Booked a table for 4, 2 members were late, but the staff were great and not upset that we waited to order. The food was fabulous, freshly cooked, superb burgers and perfectly cooked omelettes. The staff were all polite, friendly and attentive. Best lunch I have eaten for a long time. Thank you to everyone works here.

Great cafe with outside area as well. Tasty and good value lunches and excellent service.

Came here for Morhers day with my parents and partner and the roast was delicious. Staff were so lovely and friendly couldn’t do enough for us.

Popped in with friend had a lovely coffee and home made cake . Wonderful atmosphere and very inviting. A wonderful selection of mouth watering home made cakes

I've visited Nutmeg a couple of times now on my visits into Bridgwater; the first time with my partner, and this morning on my own for a quick pit stop and to read my book. I ordered a toasted teacake with butter and jam and a hazelnut latte. Both were superb. I have never had a toasted teacake so big anywhere else! And it was served very nicely. The coffee was also excellent. I will definitely be back again!

Visited during festival of light day for tea and cake only. Thankfully we got there when we did. It got VERY busy.

Nice little cafe/coffee shop, good service, nice food only downside the day we were there nothing to do with nutmeg , those little ninja wasp after my jam, we were sat outside

Popped in for lunch, service was good and quick. Had ham, egg and chips and found the eggs to be a bit greasy however the meal was still nice.

Had breakfast at this place, ordered a large breakfast £9.95, eggs fried all good, Bacon decent, 2 large hash browns, beans good. The sausages let the meal down as they are the really cheap chip shop variety. 1/2 a tomatoe, mushrooms and a slice of toast, bread could be of a better quality. Coffee decent. Service fast and friendly. Would go again, but it wouldn't be my first choice.

Relaxing place just off the main shopping area.

Came for a colleague's leaving do and they were very accommodating of a large group. The chicken salad was delicious. Drinks took longer than the food to arrive. Overall, great and will be back!

We arrived at 1:50 and we were told the kitchen closed at 2 but everything closes at 2:30. We proceeded to order our food, which was alright. The staff were hovering around our table. With one member of staff even taking my wife’s pint of coke off the table when it was half full. This all made us feel very rushed, unwanted and unable to enjoy our meal. Then staff openly complaining about customers. Very unprofessional shame because the food was fairly good.

Poor uninterested service. Waited over an hour for 2x panini only to be told they had lost the ticket. No apologies until we asked for one and when it came it couldn’t have been more insincere if they had tried. There are better places to spend your money in Bridgwater!

Worst customer service I have experienced in a long while. Popped in for a catch up with an associate at 2pm, checked closing time with staff member and was told 3pm so drinks were ordered, money taken. By 2.30pm we were deep in conversation, I was aware of a lot of clattering and banging around us but tried to ignore it. We were then told by a female staff member and none too pleasantly, that the place was closed. I tried to convey that I had been told it was 3pm close, at which point an older male staff member started snarling at me for not having asked permission to meet someone on his premises!? I got the impression that these 2 staff members might have been the owners and if they are, it seems they have failed to understand the basics of running such an establishment. Of course this would also explain the vast number of vacant tables. It’s not a mistake I will be repeating and I would advise anyone considering it, to give this place the widest of berths.

Went for lunch. My young niece has a dairy intolerance and staff were very helpful and friendly. Food was lovely.

Visited for the first time. Lovely service, people were cheerful, polite and very professional. Food absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked. Definitely will be going back.

Fortunatly booked a table for two at mid day as otherwise it would have been full we were warned there would be a wait for hot food as a very large party had arrived. Hot chocolate arrived nice and was not too sweet which can be a problem in some places. Shortly followed by our baked potato mine with ample tuna and mayo. Reasonable price and lovely quick anf d friendly service

We booked in for an early breakfast on a Friday morning at Nutmeg as we were off on a lads weekend. Nutmeg catered for us fantastically, provided great service and a great breakfast.

