Really friendly team and good beer selection - particularly Deya Steady Rolling Man!

During last Thursday’s comedy night, I had the misfortune of watching a dyspraxic man whose eyes were wider apart than our domestic political spectrum complete a 5-minute diatribe against the State of Israel committing an alleged ‘genocide’- which is an insult to populations suffering the definition of genocide. Israel must be terrible at it considering the population of palestine in 2024 was up 2.30% from 2023, which was up 2.31% from 2022, which was up 2.27% from 2021 (current population of 5.43m vs. 760k 20 years ago – you donkey). Like many of the left wing nowadays – jumped up, repugnantly virtuous, self-righteous degenerates who do not have the necessary authority to make their factually incorrect statements. People have opinions on significant issues they know nothing about, the same opinions that are lazy in construct, unproductive and only cause division. I am all for political & dark humour, but this was straight up misinformed hate under the guise of comedy – no one laughed – dead silence – aside from what can only be described as a psychologist’s cash cow shouting ‘hell yeah man’ and other such sentiment of misplaced support now and again, the typical type. It is ironic that these hypocrites live in Crouch End – I had to remind myself that I was not in a 2015 Labour Party Conference – through your verbal belligerence you answered why Jews need the only Jewish State, Israel - multi faith, religiously, sexually and politically tolerant - mirroring the core values of the UK, the same can’t be said for it’s neighbours - in order to exist – thank you. Sid the Sloth as I shall refer to you, shout into your echo chamber – outside in the mainstream – the real world, where we work hard to pay your government subsidies whilst you hit dead ends on the comedy circuit – the majority are well informed and do not share the same position – sanity restored. To the host, if you start the evening by reminding the audience to ‘be respectful and kind, make sure the same standard applies to your talent where it is stone wall obvious. In the meantime, enjoy your weekly death marches around Central London with the other zombies you fraternise with…whilst you are there, ask yourself why you are – when all 22 Arab states have not taken a single refugee – the same Arab states who in bulk exist as a result of their barbaric colonisation of native North Africa… committing actual genocide against Christians in Nigeria as we speak - extending their land control to a whopping 13m km2. Then there is Sudan, Congo, Uighur Muslims to consider – by not applying equity of your sentiment to these suffering populations you have demonstrated your hatred for one group of people and ultimately one faith, as you are too blinkered to recognise the country’s diversity. There is no 'apartheid', palestine is a stand alone entity. To put it into context - Israeli Muslim Arabs make up 18% of the population and they enjoy the same rights & freedoms as the next citizen (5% in the UK). Salim Joubran, Khaled Kabub - the list goes on. These are Israeli Arabs who serve in Israel's Supreme Court - and have sentenced Jewish Israelis to jail time - this dynamic does not exist under an apartheid. By the way Israel is only a mere 22k km2 - defending itself on 7 fronts…yet you accused it of being the aggressor in the region - a country let me remind you, that was attacked first on Oct 23’ and who has always been the victim of a broken ceasefire. Shame on you, warped Sid. Kings Head, you are a great venue, bar staff were lovely. Please don’t give bigots stage time, it’s an insult to the 2.5k Nova festival victims - raped, mutilated and slaughtered - the 110k+ displaced Israelis - including Christians, Druze and Israeli Muslims - and the innocent hostages from 25 different counties who still remain underground without light, love and any semblance of humanity for over 500 days.

One of my favourite local pubs. I can’t stress enough how fantastic the food is here. It is actually very refined food for such good prices and a relaxed, unpretentious vibe. The burgers, fried chicken and pies are all fantastic, but so are their changing specials. The hake was some of the best fish I’ve had in any restaurant in a long time. I enjoy it so much we ended up booking for Christmas Day - something I’ve never done. The Christmas meal was fantastic and the staff were excellent as always. To top it off, the jazz downstairs every Sunday afternoon is a jewel and a much needed tradition. I find myself popping in fairly often for lunch in the week now. I find the other pubs in Crouch End a lot busier, more expensive and fussy, but I honestly think The Kings Head is slept on. People don’t know what they’re missing.

A decent pub. Great selection of drinks. Nachos and padron peppers were good. Staff were friendly.

Lovely local pub, the staff are very polite and the food is always great as well. Would recommend.

Pretty average Sunday roast. Very slow service. I don't know if something happened because we were waiting for more than an hour to get our food after we had ordered. They apologized, so it might have been a one time thing

One of the nicest pub experiences I've enjoyed in London recently. The service was very efficient and friendly, and despite them being busy preparing for the quiz we felt very welcomed. With one or two more veggie/vegan options on the menu our visit would have scored 5/5 across the board! Thanks very much to all!

Great Crouch End pub with a nice relaxed vibe.

Really nice food, at fair prices, and the Jazz was brilliant even though it was just a jam night. There is a small admission charge for the Jazz.

The fantastic Kings Head team helped plan a truly memorable birthday party. Fairy lights transformed the comedy club, the chef's food was a triumph and the layout even allowed for live music and ceilidh dancing!!! A brilliant bash and by partying 12-5pm on a Saturday afternoon - the budget stretched a long way. Thoroughly recommend...

