Great Food, Great Service, Great Wine

We arrived at opening time and we were first in so we couldn't really judge the atmosphere. We had the charcuterie and some bread to share which was very good. The English wines are expensive and we were all right.

Lovely selection of wine and cosy ambience to enjoy it in.

The quality of the food was good but not great. We ordered the charcuterie board and added the jamón ibérico as well as the padron peppers and English sourdough bread. The wine was excellent (we ordered the Bordeaux flight).

A glass of wine with my aunts after shopping. A great choice of wine. Staff was friendly and helpful. Not too happy they did not offer my elderly aunts a normal table, instead they have to climbed on high chairs at a table by the door. My aunt loves Fortnam and shopped here every time she visit. She still had a great time. We will come back and try the set lunch… great value!

Great selection by glass. Was happy to see 175ml as a standard glass size. The space is cosy and allows for a comfortable conversation.

Had a horrible experience today. We waited 45 minutes for food to come out. Couple at table beside us came in and left again while we were waiting as they were unable to get served. Meanwhile the manager (stout bearded man) stood at the front desk audibly yelling at the poor front of house guy over some till mix up for over 20 minutes getting more and more angry and uncomfortable for us to watch. He also slammed the front gate several times, slammed our table and berated other staff. All while we looked on waiting for 3 pieces of cheese and some crackers. I could have milked the cow myself in the meantime

Lovely wines and nibbles. Always love to go back whenever visiting London. Wish they got more seats. Busy most of times

Excellent spot in the west end for great wine

Had a great experience, tried the wine flights so we got to taste 3 different wines. Only downside that it closed quite early so we didn’t get to spend as much time there as we would have liked

Just had a lovely time in this wine bar with my parents. Balraj (our server) was so kind and very knowledgeable. This made it extra special. A wonderful shopping pitstop!

Jan and fernando looked after us like royalty. They work so hard and should be given a pay rise. We loved our experience so much, their expertise on wine and chutney was outstanding x

One of my favourite wine bars in London for three great reasons: (I) you can drink any wine from the wineshop for a corkage & (II) friendly staff & (III) great location

dropped in for evening bite and some wine. warm welcome, pleasant evening with some humour. food was great.

Appalling. We made a reservation, were seated and then waited over 25 minutes for service, which never came. Gave up and went elsewhere. Don't bother - not worth your time or money.

Tucked away in the rear of the lower ground floor of the store is The Wine Bar. Decorated in wood with a centre bar you can sit at. I had lunch here and would happily come back again

I had an amazing experience visiting this wine bar 2 weeks ago after just arriving in London. I was travelling alone but Fernando and his colleagues made me feel very comfortable as they were very welcoming. He had a very strong knowledge of wine demonstrated by his ability to determine the wines that suited my palate. Highly recommend going.

I stumbled upon this wine bar while visiting the must see Fortnum & Mason store. Let me tell you that the must see is the wine bar and its staff. They all are wonderful to talk to and they treat you like royalty. I was in London for 2 days but my favorita part was this place. Hands down the best experience in my Europe trip. Thank you Cynthia and staff for your wonderful hospitality.

Quite an elegant and fun place layout with, a good array of wine flights and a more than decent wine by the glass option. As soon as I walked in with no reservation Anabel made me feel at home with her particular English accent and that sparkle she has. I had a superb cheeseboard with the selection of your choice and the top-rated flight which was marvellous. She went above and beyond to make the best of my experience, was very knowledgeable and professional, definitely an asset to the company. If you are looking for a place to enjoy wine and appetisers, It's not a place to be missed, I'd highly recommend it.

This is my 3rd time at the wine bar- lovely atmosphere, delicious food and I love getting to taste their wines. My favourite is the Marlborough SB by F&M- fairly reasonable at £44. The service is always exceptional. Highly recommend.

The food was divine, the place is beautiful but the wait was too long, hence the 4 stars. Thankfully we had overly staff to entertain us while we were waiting for the food. Hopefully next time we won't have to wait too long before getting our food. Definitely recommend trying.

