The Local Cafe Selsey in Chichester

Good Choice of food which was tasty! I was Disappointed that the "Only" fish (& chips) that was available was Cod; as this place came up as a "fish & chips" restaurant in Google Maps! I had the Thick Nutella Milk Shake. It was Delicious!! Friendly Staff. Was busy for a Tuesday afternoon!

Friendly staff and great lasagne. Kids loved their burgers and milkshakes and said they wanted to come back tomorrow.

Busy eatery in seaside town. Food is fine and what you would expect. Several of the staff are young and it is nice to see them out working for their living. The place has been there for years and they know what their customers want. Very good carvery at the weekend.

Nice place to eat with friendly staff. Enjoyed the bacon sandwich, it had lots of bacon! Fair priced Large seating area indoors and outside. Prefer the east wittering one for atmosphere

In the world of shrinkflation, this place missed the concept - kids fish n chips (and we had 3yr olds) were adult size. Fries with meals were double the necessary. Parisian burger, mussels, grilled plaice and chicken pie were all good, beats usual holiday cafe fare by far. Bathrooms and booths all clean. Lovely staff. The only oddity is it shuts at 8 on a Saturday (maybe it's a surfer get up early town?!) as that is the busiest time for restaurants in my home town!

Surprisingly decent cafe diner food for a reasonable price. Wait staff were a bit slow but polite and friendly when we finally got their attention. A good range of meals and drinks, perfect for after a day at the beach.

Went a couple of times, both at very quiet periods of the day so can't comment on the atmosphere but the food and service was spot on.

I first visited this establishment 13 years ago when I got engaged to my now husband and have visited a few times since and each time the food has been incredible, the staff and service very friendly and fast ! This restaurant was great 13 years ago and yet again tonight it has impressed us ! Their roast is delicious and the menu very affordable. We highly recommend a visit. Thank you and well done to all involved in making this establishment great.

Always love a meal here, been coming here for over 30 years and the quality has never changed. Food is great and the service has always been outstanding. Five of us visited on 11/08/24 in the afternoon for dinner and drinks. Although they were busy and short staffed our order was taken quickly and on the table shortly after. Absolutely worth the visit every time we are in the area.

Waited to be served for twenty mins then they serve somone else went bk in and ask if anyone is serving another ten mins so I left and went somewhere else

Staff lovely. Chicken and ham pie nice but uncooked pastry. Salmon lovely but potatoes very black and overcooked. Apparently we should have said at beginning of meal

It was a lovely day, and we sat outside. It's a busy spot. Our food was nice, I had a small breakfast and the mushrooms were delicious. My daughter had the pancake, which were very dence and heavy, but she ate them. My husband had the ham eggs and toast, which you could get with chips either. Handy spot for a quick bite.

Where do I start. Been here a few times over the years but today was a massive disappointment. The staff are great restaurant is nice, but the food is now terrible We both had the full English which turned up around 5 minutes after we ordered. It was warmish and the bacon and sausage dry like it's been pre cooked, fried egg with a hard yolk, under cooked hash brown ordered black pudding at £2.20 and got one small slice off the end and wasn't cooked enough and cold. £2.20!!!! When the bill cam we had been charged just under £6 for 2 cans of Diet Coke and were charged for tea and coffee even thought their sister restaurant the tea and coffee is included. Avoid unless you like eating overpriced undercooked food

Best food in selsey and probably the whole peninsula. Love the homemade pies and the carvery on a Sunday can't be beaten. Ask for the head chef/owner and he will normally come out and say hello and regale old local folk tales.

We were due to go here today after being recommended , when we arrived in the carpark a member of the kitchen staff was stood in the big bin out the back, with a kitchen apron on. Very disappointing. Shame, as we had heard the food was nice, but hygiene is obviously not a priority.

Food is alright, not as good as it used to be years ago… Gemma G does more talking than they do working.. Rude to their younger coworkers too.

Friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. Food is simple but tasty, and that’s always a winning combination. My daughter had pancakes and hash browns, I had the ham and eggs and the wife had the full English. Plates were cleared and we left satisfied. It was about £32ish for the lot including teas and coffee so it’s definitely value for money.

Went to the Selsey boulevard with my family for Breakfast today. After being a regular at Bracklesham we was very disappointed with everything. Tea was cold, orders was wrong, fried eggs hard. Wont be going back.

Great carvery and great service. My husband and I are very particular about our roast dinners and have to say this was up there with one of the best we've had in a restaurant. We also had the breakfast on a separate occasion and that was also great.

Well presented restaurant with helpful, welcoming staff. A good range of family favourites and more interesting recipes. The salmon in chorizo sauce is absolutely delicious.

Delicious food, great portions and perfect service, I got the bbq brisket burger and it was delicious with the bbq sauce. It was massive! The staff were very nice, the only problem was we had to wait a while as another table had a large order but that isn't the restraunt's fault. Would and will dine there again as it is the best place for food in selsey.

Popped in with my little boy for breakfast. Asked the girl if I could swap my tomatoes for a hash brown, was told no and had to pay extra Same waitress served the table next to us a short while afterwards, same request from a gentleman, and he was told that's fine. Need consistency im afraid. Wouldn't return

Went in for Sunday lunch all food fantastic loved the carvery even tried a battered parsnip! All portions generous, service with a smile ,lovely restaurant! Went back for breakfast on the Monday before journey home! Def recommend and return if in area

We stopped by on our trip in Selsey and ordered Spicy American burger + Plaice served with some salad etc. Unfortunately my food was just not *it*, the combo was really weird. Maybe my mistake that I ordered in rush... Burger was average. Staff genuinely fine.

