Wonderful jazz night. Service is so smooth and the food always exceeds expectations.

Service and atmosphere is spot on The music has a good vibe The location is spot on the bar staff are very good and the food is standard pub grab (haven't tried the roast Guinness wasn't the best! I would go back for the craic and atmosphere hence the 4 start over all a decent standard boozer

Sat in the pleasant garden area on a warm May afternoon - a brief stop between two sections of the Capital Ring. Genuinely nice pub of its type with a couple of craft options, including cask. Had some "light snack" style food. Nothing to fault and recommended for similar.

Such a great pub - so nice to bring the dog who got spoiled by his own menu (beyond cute) and lovely attentive staff.

Went for Easter and half the menu wasn't available, food was average but the pkace was quite dark and messy

Great Sunday roast. My beef was tender and tasty. Big portions though. Had the New Zealand Sauvignon which was gorgeous. A very nice environment

We had our nan's funeral at the woodman, we had also had our grandfather's a few years before. It has become a pub that carries alot of sentiment to our family. The staff were brilliant to help everyone's needs and served some lovely food for us. Thank you for helping us celebrate our nans life and making the day run so smoothly.

The Woodman, Highgate is one of the loveliest pubs I have the pleasure of going to on a regular basis. The staff are always so polite and makes the visit a nice experience. I truly recommend the lovely free jazz music that takes place every Wednesday evening.

Very clean, attractive rooms. Very friendly service. 3 minutes to public transport The pub has everything you need to end the day in the evening, garden, music, games, nice people and if you live in the pub you also have a 30% discount on drinks and food! Great!👌

Ordered a glass of sparkling wine by the glass as shown on the menu for £11 and staff refused to open it unless we paid for the whole bottle. Beer was flat, we were rushed to pay the bill as soon as we got our drinks. Don’t recommend

I could spend my entire review gushing about the atmosphere and the interior. It’s fantastic! The flowers in the different rooms, the paintings, the outside area, the lighting - it’s simply amazing! The food is also delicious, and the staff are very friendly as well . :)

Lovely atmosphere - there was a choir on whilst we ate (on a Sunday). The menu met all of our dietary needs. Very quick service with polite staff members. We were served by Emily who was great! We also we served by a blonde girl who I think was Australian? I didn’t catch her name but she deserves recognition too!! Food really was so lovely and I will come back again soon!

This pub has a very nice atmosphere, decorations and plenty of space for seating, however I was disappointed with the drinks. I ordered an £8.50 Pimms with lemonade with Citrus fruit. This is disappointing standard for me from the price range as it came in a 500ml small glass and not much fruit. I’ve had the same at Wetherspoons and it comes in a big round glass with strawberries and cucumber for a much cheaper price. We also got the cocktail and it wasn’t mixed or combined professionally, it just came in a ready made cocktail glass. For the price and area I except a bit more, but definitely recommend for the atmosphere and if you want to drink something more simple like a beer or wine.

Book a table, order dinner then get refused to be served-UPDATED! I've been to the Woodman for many years and the food has been good, so I booked a table for my 90yr old aunt for a Sunday dinner at 7.30pm. The table was booked days in advance and was for six people. We were at the table at 7.30pm- after taking the dinner orders one of the junior staff then came back and said sorry kitchen's shut, we won't serve you! My 90 yr old aunt can only walk with a stick, and we had to walk find another place for dinner! Why did they take a booking for dinner at 7.30pm when they knew the kitchen was shut? At least they could have told us there was no food before we ordered! Totally appalled by the service UPDATE! I've just been called by the owner, Tom. He was very apologetic, promised to speak to the staff, and sent me a free voucher. Thanks Tom- appreciate the call and voucher! Adjusted the rating accordingly

Visited a few times now over a 6 month period and every time the staff are attentive, friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is genuinely wonderful with the artworks, fireplace and seating (so good at Christmas time) and as we enter spring/summer the garden/outside area is perfect to sit in the sun. Then we have the food - try the shepherds pie. It’s a classic an by an OG chef. Let’s not talk about the sticky toffee pudding and ice cream because it’s so good you’ll want to reorder. Anyway, essentially a very good, safe, friendly and memorable pub with class food. You can’t go wrong coming here.

