wonderful and the two young staff members were doing their job well. I’m sorry to say that we will not be eating at this establishment again. I definitely would not recommend it for food.

I went here last weekend for lunch with my other half. I walked there from my house which is about 3 miles in a straight line. She drove, which allowed me to have a lager. The pub had only opened that day after the government lockdown and there were tables outside under marquees and benches available for others. We had one of the former because it started to drizzle after we arrived. The staff were friendly enough and came over to take our order. However, the food was not as I had hoped. I opted for a baguette. My wife ordered fish and chips. When the food arrived, there was little if anything on my plate except for the baguette itself. A small bit of salad with a tinge of dressing, no fries or anything. This cost me nearly £7. The Fish and Chips was clearly not something you would see from your average fish and chip shop which suggested it was something microwaved from frozen. There were quite a few chips on the plate but again little else. This cost nearly £12. When we added the lager and her Diet Coke, the bill came to £25.If they really want to keep customers they need to do better than this. For those interested in making comparisons, they should read my recent post about the Star in at Ashton Under Hill. The food there was plentiful and we had to wrap up half our food and take it home. This in comparison, was like chalk and cheese. Please think a little better about your menu otherwise customers may not return. It's a pity really as this place sits right by the river and the surroundings are really beautiful.

This was our first meal out since the Covid restrictions lessened. We were staying in our motorhome nearby and decided to eat at The Lenchford Inn on Friday evening, 14th August, 2020. We didn’t feel like a large meal so ordered a ham baguette and a bacon,Brie and cranberry baguette. Well, they were probably the best filled baguettes that we have ever had. The ham was absolutely delicious and was obviously home cooked and off the bone and my husband’s bacon, Brie and cranberry was equally delicious. Even the chips we ordered were well cooked and tasty. We also got talking to a man on the next table who was having fish and chips and his also looked top notch and he was delighted with it. The waitress was more focused on the bar than the restaurant. Had to keep leaving the table to order, like we were at a wetherspoons...The quality of the food was really poor and the beef tasted off, like the chefs didn’t care what they were plating up, as we were the last table to serve for the night. Came home with an upset stomach. Only nice thing about the place was the wood fire. I wouldn’t eat here again and wouldn’t recommend the place. Would rather go to the holt fleet down the road.

On bank holiday Monday we popped here for a drink and light lunch as it was very hot and sunny thought it would be nice to sit by the river. We arrived at 1.10 pm and went into the bar to order food and drink. Lady behind bar said she was a chef short and our basket meal of fish goujons and chips would be about 40 mins. We went outside and found a wooden table which had seen better days and a broken wooden chair, so we got our own chairs out of the boot and sat having a drink. Most of the garden wooden furniture was very very old and looked uncomfy. Meals where only coming out about every 20 mins to half an hour. So we waited and waited, 40 mins came and went so did an hour. My hubby said seeing a waitress coming our way "this must be ours now" no it wasnt time and time again. After ordering the food at 1.15 it arrived at ten to three brought out by my husband who went inside to see if our order had been forgotten and was going to get his money back but was told no it's ready now. Totally unacceptable. The meal was excellent for the money and very fresh but it was supposed to be a snack for lunch not mid afternoon as we where going to my son's BBQ at 5.30 so it spoilt that. My husband and I had our 1st anniversary meal here in 1982 oh what a classy hotel it was then, we have of course visited for drinks and occasionally food since but would we go again, don't know. They need to get their service right most of the food would have been quite quick to cook as mainly deep fried food. Took 1 hour and half to cook 15 pub meal orders (lady behind bar told my hubby 15 orders before yours) our local pub would be closed down by now if their service was as slow as that.

When looking for somewhere to get married my Husband and I decided we'd like to go for a venue that was personal and intimate with great surroundings for the photographs and Lenchford did just that. When we went for our viewing we got a great feeling and the front of house staff were very warm and welcoming. We met with Wendy (Who is literally amazing) we talked through everything that we wanted and nothing was too big or too small for her - to say we were impressed in an understatement. We obviously decided to book here for the function.. The wedding day approached and typically I was a bag of nerves but I was assured everything was under control and it really made feel at ease..The food was fab we had a 3 course menu and a hot buffet for later on in the night.. The DJ they supplied was fab he played all the right songs to get everyone up and dancing. The Staff were all so helpful (even the lovely waitress who helped me with my dress down the stairs) it was just all in all a fantastic day and the location was just a dream. I 100% recommend the Lenchford for any weddings if you're looking for the personal touch then these are the guys for you. Thank you again to everyone, Megan & James Walker.

