Homely pub, good food and offers overnight parking for motorhomes that eat at the pub. Best to call in advance as the carpark can't accommodate too many van's

If you’re looking for a lovely, traditional English pub, look no further! Accessible by footpath, for the walkers. Regular live music/jazz nights serve as a highlight. Highly recommended!

Beautiful pub with very attentive and friendly staff, who really took care of us. Having walked there, the wild bore and 4 bird pies were also the best thing ever

Had a great meal at the George inn after a walk with our group . Landlord Michael and his wife ( I believe) offered a pleasant service. Prices are not the cheapest but the food was excellent. The chef truly knows his stuff . Had the venison and it was excellent.

I don't really know what to say. I was under whelmed to say the least.

Fantastic roast dinner, Four thick slices of beef and a beautiful selection of fresh vegetables. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that it is a bit dark inside, but that is a personal thing.

My wife and I met with friends, we had a great meal. Michael the landlord was very friendly, the food was very good home cooked and top quality, well worth a visit

Went for a meal last Wednesday evening, Michael was very welcoming and friendly. We had drinks by a cosy log fire followed by a delicious meal very impressed.

Great, traditional pub serving a good variety of drinks and the food was exceptional. There is also a really nice walk through the countryside to get to the pub, avoiding the busy main road. The pub is also dog friendly and the owner made us feel very welcome, would definitely recommend

Lovely friendly staff, large garden. Roast was a delight- particularly the pork belly. The cabbage came in a slice, like a cake with caraway seeds- impressive in both taste and appearance. Unique vegetarian options.

Saturday afternoon food was fantastic! Great classic pub atmosphere and very friendly.

Meal not as described. Suppled hot which was great, but liver was inedible, will not visit again

We stopped here with my family on our way from London and the food was absolutely delicious. We all had steak as well as fish and chips and ate it all. Super delicious food and we would definitely recommend it and return when next in the area.

We popped off for a drink after a 6 mile walk, a very nice old style pub. Landlord was chatty and friendly. Rather than a 6 mile walk back to the Lodge tree house, he kindly showed us a very quick way back less than a mile!!

Good quality food at good price

We found this pub by chance and decided to eat. It wasn't very busy but the atmosphere was cosy. Very friendly landlord. There was an extensive menu. We all had different food choices but each meal was delicious. Shame we live in Bristol, or we would definately be going back. Thanks for your hospitality.

A lovely place to stop by on your way to canterburry or returning. The pies were delicious. And in autumn or winter the fireplsce is also very welcome

Absolutely brilliant pub. Cosy inglenook fire, food was fantastic proper home cooked British food, all in all a fantastic experience. We had Sunday lunch, the lamb was lush. Perfect proper English pub!

If you want a remote pub experience, this is a good place! I love the fact I get no mobile signal, it's a nice feeling. The landlord is a great guy and there's no rush here. Food is as expected for a pub, nice and generous. There's an open fire to sit near, on a winter evening it's just the place to leave the world behind. Parking on site, Stone Street is very busy and cars speed there, be carful leaving, use your ears.

Quaint rural pub run by individuals as opposed to some faceless chain. Prices are a bit higher than usual but well worth it. Food was delightful, served promptly and well presented. Will happily visit The George Inn in future.
