From the moment my wife and I stepped into Woolpack Pub, we felt like family. As someone who has always lived in the area, I have a deep appreciation for local establishments. However, my wife, who comes from the north where Indian pubs are less common, was initially anxious about fitting in. Woolpack Pub dispelled all her fears by welcoming us both with open arms. What sets Woolpack Pub apart is its exceptional family-friendly and woman-friendly atmosphere. The staff go above and beyond to make everyone feel at home, fostering an environment where all can relax and enjoy. This inclusive and inviting atmosphere is as important as the delicious food and drinks they serve. Woolpack Pub has become our go-to spot, not just because of its great cuisine, but because it treats every customer like a valued member of the community. For its outstanding hospitality and warm, inclusive environment, it’s what makes them so great Additionally, I would like to give a special shout out to Alex for his hardworking service. Pints are brill & so is the staff. Have had 4 different dishes since the new chef has come in & the food is top notch.

The food wasn’t as great as I thought it was going to be. We ordered the paneer butter masala and naan and the mixed veg sizzler. The sizzler wasn’t nearly as hot as I thought it would be. The food cooled down way too quickly which made me doubtful about whether it was microwaved. The service was quite slow to be fair once the food had come out. After we got the bill, one of the waitresses told us she’d be right back so we could pay but we waited at least 10-15 mins before we got up and just went to the front. The lady was tending to other customers and clearing up so I think she’d forgotten we were there. There was hardly anyone around at the front that we could have easily not paid and left and I don’t think anyone would have noticed!

Food is excellent, but the service is extremely poor. We had to wait nearly 3 hours for the food which never came in sequence. Not going there again Disappointing

ordered by phone spoke to 3 different people to order when I paid they repeated all of my card details out loud despite asking them not too rang again when food hadn't arrived after an hour and 45 minutes spoke to 3 people again last one hung up.food arrived 2hrs after order one dish missing curry sauce filled at least a fifth of the container it came in and all the other dishes were nothing like the food I've had from there before which used to be excellent. not so this time best thing was the nan bread binned half of it .massive disappointment all round .NEVER GOING BACK.

Ordered a fish curry as per Deliveroo. Was delivered Battered fish in a curry sauce. It was not described as such on Deliveroo or on their menu online. Called the restaurant to ask how their fish curry usually is prepared. They stated tilapia fish in a curry and no battered fish (fish pakora) is used. Essentially given lots of batter with a tiny amount of fish in a generic curry sauce. When I called I was told a host of lies such as “maybe the chef was trialing another recipie” absolute load of rubbish. Would not recommend the food or the service. Advised them to state what they serve if they intend to serve the wrong dishes.

been a few times lately and tried different things and enjoyed them all the staff have been friendly and polite the prices are average to most other places. we recently went as a table of 17 and all the meals came out around the same time and no one in the group had a complaint.as our favourite restaurant visual has closed down this is now are new favourite.the new drinks prices are a deffo plus.

Nice friendly staff good food and serving good good manners friendly atmosphere we will come back with more friends must try mix Grill platers Garlic Naan chicken samosa and Haryali chicken curry...and many more.....

Ordered £70 food from this Restaurant. Was told 35 min wait. 2 Hrs & 2 phone calls later the food turns up. Not acceptable . Will not use again 👎

Good value Indian restaurant and sports bar. It is divergent, depending on factors like what season, or celebration, or what live sports is on the big TV etc Nice food.

Always a great experience and time coming here! The staff are so welcoming and the food is always fresh. If you are looking for somewhere for great service, beers on draught, Indian cuisine and top notch service. Shout out to Thaun for always making us feel welcome!

Very disappointed with service. Was not busy yet services were slow. Men's washroom pathetic Very dirty no soap in dispenser, drinking glasses were dirty, I'd rather do takeout have food at home no complaints with food good food

Got recommended to go to the woolpack for dinner wish we had not gone we decided to try the beer garden we ordered drinks first before our meal. There was kids running around all over the tables jumping up and down on them and customers have to eat there meals of them + rowdy men swearing and shouting 😳 we decided to leave after our drink 🍸 and decided to go to the Martin Inn down the road wich was definitely 5 stars ***** let's hope the management see this review and stop this happening.

