Lovely food we went on a thursday when they do 2 steaks & a bottle of wine for £22 the steaks were cooked to perfection.

Booked a family birthday meal on Monday 10th of March normally the service is really good & staff really friendly not so on Monday the lady that served us was rude & her her attitude left a lot to be desired, will really think hard about booking another meal here!

Burger patties resembled Pompeii school kids. Service was terrible for a 1/4 full restaurant. Another diner walked in to a plate glass internal window, requiring first aid in the process, and I overheard staff say "if I had a pound for every time that's happened"- it's dead simple; put a logo or decal on it, it'll cost you far less than the compensation. The Grazing Cow is better and that's saying something. They have no internal glazing !

Just sat and had a drink. Feels a bit odd with a make do recepion desk at the door. Would of been nice to have the fire going.

Good Food, Good Service, Good price Would like a bit more vegetarian choices but over all a positive experience. Good choice on non alcohol options which is a bonus as I often can only choose pop.

Didn't even get the chance to sit down apparently they were fully booked for two people on a Thursday night firstly the greeting was have you booked!! No greeting and welcome to fallow field defensive straight away!! To which my colleague replied no we haven't booked the woman said were fully booked not even asking what time could we accommodate you?? Obviously Marston's don't want your custom?? Which I found pretty strange and said ok we will go to somewhere else totally astonishing for the lack of customer care ..we had never been to this pub/eatery and won't ever go again as I stated there's lots of competitors to spend you money with ..... believe that some customer training may be needed and more staff as the other reviews also point out....the grazing cow in Lawley could give you some pointers!!☹️☹️not good could do alot better.

Increase in prices and quality of food was not so good as previously experienced. Disappointed this time but may try again in future.

Shocking portions as pics below. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBL We are regulars on a Friday Night but Last week was Shockingly bad. The food was terrible. Cold in one case Over cooked steak fu of grizzlè with 6 yes 6 chips and 3 scraps. Not even a whole potato!! SHOCKING!! For over £22 not value for money. My Friend received about the same chips with the privilege of updating to sweet potato fries for an exta £1.50 and got a tiny portion too. I do have photos of our food. Came here this even we've been coming here for some time now normally great good great services but not today waitress slow didn't seen to notices when we called her are that my partner glass was empty so we tried rhe started of cheesey mushrooms thinking it be nice to be given a bowl full of grease I get cheese is grease and in my in some garlic oil maybe but really they was swimming in grease yakkk we then order our mains I had sausages and mash not the best watery gravy weird to have a piece of on it that wasn't cooked and these sweet sauce not sure what it was don't remember seeing it on the menu then my partner order fish and chips for it to come and the fish coverd in rock salt and the chips now he doesn't eat salt so had to ask for it to be taking back and change to with the waitress saying we'll it does say season chips is salt a seasoning? And we'll you should be asked first and I didn't see if say seasoned fish ? So while waiting for it to be cooked again it was a while maybe this was because staff seemed more interesting in chatting running around and messing about instead of giving services being in the industry my self customers first and if you have time to lean clean its work not a playground or a hoilday camp Once we got are meals very disappointed I didn't enjoy mine partner left half of his as he said fish didn't taste great definitely gone down since last time safe to say we won't ne coming again and will be trying somewhere new. My partner did say I should have ask for money back as we paid a lot for a not nice meal we really didn't enjoy. Maybe you should get the one lady can't remember her name she works on reception at the hotel as well to teach you staff now when she waits on she fabulous always has been hence I normal give 5 star reviews but not this sorry won't be returning menu now is boring same stuff all the time and food gone don hill.

WOW, ordered the 8oz serloin, £19.50 When it came the plate looked empty!! Just the steak, 2 halves tomatoes and some Rocket. The chunky chips where in a bowl...ALL 8 OF THEM!!!! YOU HAVE HOT TO BE KIDDING!! 8 Chips! Not even a bit of side salad or Coleslaw?? And they cant cook steak...asked for Rare... got well done... Come on guys improve or reduce the price, so not worth the money

The service was very good but was very disappointed with the food overall. We got there to be told no steak and on flat breads which took out a substantial amount of what we wanted to order. Then when what we ordered came out most of us had about 8 - 10 chips on our plates. I had the smallest bowl of fries i have ever had. It was more like a child's portion. I ended up saying to one of the members of staff that 8 chips was not good enough. So she bought out 2 extra portions of chips out. To be honest I was overall disappointed with your food. Considering it was a pay day weekend I would expect you to have ordered plenty of food in to serve your customers and not make luck like the food was being rationed. I gave you 3 stars mostly for the friendly service we had.

