Always great service in the woolpack especially from shell , Sara and Owen a massive credit to the company and always go the extra mile .

This is my local pub but without being too biased the staff are superb, the food, especially the mixed grills are fantastic value for money. A great place to have a chat with friends & family, would highly recommend it 👍

Great food and great atmosphere, You can also order from Just Eat I did have a mix up with my order from Just Eat and they provided no help but with help Owen from the Woolpack managed to help sort the small discrepancy out great service and very helpful person.

Food was lovely, well cooked, great price and the staff couldn't do enough for us made our evening very enjoyable. This will definitely be somewhere we return to.

We came here today and was my choice to visit here. I'm glad we did, the food was delicious, service was good and very reasonable for 4 of us. Tables were nice and clean with no sticky residue and staff were friendly Had a couple of cocktails to finish. We'll definitely be back as was excellent.

Had a great meal the food was lovely and hot and good value we were told about a wait of 40mins but food arrived before that,what a good choice in drinks too,I loved the service with a smile attitude of the staff ,we had a real bubbly blonde lady serve us and nothing seemed to much trouble,we will be returning and recommending to friends to try out the Woolpack 5*

Food, staff (Owen, Shel and Greg) and atmosphere amazing!, come every week for food or just drinks on Sunday to play rock and roll bingo. Staff are just so polite and always willing to help with anything. Highly recommend place for a cheap but good meal or a good drink

Great evening. Staff were very attentive, food came quickly and was delicious! Immaculate inside and out. The kids were able to play outside. My teenage son played pool, the younger ones had lots of space to run about.

I am a regular visitor here and often take advantage of the offers that pop up on the App and also Groupon. This pub has loads of atmosphere, a proper community/local feel which is welcoming (unlike some local pubs where you can be made to feel awkward!) I find the food to be excellent pub grub, particularly the sizzlers which are their speciality. Plenty of meat and always tasty. Drinks not overpriced either, which is another reason for us going there! Big shout out to Owen, I'm often served by him - what a lovely chap, always so pleasant and polite but also very efficient in dealing with my various vouchers! He has a lovely way about him, very customer focused. I'm impressed with the manager too - very on it all the time and the staff are real grafters. I notice some reviews commenting on the wait for food, I know and expect the wait to be longer - particularly at peak times and especially when they have deals on as they are so popular. I have always found that they let me know when ordering if the wait is likely to be some time, and really that's fair enough. I recommend downloading the app so you get sneak preview on the offers - they always get fully booked so its good to get in quick!

Mix up with the food so when the plate came back out the chips were on the cold side.

Had to ask for a refund because after nearly an hour, the food hadn't arrived and it was unlikely to be with us any time soon. The manager only offered a partial refund and a 25% discount voucher as compensation. It's interesting that the voucher was preprinted. This must happen quite often! Needless to say that we will not be returning.

The food is way too overpriced and I’m disgusted with the service in this place! we decided to go for a meal as a family together, the food was quite pricey but we had high hopes for the place until some of our food never came, all we got was a little portion chips with barely anything on it! I’m honestly raged and will never return.

Having waited just under an hour for the food to arrive, we had to ask for a refund. By way of an apology I was given a 25% discount off my next visit but a better apology would have been to refund the drinks as well. Needless to say I will not be returning. Problems can occur in any business but the way that they are dealt with is a measure of that business. This was not dealt with well!

No mention of delays when we ordered. Had a toddler with us so time pressured for eating so we could him home to bed. The place was less than 1/3 full. An hour passed and our food still hadn't come. We asked for a refund and were only offered a refund for the food. Lots of other similarly impacted customers. You don't come to establishments like this expecting the food to be good but you do expect it to be reasonably quick; we can all operate a microwave. Won't be coming back.

Despite being short of staff on a bank holiday monday, our waitress Michelle has worked her little socks off. We knew there was a wait for food when we ordered, but when it arrived it was so worth it. The front team have engaged well with customers and managed as best they could in the circumstances. Deffo be back.

Called in today, bank holiday Monday, had a drink first, booked a table for 6.30pm...when ordering, was told that food was about 45 minutes, not a problem...was served by Michelle, lovely lady, polite and kept us informed of what was happening...staff shortages left them rushed but still food was excellent, service excellent... will be back definitely... thanks for a lovely evening, thanks especially to Michelle, put your feet up tomorrow...😁

Booked a table for 7.15pm to 8.15pm, arrived at 7.05, booked in at bar showing my booking confirmation only to be told over an hour wait for food, therefore we left and went to another pub nearby to have a lovely meal where we were served efficiently, top customer service, top quality food, this experience at Sizzlers has affected my view of Sizzlers and at present i cannot see myself going back to Sizzlers again.

Always a nice atmosphere, very welcoming. Food is lovely and served hot. The actual building needs improving. The ladies toilets are falling apart. One is always out of order and there is always standing water in another stall. The whole place needs a lick of paint.

Best steak and salmon meal we have had in a while

Do not go here, waited 2 hours for my food on a quiet night. When I ordered my food no one even told me it was an hours wait, I asked twice for an update and then no one even bothered coming up to me asking telling me where it was. Only positive thing was I got a full refund for it. Disgusting service, do not come here.