First time in Selsey. The restaurant on the main road. It was reasonably busy. However, the service was excellent. Waitress Gamma is a gold star. The meal plates are very large for cheaper than usual prices. Tasty foods and well prepared. This place is worth a 5* recommendation.

Very good place to eat. Very nice menu, cheap in prize. Kids love them food. Good size portions. Very quick service, very friendly staff. Very highly recommend this place. Definitely will go back. P.s could be bit wormer inside as we was there in cold weather and soon as somone open the front door it got cold inside. Other then that great place to eat for all family. Nice, clean and friendly

Lunch with a friend who lives nearby. £7.50 for a plain jacket potato before any toppings. Very average greasy spoon food.Claims to be dog friendly but the waitress just moaned about ours being in the way. 2 types of service - happy chatty if you are a regular local - grumpy and curt otherwise. Many other places to try nearby and maybe they know how to smile at tourists. Won’t be going there again - not welcoming at all .

Everything a great British cafe should be. Spacious inside and seats outside too. Good food and lovely mugs of tea. Yum.

Great place to go for some great food with super friendly staff! I even made a special request for a mint aero sundae (which wasn't on the menu) and they absolutely smashed it! Best sundae I've ever had! Update: Went back and ordered the California burger from the specials board and think that it's quite possibly be the best burger I've ever eaten!

Very friendly , welcoming to dog's. Lovely cakes and good value. Facilities were clean and tidy. Centrally situated close to lot's of shops.

A mediocre restaurant serving cake that artificial & sugary, and undrinkable coffee. The staff were nice. Not a place to go back to. I must point out I did not have a main course here so cannot pass comnent on this.

great food ...great choice ...huge amounts...not too expensive... table service..starters ...main..desert..drinks hot cold salad bar... and alchohol cannot recommend high enough

Pictures don't do the food justice. Literally, the biggest piece of cod I've ever seen and needed a box to take some home. Fabulous service, very friendly waitress and a lovely clean restaurant. Would happily come back 💕

Stopped for lunch on a quick visit to Selsey. Food was excellent and milk shakes fabulous!

Great place especially for families. Great fish and chips and excellent burgers. Wide range of desserts. Our grandsons particularly loved the Sundaes. Highly recommend.

We got to the Boulevard deep into a Monday morning after a great walk o the Seal bay seafront. A Boulevard breakfast x 2 with 2 coffees and we were golden. 2 Hungry diners and 1/2hr later and we were all smiles. Great food, really friendly staff (as ever) - Spoiler alert: We are repeat customers and will long remain so. Always good.

Haven’t left a review of the food because we never got served. We were waiting half and hour outside in the cold, and went in twice to let them know we were there, and despite being told both times someone would be there in a few minutes we were left waiting both times. Quite frankly appalling, it’s a wonder anyone bothers to go there. Went to the local cafe just up the street and I would advise anyone who wants any form of quality to go there instead

Popped in for a full English breakfast and a pot of tea down from Northampton for a few hours. Service was really quick and so was the food... and it was good and hot! The place was busy with locals too so that says it all. Well done The Boulevard!!

We had such a great experience here. We were staying in the nearby Seal Bay resort and was getting tired of the food options. We stumbled upon this place as they had a roast dinner option for our girls to get them to eat some vegetables as it was mostly chips in the resort. The food, staff and everything about this place was great. So good we went on the way home for an all day breakfast.

We have visited many times before when it was called the Riviera, but this was our first time back in the area for a few years. It still remains one of our favourite places to eat. We went for breakfast, which was great value for money, and then returned in the evening. We all enjoyed our meals, the salads are huge! No room for pudding but they looked good. We look forward to our next visit. Great food, friendly staff and fair prices.

This is a gem of a place! The staff are great, the food is excellent and the menu has a great variety.

Have not been in here for a long time, but the urge for full English was too strong. The first thing I noticed was the very small egg. Now come on, its a full english. Why put the smallest cheapest egg on your plate. I have never seen a small egg like this on the breakfasts, that I have had in many places. It was a sub standard breakfast and for the money, not good value at all. This is no reflection on the staff who were all polite.

Visited at Sunday Lunchtime so was really busy, food was OK but found it difficult to get waiting staffs attention

We havent been here for years and was unaware it had been changed from the Riviera however the food was still beautiful and so was the service! The portion size is generous amd the food is fresh and hot and delicious. There is also a specials board if nothing on the menu you fancy however we find that hard to believe as there is alot of choice! There is also a selection of beautiful cakes if you have room lol! We fully enjoyed our meals and our waitress Gemma was just so lovely especially with my little boy. We will defo visit again. Thank you!

Great value and delicious burger, friend had an amazingly large and very tasty fish and chips. Was warm enough to eat outdoors, but would like to return again to eat inside or maybe visit their Witterings restaurant too.

Lovely dinner. The steak was melting in our mouth. Salad and sauces amazing. Totally disappointed by the frozen chips 🍟. Home made chips would go perfectly with a high quality meat! Nice staff politely kind.

Have enjoyed fish and chips from this restaurant for many years. Today, for the first time, I tried their full English breakfast - the best breakfast I have eaten in a long time - everything perfectly cooked and tasty - and reasonably priced into the bargain.