Popped in for lunch and it was absolutely superb. All freshly cooked and credit must go to the chef. The staff were attentive and very friendly. We couldn’t have found a better place. I only wish we were able to go on an evening to try their evening menu (it’s certainly on our list). We’ll done team ‘Nutmeg’, without doubt a ‘gem’ of a find, thank you.

On first appearances this cafe looks lovely, but we left feeling very, very disappointed and upset. The drinks took ages to come, and came out with the food. The cafe was not busy at all. A sandwich was so full of mayonnaise it fell apart when trying to eat it and was tasteless. The chips were vile. One side of chips and one cheesy chips were inedible as they tasted of fat that needed changing and smelt awful too. I complained at the counter and the lady did not know how to deal with my complaint so passed me to the chef who was stood behind her. He claimed he had just changed the fat. I walked back to the table, got the chips, and asked him to smell them. He replied he could only smell vinegar. Rather than get into an argument, I returned to our table. The lady I had originally spoken to came over and asked me if I wanted a refund for the chips, stating no one else had complained, (not a particularly pleasant reply!). She came back and gave me three pound coins. When I said it was a cheesy chips as well she said that half had been eaten and walked off! No customer service skills at all! I could not be bothered to disagree that the chips on the top had been sprinkled with a tiny bit of cheese - and I mean tiny - which had slightly disguised the vile taste of rancid fat. I was shocked at the attitude, and all the staff then stood in the doorway to the kitchen clearly talking about me. I will never step foot in this place again. The lady who took my order was very friendly, but the rest clearly need training in customer service. You don’t ask the chef to deal with your customers! I was polite at all times, but I really should have complained about everything! A terrible way to treat your customers, and awful food all add up to an upsetting experience and feeling I may as well have thrown my money down the drain! Ruined treating my mum to lunch. Surprising how a simple sandwich and side of chips can be so wrong, added to staff who cannot deal with a polite complaint! Very frustrating!

We had done a lot of walking around the town and were in need of a sit down and a break when we noticed this café. When we visited it was very popular with locals, a bit crowded and a bit noisy. The coffee was reasonably priced at £4.80 for two flat whites and was good quality.

Stopped off here for lunch and to meet up with friends. Our whole experience of the Nutmeg was impeccable, food and service was second to none. How lucky the people of Bridgewater are having this little gem in the middle of their town.

We have just had the best coffee, teacake and service. Beautifully presented and tasted divine. Will be coming again very soon.

Omg where do I start staff was very friendly and as I was stood there waiting to be served they appoligized cause they needed to do something quick and it was a bit busy not one member of staff was sat down doing nothing all very happy and smiley not only upon arrive but for the whole time I was there food was amazing and just the right portion prices is very reasonable and would deffo come back here again I have a baby and he was screaming where he not long had jabs but no-one was I liked up and down very calming place to eat

What a welcoming place to drink and eat. I went with friends after the town Christmas light switch on. I kind off stumbled upon it (literally) even later in the evening they had a fantastic range of cakes (so good I took some home for breakfast) definately worth another visit.

Lovely food! Nice warm cosy environment, the staff are so kind and welcoming. Best place to pop in even if it is just for a quick coffee. Highly recommend the nutmeg! You will feel like your at a second home!

Met some friends for lunch, got a Latte that was not very hot to start with! Then ordered some lunch, decided on Mac and cheese with Garlic bread, had it many times with the previous owners. But this was not good, it’s was all so dry, no sauce to dip the really dry tough garlic bread in😔 plus it was different heat throughout. It was like they’d put some cheese in amongst the pasta and that was it. I tried telling the girl who brought me a glass of water but she just walked away😡 Will certainly not be returning £7.50 was not worth a £1

Just popped in for mid day break and a light bite. What a delight! The largest teacakes on the planet and really tasty tea and coffee; all served with a smile by charming people. I would highly recommend and hope to return again to try the other scrummy-looking things on the extensive menu. Exceptional value for money. Thankyou.

Stumbled upon this little gem of a restaurant whilst visiting Bridgewater, the freshly cooked food was of such good quality coupled with very friendly staff makes this place a must visit.

Made food early for us stopping to avoid the traffic. Staff couldn’t be more helpful. Food was exactly what we were after.