🚇 Hornsey 🍺 £6.10 Pravha The Kings Head is located on the corner of a parade of shops in the heart of Crouch End. The nearest station is Hornsey, it’s a fifteen minute walk to get here. There has been a pub in on this site since 1662. In the 19th century the pub was informally known as “The Yard of Pork”. Prior to 1812 the pub was called The White Hart. The majestic turreted pub you see today was built for Taylor Walker in 1892. In the basement of The Kings Head is the home to one of the oldest comedy clubs in Britain. “Downstairs at the Kings Head” was founded in 1981, comedians like Alexei Sayle, Lee Mack, Ed Byrne, Rob Beckett and Jimmy Carr have all graced the stage here. This is a stylish one bar pub with a contemporary feel. The servery is located on the left hand side and has modern lighting above the counter. On one wall is a decorative collage of music, TV and film stars, on another is a collection of photos of comedians who have performed here. There is plenty seating throughout with traditional tables and chairs, curved banquettes and a couple of sofas. At the back of the bar is the stairs down to the basement Comedy Club. The beer line up will please most with a selection of cask, London craft and mainstream beers to choose from. I decided on a pint of Pravha, my pint was great, price point was average. There is a classic pub grub menu available, Fish & Chips costs £17. We arrived around 1.30pm on a Sunny Saturday lunchtime in August. The pub was fairly quiet with a few locals and a couple with their pooch in attendance. The atmosphere was very relaxed and it was easy to settle in. The service was ok, the welcome was pleasant enough. As well as hosting comedy nights there is also Jazz on a Sunday and a weekly quiz. Lots of history and celebrity is associated with @thekingsheadn8 . Our visit was good, I loved the architecture of this imposing pub and especially the portrait of Bill Murray. Jazz at the Kings Head was a joy. Sundays from 2.30 every week.

Love visiting the Kings Head! Staff are friendly and helpful and the food yummy. Last time we visited we had the fish and chips and chicken burger both delicious. Also tried out their 2 for 1 cocktail deal espresso martinis were great!

Always my go to when I’m in Crouch End. Interesting beers on tap and the bar snacks have always been top notch. Get some surprisingly big names for the comedy downstairs too.

If you’re in Crouch End and want a place to check out, I highly recommend heading to Kings Head! Was my first time in the area and the service was great :) also, the portion of food was decent. Lastly, I love my Guinness and you’ll get a good one here. When I’m back in London I’ll definitely try and pop in again.

Awesome pub to go to and even got served by the manager who was friendly as hell. We are on holiday and didn’t know the area and found it to be the best spot going. Great food and cold beers. Would go again for sure.

Finally managed a quick drink in the King's Head. A pleasant and comfortable pub. Quite traditional and relaxed.

All was great, apart from the vague smell of toilets/drains. And sticky door handles. The management need to arrange a deep clean.

From the moment we walked into the kings head the atmosphere was very welcoming. The decor is wonderful, a real sense of comfort that makes you want to sit down and totally relax whether it be by yourself or with family and friends.

I have been going to the Kings Head for years, mostly for their fabulous comedy nights downstairs. I can't really comment on the food as I'm not sure I've ever eaten there, but it looks pretty good. The decor isn't traditional, but the atmosphere is great and I've always found the bar staff friendly and efficient. Enzi in particular seems to have been there for years, and is always welcoming. Seeing her when I walk in, I feel like Norm in Cheers!

A warm welcome always. Staff are all very friendly, particularly Enzi who always goes above and beyond to make sure we have a pleasant experience. She knows her drinks and can always recommend the most suitable upcoming event for me and my partner. Would 100% recommend.

Love the kings head! It’s my local and been going there for years. Great place to catch up with friends on a Friday evening or to spend a couple of hours during the day catching up on some work. Enzi in particular is an exemplary member of staff, always a friendly face and provides brilliant service. She is a credit to the pub 👌🏻

I've been coming to The Kings Head for many years mostly for their great comedy evenings. Recently I moved locally and discovered the pub has a lovely atmosphere, the bar staff are fab and Enzi is a perfect star. I look forward to trying the menu soon as the food does look good.

Recently visited the Kings Head in Crouch end. I had a lovely experience, relaxed atmosphere and it was nice to see the staff engaging with lots of locals. Just want to give a shout out to Enzi, who recommended some lovely gins and she had a good knowledge of the food menu. We had some yummy bay snacks. Will be back very soon!

It’s a lovely place. I’ve been here 4 times and the atmosphere is great, food is really nice. It’s a dog and kids friendly pub and they also have stand up comedy so a must try for sure. Highly recommend it. 🥰

We’ve been going to the Kings Head for quite some time. There’s a lovely young lady called Enzi, who’s always been so lovely and friendly to us. We always look out for her as she brings a smile to our faces and makes time to have a little chat with us. She’s a real asset ☺️

I’ve been lucky to live just up the road for decades, yet - despite masses of pubs around Crouch End nearby - the Kings Head won my heart. The comedy and downstairs music is a big pull (although some of the acts I saw when they came here before they were stars now pass it by) and prices are good value. A special mention for young Enzi (behind the bar) who was so cheerful, professional and friendly! Enzi’s smile really always made the pub a great place. Happy memories (despite a sometimes blurry memory!)

