Out of 5 orders we were told that the Mexican burger was unavailable, there was no rice, there were no beef ribs and there was no salads which meant that only 1 meal request could be fulfilled. I question the fact that you had have run out of rice as it not a perishable until cooked and at worst an employee could have gone across the road to the local supermarket and bought rice. We left without eating

The staff were absolutely fantastic. I was in with my husband and 3 children 4 year old 5 year old and 9 year old. The staff were absolutely fantastic with the kids. We will defo be back.

Very let down by our Christmas Day meal. The veg was overcooked and the roast potatoes where rock hard but the ribs where perfect. Most of the staff were super friendly,they also had no pigs in blankets.

The meals here have improved. We had Mac cheese and beef lasagne as part of their two meals for £11. Great value, and tasty food. Shared an Eton mess too.

The quality of food is great and not only are the staff polite and helpful the waiting time for food is on point. I’d definitely recommend the windmill to my family and friends whenever they ask if theres a relaxed place and atmosphere to get a good munch!

Allow customers to use more than one discount code at a time. I had £5 off and because we had meals from the 2 for £11 group the cost went up to the full value price of both meals and then the £5 came off. We also had a bottle of wine so the value for the discount was high enough.

Visited recently for the first time for lunch with my family and will definitely be back. Food was superb with lovely flavours and great quality ingredients. It has a nice atmosphere also. I ordered the chicken fajitas for my main and also chips as I wasn’t sure there’d be enough but was left stuffed and couldn’t eat it all. When I was there they had a pay £1 for a child which is a great deal especially as it went on till I’m sure 6pm. There is also live music and a quiz on certain nights. Can’t wait to come back.

Popped in for lunch, reasonable prices and menu, service very good with friendly staff. This is the first time we have been there. Would return again in the future.

A couple of little things let it down from a 5 to a 3 tonight, plenty of parking so we're off to a good start but the front entrance could do with an annual clean. Old style ordering where the serving person only delivers your food but you have to order it and drinks at the bar and pay up front. Electronic scanning wasn't working so paying by Groupon became slightly harder, made worse by the fact you can only redeem one voucher at a time. Couple of things on the menu weren't available but nowadays that's no big deal. The food value was up there with anywhere else. The drinks value not so good and if you want a spirit with lemonade instead of sofa water you not only lose the soda water but pay more for the lemonade in its place. The staff also weren't really familiar with the drinks orders or how to make them but we got there in the end, I think. The food and drinks quality were absolutely fine, my Rump was a bit tough but that's Rump for you. The atmosphere was only let down by the inside temperature, being really hot outside it was boiling inside. Outside sitting area needs some attention too. To finish, this place could easily be so much better for all who visit. I'd go back but not in a hurry.

The experience was great on all levels. Value for money. Quality of food and drinks. My only negative was that I was unable to login to my account whilst in the restaurant? Obviously that meant I couldn't collect rewards etc.

The food was well cooked, portions ample for a lunch. The variety of options was generally great, however the choices for the 2 vegan members of the party were limited. One party member stated their stake was a bit tough, but otherwise I would have no hesitation in coming back for a meal the next time I was in Tannochside ... especially for the fish and chips, which made me regret my decision on having tge Burger stack - which I thoroughly enjoyed..

We just love the Windmill, great selection of beers/ciders, food is always tremendous. The menu is changed monthly and seasonally so for those of us who get to visit regularly there are different choices which are always hard to choose from! The staff are friendly, it has a great outdoor terrace for drinks and food. Well done Team Windmill - keep it up!

Picturesque village bar with lovely outside area in the Sun. Inside there's a lounge area, restaurant and bar. The restaurant is most formal, but you can eat in the restaurant or lounge. The food quality is amazing with a good choice for meat eaters and vegetarians and accomodating to change, good range of drinks, staff very professional and regularly check back for any needs you have. Food was that good actually that we went back the following evening. The bar is very cosy with a screen that at the time we went in showed the football. The regulars were very welcoming and we felt we could join in the conversation when we wanted to. Was previously filmed as part of Auf Weidersen, Pet which is quite interesting to see the photos on the wall. I would certainly go back again.