Popped in the day before for a quick drink and decided to book a table. No other decent eating establishments in the area so we decided to give it a try. Staff were friendly and helpful and the food was great and cooked correctly. We decided to have to carvery as it was Sunday. Only criticism was the plates were cold but the food was tasty. Will be back again

We stayed at the Lenchford to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had invited friends for a meal on the Friday and everyone was pleased with the food- people chose from a good menu- gammon, mixed grill, vegetable cottage pie, cod and prawns just to name a few. Service was fantastic- Kate our waitress was a breath if fresh air so pleasant and bubbly. She really raised the atmosohere for our group. Puddings were excellent- again a great choice Pavlova, Cheesecale and a good cheese board shared. All served with good beer Gem(Bath Ales). The accommodation was really good - a twin room with an excellent en suite and balcony overlooking the river.. We awoke the next morning and looked out from the balcony to see an otter running across the river landing- beautiful surroundings. We went for breakfast to find our table had been decorated by Kate- a complete surprise and totally impromptu and thoughtful. Breakfast was excellent- full english well cooked and well presented. The people in the inn were very friendly particularly Wendy the proprietor and Kate. It is such a lovely place to visit and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay Thank you to all the staff. We will certainly visit again.

Staying as a b&b customer I am very disappointed. It speaks volumes when you are the only person having breakfast and they cannot be bothered to cook bacon to order, and simply serve food that has clearly been reheated several times. I decided not to risk eating the food and stuck to toast.

Very poor service tried the Sunday carvery VERY disappointed the food was inferior quality served very nearly cold my complaint was treated with indifference the women in charged ignored the comment that my food was nearly cold and offered to put it into the micro which I refused, the drinks were expensive and served by a VERY grumpy young girl. I refused to pay the bill & threatened by the owner with the police I told her to gladly do that and that I would wait for them to arrive on saying that she ordered me off the premises & not to visit there again. I duly informed her that that was the last thing I would do. My advice BEWARE.

we have just got home from a family holiday to the south west of england with our son and 4 year old grandson, during this trip we had a great 2 night stay at the lenchford inn, with a superb family suite, with 2 bedrooms and a lovely patio on the river bank, with fantastic views in every direction, and great food in the on site restraunt, served by really friendly staff that made us all feel very welcome, and with so many attractions to visit in the area, i think we have found the perfect place to visit, and we cant wait to go back again soon.

Having looked after this hotel when it was owned by another company I knew that it has quality throughout, I have stayed in the rooms since leaving and they are all decorated to a good standard with superb views of the river and have everything needed in them, great prices too! On this occasion I came for a lunch with a friend and the staff were welcoming and friendly when we ordered at the bar. The food came out quickly and was fairly priced for the portions served, staff attentive and friendly and worked as waiting staff should, as I used to train mine. I can't in all honesty fault this hotel from the location, the gardens, the views, the parking, the rooms, the food, the staff and the value for money. I will be returning as a 15 minute drive for me is well worth it.......highly recommend!!!

The Lenchford Inn is a good pub set opposite a pleasure boat mooring on the opposite bank of the River Severn. We lunched as group of retired men who like to try out different locales for lunch. The pub was fine, inviting and well decorred with brasses and traditional paraphenalia.large parking area made for easy parking (2 of our number have walking sticks)I (being a Scot) particularly liked the stereo pictures of the Monarch of the Glen !We sat on the terrace (food has to be paid for up front if eating outside - fair enough: probably had runners before?)The staff served the food in good time - given they also have to serve food to people along a hundred yard stretch of picnic tables along the river side.I had the fish finger sandwich with salad - it was absolutely fine and an improvement on other locals.

We eat out every Sunday throughout Worcestershire and the Cotswolds.and this was by far the most superior roast we've ever had. Landlady Alison was just lovely, even lighting the log burner for us. Barman Thanusha is always smiling and friendly and can't do enough to ensure you have a good experience. Lastly, shout out for the Chef whose roast beef was perfect (nicely pink) and amazing gravy, cauliflower cheese and just incredible carrot and swede mash. This place is so good we ought not to be praising it in case we can't get a table next time!

Food really good. Only niggle was the lack of heating. Radiators cold. There was a small log fire but the smell of woodsmoke was not conducive to enjoying food so we asked for a different table

Shame it closed down and has for a few years. Last went 2018 when open was OK. Then again meet friends in there 2015 and every year before that was such a nice place to meet

Fantastic overall. A warm welcome, friendly and attentive staff, superb food, a cosy, warm, quiet and comfortable room. The Bell Inn is a real gem! Very happy to recommend both for food and a stay and if we are ever coming back to Worcester, we wouldn’t hesitate to book in at The Bell again. A big thank you to Lindsey and all of her staff for making our stay so lovely.