For a special treat away from the busy crowded bars this is an oasis.

This is a lovely place to visit and meet. The staff were lovely and so friendly. Food is as always fantastic and the place has a nice little buzz. If your feeling a little more adventurous you can wine etc from the wine cellar and drink in the bar giving you a lot more choice.

Excellent, out of the way location in the store. Our table was perfectly positioned, the service was excellent and the food fab.

The wine bar is going off the boil. It closes too early and staff are offhand on service in the last 30 mins.

As always this Wine bar offers fantastic ambiance, great food and friendly service.... we will be back....

I was in London for the day on my own so decided to have a late lunch here. I had a trio of oysters and the smoked salmon duo washed down with a couple of glasses of Sancerre. The oysters were really good as was the salmon, and although I’m not a great wine drinker the wine I chose was lovely. The atmosphere was relaxing and the staff were friendly and helpful. I will definitely return when I’m next in London.

I chose this wine bar for early evening drinks with friends visiting from California. They have membership of various vineyards in CA and are knowledgeable about wine. They were very impressed with everything about The Wine Bar and particularly with the welcome, the recommendations and the general knowledge of staff. This was my first visit to The Wine Bar and I hope to return often. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Not cheap but such a nice place to be. Great wine to be had by the glass and excellent ‘small bites’ food. And of course an excuse to visit the wonderful F&M

Fantastic experience and a credit to the store unfortunately not a great many options for vegetarians regarding the pasta of the day ? But overall a quality experience and excellent as you would expect wine selection

Just too small and way too loud. The idea of a wine bar with some decent food served at F&M is great. Unfortunately the execution is just poor. Service is great and our waitress was attentive, helpful and couldn't fault her. Although we did have to ask for our table to be wiped down as it was covered in drinks from the previous people. The biggest issues are the fact the noise is just too much. You have to almost shout tone heard and most of what you do hear is other people on the tables that are way too close. A shame as I was really looking forward to this, but we had one quick drink and some snacks and got out of there as quick as we could.

The place was crowded and noisy which meant heating voices difficult. The tables were also very cramped

Had to wait 15 minutes for my booked table, a further 20 minutes to get someone to take our order. We received our drinks around 15 minutes later and then were not approached again for any other drinks which we would have liked. Overall really bad service, won't be returning.

This is our 3rd consecutive year pre Christmas , and it is always a pleasure!

We wanted to enjoy the Fortnum & Mason experience so booked for the wine bar. We noticed that they almost gave our table to their walk ins in front and it took a while to get the menu and then to order. When we had to follow up on the order it started to feel like hard work!

Me and my fiance really enjoyed our experience at the F&M wine bar and will definitely be back in the future! Lovely ambiance, especially over Christmas - made us feel festive - good wine too! We'll definitely be back!

A perfect place to meet for lunch, relaxed and welcoming. The three dishes that we had, padron peppers, smoked salmon and endive with goats cheese were all well-presented and delicious. The wine was extensive and the waiter was on hand to give advice. Recommended in all respects.

Food and wine amazing and well worth it. Staff very nice, however service slow - appreciate it's Christmas, however too slow. Table was wobbly and we had to ask to get it fixed - not very good for such an expensive experience. Would absolutely recommend it as I know the service can be better - it is a great food and wine experience.

An oasis of calm away from the busy shop. Excellent choice of wines at very good value. Delicious Welsh rarebit and padron peppers made for a delicious light lunch. Courteous staff and all in all a lovely spot for lunch.

Always a friendly welcome , although we only come once a year at Christmas , the Head Waiter always remembers us ! If we lived nearer would definitely come more often. Good value for money.

Cozy warm hideaway in the belly of F&M. Wonderful wine list and charcuterie & cheese selections to pair with the vino. Prices are not as high as you might expect. Attention to detail is spot on. Good service, too.

Been here a few times and had a lovely time each time but this time was different. Staff weren’t as attentive - although the lady who ended up with us and cleared the plates was really nice. Music was horribly loud and we had to talk so loud over it. Just a shame as it was first time for my mum visiting and I’m not sure we would return.

