We had booked to visist for a lunch time meal on our wedding anniversary. We had a lovely chat when we booked and looked forward to it. However, when we turned up we were told that the restaurant was closed! The member of staff did apologise but made no effort to find out what had gone wrong and we were left to find an alterntive venue. Not happy!!

We really enjoyed our meal at The Angel. As it happened things did go a bit wrong but the waitress/manager was absolutely superb in her handling of it. The food was good, atmosphere nice and very reasonable indeed.

We went on spec for lunch as our first choice was closed. We were very glad we did. A warm and friendly reception ans a generously sized table. I ordered moulesi which were superb. Large, fat and perfectly cooked with an excellent cream sauce. My wife had chicken. Moist and tender and very good flavour. A very good cheeseboard to finish.

My partner and I came here for a post Valentine's meal out as a last minute decision and were not dissapointed! We ordered from both the main menu and specials board. My partner had smoked salmon to start and I had the homemade French onion soup which was delicious....we both opted for steak for our mains which was also perfect. The waiting staff were very attentive and catered to our every need. Thank you to the angel for giving us a real treat of an evening out.

The 3 course for £20 A-board caught our eye and we weren't disappointed. Lovely atmosphere, efficient and friendly service and really nice food. Simple menu, only 4 choices per course, but that was a really nice change from seeing a menu with way too many things on. Offer less and do it well is a good alternative! Left feeling very contented! Would recommend and will return.

Popped in here yesterday as we past through the quaint town of Midhurst and we’re more then happy that we chose here! We parked in their own car park which is rare in such a small town- and it was free parking whereas most other places in the area you would have to park on the road (which only has an hour limit). The inside is lovely where tradition meets modern with original brick walls behind the bar styled with mood lighting and mirrored walls to give it a trendy quirkiness. They have a wide variety of spirits (especially gins- yippee!) as well as wines and a few beers- all very reasonably priced. We ordered two steak baguettes with the bar man Hamish I believe was his name who told us about their courtyard- it was surprisingly a sunny day for October, so we decided to sit out here. They’ve styled the courtyard very nicely for the size of it- with comfy outdoor sofas and chairs- would like to come back and see this in the evening. The food was brought out by Molly the manager, very young woman with lots of insight to the local area- a real charmer. Food was delicious!!! Would highly recommend the baguette to anyone who’s wanting a quick bite to eat. All in all a very pleasant visit to the angel and would highly recommend to anyone and everyone!

The meal is always outstanding. I tend to go for the fish/seafood option as it's as fresh as can be! I believe someone goes down to the coast to collect it very early in the morning! The atmosphere is always convivial, in fact, it is the venue of choice for my birthdays, high-days and holidays (I live abroad)! The service is second to none, I'm always made to feel special, which is always nice so I think I will reserve a table now for half term!

I was fortunate enough to stumble across this humble watering hole. What a lovely surprise. Gorgeous interior with a warm welcome. Equally gorgeous staff; a big thanks to Molly and Hamish for being so facilitating. Be sure to try the local beer for a real taste sensation. I live in Brighton but will commute 5 days a week to be sure that this little gem doesn’t go unused.

We ate on a Friday night and the pub/restaurant was very busy with noisy drinkers and loud booming thumping music blasting out. Despite this, we had a glass of Prosecco and sat in the quiet residents' lounge to gather our thoughts. Popping out I asked a member of staff if we could eat in the restaurant and we were shown to a table in the small but tasteful dining room. We chose smoked salmon as our starters and côte de boeuf for our mains, both from the specials board.

We decided last minute to go out for Sunday lunch. Always a problem round here as it's usually very booked up. We had never been to the Angel so thought we would give it a try. Phoned to book and no problem fitting us in. What they didn't tell us is they don't do a Sunday roast in the summer. It was raining and we were there so we decided to go ahead anyway. We both ordered sea bass with dauphinois potatoes and samphire. All well cooked and tasty but not much of it. One small fillet of fish a tiny piece of potato and a bit of samphire spread around the plate to make it look less empty. The people at the next very near table had two dogs one of which sat on her lap with its head on the table. Very unhygienic and since when were dogs allowed in restaurants? Fine if it's a pub bar but this isn't. It was offputting and the pudding selection was minimal so we paid and left. In and out in half an hour and back home feeling half empty and a bit fed up. Not what we were looking forward to. It wouldn't cost much more to give people twice the amount of potato and some veg at least and warn them you don't do Sunday roast.