Visited yesterday 01/03/2025. Family meal for 6 adults 1child. Service was good drinks ordered and delivered speedily. The food quickly arrived but was disappointed with the portion size of chips, very small! Absolutely gutted that they've gone for the cheap option of removing lamb chop from the mixed grill and put the price up. This was the best mixed grill in the area, Unfortunately not anymore. Change is good for somethings but I'm sorry the Fallow Field in my opinion has shot themselves in the foot with their new menu. Sorry you've lost 6 good customers.

Seated very quickly, served very quickly and an excellent meal but the men’s toilet was filthy which was very off putting. We would of highly recommended this restaurant but with the dirty toilets we are leaving it a two star review sadly

The food was excellent and the lady who looked after us at the table was a star. We found the ambience of the restaurant to be very comfortable and will definitely return.

Communication between the restaurant and myself was good via email. We were a large family party celebrating a birthday party, however, sadly that wasn't to be as my aunt passed the day before. We all still met up to eat and support each other at the Fallow Field and the waiters/waitresses were very understanding when we told them. Thank you for allowing us to pay separately which created less stress for me worrying about who owed what. A good position for the table allowing us all to talk and easy parking for everyone. The only disappointing thing was that some of the meals were cold but nobody said anything as it wasn't the right time for us to complain. Otherwise, all was fine. Thank you to you all.

Lovely local pub/restaurant, great for Sunday Roast

Have used this pub since it opened. But when we visited on Saturday the whole experience was abysmal. We were left waiting to be seated while the man before the bar served “ drinks “ customers, one of which had gone up to the bar after we had arrived. It was a good wait of 15/20 minutes before we were offered a drink , our 2 Grandsons had a glass of squash each were so watery you couldn’t taste what flavour they actually were ( priced at £1.60 each )Another 15/20 minutes our food order was taken , after a lengths wait my husband’s & my food arrived, fish & chips. Our food was luke warm at best, after complaining the meals were taken away & a replacement meal was promised..The young man serving us told me our food had been 75 degrees & has to be by law. The food was no where near that temperature. A replacement meal was indeed served, piping hot & very nice, but did not make up for the bad service. Will be a long time before we return to this pub.

We hadn’t booked & was told at the desk that a table wouldn’t be available for another 1 hour & 15 mins. We went outside, looked online & was able to book a table for 15 mins time. When we went in our table was ready straight away! Ridiculous. Food was really good, but no one checked in with us, asked how the food was, did we need anything etc. Our empty plates were left in front of us afterwards & were not collected, despite a lady tidying menus on empty tables. The younger guy working behind the bar deserves a mention, as he was very good & efficient, a credit to the team.

On the whole a satisfactory visit… only disappointment was the lack tartar sauce and to be told by the young man who served us that it wasn’t their fault!!!

Hunters chicken was nothing special but ok. Side salad was black on the edges, definitely more than three days old. Tomato soup was warm not hot. So 3/10 for meal. Staff 10/10. I did tell them about the food and the waitress's said they were sorry. But it should never left the kitchen like that ! So head chef your standards slipped. Value for money not really.

Fantastic visit, easy to book online for a meal and then stay for the quiz. Brand new menu that day which was fabulous. We had four different main dishes. Personally I had the lamb main and it was absolutely delicious. Service was fantastic and as on our previous visit a very warm welcome was received. Can’t recommend this place highly enough.

Eals were hard and dry. Obviously heated in microwave.eat was inedible. Kids meal were the same. At £16+ and £8+. Waste of money

The Staff were great, friendly and helpful. The food was good, however the portion size for the cost REALLY let the meal down. Come on chips don’t cost that much, make the plate full ish not half empty!! It creates a bad feeling towards the meal that doesn’t need to be there

Good food good service and food discount brilliant

Slow to acknowledge us waiting to be seated. When seated however, things changed for the better. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, she took our order quickly and efficiently. We had ordered our drinks at the bar to save waiting. Our food,1 mixed grill (a proper one with lamb chop, not cheap chicken alternative like most mixed grills nowadays), 1 sirloin steak and a child's fish and chips, was served quickly super hot and cooked to our liking. It was flavoursome and nice although a few more chips might have been better. Our only criticism is the mushrooms black, very black old earthy mushrooms. At the end of our meal the waitress again was efficient in getting the bill. She was absolutely brilliant throughout our visit. All in all a very good experience with near pwrfect value for money. But 5* service. We will return soon.

Excellent quality on food and ambience, dining room was nice and warm, Ellis our waitress was very professional and attentive and was appreciative of our custom.