My friends and I had a great evening at the kings head , it’s a lovely laidback pub and the staff are wonderful especially Enzi who was so great at helping us decide what gins and wine to try. She has great taste!

Always a smile from Enzi when myself and friends come to the Kings Head. A very relaxed and friendly manner and knowledgeable about the food and drink on offer. So lovely to see a long serving member of staff - makes for continuity and familiarity and feels like a real local rather than staff changing all the time like in so many pubs.

Really nice pub in the heart of Crouch end

My favourite pub in the heart of Crouch End. Nice easygoing atmosphere during the week but energetic and fun in the evenings and especially on match days. I’m a vegetarian and it’s great that they have so many clearly marked vegetarian options on the menu. The staff are superb with dietary restrictions and asked us about allergies so I would assume they’d be very accommodating. I believe the fries and halloumi sticks are fried separately to the meat but I’d recommend double checking. I love coming here with my friends and flatmates!

We called by whilst waiting for a friend to arrive home. What a lovely, friendly welcome. We ended up staying longer eating and drinking. Chicken Schnitzel was so tasty and succulent. The bar person knew about the beers and sorted out some great tasters before choosing. Great atmosphere. Thanks 😊

Popped in last night for a quick pint, lovely pint of Guinness, and friendly service, ended up staying for two or 3 and a couple of nibbles too, which were tasty and came quickly! Will definitely be back next time I’m in Crouch End!

Absolutely unbelievably bad experience here. Turned up for comedy night in jovial mood, it was my birthday. Bar manager decided I was slurring my words, totally untrue. Spoilt what should have been a nice evening. Will endeavour to get a refund from We Got Tickets. Avoid this place at all costs. I dare say the manager will claim we were drunk but I have written this response immediately after - hardly the ranting of an incoherent man. Very poor pub. As an aside, manager was quite happy to take our food order before refusing any more drinks

Ordered from the lunch menu, not as advertised. "Cherry tomato and grain salad" without the grains. "Bloody mary ketchup" without the ketchup. Also near where I was sitting smelt like urine.

Went for Sunday lunch with friends hoping to pop downstairs yo watch Jazz afterwards but had not realised there was a £7.00 per person charge Found it difficult to find anywhere on social media about the cover charge and as pub was nearly empty it might have been an idea to reduce cost of tickets fir those spending, £18.00 on a Sunday roast. The pork belly was OK but my friebns lamb was so tough it was almost impossible to cut through it. She returned lamb and asked for pork instead but dud not srruve until we had finished our dinners so that was a bit strange to wait so long

Nice pub for a french client. I had a very good fish and chips and a ... belgium beer that I really love.

A bit more on the expensive side but no complaints for a gastro pub that hosts stand-up events on Thursdays and Saturdays, the shows are quite long too!

Very cool place to meet and chat with friends, the drinks and food are also great. The dessert was wonderful, brownie.

Family , dogs and kids friendly place Customer service is just lovely. My daughter and I were warmly welcomed. Very clean toilets. Tidy overall. Good service. Good atmosphere. Good overall. We ordered cheeseburgers and chips. There is no doubt it is delicious. For Dessert : Apple Blackberry crumble with vanilla ice creams And brownie with ice creams strawberries and honey . It's a really cozy place . Very satisfying. They organised different events during the week.

Great Venue! Morgan was very hospitable in taking care of me and my partner for our meal. Guinness here was solid and poured to perfection. None of this would have been possible without Morgan. Nice pub, however … seems to be a place to go after school! Screaming bratty kids jumping up and down the bar like kangaroos, whilst the parents sat and scoffed proseccco. Got to the point where we thought were we in a pub or just day care? But saying this there were other well behaved children who don’t deserve this rep, but overall ferall earth children who rule their parents. Don’t go before 9pm

We hired downstairs for a private 30th birthday party. Everyone I dealt with from booking to tidying up at the end were absolutely fantastic. Thank you to Teri for helping with the planning and organising, Morgan for managing in the night, packing up left over food to take home and all the tidying, Koti for doing a great job running the bar and helping with the birthday cake, the waiting staff for bringing down all the food and tidying it away and last but not least, the amazing kitchen staff for the amazing food. We had the platinum buffet and everyone commented on how good it was! Thank you again everyone! I would 100% recommend downstairs for a private party!

This is my local , but i have not been for a few months due to work commitments. The bar staff members have changed and so has the service, ordering food there is a big no no! . If you get it it will be not up to their usual standards. That is if u get your food. Should have gone to the queens or the Railway

Relaxed and friendly, perfect to hang out with a friend in the afternoon, or even with the kids after school for a cuppa and chips, or a beer and macaroni cheese. The staff are super helpful and welcoming.
