Great food, good service Very quiet when we visited so lacked atmosphere

Food was really really nice both having a Sunday lunch, one vegetarian one beef cannot fault only point being the young lady behind the bar was ignorant when we walked in not a smile or welcome just carried on with what she was doing??..that was so different to the guy working there he was pleasant and welcoming thought it was just us then as we had our meal which was well tasty by the way she did exactly the same to another couple that walked up the bar.. this lady said where's she gone?? so top marks for the food ⭐not so much for the service guys.

Excellent through out my daughters at the university and when visiting we have excellent food here staff are very friendly and this pub has made my daughters stay at the uni good too its nice she and friends can go some where good to eat with friendly staff especially when they are away from home Thank you 🤩

Went for Friday lunch after passing the pub by accident when lost a couple of weeks earlier! Very glad we did, everything about it was excellent. Good selection of drinks, lovely bar area, very comfortable restaurant, lovely atmosphere, helpful and very pleasant staff. The food was absolutely outstanding - the chicken schnitzel was as good as you will find anywhere, even in Austria. The fish and chips was perfect too. Good value for money I a great setting. We will definitely be back.

Very disappointing visiting with grandchildren, chose there because of family garden ! - very untidy unkempt and needs TLC outdoor family garden really poor -deflated bouncy castle . Benches to sit on were really rough . Loads litter . Food very overpriced . Staff shortage and had to wait quite a while to be served .

Turned away when the restaurant was empty but told they were too busy. Could have booked a table online for 5 minutes later but chose not to out of principle. Won't be trying again. No wonder pubs are going out of business

Excellent service and fantastic food

Having recently moved to the area and after driving past the Lamb on the way to work we thought we would try it. This is now our favourite place to go, beautiful place, great ambiance, lovely staff and best of all the delicious food. The prices are also really reasonable and you can get a main course for around £14 and two course for £16.50 week days but ask what’s on it as it’s a set menu for that. After my second visit I got sent a voucher for 25 percent off mains. I work in hospitality and I know good home cooked food and we will go back again, thanks for great service !

We visited the Lamb Inn while in the local area for a wedding and wow it ticked all of our boxes, delicious food, huge drinks choices and really friendly staff. Our table was booked for 7:30 and we were politely reminded that the kitchen closes at 8:00 but didn’t feel rushed. The portion sizes were huge, food came out promptly and was delicious. We had a lovely chat with the landlord and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this pub to others!

First time visit meals not hot sent one back.Staff not very smart without being too rude appeared to be very dishevelled especially in a food environment. Our neighbouring table also appeared to be having problems !

Had the carrot and coriander soup which was OK, me and the wife both had the fish and chips. The fish looked OK until we cut in inside the batter wasn't cooked and fish looked liked it been on a diet on both of our dishes, really put me off the rest off my food and Mrs didn't eat much of her either. When come to paying the £85 for them meal I looked at the receipt and for a 1 small bottle of Heineken was £4.80 which u can get 12 bottles of them for £10.50/11. I know you have to make profit but that's just clean ripping off customers. I'm from Wales and will be visiting Telford regularly but won't be coming back to this venue thats for sure!

Pub was closed at 8pm on a Sunday - terrible. Can't comment on food which, however, I hear is fantastic.

A decent enough pub, food was OK, staff were friendly and helpful. Needed wheelchair access which they accommodated no problem. Twas not bad overall.

I'd only popped in for a cuppa and a cider. I didn't stop for food as I didn't have time. Hence the 3*rating. If it were more local to me I'd call back to eat. It smelled lovely of Sunday roast. Very tempting.

Went there for a birthday meal very nice.

Went to celebrate my father’s birthday Friday and there were only 3 tables being used in the restaurant. Service was extremely slow. Waited over half an hour for 2 starters, mains I can only describe as very average. Clearly not homemade, small and although the plates were hot the food was only warm. Dessert was again a shop bought arctic roll. The toilets were also dirty and need some modernising. A very disappointing experience.

