First time getting a takeaway from this restaurant, it will be the last. Food was very bland and the rice very over cooked, more like rice pudding. It is a shame as the people seem very nice, I hope for their sake this was a one off, but I will not go there again

We have been coming to the Woburn Fort for over 20 years. It's great to see the restaurant return to the original founders. Food is always superb, faultless and exceptionally cooked with great authentic taste. The service you get from Ishi and the team is exemplary, and you are made to feel welcome.

The staff were very friendly and the food was delicious. The array of dips you get with the poppadoms was great value and the portion sizes for the mains made another whole meal for each of us in our doggy bag. Will definitely be the only restaurant we go to for Indian food in Milton Keynes. Our 1st visit here was GREAT 👍🏾

We used to love the Fort.... Stalwart customers... Then a few years ago it all changed..... Different name, owners and team..... It went downhill then out of business. So, we were pleased to learn that the original owner has returned... and gave it a try. Sadly, despite the obvious enthusiasm of the front of house team, they are fighting a losing battle with stark decor (blu-white lighting) and food that we found inedible - I strained a muscle in my jaw trying to chew the lamb ... The Nan bread was good and we weren't ill.... So that's something.

What a great find! Cannot believe we have not tried The Woburn Fort before, my only disappointment is we have never eaten here in the past. The food was all excellent from start to finish, the rice cooked to perfection as was the chicken . The restaurant is not large but the service was faultless where you can see the enthusiasm of the staff going that extra way to please every customers needs. Would we return? YES without a doubt!

The Woburn Fort is back! After a period when it was known as the Woburn Brasserie followed by almost a year of closure, the Woburn Fort has been reopened by the original owner. My wife and I decided to give it a try and we were not disappointed. The food is really good and you can be sure of a friendly welcome from Martin the manager and his staff. We had deliciously succulent Chicken Tikka and a Salmon Bite with a superb sauce which included fresh herbs and Tamarind and was main course in size. Then we tried the beef Hyderabad cooked in chillis, tamarind, coriander and tomatoes and the Bengal Tiger prawns. These brought back the glory days of the old Woburn Fort and the completely new menu has something for everyone. We have no hesitation in recommending a visit, you will not be disappointed.

Now the Sands Brasserie. The jumbo prawn starter is a must. Also love the chicken with butternut squash as a main with something a little bit different. The staff are always very welcoming. Only downside is the refurbishment is still "Old Indian" and it could do with feeling more contemporary. Plus there is no brasserie- its just a normal Indian menu for the most part.

Visited here for a leaving meal for a friend, found the service poor and food to be bland. I found a hair in my starter, which I pointed out to the waiter, who laughed and asked me if I would like another which I declined. I was surprised to find I was charged for the starter, and when I asked I was told “well you did not want another one” and refused to remove it from the bill. I have not been here before and would not go back. The restaurant has also been renamed, so new owners maybe in charge. Very poor

On a mission trying every curry house around these parts and mostly disappointed but I think I have found the only true curry palace yesterday evening. To be honest I booked the Jalori a few doors down but when we arrived it was completely empty so backtracked to Sands Brasserie (formerly Woburn Fort) and so glad we did. Greeted by a big smile from Musa and sumptuous smells wafting around the cosy restaurant. Clientele raving about the food and service and rightly so. Nothing was too much trouble, very flavoursome and very well spiced food. They say on their website 'Once you step through the doors of Sands Brasserie, you will be welcomed by our friendly staff. We will spoil you for choice with our extensive menu' and they certainly do. Highly recommend the chicken methi - it was divine! I don't care how long you say it's going to be... please have it ready in that time. There is NOTHING more annoying than getting to a take away when they say it'll be ready and waiting ANOTHER 10/15/20 minutes for the food to be ready. That is all. Taken their by friends. I would not have gone in had I been on my own as the outside looks a bit basic. But the warm welcome and different menu soon changed my mind. Some interesting dishes I'd not tried before and lots of flavour without the burn. They tell you if you want it hotter just to say. I had lamb tikka as part of my meal and the meat fell to bits in my mouth.. always a good sign of a good marinade and not being rushed! My friends lived locally and they had created their own 'special' curry which they ordered by name... Not huge; I'd say about 30 ish covers so I'd say it's safer to book if you can. If I lived locally I'd have to discipline myself not to go every day it's so good.

Me and a couple of work colleagues visited for an early dinner and were impressed by the very large menu selection and the quality of the food. After obligatory bottles of Cobra and some poppadoms (with 5 different sauces), we had starters that consisted of a couple of large onion bhajis and sizzling shish kebab. the Bhajis were very large and a little bit spicy, but not particularly greasy. For mains, we had a combination of lamb Dupiaza, Chicken Korma, Bhuna, some mushroom rice and some assorted Naan bread. All were cooked perfectly and had a range of spices that suited just about all our tastes. The portion sizes were also just right. When we were presented our bill (about on par with what you'd expect around MK), we were also given a shot of Baileys - a lovely way to end the meal. All in all, I'd recommend visiting if you're in a small group or as a couple. The only negatives in my opinion were the slightly overly 'cosy' conditions and a couple of soft poppadoms.Would happily visit again.

