We went for a Xmas Party and had a 3 course carvery meal and entertainment with the Pashy Pops. Food was 5 star delicious. Staff first rate , very friendly. Evening was spoilt by the Pashy Pops who shouted out the music all night. They can sing but need to learn how to use their musical equipment. We had to move away as couldn't bear the blast of noise that came from the stage. Simply awful.

Both the service and the food at The Windmill is second-to-none. I’ve always had a great carvery here whether it be Sunday lunchtimes or for our business Christmas Meal with over 40 of us attending. Booking and selecting food is made really easy and the hospitality received by our guests and the quality of the food is always commented upon. I’d always recommend The Windmill for a great roast dinner in Highbridge.

Excellent roast lunches served on Wednesday and Sunday lunchtime. Gets very busy so booking required. Has theme nights currently noticed a board roadside for a murder mystery night. Parking in large car park at front of caravan site. Disability access throughout with lift to bar area / restaurant which is on first floor. Disabled toilet available. Pleasant staff and friendly service. We are not local and visited during our stay at the local Travelodge - we were made to feel welcome by bar staff. Clean well presented bar and restaurant - clean toilets

This is an excellent restaurant and bar. After a long Sunday walk our group of 4 arrived for lunch. The carvery was very good and the staff behind the counter, both here and at the bar, we're very friendly and professional. The food was very reasonably priced, delicious and perfectly cooked. The seating and tables were, respectively, comfortable and big enough to take our drinks and dinner plates. Very much recommend a visit.

Each time we come to Somerset we come here for the sunday carvery- It had previously been recommed to us when we rented a private caravan at Burnham on Sea. The Restaurant is lovely and clean, and very welcoming. The food and service is always excellent & the staff are lovely and friendly, there is a veranda where you can sit outside & a separate part where you can play pool and darts after you have had your meal. I would highly reccomed this place to anyone visiting the area

Upon arrival, we parked in the guest parking area, we were slightly early as The Windmill didn't open until 5pm. We made our way in, up the stairs (as the bar/restaurant was on the first floor) and was greeted with a smile from the bar lad, it was very quiet and we were the first to arrive, we got chatting with the lad behind the bar who kindly explained that the bar and restaurant was more geared towards the over 50's residents (we were a young family with a 2-year-old) and sadly they had no high chairs nor children's menu (so bear this in mind if you have young children visiting). We ordered food which was nice and simple, I had the Mixed Grill and the Mrs had The Windmill Chicken, we ordered a plate of chips for our little one, overall food was pretty good - Note to the chef: The chips on both meals were too big and fluffy (empty inside) and a little bit too greasy, swap these up for another brand and your on to a winner! Other than that we had a lovley well priced meal - thank you :)

We had visited here a couple of times for a drink-and were impressed by excellent ,friendly staff and good surroundings ,so booked for a meal. No problem with the meal -excellent food and good value. Once again staff were just very ,very good-with service & help but above all a smile! So go for a meal-but not on Bingo night(Fridays)!-it was no problem to us ,or fellow diners ,until some prat -who was bingo addicted-came up to our tables to say could we not talk 'loudly'(every diner was having normal level of conversation) as he couldn't concentrate-yet he was sat more than 60' away ,behind a partition and Bingo caller was amplified! I politely told him to get a life and just go away- but an adjacent table wanted to sort him 'out'-PITY HE DIDNT. Therefore -go and enjoy a good meal -but not on a Friday!

We were with a coach party all having a carvery meal, organised during midweek. I feared some would have a very long wait, but tables were called up in rotation and 40 odd people were all served in just over 30 minutes, which was good.Staff helped some less able guests by carrying their plates to their table.Pork, turkey, beef and lamb were on offer, accompanied by a wide variety of (plentiful) sauces.plus wonderful home-made gravy. (NOT Bisto!) Yorkshies and stuffing, too. And crackling for those who yearn for it.The meats were all perfectly cooked and were moist, tender and very tasty.Vegetables were carrots, peas, cauliflower cheese, new potatoes and absolutely brilliant roast potatoes, (The parsnips though were a let down and seemed deep fried ~ didn't fit in.)The quality and service was brilliant.

So we have eaten at the Windmill on many occasions in the past and Also have held a family party there too. We booked a table for 8 for my sons birthday. First visit back since kitchen changed. The menu was down scaled from how it used to be but we eventually chose. After waiting 40 mins for the main meal 7 arrived the 8th meal another 10 mins. The meals were awful cold chicken, steak missing from mixed grill. Black re cooked carrots just awful across all meals only 1 the burger was satisfactory to eat. The rest were sent back we paid for the drinks and the meal that was satisfactory and left. We are so disappointed in the standards here we will not be coming back.

We have been to the windmill many times and had a lovely Sunday lunch so we booked a table to take the mother in law. Very disappointed the cauliflower smelt and looked foul and my glass had lipstick on. To pay at the bar was very frustrating due being asked if we had wine and pudding. I will start by saying that it wasn't my choice to go here. It was my partner's dad's 70th birthday meal. I had never been before, probably because it is located in a caravan park which is not somewhere I would usually frequent. Walking in I was struck by how the decor reminded me of a Butlins clubhouse in the 70s/80s. I haven't been to Butlins since then so I don't know if they still look like this but it was quite bizarre. The Kenny Rogers/Blondie soundtrack accompanied by drunken singing (at 7pm) was also reminiscent of childhood Butlins memories.

Several friends went for the Saturday night. Of the several meals served the gammon dish was a small piece of gammon, of which a large proportion was fat. Being almost rare it was unpalatable. Sent back for further cooking but returned not much better and with original eggs, now cold. Of the other meals the rump steaks were minute-steak thin and tough to boot.

Red pepper stuffed with rice is fine but to put rice with this is not very good so had vegetables instead, it is a pity that the roast potatoes w ere well and truly cremated so hard you could hardly stab them with a knife and an overwhelming taste of burnt.