Went New Year’s Eve food was average,got seated round the back next to a large table with feral kids,we asked to move they pulled a face but we moved anyhoo as it was dead all night with as much atmosphere as a closed library,the seats were torn and tatty there were no sliced fruits for any of the cocktails etc,more feral kids on the bit of a dance floor with mediocre dj don’t think we will be back,

Had a very nice lunch the food very good nice and hot. We had very good service from Mark ,even had a candle on my sweet for my birthday. Would highly recommend the chicken pie it was really tasty.

Stood in reception waiting to check-into the hotel for about 5-10 mins before being spoken too. Two staff members (maybe on their break) drinking did not even say hello or crack a smile. It was not until another member of staff who was very friendly sorted us out. When the staff member needed some support, one member of staff drinking gave them support, but again seemed very put out and didn't even look at us. During my stay I needed to get my key card updated. One of those member of staff were at the reception, again seemed very put out and no smiles. Thankfully check-out you just put your card in a box to save the scornful looks in the reception area. Shame really, we wanted to eat there but really didn't fancy being served by them. The place is immaculate and the people that eat and drink there seem very friendly, just some of the staff are miserable. Edit: I can see a few reviews comment on the manners of the managers. I agree with those other reviews.

Myself and family visited just before Christmas for our Christmas get together and had a lovely time. Food was excellent, service was 5*, and they were also very accommodating and had a lot of time for our two toddlers! They couldn’t do enough for us!! We were served by Mark and Trisha. Thank you so much, we will be back :)

Booked a New Year’s Eve meal set menu at 33.99 a head which was expensive compared to other businesses who also offer a free drink at the same price. Paid a £20 deposit to secure the table but when we had the bill we were shocked the deposit wasn’t removed and the steak price had increased by £3 which wasn’t stipulated at the time of booking such a shame as we live local and would have been back but you’ve now lost valuable customers

Hotel accommodation was excellent. The food however was a bit bland, cool and average.

Really friendly staff, went out of their way to make you feel welcome and were really good with the kids. Food was alright, no complaints but not really my thing.

As soon as we arrived the manager who was at the door ignored us. We stood as the sign said awaiting to be seated but was not acknowledged. I then got bored and went to the bar where the young chap apologised for his managers manners as he had witnessed it himself. We ordered lasagna that was bland but edible. But the garlic bread was definitely just a plain cob diced up. Shame really I used to use it a lot think I'll divert from know on.

We visited on Saturday 14th. A group of 4. Cost £130 plus. I have sent you feedback on the day ,but have received a reply. It is Saturday in December. The wait time was horrendous. It took 3 hours for two courses. There was 2 young lads waiting and a lady behind the bar. The lads were good and very apologetic and worked hard. However, the wait was so long. We ordered drinks. At the end of the meal we ordered drinks. The person at the bar was cleaning down. We waited 25 minutes and then gave up. The drinks were on our bill. We said we had not received any. There was no apology. This was an expensive meal that was very disappointing service all round. Boyh the wait from the kitchen and the bar was diabolical.

I ate breakfast every day pretty much from the 18th November to the 4th December and it was good sitting warming myself in front of the fire! The omelette and English was beautifully cooked on the days she was in by Kim.Julie was lovely serving and kept the fire roaring and was good craic. Nice stay thanks. I ate in the evening as well and all the staff were great.

Have eaten here before and loved it, so went for the Christmas set menu as our family get together. Lovely atmosphere and staff, but the food was awful. Genuinely the worst turkey dinner I've ever had, and I've eaten in some dodgy places. Everyone's was bad. Didn't complain as it's not something we feel comfortable doing, especially at a family get together. So dissapointed as we chose Fallow Field because of the quality of the food last time. We won't be back.

Visited fallow fields for the first time for breakfast we all chosen the works breakfast I must say it was brilliant good choice of continental and the cooked breakfast was cooked perfect A big thankyou to julie for looking after us but the highlight of the morning was seeing Richard and Trish again looking forward to our next visit 😉😉 ...Paul deb and emma

3 of plus went of for a Christmas catch up, we arrived at 7 as we had a reservation. We waited nearly an hour for our food order to be taken and drinks order was only taken once. The second time we had to ask the very miserable member of staff who brought our food over for another bottle of wine...much to her disgust. The food was ok but nothing exciting or worth the money. We planned in having more drinks and desserts but as it got close to closing time we didn't bother as we had literally spent all night waiting around. When we paid the bill we told the member of staff about our poor visit and she said sorry I'm bar staff and that was it.

It was as it should have been. You go in, someone shows you yo your table, you order drinks, you order food, its served, you pay and leave. Waiting time was good, staff friendly. Left feeling complete.