This was our first meal out since about December 2019 and I wasn’t disappointed! I spoke to the waitress about my dairy allergy and she was more than happy to check details of dishes with the chef. The spiced sweet potato and red pepper soup was INCREDIBLE - I was initially put off by the fact that it can with coconut cream, but it was a delight! The chicken and spring green risotto was beautiful cooked and tasted great. Only one option for dessert (other than sorbets) and that was rum caramelised pineapple with coconut sorbet. For me the rum taste was a bit strong, but another good dish. If I visit again I’ll definitely keep my fingers crossed that the soup is still on the menu! Friendly, attentive staff and all reasonably priced.

We stayed close by for a weekend and had the pleasure of visiting the windmill on Saturday lunchtime, it was our first meal “out” since the end of lockdown and we weren’t disappointed! Both my wife and I opted for the steak, ( I assumed it was a limited menu) it was well seasoned and a cooked well. We sat in the sunshine and had a few beers and wine and would recommend anyone in the area to try, service was good and attentive

We had an early evening meal here and although it was a Tuesday the restaurant area was fairly busy. Lovely decor and friendly staff. Food was delicious (we had the beef and pie) and reasonably priced.

Visited with a friend today for Sunday Lunch. Have eaten in the area at lots of places but this was the best to date by far. We both had the 3 course lunch which could not be faulted. Tables thoroughly cleaned down between customers. Food, service and hospitality excellent.Would highly recommend.

I booked this place through their website on Saturday evening for Sunday lunch the following day. They replied quickly to say they were fully booked for the time we wanted but offered me a later slot. The food was excellent, fresh, tasty and beautifully presented. My son and I had the vegetarian main and my husband had roast beef. We all had puddings, sticky toffee was our favourite, but they were all superb. The staff are a young, friendly, enthusiastic team, they did a great job! We couldn’t fault anything. We will definitely be back but will try to book further in advance next time!

We visited the pub twice last week whilst staying in Redmile. We were made to feel really welcome and the food was fantastic. We were particularly impressed with and thankful to the chef who made an effort to engage with us and adapted starters As meals for our 15 month old son. Would definitely visit again.

Staying locally we wanted a good Saturday pub lunch and relaxing environment for our weekend away. Well the windmill provided this and more, great food, good social distancing, helpful staff, very relaxing and the added bonus of a little bit of TV history with the filming of Auf Wiedersehen Pet having taken place there many years before. There is a choice of two menus (lunch served until 2pm and Bar all day) both offer some lovely options with a good choice for non meat eaters and the lunch time 2 courses for £15 is amazing value.We will be staying in the area again and will definitely call back.to the windmill

This pub has been consistantly good for a while now. Since lock down the service, food has been excellent.l agree with lots of the comments on here, great value and great food. Cant think of another pub in the vale doing it this well now.

We came to this pub for lunch with friends after visiting Belvoir Castle and it was fantastic. Two courses for £15 was a bargain and the food was so good. A real find! Also good for my gluten intolerant husband, which is always a good find.

Went with the family for Sunday lunch,best Sunday dinner we have had for a long time decided to have the 3 courses each one was very good and very tasty no complaints from any of us and very reasonably priced.staff very attentive 10 out of 10 from us

We have visited twice during August for Sunday lunch. The food is excellent, good portions which even manage to fill my husband (not easily done !). Everything is great quality and cooked to perfection - beautiful roast beef. Great service and never have to ask for anything. Have booked again for September and bringing the in-laws. Determined to squeeze in a pudding !

We booked prior to going nice dining area good menu choices for gluten free which were all clearly marked they even brought me out some GF bread to start had a lovely roast beef dinner. I felt a little on edge whilst dining as the table where we sat staff were back and forth going into the kitchen ( I probably should have asked to be seated somewhere else my fault ) even though staff were doing regular hand washing / sanitising I would have felt more at ease if staff were to wear visors too.

