Had to sit outside as don’t allow dogs inside. Collingtree Park is prime residential area of Northampton and they expect you to sit on dirty, damp, mildew furniture. Tables just dumped, no chairs. No coffee. If they upped their game they could do well as it is a pleasant walk from our house. Will not be returning. Such a shame as it’s our nearest pub and this is the best they can do.

Amy, Martyn and their staff treated our party of eight to a lovely evening of generous hospitality. The stage was already set as The Wooden Walls itself is full of atmosphere and cosiness. Obviously, the drink flowed (well, we were in a pub) but the food, too, was excellent having been served promptly. Their steaks and chilli are very much recommended. Couldn't have asked for more from the evening. Pubs seem to be becoming emptied as time goes by. The Wooden Walls bucks the trend proving the case that with the right management and staff, the local pub is alive and well. Indeed, in rude health!!

I visited here base on the reviews and was not disappointed. Friendly welcome from the bar staff and plenty of airy rooms to choose. We opted for the Lamb Sunday Roast and the Nut roast. Both were equally well presented and the food was delicious. Reasonably priced too. I will be returning soon for another treat.

Best meal out I’ve been to so far this year! We had arrived half an hour early and they let us sit down at a table! So pleased. The food was delicious. Definitely recommend it! The staff were so friendly and bubbly and cheerful and it was such a good atmosphere! The service was great too. I asked for a lemon and lime and one of the barmen actually bought me an actual lemon and a lime for a joke. 😂Me and my boyfriend found it so funny! 😂(I did get a lemon and lime too😂) 1000 out of 10! Definitely coming here again.

Lovely evening at this pub. Was staying at the Northampton Hilton and it was only a 5 -6 minute walk. Real ales and decent wine. Also do a good selection of Rums. Really friendly staff and other people in there. more like a micro than a pub in terms of vibe. Food was standard pub grub steaks, burgers, chilli etc. all nicely done so that is by no means a complaint. Pub is over 600 years old and has bar skittles, darts board and outside area. If you are staying at the Hilton this is far nicer for food and drink of an evening. Also only just off the M1 so makes a good place to stop if need a lunchtime stop.

We've popped in sporadically over the last few years and stumbled back there following August's lockdown and the pub re-opening under new management. What a fabulous welcome from Andy & Angie and their team. Great outdoor space for all weathers, and a warm intimate inside. Great for evenings I want to head up alone and have man chat; also more regularly when I head up with my wife and our 4-year old daughter - the pub has a dog, Winnie, who has a cult like following among patrons young and old. We've eaten in, and more recently had take aways and taste, look and portions always great.

Having recently found this hidden inn, we visited last Friday. The pub is a tiny little local spot, where if you suffer from claustrophobia, this isn't the place for you, but if you like a cozy tavern, brill. The menu was pretty standard pub fare and both of us ordered burgers which were good, if not a little overworked (the meat was supertight and cricket ball-esque - tip: use a dessert spoon to create an indent in your burgers and they'll hold their shape better when cooking). Excellent chips though and the desserts were excellent. It was busy as it was a friday night but overall the staff coped with the locals and people dining well. They had a broken card machine when we visited, but we were forewarned to bring cash, so all fine there. All in all, good for a bite to eat.

I would agree with the last few reviews. The food is slightly on the expensive side, especially considering you have to go through an ordeal to order it well in advance of actually being hungry and when it does eventually arrive it is very average. I genuinely feel bad for leaving a bad review against a proper local pub that is trying to make a living. On the other hand, the bar staff were not interested in improving and the management responses below are full of excuses.

Todos los platos estaban muy bien preparadas y servidas por el personal encantador y amable. La casera salió a ver si todos estábamos satisfechos con lo que ella había preparado, que es un bonito detalle. Was staying at Hilton Northampton and see this pub restaurant on TripAdvisor . Five minute walk and well worth a little wait for some great home made food. It was extremely busy and we were glad we booked a table.Staff were very friendly and attentive, I really enjoyed the fish pie and my daughter ate her cottage pie, a first for a fussy 14 year old. Highly recommend and intend to return next time we get a chance.

Although we have lived in Northampton for more than 20 years we had never before heard of this pub/ restaurant until some friends mentioned it recently, so we thought we would try it out. We weren't disappointed. The lunchtime menu is shorter than the evening one, but offers a good, wide ranging choice. The fish pie was excellent, as was my sandwich and the desserts (a crème brulee and a crumble with lashings of custard). The bar staff and chef were very affable and helpful. We will return to try out the evening menu and the Sunday roast lunch.

We visited in this pub on Thursday 29th September whilst attending a conference and staying at The Hilton hotel approx 5 minute walk away . The staff were very welcoming when we arrived and I was pleased to see they had some good real ales on tap. The ale did not disappoint as it was well kept and the food was excellent in both quality and value for money. We had the whitbait and stuffed pepper to start both which were excellent. Img friend had the burger which was very tatty and Inhad the fish pie which was just greT, full of flavour and had to be homemade to taste so good. A lovely meal thank you and if anyone is considering going please do as this is a lovely pub

Brilliant old fashioned Pub in a lovely village. The food and the service here is truly excellent. I have been here several times due to regular stays at the nearby Hilton hotel and each visit has been enjoyable. On the last visit the owner/manageress gave my colleagues and I a lift back to our hotel due the heavy rain storm which started as we were leaving. If you are looking for good food in a very friendly environment then this place is a must.

We were staying in Northampton and once we found this place we ate here every night that we were in town. It's located in the heart of one of the cutest neighborhoods and it is a real neighborhood pub. One half is a pub and one half is a restaurant that is open for dinner cooked by the owner, Sue Blackman, TW and Th. The menu is very eclectic and I had her fish pie everytime we were there but the three others in our group tried many different things. We loved everything! Sue was thrilled that we loved her food and would send out extra things for us. On the last night we were there it was a birthday and she made us Crepes Suzette which was not on the menu but it was a special treat that was so much better than a cake with a candle! We had great wine and beer and we were all in agreement that this was our favorite food during our 2 weeks in England. Sue even told us to call her a few days ahead if we thought of something in particular that we wanted her to make for us. What a fun experience with all sweet, kind young male wait staff and Sue visiting our table each night. Do not ever miss this place as it will be a real loss. There is also an nice outdoor eating area for bigger crowds.

Returning after several years we found The Wooden Walls greatly improved and had an excellent meal. Very good home cooked food, revitalised decor and a warm welcome. Nice menu with pub staples and original dishes. New patio areas have transformed the large garden. Will be back very soon.

We came to the Yeoman after the funeral of a family member. Anwen looked after us really well and guided us when choosing a suitable buffet for everyone, including those on a gluten free diet. The buffet was just what we wanted, thank you to all those involved.

Beware, there be dragons. Went for a quick pint here after being in the sun pub down the road. Worlds different, the staff in the sun were nice, the vibe was cracking, great music, then walked into the desperate joy void that is the crown. Don't go. The landlady was like a bulldog chewing a wasp. It is no wonder the place is tumbleweed. I felt as welcome as a fart in a lift. Just save yourself the grief, go to the sun. Ye have been warned
