The Windsor Castle in City of London, Westminster

I came up from Surrey to organise a support group meeting for people who share the same background as me. We didn't know each other before but we all found that the environment was conducive to intimate and relaxed chat. The food was great. I liked the beer. The new bar manager, Greg, was very welcoming and introduced himself when I said I come to the pub regularly. So thanks Greg and your team and good luck

A very nice little pub that serves a full menu of food. It doesn't, however, have much by the way of beer as it is a Samuel Smith's pub. So, there is Old Brewery Bitter and that's about it. Never mind, OBB is not bad. The layout is original Victorian/Edwardian and is very similar to the Princess Louise in Holborn. Food was good, atmosphere was good.

Great one for the boys, very polite and accommodating service, upper room can be rented out and used easily. Have to fill minimum character limit, vey kind.

Prista was a fabulous host. She looked after us wonderfully and was jovial all the time. Highly recommend to anyone popping past to have a pit stop and have a pint!!

The interior is a beautiful Victorian pub. Plenty of seating inside. We ate lunch in the early afternoon the pub was really quiet but the food was hot and excellent for the price. The staff were friendly and helpful. Worth a visit.

This used to be my favourite pub in London. Unfortunately it has recently implemented a ludicrous ‘no phones’ policy which is very strictly enforced. One member of staff thought it necessary to interrupt me and my friends’ conversation to order me to put my phone away, despite it being face down on the table! Unless you wish to relive your primary school days I would advise you avoid this place. Plenty of nice alternatives just round the corner in the Greencoat Boy and The Albert where you will be suitably treated as adults.

Very nice English ambiance and theme where most are pubs and this serves great food and especially their specialty of draft beers which is great!! I would say this is really an off the beaten track dining place good for lunches!

Great restoration of a Victorian pub with all the glass and partitions in place. 6 or 7 rooms - however they have not replaced the interconnecting doors. Sam Smiths and draft too. Worth a visit for the nostalgia

Tener testimonio de el espectáculo pequeño incluso el gerente no reaccionar correctamente y pedimos mi pareja dejar porque el camarero le hace mintiendo a él de ser un buen profesional. My friend and myself visited the Samuel Smiths Pub Windsor Castle in Frances Street our local pub, The bar-man left the bar and confronted us and shouted and acted very aggressively and threating behaviour which I have reported to the police. The responsible licence owner must run back the CCTV and see what happened.

I live local to this pub and I generally approve however when the kitchen closes it is polite to remove the menus because if you leave them out then people believe the restaurant is still open, when I approached the bar staff I was told “the kitchen is shut, we can do what we like”.. amazing people skills mate! During our visit to London we set ourselves a challenge to visit new Sam Smiths pubs to us as well as old favourites. This pub near Victoria station is very deceptive looking small from the outside. A very popular haunt with workers and tourists. Great stylish pub, glad we got in early as seats were at a premium. Also had fun playing Try Me.

A reliable member of the Sam Smith's stable of pubs in London, the WC is located in a relatively quiet backstreet of vibrant and rejuvenated Victoria but once you're in, the passage of time and the prices roll back the years and you're almost in another world.

Found this pub on our last trip to London. We went out of our way to return this trip a the food was amazing and this time, it didn't disappoint. There is a nice, quaint pub atmosphere endnote overrun with crowds. The traditional English ales were amazing. Will go again on our next trip.

A popular boozer that gets busy with after-work crowds. Decent and well-priced Sam Smiths drinks - but not the brands you might know from other pubs.

This has become an annual event. A group of us go to the Christmas market by Vincent Square and then once all shopping finished retreat to the Windsor castle. However this is the first year that we had lunch as well as a few beverages. The food is reasonably priced and plenty to choose from. It was very nice and the portion sizes are good. Will be back next year.

Advertising food on tables and boards. Turned up at 2.30pm to be told chef was no longer cooking coz he had too much washing up to do. You couldn’t make it up

This is an interesting pub, very old London style with lots of nooks and crannies. The food was good - my friend had fish and chips and I had pie - very tasty pie, beef and ale (no gristly bits!). Quite a few beers on and a couple of ciders. I'd definitely go to this pub again.

Este fue un ruidoso pub en el piso principal pero arriba tranquilo. Encontramos una mesa arriba en nuestra propia ya que no fue una anfitriona al asiento. Situado justo detrás de la catedral de Westminster es esta joya de Pub. He seguido el Met Policía Coro aquí un día después de un servicio, y ahora tienden a pasarse por aquí cuando estoy pasando. Es como retroceder en el tiempo a lo Pubs solía ser. Un bonito cervezas tradicionales y orgánicos Lager. La comida está bien presentado y con un muy buen nivel. El personal es amable. Si eres un turista yo creo que esto es lo que están buscando para ver un trocito de la verdadera tradicional Inglaterra! Regálese uno de los pasteles de pollo o carne de cerdo o un pastel!

Si no experimentado personalmente, no lo creo! Ayer salimos con mi esposa después de todo el día paseando en Londres y queríamos tener una cerveza allí. Pero nos dijeron que "Debemos comer"! Sin comer, "Desaparece". Había muchas mesas vacías que podíamos sentarnos pero no pudimos! Incluso después de llamar a un gerente de camarera nos dijo que ella sabe que es tonterías, pero debe escuchar al gerente. Nunca más!