So glad to be back at the lovely Windmill. The place is looking beautiful after a small refurb and the staff were as organised, welcoming and helpful as always. Lunch was excellent value and DELICIOUS. The pork dish (pressed shoulder, crackling crumb, fondant potato, black pudding, apple, wilted kale & cider jus - yum yum yum!) was phenomenal and they helpfully adjusted a dish for my son. A happy Saturday indeed :)

I went with my family a couple of weeks ago. I ordered a burger with Stilton on but it came with cheddar. I was so hungry and didn’t want to wait that I just ate it with no complaints. The burger itself was really good, I can imagine that it would have been even better with blue cheese. Everyone at the table enjoyed their food and there were no complaints. One annoyance was the burger coming on a slate and the chips in a pot. #WeWantPlates

We called last week and had a fantastic meal. I Had the cod with the king prawn with a curry sauce, it was amazing! (A MUST TRY)Husband loved his blue steak, cooked just how he likes it. We did a search for gluten free meals in this area as we were breaking our journey and needed lunch. What an excellent choice! We had the most delicious meal. The staff understood my need for gluten free food and that it was not a lifestyle choice but a medical necessity and were able to adapt the dish for me. Lovely atmosphere and very helpful staff

Visited today and enjoyed the 3 course set lunch in the restaurant. We really couldn't fault a single thing, the food was excellent and the service was faultless. The lunch menu is extremely good value especially for the quality of the produce used. My husband said the panacotta was the best he'd ever had !! We will definitely be back soon !

Really dissapojnted to have asked when I made this reservation....whether they offered a vegetarian roast, they said they did. To be told on arrival that I could have the roast without the meat but with Gravy that had been made with meat!! So we left. In this day and age....it wouldn’t take much to get some veggie gravy in!! Very dissapointing

Absolutely delicious dinner once again (frequent visitors having followed the team from the Nevile Arms), home made food to such a high standard is hard to come by at such excellent value and each visit brings new delights to the table. Our party has some particular requirements which were accommodated warmly, easily and tastily, including a mini portion for my child. We'll be back soon! :)

We really wanted a lovely place to eat in the Vale of Belvoir not too far from Belton House in Grantham. The Windmill Inn was perfect. There were 8 of us 4 adults and 4 children (under the age of 5). The service, food and drink were awesome. The ambience was top drawer.

Once again the Windmill delivered a great lunch.Was very busy but still the service was a s good as ever. The menu is constantly changing and is well worth going once a month.

The 2/3 course menu reads well and certainly delivers. Along with friendly, efficient service and well kept beer it's got everything you would want from a country pub.

I could go on & on reviewing The Windmill - but it would become really boring and repetitive! Mark, Steve and the team have found a winning formula - consistent excellent food, freshly cooked, fair prices and pleasant staff... Well done everyone - and please keep doing what you are doing!!

A table of 4 on a Saturday night and EVERYTHING was fabulous! Delightful food, wine, setting and service. Steaks were simply delicious, beautifully cooked. A real gem.would wholeheartedly recommend.

The fish'n'chips were great. Crispy batter and smooth white fish flesh. My companions enjoyed their steak and duck.

We attended this bar as a large group for a birthday celebration. The team were very well prepared and welcomed us warmly.

A very small menu. My husband and I both had the steak which was exceedingly thin and not a lot of taste, not a lot with it. The homemade mushroom soup was fine. Staff were very pleasant. Not in a hurry to go again but may well do.

A last minute decision to go out for Sunday dinner rather than cook and decided to try somewhere we hadn't eaten before but had been recommended. We were really happy with the menu selection, presentation and quality of the food. Staff were all friendly and helpful. We will definitely make this one of our regular choices for food or drink.

My friend and I popped into the Windmill on our way home yesterday early evening after walking our dogs. We were made very welcome and the staff were lovely. We ordered food and this was really good.

Some former work colleagues were planning a reunion lunch and as one of then group lived nearby, we took his advice and booked a table at the restaurant. We were impressed by the decor of the restaurant and the friendliness of the staff. The service was first class and the food was was excellent. We opted for the Set Menu (3 courses) which had a good number of options to choose from..Overall the reunion was a great success. We may reconvene there in the future and combine lunch with a tour of nearby Belvoir Castle. .

Just popped in on the off chance and we were served by friendly staff. The doubled checked about lunch availability and we were delighted to be tild not a problem. We had the fish and chips and it was fantastic homemade tartar sauce . We will be back

We had dinner here super cosy and the food was amazing we had the slow cooked lam with ratatouille and it was so very very good so yummy.

My partner and I had the steak and stilton ciabatta, it was quite possibly the best steak sandwich we have ever had. It melted in your mouth!

We were recommended this little pub when we booked out a little cottage in the village. I am so glad we took the visit. Such beautiful food with fantastic service. You know the food will be nice when there is a seasonal menu. All the staff were friendly and welcoming! My boyfriend had a burger and I had gnocchi. Keep up the great service!