Terrible dining experience - Asked us to move tables - Had to ask for someone to come over - We asked how long, they stated half an hour, took over a hour - Staff seemed confused about their own menu and asked multiple times about what we want - Butter chicken was waterery and did not taste right at all - Sizzler was a kids sized sizzler (do not order) - Ordered a lemonade and only gave half a cup until asking to fill it to the top - Overpriced food overall - Messed up the order/receipt - We simply asked if we could turn on the TV which we could see was on standby but they stated they couldn't cause it's broken - The sofa seating was extremely uncomfortable and way too low to eat on the table

The attentiveness to our table was pretty poor. I had to call the chap over a few times to get the drinks order. Starters came out over an hour, the Jeera wings to me by surprise "lovely" another hour then the mains came out which were mediocre.

Food was decent for decent price as well. Good place to sit and e.g. watch football. Indian food very tasty. Recommend for everyone

Went early and place had a few people in, decided to roder food, and owner said no tables only outside avilable. I did smell a rat there. Anyhow elected to eat outside and even when we went into the building to order drinks the bloody place was still empty. I had been going to this place which Dev kept and and it was a shipstones Breewary neary 30 years and it have been under unw management. Come Back Dev all is forgiven. Food was rubbish drinks were terrible. I will not be going back the Price is extoritionate too!

Went to the woolpack for my wifes birthday she had a biriyani and i had a mix sizzler both where to die for great portions great value very good staff very polite and friendly and they had a happy hour until 8pm so beer and soft drinks where cheap i e 1 lager and a glass of lemonade £6 10p will be going back.

Firstly when I called them they just pick the call and just didn’t answered properly and kept the phon a side, it’s not too busy and still they are not attending the tables properly, they are not treating us properly and they are treating us by our looks.

I enjoyed it. Was told that this place was awful but that was the old owners. A friend of mine bugged me to go and we went as two couples and loved the food, the atmosphere, mind you, the atmosphere is only as good as you make it and we made it good! The dishes were amazing. I loved fish pakora. The first place where fish does not fall to pieces separate from the batter. It was all merged and so lovely, I was impressed from start t9 finish. Yes, it a bit on the expensive side compared to others but worth it.

Awful. The worst meal I’ve experienced in a long time. Chicken was very chewy, told the manager Nimisha about the issue and she said “sorry I can’t do anything about it as no other customers have complained”. It was 6pm… how many other customers would have visited before me? Should have known the food wouldn’t be any good based on the place being empty. Awful food, awful customer service. Would not recommend at all. Cutlery was also dirty.

Great place to get a decent indian meal. Tasty, flavourful and the meat was ever so soft in the curry itself, naan and aides also were great . Only issue I had was I dont think the waiters believed me when I said I wanted it hot hot, and it came out mild (in my eyes), even witht the extra chilli on the side

Absolutely amazing food, all very fresh and piping hot. Have to recommend the Galic Chilli Chicken was the star of the show. The young lady behind the bar was really professional and brilliant in handling our group. However there was a waitress who did not always get our order right and there was a language barrier.

Celebrated my Sister & Mums Birthdays at Woolpack. The food was top notch and the service was great. Highly recommended whether you want a bite to eat or just a place to chill with friends.

Terrible service and London food prices very expensive compred to other pubs food and the food is not that brilliant

Overall I was really disappointed with the communication with the staff who only came over to us once we asked them to after a while to order and were confused regarding there own menu. Whilst we were settled down on a table they had asked us to move tables (unsure why). Food took over a hour to come out when they stated half an hour and when it did, I couldn't believe the portion sizes of the sizzler which were only a few chicken pieces with lots of onions underneath. The butter chicken curry was not what I expected as there was hardly any chicken and more of a watery texture to it. Once we had moved tables, the sofa setting was too uncomfortable and too low to eat the food which caused further physical discomfort. Overall we like to find new places to dine but this will not be a place that we would return to.

I went wool pack with my brother was given a table that was gi e but was told someone be with us soon to take drinks an food ordered after awhile when no1 ce I had go to the bar order my drinks an food It was a Monday an wasn't very busy so it beyond myself how I couldn't get a propa service for the moment I was charged 5poind for a Guinness an extra 80p for blackcurrant juice. Overall food was decent but definitely need manage staff as the prices been paid doesn't reflex on service given. I happily pay extra but if the service isn't there then I dnr understand what the high prices are for. Wouldn't recommend woolpack to any if my family or friends. Sorry woolpack butbits a no from me an shall not vist there anymore

Food is great tasting which is great, atmosphere is nice but they try cut back in things which ruins the experience. For example the chutney tray with the popodoms has about 4 spoons worth in which is not enough when sharing and the lamb chops are small and anorexic. Feels like they’re trying to cut costs but it just makes the experience less attractive. Been going here years but only noticed this post pandemic, before that it was 10 stars now a 3 in my view, especially as the competition gets stronger.

