**A Truly Thoughtful Experience at The Woodend** I recently had the privilege of attending a funeral reception at The Woodend, and I cannot speak highly enough of the service and the meal provided. During a time of sorrow, the team at The Woodend went above and beyond to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere that was both comforting and respectful. The two-course meal was exceptional. Every dish was beautifully presented and thoughtfully prepared, with generous portions that were both satisfying and delicious. The choices offered were perfect for the occasion—balanced, fresh, and comforting, with a perfect blend of flavors that provided a sense of ease in what was a difficult time. Beyond the food, the staff were incredibly attentive and considerate, ensuring that everything ran smoothly. They made sure all guests were well cared for, and their kindness truly helped ease the atmosphere of the day. It’s clear that The Woodend takes pride in not only the quality of their meals but also in creating a space where people feel supported and valued. I can’t recommend them highly enough for any event, particularly those of a more sensitive nature. Long time since I've been in the Woodend, but friendly staff and excellent service makes me think I'll be back. Et up with some pals and we had the set meal which was lovely and plenty of it. It was a good place to watch sports as well, but we were there for a catch-up and was quiet enough to do that

Myself and my daughter went for lunch. The wooden was busy and livey. Very friendly and the food was yummy, I would recommend the cheeseburger&chips.

We used the The Woodend for the wake after my sisters funeral and the service and staff were fab . So well organised and it was also very reasonably priced for two course lunch with coffee n tea . Great value

popped in to watch the Six nations game ,Italy v Scotland....decent pub with plenty of TVs and barmaids even offered a passing waitress service which was really appreciated ...although pic 1 😱

Was in recently for a funeral function, food was excellent, service from staff superb nice wee lounge upstairs totally served the purpose well.

We had gone to the Mailcoach for lunch with our puppy. He’s a bit anxious so we normally sit outside. The mailcoach refused to serve us outdoors and I’m now delighted as we wouldn’t have found this place. Lovely welcome, great Sunday lunch. I had the mushrooms then the roast chicken. Partner and puppy loved the homemade lentil soup and the roast beef. Superb value at £12.95 for 2 courses. The food was delicious! The service was superb and our wee Charley got a bowl of water too! We’ll deffo be back. Thanks so much.

A nice wee lunch and attentive service made for a pleasant lunch. Decor could do with a refresh but wouldn’t stop me returning.

Am giving this place 4 stars because of how lovely the staff are and the drinks are fine. However, the food is totally shocking. The burger meat belongs in my dogs bowl and thats me being nice. The starters where edibal but the main courses and sooo bad. I prefer this place to others locally but honestly, go for drinks NOT food. Please sort your food out.

If the sun is shining its nice to sit outside, good sun trap. Otherwise go else where- its a brewery pub, so prices are more expensive and the food is awful and no one does anything about it- even when they ask you and you tell them.

Nice bar and outdoor seating but toilets below par. Food menue looked good but did not eat.

Pub was fine. The function suite looked very tired and plain. Staff were all very good.

Was here last week with the family for lunch, food was really nice and very reasonably priced, the bar itself is very clean with a great homely atmosphere, staff were very friendly and happy to help, will definitely be back.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming on arrival and throughout our stay for dinner and drinks. The food was tasty and priced competitively along with our drinks. They had highchairs to accommodate for children. The people already drinking there were nice our 8 month baby enjoyed the attention she got from them. There was kareoke entertainment on that made a good Saturday night atmosphere.

Went for meal and drinks with my friend. First impressions not promising . Asked for bottle of wine and they don’t sell bottles 🙈🤔 only small individual bottles . Why would a restaurant/bar not sell bottles of wine ? . Ordered food and mediocre at best . Chicken tikka tasted like a home pride jar of sauce mixed with some chicken. Fish and chips 100% frozen fish and chips with a bit of salad thrown in . Will not be back . Shame as prime location and could be really good if someone took the time and effort. Should maybe take leaf out other local restaurants book. Only plus was service from barmaids was good .

First visit to the Woodend, nice place with plenty of outdoor seating and a reasonably big car park. Staff were friendly and the food was good and reasonably priced. Would definitely visit again.

Visited the “Woodend Pub” with friends and we were seated in an outside newly decked area which was great on a warm day. The choice of lagers/beers was reasonable I went for the Moretti which was lovely and the service was okayish. Understanding that reviews are one persons view(s) I’ll move onto the food. The shared starter of nachos was probably one of the worst attempts at this dish with processed cheese, not cheddar or chilli cheese melted on top giving a plastic sheen in the light, sorry didn’t taste them. Thereafter everything hot look as if had been from the freezer, burgers, chips etc and tasted like it. Would I return ...........absolutely Not

Fantastic wee pub. Great food and atmosphere. Staff are attentive and welcoming. Many of the locals have been going in for years. It's grown and changed over the years..all for the better though..known this place since the late 80's and it's always been a hidden gem of the eastend.

Great and very safe environment

Following a funeral at Daldowie Crematorium, we had booked a meal for family and friends. There was 31 attending and we were located in an upstairs room for privacy. The staff were exceptionally pleasant and served up, lentil soup with bread rolls and either haddock and chips or steak pie all of which was served quickly and hot !. We can recommend this venue for similar events

Took my son today as my lunch date let me down. Glad to say food and service 1st class as always. Newbe introduced to The Woodend, he loved it and will be back. He like me agreed there is nowhere on Hamilton Road better for quality. Thank you again . Fab lunch..fab food. Deffo the BEST for miles.

We came tonight to try the pub as friends had said it was a brilliant local. The pub was busy enough, and we were seated in the corner of the bar. We were promptly spoken to order drinks and order food. Our drinks arrived after 10 mins followed by the starters. We got our mains, I had the chicken curry which tasted like a microwave meal. The steak pie tasted nice which my partner had. We then ordered another round and after 30 minutes of waiting tried to flag the waitress down. She then chose to ignore us and carry on her conversation with another table. We chosen then to go pay the bill and leave since we seemed to be forgotten about. We were apologised too as they realised no one came to see us in that time. I wouldn’t recommend the chicken for start or mains as very dry, but the steak pie seemed great! They need to split the tables equally between staff as serving the same tables and ignoring the rest got very frustrating! Hopefully the service improves next time