Wow, a lovely evening for a family members 50th birthday in the new function room. Great atmosphere, service exceptional and the food was outstanding! Thank you all at the Lamb for making it a special Evening.

So, Its been a few Months since Mom and me have been to the Lamb, what a positive difference! Our experience was excellent, from our Welcome, to the Menu, The Service and Food!!! It was really lovely to have such a Friendly, Happy and warm welcome. The Menu has a really good selection of Main Meals, Lighter Meals and Desserts. The service we experienced was friendly and quick. The presentation of our Food was very, very Good and both our Meals Tasted Great too!!! We had the entire place for my son's wedding reception. I cannot praise the owners and staff enough. Extremely accommodating allowing us to set up the evening before with personal bits like photos and table decorations. The food was a buffet which was amazing. The guests said it was a lovely place to hold the party with a great atmosphere. Thank you for making the day special.

It has been around 40 or more years since visiting this pub so it has obviously changed a lot since then. The decor was great and the room was very clean. Atmosphere was limited due to us eating early evening/late afternoon so only a few people in at this time. However, the staff were excellent, very friendly and I must mention that the waitress (she goes to Idsall school) was so pleasant. Service was first rate and the food superb. Thank you very much and it won't be another 40 years before we visit you again.

We live locally but haven't been to The Lamb for quite a while. The menu doesn't have as much choice as alot of eateries in the area. My son had sausage and mash which came with onions rings which he doesn't like but the mash was the smallest dollop I have ever seen and 3 sausage definatly not worth the price paid . Quite disappointed 😞

Couldn't fault it on our visit over the Easter weekend. Nice friendly staff and price not too bad.

We used to visit before closing and changing owners. Nice to see there is a Schnitty on the menu. We will be sending any other Aussies we know in the area to get a taste of home. I remember clearly we used to spend around £90 for a family of 4 and 2 pints each. This time we have a family of 6 and only £77.

Went for Mothers Day and ordered off the Mothers Day menu for 3 people. Choice of 4 starters but no Prawn Cocktails left and no Goats Cheese left which I was only told when the other 2 starters had arrived. Main course roasts were Beef,Chicken and pork. No Chicken left. Desserts good choice 2 of us went for Biscoff Sundae but no vanilla ice cream left. We were booked in for 17.30

Fantastic food and service. Highly recommended, We will certainly be visiting again. Could not fault anything. We'll worth a visit.

Came on a Sunday afternoon, after walking past 3 tables in the bar that were reserved, we got the last one available, while ordering our drinks, staff decided to all sit on it, meaning we had nowhere to sit, thought no bother, we’ll play some pool instead, it looked like the area had been forgotten about, grubby walls, mess on the floor, lots of empty glasses, upon trying to order our second drinks, 4 staff walked past us before we were served. Also two kitchen staff members playing darts on their break, being loud and obnoxious. A shame as we’ve heard the food is really good and have been told to visit for a meal, but I don’t think we will after todays experience

As soon as you come through the door, the staff were very welcoming and quick with the mains/drinks. On the other hand, food wasn’t the best. Cheese and bacon burger was okay, the child’s pizza was rock solid on the base, struggled to even cut it. By the time we finished our food, the side order of garlic bread had only just arrived. Then waited for a further 20 minutes for our plates to be collected and to order dessert but nobody came so we just got our things, paid the bill and left. Went to pretty puds for our desert instead! Overall it was a treat for my little sister which turned out to be quite a disappointment.

Visited with my mum on a Wednesday night, nice and quiet and the restaurant is a very nice room and warm on a cold day. We had a 30% off main meal voucher and therefore made it a fair price, food was standard pub food and ok. We had the restaurant to ourselves and service was good. Overall a good experience.

