Fantastic meal and the beer tasted great, what more could you ask for, if I was in the area I would definitely go back.

Came here last week as a large party. I called 2 weeks in advance to 'book' a table but was informed you can't book. The general communication from the pub and between the staff was poor. Despite securing a booking for 10, when I confirmed the table three days before our reservation I was told the same thing before they actually checked for our reservation. We were then told the same AGAIN when we arrived at the restaurant. So not a great start! The food was okay, perhaps quantity over quality in some areas. The service on the day was great, our waiter was chirpy and friendly. We were over charged by 40 pounds which was recorded over the phone the next day - I must say by a very rude lady. We've eaten here before as couples or smaller groups, without any complaints. However, I don't think the pub is used to large groups.

Great pub for beer and food. We visited on a sunday in the main school holiday season for an evening meal, 7 of us without booking ahead They not only had a table available but the menu was great and the food itself better. The best meat pie I have ever had. Everyone was satisfied with their meals, so a great result all round. We would definitely visit again, so highly recommended 👍 One year on, same great meals👍

Passed this little pub many times over the years but never had time to pop in so hubby took me on my birthday for a meal it was so lovely I asked for my steak well done as won’t touch if i see blood it was so good big portions too the starter was also big portion compared to other places we have been too the staff are very welcoming and make you feel at home will definitely be popping in again and passed on to friends if they want a meal out away from home

A great little country pub, mind your head vintage style! Great tasting food, generous portions at great prices! Plentiful parking and an outside seating area surrounded by fields, so peaceful and picturesque.

We have stopped here several times over the past couple of years. The food is excellent, and the staff always helpful and friendly. Not an easy pub to find, but it is signposted just before the end where you need to turn off. If you're in the area, and you want a great pub to visit,we whole heartedly recommend that you try it.

Nice traditional pub and beer garden worth a visit

Been here quite few times and I absolutely love it, bbq ribs are my favourite here the meat just falls off the bone and melts in your mouth.

Perfectly cooked food, plenty of it too! Very friendly and polite staff, only minor was Moules wasn't avaliable, but not enough of an issue to dock a star!

The pub is a traditional old pub with low beams and an inglenook fireplace. The staff were really lovely and welcoming. We did our first Brit Stop here. I had a cheese salad with baguette. There was so much food on my plate that I could only manage half of it. My husband finished up the rest! One of the reasons for choosing the Woolpack was because we could take our dog in.

Reasonable size portions, food cooked well. Service not very professional. Long waiting time even pub wasn't full. Table sticky, cutlery set stained. Glass cloudy.

What’s not to like about the Woolpack…great ale, great food, wonderful staff…all set in an historic building in beautiful surroundings…it’s my go to pub when I’m down on the marsh…”Perfik!!”

Went there today had a Sunday Roast very enjoyable with good service.

I have eaten here twice don't like reviewing on 1 visit . Food was perfect and for me the most important thing is my food is served piping hot ( Very rare these days ) service was good they were very busy. Staff very helpful and friendly. Well cooked hot food not overpriced great place

We were on our way home from a girls weekend away and stopped for a late lunch at the Woolpack. The food was plentiful and extremely nice. It was difficult to decide what to have from the well thought of menu. We had no room for dessert! The prices are very reasonable and the service very good. We will definitely visit again!

What was once always with a log fire on and the hanging hops with local authors books available to buy, is now quite a bland place, was a shame, a little bit of history maybe to the menu at least, where have all the old photos from 100s of years back. Low score based on this point only, the service and staff were great, but lacked its history and with that also its atmosphere. Maybe fire regulations the hops where removed, but most definitely, the old photos over the centuries are missing, making it more of a cold place with no regards to the many who have owned the woolpack. It's like white washed it's past. Which is a shame, many many events and people were a part of this pub in the middle of nowhere, boxing day hunt, the cats 🐈 and the good old burning log fire has gone, yet if you stand under it... you can still smell the burning of 100s of years ago. At least it still has that. It's always been a great place with a lovely garden and I hope you enjoy your visit, research online the history as its a very old traditional pub and steeped in so many stories. I hope they think about this and bring g some stuff back. Please.

Went to have another lovely meal and pub says open but it’s all locked up curtain drawn. Came especially to eat not happy! It won’t let me reply to Woolpack question so - it was last night 6th at 5.15pm. The signs all said open?

15th century pub full of original features serving a large choice of drinks. It has a dog friendly beer garden. A beautiful place to visit after spending a day at the beach ⛱️ The staff are friendly and lots of parking available.