Lovely Sam Smiths pub hidden away near Victoria. Great beers as usual and a beautiful interior. Food really good as well for a very reasonable price. Staff very welcoming and friendly. We arrived at 4pm and didn't leave because it was so nice.

Bien. Por dónde empezar. Sólo estuvimos allí por un corto periodo de tiempo. Todos nos compramos cervezas y me senté. Uno de nuestro grupo es un diabético y necesitaba para comer lo que llevan por sólo una ocurrencia. Un gerente (me imagino que un pesebre dado que él era un poco más viejo y más portly que todos los demás :)) para ver esto nos dijo recurrir a obscenidades que todos nosotros ahora debe salir. La bandeja de cervezas de distancia sobre la pierna derramando algunas de uno de los del grupo y reafirmó la forma original sweary. Era como que había tenido un mal día y algo hizo clic. Era bastante extraño comportamiento. No nos daría un reembolso. Creo que es bastante divertido, y él claramente tenía problemas que causaron el estallido. Pero todavía.

La mejor cosa sobre este pub victoriano es el hermoso interior. La cerveza era buena también - tuvimos puro Brew y handpull Old Brewery amargo en la encantadora. Este es probablemente el favorito para una noche buena con amigos. Buena calidad y comida de pub a un precio razonable. No hay una comida estilo restaurante aquí, pasteles o pescado y patatas fritas son geniales. Siempre recién hecha y caliente.

Me fui el sábado a algunos alimentos y bebidas con mis amigos. Nos lo pasamos de maravilla. Dee, Mark y el resto de su personal era encantador, atento y servicial y la comida era estupenda. Tuve el risotto vegetariano y estaba delicioso, mucho mejor que el típico 'comida de pub y el tamaño de la porción era perfecta y a un precio razonable. Aunque era un sábado de un mesa grande para bebidas y el ambiente era muy agradable y no demasiado concurrida o estridente. La decoración así es precioso. Recomendaría este lugar.

Sono stata varie volte in questo pub per bere qualcosa - hanno birra prodotta nel birrificio Samuel Smith in Yorkshire - ma solo recentemente mi sono fermata per pranzo. Io ed i miei colleghi siamo stati tutti molto soddisfatti.Il menu comprende cibi tipicamente da pub, ma curati e fatti in casa. Inoltre una sezione del menu' e' appositamente dedicata alle opzioni vegetariane/vegane, di cui offre una scelta piu' ampia rispetto ad un pub medio.

We had passed this pub on many occasions so I finally dropped in for a glass of wine (a good Chenin Blanc from South Africa). Nice, classy premises, lots of small compartmentalized wood-paneled areas elegantly separated with beautiful etched glass dividers. Friendly service. It was about 4 pm and the place was very quiet, by close to 5 pm plenty of more people had arrived but there still was none of the excessively loud noise normally associated with early evening hours in the pubs - a welcome respite. We will definitely return for a try-out of their food menu.

My first visit to The Windsor Castle this week and I was very impressed with this "oldie worldly" pub/restaurant. The decor is superb with stunning glass panels throughout the premises, a very rare sight to see these days,unless you enjoy modern style pubs. The food is excellent with a very varied menu. If your in London near Victoria, don't miss out the chance to relax with a pint or a glass of wine.

did not give the 5 stars only because the service was average. we were sitting at the table for at least 5 minutes and we were not offered the menus, had to borrow from the people sitting at another table. after that everything was very good, food excellent and the atmosphere quite nice. will definitely return :)

I visited here for the the first time on Thursday February 25th with a friend. I always like drinking a pint of Taddy at Sam Smyths pubs.The pub decor is very nice and traditional and the place was spotlessly cleanI found the barsaff, to be very friendly ,personable and chatty, it was funny when the barlady told me she thought I had a Welsh accent, I am Irish!I really loved the fact that its a dog friendly bar and the owners two minature pinchers were adorable.It was really nice to get a goodbye from the barstaff as we left. I will be back again, when I visit London.

We started using this place a few months ago as an after work stop gap before the commute home. The beer is excellent, the staff are more so. All very friendly and efficient with a great sense of humour which has apparently been misunderstood by other reviewers on other sites. The sight of the landlord asking a coffee drinker if she'd also like her crisps microwaved was particularly hilarious. Can't recommend highly enough. Keep up the good work chaps!

This seemed like a sensible venue for a while, until we were approached by a rude and aggressive man (apparently the manager) who reprimanded our party for not buying enough drinks previously, despite the fact that we had purchased several drinks and pitchers from the downstairs area which had a better range.This alone left a rather bitter taste, but when one member of our group went to buy a non-alcoholic beverage, he was refused service by the same man. Refusing service for someone who may have dietary or religious considerations, I remind you, is illegal.So, we cancelled our food, voted with our wallets and decided to go somewhere else. This was so disappointing, because most of the staff were really nice to us - it's such a shame that the manager has to use his presence to intimidate and harass otherwise innocent patrons and give the pub a bad name.If it wasn't otherwise clear, we likely won't be returning.