As a family , we went for an early evening tea for my granddaughter’s 10th birthday , apart from the food being fantastic, the effort made for her birthday was awesome. Great food , great choices, service brilliant and she had a great time. we had starters , mains and desserts across the group and everything was spot on. Most definitely coming back. Main was a Chicken ceaser salad, with hardly any chicken. Disappointing dish in most ways Desserts were very good. Overall a nice experience, but the food was not worth it

We booked for a family dinner at 6:30pm. We were surprised to find there were several menu items that were unavailable so early in the evening. The waiter was lovely and very apologetic. I had a venison pie which tasted nice but unfortunately seemed to have more lentils than venison in it. My partner had the fish and chips which was a good portion however the batter was very soft/mushy on the inside. Nice venue, pleasant staff but not great food sadly.

I booked for Christmas Day lunch for myself and a friend, and I'm so pleased I did. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left I could fault nothing. The general ambience was delightful. The service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The food was exquisite and well presented. My friend, who had chosen from the more traditional Christmas fare on the menu, said hers was excellent. I had chosen from the vegetarian options, and every course was a delightful taste sensation.

Went in on a Thursday after noon and there was only one server Jude I think his name was. Considering how busy it was he was just amazing not once did he come across as stressed and he helped our table with all our requests. We met family we rarely see and he went above and beyond to make it a nice happy and relaxed experience. A true credit to the pub.

Had a meal here on 1st December with a group of 27 from our local WI. Would like to say that the food was well presented and enjoyable, and the staff were very attentive and looked after us very well, considering there were other large parties also there. Would have no problem in recommending this venue.

Food was nice, however more vegetarian options on the Christmas menu would be appreciated - Not all vegetarians like mushrooms.

It was a funeral wake. But only 1 member of staff there !! so he was having to do everything serve at the bar , lay out the food, deal with hot water for tea & coffee, Ran out of cups so doing washing up etc. All on his own !!! Poor man

This place is terrible the worst customer service I have ever received the new owners haven't got a clue they need to get the act on as this place will be gone , which would be a shame as it a pretty pub we have been coming in for year but after the manger was so horrible ww will never return again , ordered pie and chips , mushroom burger and kids pizza kids sized main meals for 13.95 is not ok don't extra for extra gravy they now charge ! Kids pizza was rock hard with a can of chopped tomatoes on top with a bit of cheese of course my 5 year old could not eat so I asked nicely if he could swap for burger manager said no as the pizza looked edible to her I explained it was hard he wouldn't eat the tomatoes like that but she wouldn't budge I had to give my dinner to my son I'm so angry this silly new manger who obviously has no customer service skills spoke to me so rude and has now ruined a place we used to love come and eat wot a shame .

Used to be a great pub with great food etc, went under the new owner to be given a cold roast just after opening! Very small portions, 3 anemic pigs in blankets for over £4 which takes the biscuit along with a spoonful of cauliflower cheese for £3. Unless you want to me mugged off go to the new inn down the road.

Popped into this lovely pub for a meal and a drink. We were welcomed with friendly welcoming staff. Food was absolutely amazing, there was nothing that we didn't enjoy. 100 % Even to the hot chocolate they even fetched out the cream to put on top at our request. Can't fault this pub or staff, will most certainly be going back. Noticed a lovely play area for kids and outside area on the way out too xx

Hardly anyone else there, was greeted by a young man with dirty clothes, not sure if he was the chef or not, they did not have the halloumi dish on the menu which left me struggling to find something else, windows very dirty in the back dinning room, food was fine but did not feel comfortable.

We were seated and greeted straight away, the waitress was both efficient and friendly. The food arrived quickly even though it was very busy and was top quality, would recommend the Sunday Lunch, great Yorkshire pudding and gravy. You won’t be disappointed here👍

We arrived and were seated straight away with no mention of a wait, we waited and waited.. another table came in and we’re served straight away while we were ignored. The staff didn’t seem to be switched on and if there was to be a wait could have given us our drinks atleast and made us aware of the wait. We got fed up of waiting so left without anything and won’t be going back in a hurry. Should get there act together or lose business

Called in here on bank holiday Monday for some lunch, seemed understaffed as we and another couple had to wait at the bar for quite a while before any member of staff showed up. The food was delicious but they had run out of lasagna which is what my wife actually wanted, we both had a nice time overall and would eat here again.