The Woodman never disappoints! I had the fish and chips, and it was absolutely delicious—crispy batter and perfectly cooked fish. The pub itself has a great atmosphere, and the staff are always friendly and welcoming.

This place feels like a home away from home. The burger was hands down one of the best I’ve had—juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The whole experience was wonderful, from the warm welcome to the excellent service.

The pub and staff are nice but the food is very dry and not very nice for the price. The dj didn’t actually dj they just faded songs in and out … apple music can do this. My fave part is the cocktail of the week sign that just says ‘cocktail of week’

Came here with friends for dinner, and we all loved it! The burger was juicy and full of flavor, and my friend raved about the Shepherd’s Pie. The atmosphere is lively yet relaxed, making it a great spot for any occasion.

Average. Food and service has really gone downhill here whilst the prices have gone up. Shame.

Absolutely love coming here! The ambiance is cozy, and the food never disappoints. I tried the Shepherd’s Pie this time, and it was packed with flavor and perfectly seasoned. Pair it with a pint, and you’re in for a great meal.

I love this pub, it's local to me, the staff are amazing!! Unfortunately I've had Sunday lunch there twice in the last month and there have been issues, first meal I had was the wrong order, the eventual replacement came and the roast beef was tough and also had to be sent back, the staff were apologetic, but the experience of a great Sunday lunch was taken away. We gave them a second chance couple of weeks later, again staff are wonderful but the starter was Luke warm, the chicken main course didn't look great and just tasted... well not chicken, the roast potatoes looked great but were again Luke warm and hard inside another disappointing Sunday lunch, I didn't even bother to complain, just I'll probably not go back to eat.

I wasn't expecting to find such a fantastic burger at a pub, but The Woodman proved me wrong! Juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The fries were crispy and delicious, too. Great beer selection as well—this place is a must-visit!

Beautiful old style pub, open fire (a bit smokey) but lovely feel, friendly staff

We walk in for a quick pint, but get greeted by someone at the door like we're entering a Michelin star restaurant, and get told it is table service only. Soo, we get assigned a table outside. Although, no one comes to take our order. We wait 15 minutes and then have to flag someone down tirelessly. Then, after the order is finally taken, the drinks don't come for 20 minutes and the order was wrong when it finally comes... To top it off, we have to pay a service charge at the end, for what is some of the worst service I've had in a pub in years. Great! (Was £7.55 a pint inc. service charge as an FYI) The only positive, is that we spotted Steve Pemberton (the dad from Benidorm) in there having a G+T.

The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for a casual night out. I had the Shepherd’s Pie, and it was hands down the best I’ve ever tasted—rich, flavorful, and comforting. The staff were incredibly friendly, making the whole experience even better.

Had a Birthday celebration at the Woodman last night. The staff were superb. An amazing venue for a fun night. Highly recommend. Prior to the evening the staff could not have been more helpful. 5 star! Thank you the Woodman! This is one of the best pubs in North London.

I agree with the previous review, I also ordered a burger which was really disappointing given the £20 price. And actually have a bad stomach this morning and haven’t eaten anything since the burger last night.

Paid 30£ for a crap burger and a pint

Este almuerzo fue arreglado para amigos y mi perro. Fue una visita muy pobre. Nuestro pedido de bebidas fue tomado y luego olvidado. respuesta "Disculpe la demora". Pedimos el almuerzo y poco después llegaron dos de los tres. El servidor había olvidado pedir una de las comidas. Así que mis amigos no comerían hasta que mi comida llegara. respuesta "lo siento por el retraso". El pub no estaba demasiado ocupado y mis amigos no estaban impresionados. Me preguntaron por mi comida, dije que no era muy buena. El servidor fue al gerente y nos dieron un 10% de descuento, pero la otra comida estaba mal preparada y no era una calidad que cabría esperar por el precio. Nos habríamos quedado más tiempo y tomado más bebidas. Pero muy decepcionante visita.