The food was very good, large portions (almost too big) well cooked & nicely spiced. The staff were very pleasant and service was quick. Price was reasonable rather than cheap. There was only 1 problem - at the end of the very good meal they bought us a shot glass each of creamy looking liquid which I mistakenly thought was Lassi. It turned out to be Irish cream liqueur - very generous of them but as we'd had fizzy water with our meal they really should have warned us that it was strong alcohol. We both had quite a long drive so it was wasted - luckily I'd only taken 1 rather large sip.

This is a pretty small restaurant, so must get buzzy when busy. We wanted a quick in and out early on a Friday for a concert at the amazing stables. We were the only customers and our wish was delivered. The quality of food was ok, the only feedback I could say was serving my Tikka on a flat cold plate with no decoration at all just six bits of meat on a saucer was a bit underwhelming and unappealing. This is a traditional style Indian, we have a lot of choice nowadays where the serious staff who don't engage at all with the customer, and the, crap background music and bland service have been revitalised, however this location served the purpose intended hence 4 stars, would not be the same for a proper Saturday night out.

The Woburn Fort had, until our last visit, been a favourite haunt for excellent Indian food, at a reasonable price for the area. So while I feel it's a shame to do the place down at all, I feel I should say something for other potential diners. The food is possibly the best in the Milton Keynes/surrounds area, but the service, in particular from one waiter on our last visit, was surly, rude and dismissive. My partner and mother got a glare for having the audacity to order tap water rather than alcohol or other drinks from the bar. After the meal, when I asked the same guy to decant some uneaten vegetables into separate containers for us to take away, he just said "they're all vegetables" and tipped them into one in front of us, despite all at the table asking him not to.A few minor points - they're not that great at explaining their dishes to the unititiated. We were also served an incorrect veggie dish, but to be fair, that could happen anywhere.Overall, my feeling is that there's a complacency about the fact that people pay good money to eat there, and in our case, regularly. While I'm no Daily Mail reader, I do appreciate better and friendlier service if we're parting with our cash.Sadly will not be going there again as that meal was supposed to be a treat for my mum.

Our 1st time here and we were well received and shown a table for 2. The table was next to the door from the kitchen but was at least a fair distance from other diners. Apart from 2 or 3 other tables those nearer the entrance were very cramped and was where the waiters answer the phone, plus you have customers waiting for their take away and there is no room so they kind of hang over you.The menus looked tired, new ones need to be printed. The food was very nice and the portions are very big be aware. Lots of choice on the menu and the house speciality is really quite excellent.Because the restaurant is so small so are the tables and so are the plates! For example they bring the food out by hand not on a trolley and saw our dishes stacked on each other which was off putting. For an informal curry with friends it is okay but if you want a meal experience to be relaxing then look elsewhere. On the plus side a complimentary drink was given plus sweets plus after eight plus a fresh rose for my wife on the exit.If this restaurant could relocate or extend it would be near perfect....once the menus are reprinted

I went here after my graduation ceremony at Cranfield university with my family. The waiters were excellent. The choice of food is also very good. The dips with the popadoms were great, slightly different to what you normally get. The mains tasted good. Reasonably priced. No complaints. Would recommend

Lived in the area for a few years and for some reason have just not eaten at the Fort. Always seemed to go to the Jalori. Until now. Decided to try it and we were not disappointed. The food really was excellent (lots of chef specials), with service to match. Already been back and it will now be our Indian of choice in the area.

We visited here whilst staying on a quiet 2 night break close by. There is the choice of 2 Indian restaurants in Woburn Sands, but chose the Woburn Fort after looking online & discovering their extensive menu!Yes, the restaurant is small... but I can assure you it's perfectly formed!! The food was amazing... totally fresh & authentic. The portion sizes were very good... lots of fluffy rice, cooked perfectly, and with very generous portions of meat in our curries. The service was attentive & all of the staff were just lovely. (I was even given a rose when we left, by the manager!)We were quite late dining & the restaurant was not too busy. I can imagine if the restaurant was full it would be a little cosy...but am sure that would just add to the atmosphere and ambience of this fab place! We were so impressed, that the following day we came back for a later night take away meal, which was just as good as was served in the restaurant on our previous visit. They even offered to lend my husband plates & cutlery, which were not needed as our accommodation had everything we required... but so nice of them to ask.

I went to the Woburn Fort for the first time last night, and the food was fabulous - and so was the service. We'll definitely be going again.

We had an excellent meal, served by a very friendly and helpful staff. The bill was very reasonable and I can certainly recommend a visit. We have also had a takeaway from this restaurant which is also good value.

Most curry enthusiasts love the food at the Woburn Fort and although Asian food isn't my number one preference, I always enjoy it there - especially their Tandoori Chicken which manages to be moist yet non-greasy. Seating is a tight squeeze, though ... not suitable unless you don't mind squashing up a bit. Good value, very pleasant staff.

Best indian restaurant for miles, nothing is too much trouble for the staff and as usual we ordered dishes not quite as they appear on the menu but they can accomodate anything and the recommendarions are always delicious. The atmosphere is good regardless of how busy or quiet and the food quality is consistantly high.

We visited for a take away yesterday and we were very impressed with menu and the way you could choose the level of spice to your taste for the vast majority of dishes. The food was delicious and flavoursome. The service was attentive but not intrusive. Would highly recommend and will definitely be going back.