There was only a small spoonful of mushy peas with the fish and chips

Awful service. Ordered steak medium it came out well over cooked. Kept quiet. Ti.e for desert. Ordered soft chocolate sponge with ice cream , it came out and was promptly dropped onto table breaking g the plate, and covering me in chocolate sauce. Very poorly run , defo a never again experience 😕

It's a chain pub, the food is decent and so is the beer. It's exactly what you'd expect

Pub is in a great location next to the buisness park electric car chargers are available most of the time and never known them be faulty. Food is above average for a pub chain and it all looks good. Decent selection of beers, it's not the cheapest for beer so that has to be kept in mind. Also has an open fire

What a beautiful place, the food was lovely, small portion of sea bass but absolutley beautiful! Service was a little bit slow but will definitely return for dinner tomorrow :)

We visit the fallowfield regularly and we absolutely love it there. The atmosphere is always lovely, with a super warm welcome from Mark the manager and all the team. The entire staffing team are super friendly and helpful and we especially enjoy Marks quizzes on a Wednesday evening 😁! We always enjoy the food and drinks as it’s always great quality.

Perfect for a decent lunch and charging your EV.

Perhaps management should send a memo out to notify the staff that a smile costs nothing.

This Fallow Field is an amazing place for food and drinks. The atmosphere is perfect with the lights and the music especially during Christmas. The food made by the chefs Lee and Chris was outstanding with great portions with both the look and taste being astonishing. The staff we got served by, Rich and Jayne, were lovely and always being helpful where they could. I would happily come back to the Fallow For food. Drink quality was perfect, both in taste and presentation.

Pulling up to The Fallow Field early on a Saturday evening (approx 17.55) the car park was packed, which I took be a good sign. It wasn't. We were a group of five with a table booking for 18.30. We had to wait a few minutes at the entrance for someone to come and show us to our table, whilst the staff at the bar, next to the reception area, steadfastly ignored us (and the people behind us). We were shown to our table and told that our server would be with us "in a minute" to take a drinks order. Eventually, we gave up waiting and I went to the bar to get the drinks myself (the server came over whilst I was away so take that as you want). I ordered my drink and then tried to order an espresso martini - sorry, they're off as the coffee machine is broken (meaning no coffee for anyone, at all, all night? Really?) Anyway, I ordered an alternative and returned to my seat. The rest of the party arrived and after a short-ish wait we were able to order more drinks and the meals. The server read the meal order back to us and he had captured everything correctly. After about five minutes, the server returned to inform us that two of our starters (the Pate) were all sold out (already). We ordered something different and he went away. Starters arrived in good time. Two of us had the calamari; one of us loved the dish - chunky bits of calamari battered and fried - unlike the normal rings that get served elsewhere. The other calamari eater did not like this presentation and said they much preferred it served as rings. Main meals followed. Well, most of them did. One of the meals (correctly recorded by our server) had been forgotten so whilst four of us tucked in to avoid them going cold, one us waited (not too long) for the remaining meal to be cooked and then served. The vegan curry was deemed lovely, the fish and chips were nice, Hunters Chicken was good -all the mains (eventually) went down well. Desserts? Go on then. Rich caramel tart was on the lips of one of us until they realised it was served cold (what? No thanks) and they opted, instead, for the Crumble dessert. They found that the apples were hard and unpleasant in the dish so didn't finish it. The chocolate brownie sundaes were lovely but mine contained more than a hint of orange in it that was not as described in the menu - not an issue for me but I'm not sure it was as it should have been. During the meal we had also ordered a couple of drinks which took their time to come so, in my estimation, the full car park, earlier, was because either service was really slow or they were understaffed. We didn't make a song and dance about these minor issues nor did we complain about anything on the night but we left feeling a little disappointed with the whole thing. The bill came to approx. £36 a head which, for three courses (for only three of us, two courses for the other two)) and a couple of drinks (again, for just three of us) was just at the tipping point of acceptable. Would we go there again? Some of us wouldn't, if we were paying, and some of us would. Not the best experience of pub style food we've ever had nor the worst. Service, however, could definitely do with some improvement in terms of speed and attention to detail - e.g. the kitchen could let the servers know what machinery is out of order and what dishes are off the menu so they could let people know before people order. Minor things but they have the capacity to annoy out of proportion.

Waiting staff are lovely, prompt and attentive. Receptionist needs some customer service training though! The last 2 visits we were greeted with a grumpy, disengaged person. We thought the first time was a one off but sadly the second visit was similar, not very welcoming at all.