I’ve been here on a number of occasions and was really disappointed with the service on Friday. Waiting over 15 minutes to get served a glass of wine is unacceptable. We could see the glasses waiting at the bar, but serving staff very disorganised.

Another lovely lunch but sadly the bar is so busy due to Christmas shoppers. You must book in advance for a lunchtime slot.

Our table was booked for 1230. On entering the Wine Bar we were taken to our table immediately. The restaurant was very very busy and there was a real buzz about the place. Our order was taken very quickly and the two glasses of wine we ordered were brought to us within 5 minutes. That was the only good thing about the service during our visit. Twenty minutes wait for food after the wine. Was served. We were never informed when our order was taken that there would be a wait for food nor did our server attempt to let us know about this during the waiting time. We ordered three items - Artisan bread and tapenade,duck terrine and a piece of Lanark blue cheese and crackers. The bread duly arrived after 20 minutes but not the other two items! After the bread was finished we then waited another 20 minutes for the other 2 items to arrive. When we asked the server she did apologise and within minutes the other items appeared. They then also tried to bring out another portion of the Arisan bread and we informed the waiter that we had already received that part of the order,which he duly apologised for and took away. During our visit I witnessed wrong orders being taken to customers and customers not receiving the correct orders. In my opinion the poor staff were run off their feet as the place was far too busy and they could not cope with the volume of customers they had. Our server apologised to us for the delay in receiving our food when we asked for our bill which was decent of her,but if a restaurant cannot cope with the volume of customers then surely the management should have stepped in and perhaps put a cap on the amount of customers they would let in at a given point. I have used the Wine Bar on several occasions and have always found everything to be spot on. Not on this occasion. We were very disappointed.

Great atmosphere, lovely wine selection and the food is on point to compliment the wine. The smoked salmon is a must!

Después de haber estado en la Royal Academy, mi esposo y yo decidimos que The Wine Bar ar Fortnum and Masons nos pareció una delicia. ¡Que decepcion! Estoy sorprendido por algunas de las otras críticas. El lugar real es más como una cafetería, no el entorno lujoso que sugeriría el nombre de F&M. La oferta de almuerzo de pasta y vino no estaba a la altura que hubiéramos esperado: parecía que la pasta había estado esperando a ser servida durante varios minutos. El paté de hígado de pollo estaba descuidado. Era bastante tranquilo y no había atmósfera en absoluto. El único punto positivo fue el personal, todos amables y eficientes. ¿Volveríamos? ¡Absolutamente no!

Always a good stopping off place after a hard day. Wines are good quality and staff are friendly and knowledgeable.

This is the second time we have visited the wine bar for a birthday celebration. It didn't disappoint, it was fabulous. The service is excellent, the food is amazing. It's small ish so intimate but busy enough that it was a good atmosphere. I think the best thing we have learned form this second visit is that it isn't just a treat or celebration place, its reasonably priced enough that you can get amazing food and a glass of wine for not a lot at all - probably no more then you'd spend elsewhere. We love the style of small plates and just ordering 6/7 and sharing - its perfectly relaxed and casual but with a sense of decadence all wrapped in to one. We love it - you have to try it!

A great place to enjoy a fine bottle of wine and a charcuterie and cheese platter. Great service and a fine setting. Really enjoyed the time we spent here and will definitely return in the future. Will also make sure we're commend this place to our friends and family.

Power cut and closed so very inconvenient to find another venue for pre event drink. Why no back up generator?

Very disappointed travelled from the North West for 50th celebration. Arrived at Fortnums to be told it was shut due to power cut. No telephone call to try and stop us traveling to the venue. I accept problems happen but when booking telephone number is given so at the very least you would expect someone to try and call you. Very disappointed

Always excellent. Superb food and wine. Ask for advice on wine and you will be treated to the best wines, with a full explanation of where they are produced. The staff may have the knowledge but it is shared in a friendly and unstuffy way. The best place in London to chill over a glass of wine. So good I visited the next day.