Went this evening, 7th wedding anniversary and the gift is wool so 'the WOOLpack' fitted the bill! The food was lovely! Staff all very polite and friendly, service was efficient. We sat outside which we enjoyed, nice area and also non intrusive. Little hidden gem here, we will definitely be returning thank you so very much!

The most awful place. This restaurant cannot follow simple instructions. We have allergy and said no to onions despite this they put big chunks of onions twice in our food. The food took 30 mins to arrive for one curry take away. This is the worst restaurant in leicester. Never again.

Visited the woolpack with family food was average drinks so expensive staff rude woman's toilets out of order had to use men's what a state they were in also if we had seen the food hygiene rating before we went we would not have bothered will not be going again.

My family and I went to the Woolpack over the weekend for a birthday meal. We decided to go there after it was recommended by friends. On arrival we were seated and told that the ladies toilet was out of order and we had to use the mens. The bar staff advised that we ask a male member of the family to enter in first to check that the "cost was clear before females went in". This should have been a red flag and having seen the state of the toilet we should have left at that point, but we had already ordered food at that point. This is the only toilet at least make already its clean!! To be fair the food was OK but we were sat next to a table of lads on a night out who were loud and rowdy so didn't really get to taste the food as all we wanted to do was leave. I did explain to the staff that they should have considered where they seat customers but at this point we were at the end of the meal. All in all a not so pleasant experience. Will not be returning.

Terrible customer service. Ordered via 3rd party app which stated order accepted. Went to collect after 1 hour and manager (?) said they didn't accept 3rd party orders on Friday or Saturday. If that's the case, why are they on 3rd party apps? Surely it's their responsibility to remove themselves from the app. They clearly didn't want to take any responsibility at all. This would never have happened under the previous management.

We had a fantastic support and service on my Mum’s 70th birthday party. Food is always irresistible at Woolpack and also always a place to go for us for any family celebration.

The food and staff are great. The outdoor beer garden has been done up nicely and with individual heaters. Overall a very nice place to eat with friends and family.

Where do I start? Honestly, the best indian I have ever had. I have been a customer for more than 7 years and the restaurant never fails to serve delicious food. Let it be starters or mains, the portion is good. Starters are nice and sizzling. For mains I usally get garlic naan and butter chicken. This is a prime example of how a butter chicken should be made. I have had lots of butter chickens from other restaurants where they are too sweet that it can be served as a dessert. Woolpack's butter chicken has been on point (spicy and creamy) since I ever started eating here. There is a good selection of drinks aswell. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

We have just had a takeaway from here and both meals were lovely the food was hot the meal arrived on time by a friendly person,the portions were large and well worth the money,would definitely recommend.

We have received a great service from Malvika during our visit to the Woolpack restaurant. She was helpful in suggesting the food that is suitable for our vegetarian diet. The food we ordered (veg paneer chilly garlic and veg kohlgapuri) is great and the food was very tasty. Thank you Malvika and Woolpack for this experience. We look forward to visiting you again.

Ordered food on 2 occasions and on the 1st order they sent the incorrect food On the 2nd order we were told 45 mins however the food came 2 hours later ! They agreed to refund some money as good gesture however they ended up debiting my account instead of crediting .. very poor experience

Me and a few friends went to eat and the service was terrible, the cobra pints were watered down and when we asked for this to be changed the reply back from the manager and waitress was “ we have served 180 pints and Its been a problem!”, we then asked for bottled beer and was told the pint will be taken off the bill, which obviously wasn’t. When asked for the manager his reply to us was “ dnt come here again if you dnt want to” which we thought was very unprofessional and not called for. We as a group feel very disappointed and let down as the food was nice but the customer service was rubbish and the owner needs to fix up on there staff as we are customers. The manager was also talking about our issue to the table in-front which we felt was wrong, making us look like we are lying. I hope feedback is given you do not continue to treat customers like this going forward!

Hi me and a 6 of our friends came into eat and the staff were very rude and not bothered, the pint of cobra was watered down and when we told the worker this her response we got was I have served 180 pints and had no problem! We then asked for the manager a Asian kid who could hardly speak English he was very rude and said if we do not like the place then do not come back , we was very disappointed in this experience and will definitely not be coming back! You cannot treat customers like this and I hope the owner highlights this to there staff to treat customers with care.

The food was lovely. The service was great. The place inside could do with a update. A lick of paint would do the trick. But won't put me off from going back again.