Met up with a friend at Easter. Used to go and even stay at The Angel. Had lunch there. The menu was given to us on a piece of tatty paper. Had 2 or 3 course options or "mains" mostly selection of baguette and chips or teriyaki noodles which I opted for and was looking forward to at £12!!!! Only to be disappointed by the starter size and no finesse, just few noodles in a small bowl. The staff seemed disinterested and we asked for the bill several times. Very disappointing!!

We hadn't eaten at The Angel for a few years so we decided we would try it out after the recent refurbishment. Dining is in the bar, which was quite noisy when we arrived. We chose a table as far away as possible, but it still felt like we were in a pub. The room had a low ceiling, with not a lot of windows, but mirrors everywhere stopped it being gloomy. We were given a menu which was quite limited. I chose venison, which was very tender and tasty, but my wife struggled to find something she fancied. She asked what the fish of the day was, and had Dover sole. Both meals arrived with a few vegetables but no potatoes of any kind. I had another look at the menu, and sure enough it didn't mention potatoes. Neither was there a list of side dishes if you wanted chips.

We were staying at the Angel and used the bistro. Being fond of fish we opted for the excellent range of fresh fish dishes-and we weren't disappointed. Prices seemed reasonable for the high quality of the food-well cooked and presented. And we would like to thank, especially, Darryl who looked after us so well and who was always so cheery!

Great selection of specials and well cooked food. Friendly atmosphere from all the staff, both in the bar and restuarant. Fun evening with a mix of english pub and gastro dining. Dogs are also welcome and made a fuss of (including in the restaurant). Worth a visit.

Very accommodating, we had one in our group on a walker, another in a wheelchair with a hearing dog.. they were very patient, and polite. The food was excellent, and a very good price. We didn't arrive on time, or at the same time, but they couldn't do enough for us. It was a leisurely lunch, and there was no pressure to leave. It has a lovely ambiance and I would certainly eat there again.

Took friends out to dinner and booked a table here for 1900. Buzzing when we got there - rugby club having drinks (check out their blazers if you are into colour!). Quick service at the bar and nice table down the stairs at the back of the venue with a beautiful beehive shaped fireplace - warm and cozy! French onion soup was really delicious, home made beef stock, white wine - and onions with the usual toasted cheese. A large portion meant that I did not have room to finish the shin of beef - soo rich and soo delicious though. Gurnard (tempura style) and a burger sailed down and the creme brulee could have fed all three of us. Lovely atmosphere, great service from this newish team (family). A winner in the making!

Went for the set lunch menu. I had the mussels to start followed by the chicken chasseur. My partner had the pate, and the minute steak as the main. Starters served with fresh crusty bread, and the mains with French fries and salad. Two courses £15.00...very good value for money. The food, the staff and the ambience were all excellent. Highly recommended!

A long overdue revisit. Firstly I love the location. The welcome is great, but best of all is the food and drink – turns it into a wonderful place to be. The toasted sandwiches are labelled by cyclists - I had the Wiggo – kale, pesto, cheddar and onion chutney. Delicious! And the coffee was superb. Another part of the attraction is that I am really looking forward to being there again!

A very interesting cafe tucked away down a side passage to this whole food shop. Greeted by the aroma of tasty smells. Ideal for a coffee stop. There were many books and newspapers to keep one amused. There was a selection of healthy foods on offer but essentially I visited with a friend for coffee. No background music which is good as we had a good uninterrupted conversatiin.

Came here as we were staying in our campsite up the road. I had a high 5 smoothie and a breakfast burrito both days as the first one was so very good -super hot and Delicious-def would go back again and recommend and they allow dogs in too. My partner had the small breakfast and a latte -he said was great as he also had it the 2nd day 😁
