Eaten here many times and have never been disappointed but this latest visit was not good. The member of Staff that took our order looked so miserable. We ordered and waited an hour for meal to arrive. The food was of poor quality and not quite as expected. Out of five meals ordered just the fish finger sandwich looks ok. The ploughman's was very poor with a spoon full of processed grated cheddar and small slice of blue cheese, the ham was very nice and plenty full. I had praised you to my friends but the experience was not a good one, a great shame.

Have passed this pub many times and always wanted to try. We stopped around 5pm, staff were lovely and welcoming. It was busy but we found a table easily. My husband had fish and chips, I had the chicken fillet burger and my daughter had the cod Goujons and choose from the kids menu. The food was freshly cooked and generous portions and was delicious. Would highly recommend and then my daughter had the kids brownie which she said was lovely. I think for the 3 of us with drinks it was £60 so it wasn’t cheap but it was a lovely meal and we all enjoyed. There is a playground outside for children and they do a carvery on a Sunday Would definitely come back when in the area

It was our first and LAST time at The Windmill Inn. food was horrendous, overpriced and tasted like dirty oil. HUGE disappointment overall, can’t believe how many people recommended us here with good reviews and saying that the food was nice! in the end what they said was far from the truth, cheap and nasty, never again. the staff never checked up on us at all after we received our food, they weren’t very welcoming, and no refund was offered. don’t waste your time here, not worth it at all. gross.

Advertising says Sunday lunch till 5pm arrived 16.20 to be told we have finished and we don't do walk ins nothing on the sign says this we tried to eat here a while ago and there was no meat and the management said we had a refund well yes because we had no food won't be trying a third time, better places with better customer service nearby.

A great pub, conveniently located on the A39 for all the travelers heading by car to Minehead or Exmoor. I met the new managers, Michael and James, who have only been in charge for a week or two. They have a new chef, a new menu and a generally new and fresh feel to an iconic inn that has been around for many years. The new management team is full of good ideas about what to do with The Windmill, and I wish them the best of luck. Michael - I will be back soon.

Very dissatisfied with the luke warm vetables, so asked to reheat in microwave which made man in kitchen raise his eyebrows which is ride. Young man serving made up for rudeness by apologies. He was well trained not like bar staff girl who when I asked for table to be cleaned as it was very sticky gave me a stray bottle and cloth!! I'm the customer remember. Will not be returning any time soon. Shame cos we are local and 10yrs ago it was good.

We had steak and gammon. Both were cooked very well. Good portion size. The steak was one of the best ever and the wild mushroom sauce was lovely. The onion rings were great. Lovely service.

The best thing about our evening was the walk out the door, if you want to class yourself as a family friendly restaurant employee a chef that doesn’t have a foul mouth all evening swearing at the service counter/big hole in the wall that is 5ft away from the main restaurant seating area where a family of four actually got up and walked out because the young kids were upset due to the language coming from the chef. We sat for over an hour waiting for our starter only for our starter and main to turn up together. Also mr chef if you want to make more money off of your customers do your deals with the staff out of our hearing range chefs words to the waiters “no more sirloin steak (only steak they offer on menu) but we have rump to offer out but charge it as a sirloin” when we went to pay for our bill it said 2 x sirloin steaks @£21 each I obviously questioned this and said we were offered rump as a substitute and surely you can’t charge a rump at the Same price as sirloin and was told chefs words were to charge it the same. I obviously refused to pay for a sirloin when I didn’t have a sirloin. On an old menu on the till they found rump steak and that was £11 for a rump £10 difference in price per steak….

Great lunch stop, about 10 minutes from Minehead. Excellent atmousphere and great quality of food, great for kids too. Has a big play area put the back as well, just brilliant, highly recommended

Well I have been up the windmill many times before and have had no complaints untill tonight sat 23rd of march 2024 and I ordered the gammon they didn’t have any so ordered the pork belly with crispy pork crackling safe to say I was very disappointed they have a new chef and the pork crackling was very soggy and it was not pork belly it was the end of a pork loin which was inedible it was a funny colour and the meat itself was wet and soggy I couldn’t eat it I had very few fries on my plate and some vegetables which were not too bad. They did give me 20% off which didn’t even cover the pork. After I told the waitress I couldn’t eat it I heard the chef say TELL HER TO *UCK OFF well that done it for me I will not be going back ever again very rude and unprofessional. Tell your chef to go back to cooking school because you need a lesson in how to cook

It’s not often I’m tempted to go back to the same place twice for food in such quick succession but we came here Monday and couldn’t resist coming again Thursday! The food was outstanding and the friendly greeting and service we received from Nikki on both days was refreshing and part of the reason for our return. Thank you

I took my mum to the windmill on Monday for a belated Mother’s Day lunch, we were immediately greeted by Nikki with the most friendliest smile and welcome soon as we walked in, she was attentive and took the time to chat as well as doing her job brilliantly. The food was fantastic too, but the service was incredible and she looked after us the whole time and nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be back again.

What a lovely little find we came across on a Sunday lunchtime and have to say it was amazing food, couldn’t fault the carvery nice and hot and delicious. The staff were very busy due to it being a Sunday but our server Carly was so pleasant and friendly she did a great job and never stopped smiling 😊 keep up the good work Carly.

