I have been going to the Kings Head for years, mostly for their fabulous comedy nights downstairs. I can't really comment on the food as I'm not sure I've ever eaten there, but it looks pretty good. The decor isn't traditional, but the atmosphere is great and I've always found the bar staff friendly and efficient. Enzi in particular seems to have been there for years, and is always welcoming. Seeing her when I walk in, I feel like Norm in Cheers!

A warm welcome always. Staff are all very friendly, particularly Enzi who always goes above and beyond to make sure we have a pleasant experience. She knows her drinks and can always recommend the most suitable upcoming event for me and my partner. Would 100% recommend.

Love the kings head! It’s my local and been going there for years. Great place to catch up with friends on a Friday evening or to spend a couple of hours during the day catching up on some work. Enzi in particular is an exemplary member of staff, always a friendly face and provides brilliant service. She is a credit to the pub 👌🏻

I've been coming to The Kings Head for many years mostly for their great comedy evenings. Recently I moved locally and discovered the pub has a lovely atmosphere, the bar staff are fab and Enzi is a perfect star. I look forward to trying the menu soon as the food does look good.

From the moment I walked into The Kings Head I felt very welcome by the amazing staff! Especially Enzi who served us who was very attentive, friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and the general atmosphere was excellent.

Recently visited the Kings Head in Crouch end. I had a lovely experience, relaxed atmosphere and it was nice to see the staff engaging with lots of locals. Just want to give a shout out to Enzi, who recommended some lovely gins and she had a good knowledge of the food menu. We had some yummy bay snacks. Will be back very soon!

It’s a lovely place. I’ve been here 4 times and the atmosphere is great, food is really nice. It’s a dog and kids friendly pub and they also have stand up comedy so a must try for sure. Highly recommend it. 🥰

We’ve been going to the Kings Head for quite some time. There’s a lovely young lady called Enzi, who’s always been so lovely and friendly to us. We always look out for her as she brings a smile to our faces and makes time to have a little chat with us. She’s a real asset ☺️

My friends and I had a great evening at the kings head , it’s a lovely laidback pub and the staff are wonderful especially Enzi who was so great at helping us decide what gins and wine to try. She has great taste!

I’ve been lucky to live just up the road for decades, yet - despite masses of pubs around Crouch End nearby - the Kings Head won my heart. The comedy and downstairs music is a big pull (although some of the acts I saw when they came here before they were stars now pass it by) and prices are good value. A special mention for young Enzi (behind the bar) who was so cheerful, professional and friendly! Enzi’s smile really always made the pub a great place. Happy memories (despite a sometimes blurry memory!)

Always a smile from Enzi when myself and friends come to the Kings Head. A very relaxed and friendly manner and knowledgeable about the food and drink on offer. So lovely to see a long serving member of staff - makes for continuity and familiarity and feels like a real local rather than staff changing all the time like in so many pubs.

My favourite pub in the heart of Crouch End. Nice easygoing atmosphere during the week but energetic and fun in the evenings and especially on match days. I’m a vegetarian and it’s great that they have so many clearly marked vegetarian options on the menu. The staff are superb with dietary restrictions and asked us about allergies so I would assume they’d be very accommodating. I believe the fries and halloumi sticks are fried separately to the meat but I’d recommend double checking. I love coming here with my friends and flatmates!

We called by whilst waiting for a friend to arrive home. What a lovely, friendly welcome. We ended up staying longer eating and drinking. Chicken Schnitzel was so tasty and succulent. The bar person knew about the beers and sorted out some great tasters before choosing. Great atmosphere. Thanks 😊

Always my go to when I’m in Crouch End. Interesting beers on tap and the bar snacks have always been top notch. Get some surprisingly big names for the comedy downstairs too.

Popped in last night for a quick pint, lovely pint of Guinness, and friendly service, ended up staying for two or 3 and a couple of nibbles too, which were tasty and came quickly! Will definitely be back next time I’m in Crouch End!