Visited for a family members birthday and was an excellent experience. The food was outstanding and the staff are all so friendly and welcoming, they really did make our night! Will definitely be returning and highly recommend. Thankyou to you all for such a lovely experience xxxxx

Value for money food at lunchtime

Had a great first Xmas tonight. Great service as always from all staff front of house and kitchen. Jayne, Kris and Ryan did a top job nothing was too much trouble. ( just one thing the dinner was a bit sparse of gravy, needs addition if requested but no charge) I’m always left feeling full and would always recommend the pub and hotel to family and friends. Keep up the good work 👍

Arranged a birthday meal for my mothers 60th birthday for 18 people the young man from start to finish was great however there was this women that was also dealing with us that was very rude we did ask if they could bring the cake out after meals finished once brought out we asked if we could have plates and was told we do not offer plates as they don't have many and was given napkins spoken with the manager and he said we do offer plates witch we know as we have been comming there for years to celebrate birthdays were as now we would re consider coming here again

Food was amazing. Waiter was friendly. Lady who sat at door greeting people had an awful attitude. Not a friendly approach at all. I said that I never recieved the 30% off code and she said, no code no discount and walked off. Was not helpful at all. Thankfully I later found my email in the junk folder, which she could have told me to check. For a person who greets people, she really is lacking customer service and even a smile

Second time we got there and our booking couldn't be found. After showing our online confirmation we were shoved in the bar area and told to order at the bar when ready; no apology, nothing. Sorry, but we booked a table in the restaurant which includes waiter service. Obviously our custom is neither valued nor appreciated or wanted, so we'll give that place a miss from now on

Had a lovely meal at the fallow field, excellent food, they were quite busy so took a little while but the food was lovely and our server Jaynne was lovely and we had a lovely chat about other items on the menu to try next time after our meal. My son and I had the steak and my wife had the cheese, leek and potato pie. Our steak who I was told by Jaynne was cooked by Graham the chef, was cooked to perfection. The only part that let the service down which is why i took one star off was the attitude of would you believe the assistant manager Trish. She first greeted us at the entrance and we gave our booking details, no smile, no real eye contact and gave us a table outside the toilets. We asked to move to a different table, I pointed out a couple free in the corner and the response I got was a huff and a response “I will have to check, we are very busy”. She came back and offered us a different table to the ones I suggested and was only a few feet away from the other one. So as to not make a big fuss we accepted it to then be told as she was walking away, bring your menu’s with you from the other table. Not the kind of service i would expect and all the time we were there till we left the suggested tables remained free. Overall the food is amazing and I didn't want to leave a bad review because of one bad apple as all other staff were smiling and friendly.

We were seated by the door which had a bit of a draft. The food we had was good but it was a Sunday and we had intended to have Sunday Roast but there were none left (table was booked for 6.00 pm). First choice pudding was also not available. On the plus side, good choice of ales and all our servers were very good.

Very clean, comfortable room, and peaceful. Free parking and just outside entrance. Friendly staff who went out of their way to accommodate us. Great stop over on a long journey. Booking was straight forward.

Nice meal but kids portions are a little small and don’t include a drink. Our waitress was very nice.

Food seemed good quality. Portion sizes seemed small for the value and unfortunately food temperature of food wasn’t warm enough. Vegetables were cold. Such a shame as it could have been such a lovely meal.

Only one chef in the kitchen, there was a sign as we walked in after pre-booking, food took along time to come out and steak was overdone and curry was cold, hugely disappointed.

Haven't been in a while! Me & my hubby came for lunch today,food was amazing we both enjoyed it very much. It was very busy due to half term but staff we're very efficient. Nice friendly staff

Stayed here overnight and ate Sunday and also breakfast. All was good, even served real ales. Friendly staff. Nice room, well equipped and reasonably priced. Would definitely stay again.

Unfortunately this wasn’t a good experience. We were seated at 3, we got out drink ant 3:42. Our food came out at 4:06 we left by 4:20. I ordered a drink and was brought a different one. When I tried to change it I was told.’well we don’t have it’ it would have been nice to have the choice. Secondly we ordered 4 trio roasts as we wanted crackling. We were brought no crackling. When I asked I was told it’s probably gone. I asked if they could check I was brought a bit of fat maybe the size of 50 pence ( for four people). It had no crackling but did have the string. The parsnips weren’t cooked. I ordered cauliflower cheese. It wasn’t good at all. It was boiled cauliflower with tablespoon of sauce from a can/tub. It wasn’t even baked. It was anaemic and disgusting so we left it. I didn’t even want to try a pudding, this privilege cost is £90+ I didn’t want to pay but my children took me out for an anniversary and paid it. Can’t say I would like to return.