Great pub, great service. Staff willing to shuffle things around to make room for us. Enjoy some excellent food and beverage also. There's a wonderful vibe, very welcoming. Lovely eclectic furnishings and design too.

We came for a special birthday roast for my youngest son — his request. We hiked up through the woods and brought our puppy. When we arrived, there were balloons and a card and a cozy well selected corner table awaiting us. Staff had reserved the dishes we wanted — it was truly delicious and the atmosphere was really joyful and welcoming. They brought water for our puppy and took family photos for us in their Valentine’s Day selfy corner! We all had such a fantastic happy evening.

Lovely pub with a lot of interesting drinks and delicious food. The place looks amazing and cosy inside, and there is also a wide space outside, great for summer or warm days. The people working in there are very friendly, and the place is pet friendly. I def recommend it!

Great place to stop after the Parkland walk. Very doggy friendly and next to Highgate tube. Big outdoor seating area as well as a semi covered one and a large interior. I had the mixed seafood it was delicious especially the prawns, the fish and chips and roasts look great too. All staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Recommend booking on a Sunday if you want to eat inside as it was full.

Nice pub, amazing outdoor seating and absolutely lovely waitresses. The downside is the food unfortunately. The beef in the roast dinner tasted old and arrived luke warm so was cold quickly. Didn't even get the creamy horseradish that's on the menu of this dish. Mulled wine had an after taste of grapefruit or something similarly bitter. Shame to be let down by the food and drink as the staff are clearly doing their best, always smiling and willing to help

Such a lovely outdoor space! I was looking forward to spending the afternoon, however, I asked if I could order three times and was told “in a minute”. I finally was able to order a half hour later, but my order just never came. I gave up!

Service charge of £11 when they didn't check on our food or offer more drinks. When asked to remove it they said they couldn't. £3.60 for a pot of mushy peas.

Just beware, that even if you order at the bar you’ll be charged service! Ordered a round of drinks and one Sunday roast, but because there was food, service charge was added to the whole bill. Paid at the bar, and didn’t realise later when I calculated what the bill should have been. Really bad form especially as you’re not told about the service charge or even given a receipt before hand so you know what’s happening. Service charge is meant to be a discretionary charge not an obligatory one, so how are we meant to know unless we’re told?? £8 to deliver food when you don’t even have any cutlery or sauces doesn’t feel like an appropriate charge!

Vengo a este pub al menos una vez a la semana solo (Chicos, no es tan raro, soy miembro del estudio de cerámica Turning Earth a unos 100 m de distancia, así que normalmente me dejo caer antes, durante o después de lanzar algunas formas en la rueda). La comida está (normalmente) bien, el servicio es amable y la decoración es genial (cosa de desnudo ligeramente surrealista que pasa). De todos modos dicen que su chef solía trabajar en The Ivy, su pastel de pastor es mejor, bla, bla, bla. No lo creía, suena demasiado como marketing. Bueno - déjenme decirles - hoy tuve el MEJOR pastel de pastor que he tenido en mi vida. Y he tenido mucho. Los reto a todos en TripAdvisor. Ven aquí, prueba el Pastel del Pastor - encuéntrame un mejor ejemplo. Para todos los turistas que terminan yendo a pubs al azar, comiendo pescado malo y patatas fritas que dicen que son auténticos, pero en realidad son terribles - ESTA es su oportunidad. Genuinamente bueno, ven aquí antes de que todos lo hagan y lo arruinen.

Great food , lovely atmosphere in the summer with a huge garden and in the winter with the cosy fire place. They have different music gigs so many nights of the week. I see some people criticised the food but I ate there many times and the food Was tasty and fresh. 5 star from me

Lovely, cosy pub with lots of seating and outdoor space, and parking attached. Friendly staff too. A little on the pricey side even for draught beer but likely due to the proximity of the nearby tube station & so lots of commuters.