Absolutely unbelievably bad experience here. Turned up for comedy night in jovial mood, it was my birthday. Bar manager decided I was slurring my words, totally untrue. Spoilt what should have been a nice evening. Will endeavour to get a refund from We Got Tickets. Avoid this place at all costs. I dare say the manager will claim we were drunk but I have written this response immediately after - hardly the ranting of an incoherent man. Very poor pub. As an aside, manager was quite happy to take our food order before refusing any more drinks

Ordered from the lunch menu, not as advertised. "Cherry tomato and grain salad" without the grains. "Bloody mary ketchup" without the ketchup. Also near where I was sitting smelt like urine.

Went for Sunday lunch with friends hoping to pop downstairs yo watch Jazz afterwards but had not realised there was a £7.00 per person charge Found it difficult to find anywhere on social media about the cover charge and as pub was nearly empty it might have been an idea to reduce cost of tickets fir those spending, £18.00 on a Sunday roast. The pork belly was OK but my friebns lamb was so tough it was almost impossible to cut through it. She returned lamb and asked for pork instead but dud not srruve until we had finished our dinners so that was a bit strange to wait so long

A bit more on the expensive side but no complaints for a gastro pub that hosts stand-up events on Thursdays and Saturdays, the shows are quite long too!

Very cool place to meet and chat with friends, the drinks and food are also great. The dessert was wonderful, brownie.

Family , dogs and kids friendly place Customer service is just lovely. My daughter and I were warmly welcomed. Very clean toilets. Tidy overall. Good service. Good atmosphere. Good overall. We ordered cheeseburgers and chips. There is no doubt it is delicious. For Dessert : Apple Blackberry crumble with vanilla ice creams And brownie with ice creams strawberries and honey . It's a really cozy place . Very satisfying. They organised different events during the week.

Great Venue! Morgan was very hospitable in taking care of me and my partner for our meal. Guinness here was solid and poured to perfection. None of this would have been possible without Morgan. Nice pub, however … seems to be a place to go after school! Screaming bratty kids jumping up and down the bar like kangaroos, whilst the parents sat and scoffed proseccco. Got to the point where we thought were we in a pub or just day care? But saying this there were other well behaved children who don’t deserve this rep, but overall ferall earth children who rule their parents. Don’t go before 9pm

We hired downstairs for a private 30th birthday party. Everyone I dealt with from booking to tidying up at the end were absolutely fantastic. Thank you to Teri for helping with the planning and organising, Morgan for managing in the night, packing up left over food to take home and all the tidying, Koti for doing a great job running the bar and helping with the birthday cake, the waiting staff for bringing down all the food and tidying it away and last but not least, the amazing kitchen staff for the amazing food. We had the platinum buffet and everyone commented on how good it was! Thank you again everyone! I would 100% recommend downstairs for a private party!

This is my local , but i have not been for a few months due to work commitments. The bar staff members have changed and so has the service, ordering food there is a big no no! . If you get it it will be not up to their usual standards. That is if u get your food. Should have gone to the queens or the Railway

Friendly, welcoming pub, but got to sort out their food. We had to send the entire table back as it was all burnt/cooked to oblivion. The manager was apologetic and re-fired the whole table, but even so, at £15-£20 for a main must do better. The food itself was fine - the burgers and pies are clearly bought in and okay quality. Would come again for a drink, but definitely not to eat.

I wish they had better wine or an old fashioned.

DISMAL SERVICE AND PATHETIC PORTION SIZE AND QUALITY : Ordered a portion of fries off the menu. Side fries arrive in a tiny ramecan nstead of the rosemary and parmesan fries with truffle oil(£6) which I thought I ordered. Miscommunication which is fair enough. I take them back and the bartender charges me the additional value for the rosemary fries, amazing! BUT the bartender then comes back a minute later with the same bowl of fries (now COLD!) with parmasen cheese and a sprig of rosemary on it (not a whiff of truffle oil on them!) . I take them back for second time and query the portion size and lack of truffle oil. The man gives a grunt and takes the bowl back to the kitchen. He arrives for a third time with the same f ING bowl of fries now drenched in truffle oil, stone cold with two hot extra fries on top. We literally burst out laughing as he dropped them off and he tells us to f off in response. Stay away!!!!!

