Quaint, old, charming are all words associated with pubs but it is no excuse not to refurbish a place. Food was OK, service good but it was not so comfortable

Once a country pub opposite the corrugated iron church in the hamlet of Woodmancote, this is now a destination dining pub which attracts customers from a wide area. We visited for dinner with a group of friends on a Wednesday evening and took advantage of the excellent steak offer which was served cheerfully by the pub staff. We immediately resolved to return to this vibrant, good value pub in the future so impressed had we been with all aspects of our evening.

Fitzcanes

15/09/2018: During our short stroll around this little town we felt peckish and decided to sit out in the back garden of this delightful little cafe. We were very warmly greeted by the polite and friendly staff which was wonderful. One lady, in particular, made sure that we were nicely settled and helped guide us through the menu. I went for a toasted bap crammed with crispy bacon. Two others in our party had the same baps but stuffed full with sausages. Almost a meal in itself. And the carrot cake was also delicious.
20/10/2018: Just what a Café should be. Friendly staff working as a team, home made cakes and other dishes excellent vfm. Midhurst seems to be struggling a bit with banks closing and empty shops but this café was a ray of sunshine on a wet day.

Comestibles

04/10/2018: Popped in for coffee and teacake/croissant. Really lovely coffee. Menu looked great and staff very friendly.
01/10/2018: We searched TripAdvisor for lunch in Midhurst, and found 'Comestibles', which was just what we wanted. We had a generous Caesar Salad, and a Brie wrap and a pot of tea - all good. There's limited seating, but the atmosphere is lovely and staff are friendly and attentive. Recommended.