Large portions to reflect the price hike. 3 different menus on website so hard to tell which is still current. Not many veggie options.

Have seen this no end of times when passing but never visited before. Shame on me. Beautiful unspoiled old pub and restaurant. Great choice of food, good selection of drinks, superb service without going over the top. Four of us visited and had a variety of meals between absolutely no complaints. Will call again when have a bit more time and earlier in the day so i can fully appreciate the building and its surroundings

Old pub with doorways to match, duck as you enter. The food was very good, sandwiches were a meal in them selves, including chips and side salad. Will go and visit again before returning home.

Found this by chance whilst holidaying in Camber Sands. Lovely pub dating from 1410 with a very quirky interior. The menu was very good and at a fair price. When you see the size of the meals.. OMG... massive. Friendly staff and fellow customers. Would definitely recommend a visit if you're in the area!!

Nine of us went for a meal. Walk in no booking. Seated straight away. Had a wait for the food, understandably as there were 9 of us. All meals came out perfect, all at the same time and hot. Tasted great. Will definitely return.

Frozen chips! No trout, and ran out of some desserts.Spoilt the meal.

The slow cooked lam was delicious, the fish was good but the burger for the children was the meat hard and not so good.

My steak was so tough I was unable to eat it the chips were so over cooked there was no potato left undercooked peas over cooked bread service was terrible as understaffed the worst experience I have had in a long time also no wine in stock only left over open bottles very dissatisfied

Came across this pub while out for the day and thought we would try it. Very welcoming staff and regulars, food was fantastic and the portions massive.

This is a beautiful old building however we waited 45 minutes for probably the worst meal I have ever had. No apologies for the wait. A clearly frozen, overdone veggie burger with a slice of processed cheese and a lettuce leaf in a cheap bread roll with chips. No garnish at all and no coleslaw because "it isn't vegan" - neither am I and neither was the cheese! Why this took quite so long to arrive I have no idea. 😒

Went on a blazing hot Sunday, should have been rammed, but really quiet and don't know why. Lovely pub, nice gardens, friendly staff.

We love this place. Always excellent service, wonderful food with generous portions.

Terrible service. Ordered salmon and asked for New potatoes which is actually stated on the salmon meal. Asked for vegetables and again an option. Salmon was brought out with chips and salad!! When I spoke to a member of staff, I was told we don’t have any new potatoes.. Should have made me aware when ordering because I didn’t want chips and that’s the reason I ordered the Grilled Salmon with new potatoes and veg OR salad! No apology at all. Terrible so one star

Well worth a visit, been meaning to go here for a Sunday roast as it was highly recommended to me. I finally went & wasn't disappointed. Great food, beautiful very old well kept public house & in the perfect setting. Will be back for the cod and chips that looked amazing

Very disappointed with the roast dinner. The beef was dry and cut paper thin, reminded me of how beef comes in a microwave meal ! The chocolate cake drizzled in caramel sauce was actually a doughy sponge pudding with very little caramel sauce. First time I've ever not finished a pudding! I generally wouldn't be too bothered but considering the rather high prices I would certainly not recommend eating here.

We had issues with incorrect opening times on their website and on their board but having given up, a reply to our Google review meant we tried a third time and it was a charm. Probably our best meal out in the area, the pub is very old and has lots of character for it. The food was decent, with a fair few options and all reasonably priced. We particularly liked the sticky toffee.

5 star great service from.start to finishing. The food was amazing and big portions. We went on the Saturday has steak was amazing hot delicious and then the Sunday for the roast which was absolutely best I've had. Absolutely spot on 10 out of 10

Fantastic food Fantastic staff and a really quaint put with lovely atmosphere. We had Ribeye steak and all the trimmings & a bbq texan burger with bacon, cheese, bbq sauce, onion ring topped with a white roll. Chips & side salad which was perfect

I telephoned the Woolpack at 12:35 on Sunday to pre order three Sunday roast dinners for 3pm, then set off for the pub at 2:15 pm from Ashford, at 2:40 pm, when we had nearly arrived, a voicemail was sent to tell me that all Sunday dinners had gone "sorry" I didn't discover this until I was inside the pub. My wife, whose birthday it was, settled for steak and ale pie, my son had a burger and I settled for cheesy garlic bread, which when added to the apology was really filling. I wanted to use the occasion to find out if they were doing Christmas day dinners, but on reflection, I would not appreciate being forgotten about on Christmas day and so I made no further enquiries. I wonder how they would feel if someone made a block booking for meals and then telephoned them to cancel just 20 minutes before the appointed time.