A Group of ten of us have had a great evening at the Kings Head, Crouch End. The set Christmas menu was amazing. The food was great. The service was amazing and personal. The staff were great too. Thank you to the Kings Head.

Sunday lunch for two families (four kids under 7 and four adults). Attentive service and they took special care with one of the child's dietary requirements.

Mmmmm. Aneamic pork belly (no crackling!) , overdone Yorke, some of the cabbage was cold and not sure if the potatoes were supposed to be roast or boiled. £17 too, so not cheap. Portion size was OK, hence I cleared my plate. Picture below doesn't look bad... but better options available in Crouch End for sure.

Went there for the rugby world cup final. Was a good environment with friendly staff. Food delivered quickly and facilities were all very nice.

A lot can happen in five years and after a family walk we found ourselves back at a the Kings Head for a family meal again. Overall our experience was a bit better than last time and I've added a star as the food was acceptable though our sourdough loaf was stale from being sliced some time before serving. However the staff were a bit aloof and being let down by an app/website that didn't keep up to date with what WA s currently available either in the kitchen or on the bar. We also had a very long wait for our mains (Sunday roast) and had to chase both these and a side we'd ordered due to confusion with the ordering system. I wouldn't avoid The Kings Head but I wouldn't rush back either. Review from 2018: [Cool local pub with some nice beers and funky décor. Monday night . dreadful place ,ordered stakes none , changed to sausages and mash (sorry all out ) toilets right state . it's not like its cheap , now no why pubs are closing

This used to be a great pub, both for service and food. Unfortunately both have gone downhill: the food is ok but they normally run out of several dishes in the menu very early. The service though, is appalling. Our waiter was clearly unfit to deal with customers. Just awful service. We’ll probably stay away from this place for a while… there’s so many other options in Crouch End to waste your time and money with the kings head now.

Really nice pub with some good beers. However, I would ask the price before buying. I bought a pint and asked for some peanuts which came to a staggering £10. The nuts came from a jar and were enough for 3 people. They should offer different portion sizes. The person serving me could do with some lessons in customer service. Not a single word came from her mouth.

Went for a midweek lunch . Food was very good and the service was excellent . Great selection of non alcoholic drinks, which was good as we were both driving . First time I have had the zero Guinness as recommended by the bar staff , and it was excellent. We had a great time and will be back soon. The only reason i didn't score the visit a 5 was that the two fish dishes on the menu were not available.

Came to the pub with a friend for a late lunch, pub was quiet as we’d arrived after the Sunday lunchtime rush. We were seated promptly and then pretty much left to our own devices after that. No one came to take our order despite trying to get staff’s attention so we ordered through the app, which I’ve never had to at that pub before. Once we did that the waitress came over to take our order which we’d already done but asked for some water, which was then forgotten about. Our wine was pretty much dumped on our table with no greeting or anything. Food arrived and asked again for water which was then brought over. Food was okay but I’ve had better from there on previous visits to be honest. My friend enjoyed hers though. Plates weren’t collected so we’re sat there at least for another 45 mins after we finished. No one came back to our table to offer to take our plates, offer desserts, coffee etc. We left once we’d finished the wine with no goodbye or anything. Strange as past experiences I’ve had, staff have been really warm and friendly. Pub was quiet so not sure what was going on there. I’ll probably return as maybe my experience was a one off and I’ve always enjoyed my visits previously. If my experience on this visit is replicated next time however, I probably won’t.

Downstairs comedy smelled of dirty drains, made us all feel sick. Really spoilt the night which would have otherwise been great as the comedy was superb. But the smell of faeces was so overpowering. Something has to be done before they are shut down by the health inspectors