Went there some time ago and not impressed then, heard new people in so thought we'd give it another go. It seems nothing has changed. Brilliant food. We were staying at doniford bay and drove past this pub on our way to park. The pub was recommended to us and it did not disappoint. The food was incredible, my brother had the steak and as we went on a Sunday my mother and I had the carvery which was just amazing. If you are staying the area definitely book a table and go, it is well worth it.

Very disappointed, have been before and had a much better experience, This time there was no real ale, No very busy, it took over 30 minutes to get 2 children’s meals to the table one of which was wrong, 4 adults had carvery, none of us were impressed with the food, the returned childs meal came out when the rest of us were almost finished and one garlic bread starter came out when everyone had finished the main course! Then they forgot the children’s desert which had to be reordered. Not impressed with this visit, good job they weren’t busy! All in all would not recommend and will not be rushing back anytime soon

Visited The Windmill several times now and never been disappointed. The staff are always welcoming and friendly with the views from the dining area truly a delight. There's plenty of good choices at great value on the menu and the service is prompt. All in all a lovely dining experience - highly recommended. And finally if there's a Michelin Star for onion rings these guys deserve one... Exquisite - the best I've ever tasted!

We stopped here on our way back from a weekend away, we had passed it several times and thought it looked a lovely place. However, unfortunately the dining experience was not good. We arrived for a Sunday lunch quite late in the day so not that busy. We sat in the bar area with our dog. We were sat down and our drinks order was taken. One of us ordered a thatchers gold and received the haze, when this was pointed out the server just took it away and bought the correct drink. No apology or interaction at all. We all had carvery which was ok but the temperature wasn’t great. The food wasn’t that warm at all. My grandson had a lasagne which should have come with salad and garlic bread. The salad was missing. We could not find any staff member to report this too as they appeared to be having their lunch. While we were sat at the table we witnessed staff walking around eating food. Like they had just picked off the carvery when passing. Very off putting. We did order dessert, one of us ordered a trillionaire dessert and they failed to know exactly what it was. What came I don’t know as the girl who bought it called it something else and when we questioned it, she said yes that’s probably it! The whole experience was disappointing and we wouldn’t return. We felt the staff were more interested in socialising.

Went with my family the potatoes with the curry were uncooked and the veg moussaka totally inedible small portions too. Won't return.

Booked a night and got an excellent rate, including breakfast. For the price we paid, my expectations were not high but wow! The room was big with an enormous double bed. We had a balcony with a view across to south Wales. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom looked almost brand new. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and my gammon was massive. My husband said the veggie burger was one of the best he had ever tasted. Breakfast was great too - a huge menu. I had porridge which was a very large bowlful! Hubby enjoyed his veggie breakfast too. The staff were amazing and. Very friendly . The Inn is on a main road but the noise at night was minimal. Would definitely stay there again

Stayed two nights B&B whilst showing a friend some West Country highlights. The room - more like a suite - was palatial and well appointed - (as was the bathroom) - with a spacious balcony furnished with chairs and a table. The comfortable bed was vast and capable of accommodating Snow White and a considerable portion of her entourage besides ourselves. (Although I must emphasise no fairy tale characters were molested during our stay.) We elected not to take dinner but the breakfast was excellent. It was presided over by a gentleman of irrepressible bonhomie for whom nothing appeared to be too much trouble. I'm convinced if I had demanded the fabled goose's golden egg, lightly scrambled, he would have somehow procured it or persuaded me that he had a far superior alternative! All the staff with whom we interacted were helpful, friendly and efficient. Highly recommended.

Arriving at 4pm we decided to have a couple of pints in the Garden Before Dinner with Friends. Told we could order Food at 4.50pm took Menus which were very poor photo copies. At 4.30 asked if we could sit inside for dinner with our Dogs. Manager told us NO because they were fully booked. So we decided to eat outside. When we went to order at 4.50 a group of 8 walked in and had No booking and we're given a Table with their Dog. I asked the Manager am I wearing the wrong T Shirt because we were Treated unfairly. Hay Ho Manager came up with some cock and bull story. Food well poor quality poor service and not cheap, never have I seen cheese slices used on Mushrooms such a poor excuse of a starter. Your staff even commented that service was poor. First negative review I've left for a pub, being a landlord myself we do see things differently but Manager was rude and disrespectful

It is my first time staying in the area of Bridgwater and I was travelling towards Minehead for a day at the beach when I drove past the windmill inn. I instantly thought it look beautiful and decided that would be the place to go for dinner that evening. I booked a table which was very simple to do and when I arrived staff were very friendly. The food I ordered was brilliant and the atmosphere was lovely. Would definitely recommend and will visit again if I come to this area again.

A lovely carvery. Plenty of choice, fresh and hot. Couldn’t fault it. Very tasty! Staff were all polite, we were seated straight away and only had to wait a few minutes for drinks. A lovely light restaurant, clean and well presented. We will be back!

Live in West Quantoxhead. Some minutia in terms of other dissatisfaction but what was extremely disappointing was that I booked a table for Monday evening 0715. After 45 minutes there was no engagement with staff to order food despite ordering a drink and being taken to the table by staff and given a menu. If there was a shortage of waiting staff staff due illness, bad management or over booking there was no mention of it. I wart to the bar to pay for the drinks and express my disquiet. Whilst happy to pay for the drinks I was told that there would be no charge. A gesture but hardly solving a spoilt evening. Despite being very local to the Windmill I will not be looking to return anytime soon. There are albeit a little further away, plenty of other places to choose.
