Having been to the Partridge several times and really enjoyed it I was extremely disappointed when I suggested that my 3 sisters and I should go there for lunch in the pretty garden. When we were all together we ordered, two starters of bread and olives and various hot main courses. After an hour we asked where our food was. The starter turned up about 10 minutes later. We then had to inquire about the main course. We were told the main course had been ready when we had asked about the starter! The staff were extremely apologetic and explained that they had lost both their chefs. When our food did arrive it was rather dried up and unappetising. It was very unfortunate that they had lost their kitchen staff, but if they had explained this when we arrived things may have gone a lot better.

Pleasant enough pub, good choice of beers, a menu covering fish n chips, roasts etc. All the dishes we had were fine. We found it badly let itself down with trying to serve us five dishes for the four of us rather than the four we had of course ordered and then giving us a bill with £90 of food and drink that we hadn’t had on top of what we had actually had!

Looks pretty from the outside, but the moment we walked in, we had some bad heavy vibes about the place.. Only saw 2 staff members, 1 working the bar and taking food orders at the same time, and 1 staff cleaning up left over plates from tables.. Pub wasn't over crowded, but it's didn't have a good feel about it. Had 1 drink then went elsewhere for food. It's a shame as we heard great things about this pub..

Visited last September from Midlands on evening of Goodwood Revival to meet with local family for evening meal. A perfect pub. Very lucky to see Spitfire display practice while waiting for family to arrive. Food and atmosphere and staff fabulous. Weather fabulous too so nice to eat in then go into garden for drinks. If I were to be asked to select my favourite pub the Partridge would be on my short list and would most probably win. Hope to be back soon.

Fantastic Experience at The Partridge Pub in Singleton The Partridge Pub in Singleton exceeded all expectations during my recent visit. Situated conveniently close to Goodwood, this charming establishment offers a perfect blend of excellent service, family-friendly amenities, and a picturesque setting. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by the friendly staff, who provided attentive service throughout our time there. Their hospitality truly enhanced our dining experience. The pub's large garden is a highlight, featuring a beautiful landscape with ample seating and a dedicated kids' playground that kept our little ones entertained for hours. On top of that, there's often a bouncy castle set up, adding an extra layer of fun for children. The public events hosted at The Partridge Pub are a testament to its vibrant atmosphere. We had the pleasure of enjoying live music in the garden, which added to the lively ambiance and made for a memorable evening. The food at The Partridge Pub is equally impressive. We indulged in their delicious offerings, from hearty pub classics to fresh salads, all prepared with care and using quality ingredients. A standout feature was the pizza bar in the garden, where we enjoyed freshly made pizzas with a variety of toppings to choose from. Overall, The Partridge Pub in Singleton is a gem worth visiting. Whether you're looking for a relaxing meal, a family-friendly outing with activities for kids, or simply a pleasant place to unwind in a beautiful garden setting, this pub delivers on all fronts. I highly recommend it and look forward to returning soon.

We had an overnight stay in our MH in the car park. We called and booked our stay and a table for two. The team were very welcoming. Our food was very tasty and well presented. The only negative was the fish pie was not a big portion and not enough to satisfy myself and my wife, however it was very nice home made fair. Not many options available as it was a Sunday and had been very busy. Scampi and chips were tiny portions and no garnish... Peas or salad isn't that standard? When we asked if they had desserts available we were told the kitchen had shut. Surely you'd think to ask this before the kitchen shut, seems daft missing out on sales. Good beer garden but food and service sadly lacking in finesse.

Went for a last minute Sunday roast dinner and was pleasantly surprised. We are relatively local and have sampled most of the roast dinners that this area has to offer. This was actually the best in a long time, with perfect amount of meat (beef) no fat at all, generous helpings of veg and decent roasties. The cauli cheese was poor but the rest was very good. Service was great, wine good and ambience great. It is not busy compared to its counterpart The Fox Goes Free, but personally I would rather this pub grub any day of the week. We will be returning for sure so they are definitely doing something right.

Went for a late lunch on a Sunday and found the pub to be charming and quiet with ample parking. The garden is absolutely lovely too. Ordered Scampi and Chips and we're sadly extremely underwhelmed with the quality (clearly reheated) and portion sizes, given that it was nearly £20. Nearby tables did have roasts and they looked to be good portion sizes and quality. For a very empty pub (approximately 10 patrons there in total) I was surprised that we had orders come to our table a couple of times that weren't for us. I would go again, but I would not order the Scampi and Chips, and communication between staff members needs to obviously be improved.