Very dog friendly with good food. Very handy for lunch after dog walking in Highgate Wood. Not crowded on Monday and Thursday lunchtimes when we have visited. Has a small car park at the back.

It is such a shame, this is a beautiful pub, lovely atmosphere with very friendly staff but the food let's it down. The food was of not good quality & portions on the smallish side, just tastes like frozen food you might buy in Iceland supermarket,nothing that would make me want to eat there again or recommend to anyone. It is so easily fixed by cooking from fresh, mayby charging a bit more but at the end of the day it is the quality you remember.

Good place to watch football (enclosed indoor & outdoor areas which had large TVs). Outdoor areas had heaters which weren't particularly good. Service wasn't the quickest, but it didn't matter for us - we got a couple of (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) coffees/hot chocolate which were pretty watery. Despite all that, it's spacious and does a decent job for somewhere to watch football - can see myself going back if around the area to try the food.

Absolutely great atmosphere with live music and a BBQ coming up on Saturday. Stopped for a cycling coffee and they let us take the bikes to the beautiful garden. It was quite early and not too many people but it’s a really kind gesture from them. Will come back for sure!

No gluten-free beer on tap. Bit of a miss as I'm sure not the only one who would like a draft beer without gluten... Especially as there are so many good ones available now, local too.

Lovely venue with indoor and outdoor seating with choice of shade or sun. All the staff were helpful and friendly, in particular Aggy who made sure we enjoyed our visit. The roast pork loin was moist and tender and a good balance of meat, fat and crackling. Everything was well cooked. The Yorkshire pudding was a bit dry but was fine when soaked in gravy. My wife found her chicken roast a bit bland but from what I tasted it was ok for a typical English roast. It did appear to be fried rather than roast though.

Have started making this a regular Friday night dinner with my boyfriend. We are 5 weeks in and have loved everything on the menu. Staff are so friendly and don’t leave you waiting for anything. Pies are amazing. Reasonably priced. Always good vibes and so welcoming. Will be back next Friday :)

The atmosphere and service are relaxed and nice overall, plenty of sitting area inside and outside as well, but the food was one of the worst I’ve had. Not much flavour to the burger and very dry meet, fish and chips that my friend had were relatively ok but again not much flavour and quite dry, however the dessert were terrible extremely sweet to the point that made you sick. It’s my 5th time at this pub and every time I had food but it seems that it’s overall their food is just getting worse which is a shame.

I’ve had food and drinks at this pub 4 times now and it seems that every time it gets worse. The quality of food is very disappointing. I had a burger and it was very dry and not much flavour to it. My friend had fish and chips and again some problem, not much flavour. The cherry on top was the dessert that was extremely sweet to the point where it made you sick. Atmosphere overall was nice and the service ok, however I would not try it and I don’t recommend this place as there are so many better pubs in Crouch End that are worth the try and they don’t disappoint.

This was my first time at this pub, and the vibes were fantastic. The outdoor space was super inviting. We got some chips and bruschetta with our drinks, and everything was spot on. Great food, great service—can't wait to come back!

This is the pub of all pubs. Perfect beer garden perfect range of beer ales and other refreshing drinks. But what makes this place is the staff. I recently held a charity event there with my cycle club Chain Gang Cyclist in conjunction with One more City a charity shop that works with the ICC that’s funds talented Reserach PHD students vs in to why cancer returns for the 2nd time breast for some people and how to end its progress. They also contributed to our charity 💜💜💜. Gaberial organised it all and she is an angel l. Her staff on the day are amazing they made every one feel welcome and service was out of this worls

I was waiting for a lift to York for approx 2 hours. Myself and a colleague waited at the Woodman beer garden and had Coca-Cola and chips. The landlord/staff were very friendly and accommodating. The beer garden was great