I was so happy at first with the breakfast. But then after a few days . I went in and ordered the same as ive ordered before and they refused the fried bread. Because apparently they dont do it. I explained that they did it before and she said. I know but im not doing it. So 20 pound a day. They have lost. Im not happy at all.

Excellent breakfast, great value for money and exceptional customer service. 3 x large breakfast order. 1x fussy eater, swapped eggs and mushrooms for extra sausage and bacon, no issue. Breakfast arrived promptly. Staff were friendly and facilities clean.

First time I've visited The New Nutmeg after being taken over by the current owners - absolutely fantastic, lovely setting and very friendly atmosphere, all the staff and owners very accommodating and couldn't do enough for us. The cooked breakfasts were perfect and good value....

What a great venue. Visited Saturday evening for cocktails . Clean , bright, fresh and modern. Fantastic cocktails and amazing food (we had the cheese and meat platters - but will be going back for Pizzas) the biggest and best cheese platter I’ve ever seen....

Fantastic little spot in Bridgwater. During my visit the staff were attentive, friendly & helpful. The food was of great quality whilst still affordable. Great range of drinks on the bar. I worked out of the site and grabbed some lunch several times and it'll be the only place I visit when I travel to Bridgwater.

Visited on 22nd August 2020 and found the Nut Meg under new management and newly refurbished. Had a lovely meal and the place had a choice of local drinks including a great selection of Gins.

Fantastic mid-size café that serves a great selection of snack & lunch bits, as well as hot & cold drinks, including some alcohol. Service was very friendly and attentive, really made us feel welcome!

Sorry but this place has gone downhill since change of ownership. Used to be the best breakfast place in town but now I’d consider it as the worst. Poached egg come out over done and solid, cheap sausages used and deep fried instead of the choice of 2 types of sausages before, bacon is cheap and not cooked for long. Gives a feel of grub wagon which isn’t great as this was the place to go for breakfast before

I came here the morning for the buffet breakfast which is fantastic. The only thing is the sausages are horrible. They get the pork and beef sausages from Iceland. I know because I have had these sausages before and I seen one of the waiting...

Called in for breakfast and we were surprised how much of a choice there was. You have to go to the counter to place your order but the food was brought out to us. Food was served nice and hot. Also coffee was served hot....

Booked last minute and booking no problem, went to sample the steak night, my wife and I were not disappointed, one of the nicest steaks we have ever had, and stilton sauce was lovely, good portions and a nice Pink G and T was had - hats off to Joe and team for making it a nice evening meal. would recommend to anyone, nothing asked for was ever an issue.

We stopped coming in back along because my daughter informed us that Stacy Howel was working in There occasionally. My daughter received some troublesome behaviour from her in the past which caused her upset and she also was was scared of her. So she forbidden us from going in there as none of us wanted anything to do with her. But since finding out it’s under new management we thought we would give it ago and we are so glad we did. The poor girl is a drug addict and an alcoholic and is a right nuisance to society always causing trouble and causing pain and stress to people. Shes still seen coming in and out of a well known drug dealers house opposite our charlottes like no ones business, still looks a state. We have also passed her traipsing down Taunton road with a bottle of cider and coming out of turning point quite regularly. Such a shame to her poor parents. We will be much obliged to come back next Saturday the 4 of us and we also wish u luck with your new business and all the success.

We only ever had one bad experience and that was when we went in went in for Paul’s birthday at lunch time. But it was busy, we stopped coming in back along because we heard Stacy Howell was working in there and she’s a nuisance and always causing trouble. My daughter loathes her, she caused her troublesome and upset in the past and my daughter was scared of her. This put us off going in there. Stacey is now hooked on drugs and alcohol I assume she’s known to Bridgwater for it. We always see her in and out of well known drug dealers opposite our Charlottes like no ones business looking a sorry mess lately. Seen her of lots of times carrying a bottle of cider and down Taunton road as me and my husband have drove past in the middle of the day.She’s been seen in and out of turning point a few times too I’ve been told.