We decided to give The Lamb another go as it’s recently under new management and I’m so glad we did. The menu is brilliant (many pub classics) and our food was delicious (and hot!). Service was also spot on which is always a plus. We will be back!

The staff were pleasant so apologies to them for this review but the food was really terrible! Which really surprised us as of all the good reviews on here. Is there a different chef on a Thursday (or no chef) and we just got unlucky? We ordered pretty basic meals, a burger and a steak pie, the burger was tastless, the bacon had a disgusting taste and it took some time after to get over the foul taste. I needed a stihl saw to cut into the pie the crust was that hard and the veg was rather raw.. even the chips were terrible. Such a shame as we don't eat out often and this was meant to be a family meal out treat.. instead it was an experience keen to forget. On a positive the drinks were ok and the beer garden was ok with a good play area for kids.

Visited on Saturday 3rd of June. First time visiting this pub, we have been trying various pubs in the area trying to find ones with child friendly play areas, and decent food and drinks. The pub itself is nice enough and the garden was nice with a little play area for the kids. After spending 2 or 3 hours in the garden we decided to order some food,the pub was by no means busy with 1 table of ten eating and a handful of people sat drinking. We asked if we could order some food to eat sat outside but we were told we had to eat inside and there would be a 45 minute wait for a table. There were 4 adults and 3 kids in our group and we were a little surprised at the wait as there were plenty of empty tables inside. A waitress came out to us after about half an hour to say we could go inside to eat but we had decided to go elsewhere by now and declined. A loveley pub and garden but let down by weird rules as to where you can eat and long waits for a table even though the place was dead.

First impressions good. Lovely staff. We ordered jacket potato with cheese and beans. This meal was not even tepid. We had to return the meal. The staff were very apologetic and made us fresh meals. My friend said hers was no warmer. My potato was hot in the middle but when I tried the beans.... well they were cold and I mean cold. It felt like they had poured them straight from the tin. We paid for the drinks and left. We will not return.

Highly recommend the Lamb Inn, we came here back in early May for a Wedding Dinner / meal. The area we managed to book was large and fairly spacious, with a nice enclosed garden area for people to step out for some air or a quiet place to take a call. The was plenty of parking space which allowed for around 30 guests and their cars. The staff was brilliant when we arrived, they were very polite, and gave us a warm welcome, and got us drinks quite quickly. The food was great, we had the Pork terrine, and Roast Beef which was great (just felt that we needed a bit more gravy), and we heard that the prawn cocktails and Soup were also great along with the Salmon. The food was served on time and hot with a large bowl of vegetables on the side for people to pick how much or little they wanted. Highly recommend coming here if you are in the area for a drink and some food.

We have just returned from our meal at the Lamb and both our meals and desserts were delicious,we could not fault the food at all,our first visit here was the end of last year so it was interesting to see if anything had changed but it hadn't this experience was as good has our first visit. I would also like to thank the staff for being so friendly and making us feel so welcome

Not a great experience seeing as we're vegan and the vegan risotto came with meat in it! Other family said their meat was tough. Shame as the pub is nice inside, and waiting staff seemed nice enough. Really need to sort the food out though as we wouldn't return based on this experience and wouldn't recommend others go either

Where shall I start, meeting up with friends, starters, bullet ball bearings were crystallised walnuts mains beef so tough, burnt Yorkshires, c old plates dinner sent back to reheat, veg awful smelly broccoli, raw cauli, I did comment when a lad asked if its OK...

We were very impressed. The quality of tge food was exceptional. Service was fast and detail observed. Overall very worth the visit. Well done folks.

Poor quality food . Ordered gammon it came out dry and over cooked. Glasses were dirty and toilets a disgrace over all not a good night out