Wanted a change from town so headed to the partridge. We choose this over other pubs that are very close as we wanted something a bit different. Unfortunately the food is very standard pub grub executed poorly. I thought it was all homemade but seems frozen and poor quality produce is being used. The Hollandaise sauce was horrific. The only saving grace was a friendly welcome and goodbye but not enough to make us return. Another bland pub menu isn’t what we wanted

Stellar service from Peter and the team at Singleton’s Partridge Inn (The Fox and Hounds as it was back in the day). Dropped in for Sunday roast last weekend, what a delight: the welcome, the beer, the food, the craic… all top notch, in fact everything you want in a proper country pub but don’t often find. This pub is the most quintessential English country pub you will find. I haven't been here for eight years, and the food now is absolute incredible. Staff are so friendly and helpful with a good selection of ales on draught. Very reasonably priced, and log fires give an amazing atmosphere. How it isn't the busiest pub in the area I do not know. Unfortunately our recent experience in The Partridge Inn in Singleton this evening was very, very disappointing. For a pub that sells itself as dog friendly it is definitely, our experience was that it is definitely NOT dog friendly! We had ordered our food and received half of our meals and had ordered cocktails to go with our meal, after ordering and being served the tart I was told it was not the tart I had ordered and the waitress had been informed wrongly by the kitchen, however, I accepted the tart without question! I then began to eat my tart which turned out to be burnt but again I made no fuss! We had taken our dogs with us to the supposedly ‘dog friendly’ pub however after the dogs barking twice for a very short period we were asked, very rudely, to put our dogs in the car! We had no car with us as we had walked to the ‘dog friendly’ pub so left! We would Not recommend this pub to anyone with a dog or who is not a local as it was quite clear both dogs or visitors this the area are not welcome! In response to the reply received from the Partridge Inn to my review left yesterday. Can I please make clear we were not given the options of taking the dogs in the garden, home or in the car, we were told, in an abrupt manner to put the dogs in the car! Also, they did not bark multiple times, they barked twice and were quietened immediately! Also, nothing about the managers approach was polite, it was actually extremely rude. And to finish, we obviously did not pay for our food as we did not get the chance to eat it. We have just been sitting in The Fox Goes Free in Charlton for the last two hours with our dogs without any incident or complain. Unfortunately you will not get the chance to welcome us back.

Visited on Sunday and came away feeling incredibly disappointed. The cheese board, at £12.50, consisted of three "slices" about 3mm of cheese and five biscuits with absolutely no garnishes except for a pot of pickle. The children's burger was equally shocking with a bun over twice the size of the most pathetically small patty (imagine a squashed meatball) you've ever seen along, no garnishes at all and some overcooked chips. I do not recommend eating at this pub.

Lovely pub and food was great but was a bit disappointed to be told I had to get my own cutlery and condiments when they had just brought our food out to the far end of the garden. It wouldn't have been that annoying but whilst the food here is very good it is not cheap (about £15 for a burger) so would expect the service to match. Having said this I enjoyed my evening and am sure I will return one day.

Oh my dear God! If you're a tourist/visitor/not a local forget about this place! You'll wait close to an hour to get food served ( everyone else who comes after you gets priority). Then you find out your order has been completely forgotten but not too worry as 'it will be with you in a minute''! Ok so there goes food cooked properly since they are in a rush! Now to top it up fish and chips for which you pay £14.00 you'll get the tyniest piece of fish in the town and 16 pieces of chips! Counted! Go to any other pub in the area avoid this one! Update: manager was really nice apologised and didn't charge for the mains. Thumbs up to her! Mistakes can happen anytime.

Pint of Guinness was one of the worst I’ve ever had, vegetarian options were minimal at best and the portions sizes were appalling, I had a £12.50 burger and chips and It came with a handful of small fries. Situated at the base of the South Downs with several established walks, South Downs Way, Monarch Way, New Lipchis Way, Sussex Litery Trail it is ideally placed for walkers, cyclists etc. If that isn't enough, the Weald and Downland open museum and Goodward are very close. The Partridge Inn is ideal for a pint and lunch, stopovers for whatever duration you want.

A long overdue revisit. Firstly I love the location. The welcome is great, but best of all is the food and drink – turns it into a wonderful place to be. The toasted sandwiches are labelled by cyclists - I had the Wiggo – kale, pesto, cheddar and onion chutney. Delicious! And the coffee was superb. Another part of the attraction is that I am really looking forward to being there again!

A very interesting cafe tucked away down a side passage to this whole food shop. Greeted by the aroma of tasty smells. Ideal for a coffee stop. There were many books and newspapers to keep one amused. There was a selection of healthy foods on offer but essentially I visited with a friend for coffee. No background music which is good as we had a good uninterrupted conversatiin.