We were so disappointed table 4 was so close to other tables no personal space staff member as soon as we got there was rude my scampi meal was absolutely awful scampi was over cooked chips were few I commented to waitress but she was not interested half heartinly said on sorry then just walked off my husband had gammon it was okish but chips were few very very disappointed would not recommend to anyone 😔

Came here for Mother’s Day. It was disappointing, we ordered the chicken and mushroom pie at 1315 to be told they had sold out? Decided to go with the lasagna… what a waste of money smallest portion ever and completely dry.

Went with the family and had a amazing time. Food and service were fantastic, can't recommend this pub and staff enough.

The staff are so friendly and efficient

Quite a widr variety of food on offer and some decent deals to be had on multi buys such as 2 meant for £12.50. I ordered a burger and fries which cost around £12 and although the burger was quite tasty the skin on fries were like warm and portion size was similar to a small fries from Mcdonalds. The staff seemed fairly dis-interested in the customers and there was a large very loud group of males gathered around the bar which could be intimidating for some. I left feeling it was a "locals only" pub and won't be returning.

We go about once every 2 weeks and find it very friend and cosy. The staff are mostly very friendly. Their is one who we usually see (michelle) she is like a friend to us now and nothink is to much trouble for her.

Foods way better than most yet Cheaper than most. Take ur kids here rather than macdonalds it's cheaper!

We booked a table for 10 people for my grandsons 5th birthday. The table was booked for 5.45pm. There was a note on the table asking us to be finished by 7.45pm. We ordered our meals and drinks at 6.10pm. Drinks arrived 20 minutes. My daughter had soft drinks and water ordered from the app. She asked at the bar where her drink were only to be told they had been made but was waiting for someone to take to the table. The ice had already melted. Starters came 7.10pm. More drinks were ordered from the bar. At 7.40pm, i went up to the bar to explain we wouldn't be leaving by 7.45pm as we still hadn't had our main meal. She said she would check in it. My grandson was becoming agitated due to being hungry and tired. Our main meals arrived at 8.25pm. All of our group were past the hungry stage and just wanted to leave. They bought my grandsons cake out at 8.50pm. Blew his candles out, and my husband and I left at 9.10pm. Others stayed and waited for desserts. Over 3 hours for a family meal out. There were other groups of people there eating. No more than a regular saturday night. But we didn't go out for the night, we went out for our tea. We won't be visiting here again.

Great night at the Woolpack, bingo is great

Greg is amazing, even though he supports west ham, but hey ho someone has to, great people, great atmosphere especially on a Sunday for rock n roll bingo. Sky sports and the offers are very reasonable. I highly recommend downloading the app as the offers are amazing and cheap.

Group of us went for a birthday lunch. Food good and staff really helpful. Only downside was not enough staff as we had desserts brought out and plates etc. not cleared away because it was busy.

First time having Christmas Dinner at a pub and I think this place is really nice, i would recommend to anyone thinking of going out for Christmas Dinner

Lovely place. Went for breakfast well early lunch. Had a great meal, steak, egg, hash brown bites, and fried onions. The steak was spot on. As there were 3 of us having steak cooked all differently, I had reservations. But they were all cooked spot on. Will definitely go there again. A+

Update 06 January 2024: Since the review below: We same 4 returned to the Woolpack again last night to give them another chance as invited. We found the service to be good, the plates and the food warm and no problems. We will probably come here again in a few months time. (we don't go out much!) Original Review November 2023: I booked a table for 4 people on Wednesday at 18:30. There were not very many other diners. We ordered our food around 18:45 and it served around 19:30. One meal had incorrect type of chips (which the waitress knew when she served it!). That person had to wait for around 20 minutes for replacement chips! In the meantime her meal had gone cold (was served on a hot Skillet). Of the other meals, all the chips were cold. One was on a hot skillet - the other 2 were served on cold plates. On these cold plates all the food was already cold when served! We were going to complain, but we decided that the queue to complain to the manager was already too long - as most other tables us were complaining about very long waits for food and when it arrived it arrived cold. Some sent their food back! We will NOT be returning to the Woolpack again! PS: Following my feedback, I have received an apology from The Woolpack with an explanation of circumstances. I have been offered a "generous contribution" to a return visit. At this moment, I am considering it. I *may* give them another chance. If I do, I will post another review, whichever way it goes...

Really tasty food, plenty of choice

Cold pub, no atmosphere staff looked and acted like they would rather be anywhere but there.

Always a great experience at the Woolpack, Shawbirch. We went for my wife's birthday and the food was perfect, the service was excellent and the staff friendly and chatty. Great lunch was enjoyed by all!

the food and drinks were good, but the server who was to take us to our booked table said it was already in use as we were on time it clearly had not been reserved.we found her rude and when our food came after waiting almost 50/min.she then served a beef burger and not the chicken one ordered when she came with the right one she picked them up with her hands to change them and made out it was our fault as we accepted the beef one.

Food good service could be better

Winter Wonderland experience with 2 grandchildren (3 &6) both had a great time dancing and seeing Santa. Food was excellent, were very busy.

Don't bother, finish serving food early 8pm on a Sunday and the bar closes at 10pm, what's that all about!

Been going to the woolpack for the last 6/7 years now, food is always spot on and if there is an issue (which is rare) it’s sorted with no questions asked. Gregg has super friendly staff and extremely helpful when needed and to top it off, the pub has a lovely family friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend 👍
