Four stars for the friendly welcome by the lady bartender and three stars for the generous portions of no frills down to earth very hearty home cooked food in clean surroundings. The waitress was elusive even though there are only 3 dining tables but we accept that it is a small traditional country pub serving food, not a restaurant. Considering we booked at short notice, we received a very decent meal.

If you are looking for a Sunday lunch as good as you'd cook yourself, look no further than the Windmill, Burham. Chris & Terri will give you a lovely welcome. You walk into a 'dining room' than is reminiscent of your Mum's or grandmothers. Its beautifully presented. Big leather Chesterfield, dining tables & chairs, lovely light decoration. Pictures on the walls, clean and a lovely warm friendly feeling. And the food is as good as I would serve at home. and its all fresh beef & lamb. Assume the other roasts are the same. They were from a proper joint, carved, not sliced, frozen and then reheated. Fresh vegetables and so much choice. Guaranteed not to leave here hungry and the value for money is amazing. 100% recommend The Windmill.

6 of us stopped here for lunch part way through a walk. We were made so welcome in this comfortable, clean, traditional pub. Orders for drinks were promptly received and food orders taken. The lunch menu was varied and incredible value. When the food arrived conversation stopped for quite a while as we tucked in to our pub meals with relish and did our best to finish the generously portioned food. Would definitely visit again after a welcome, service, food and drink that all made for an excellent lunch stop.

We took a walk down to Burham from Bluebell Hill Village and popped into this nondescript little pub for a well earned drink. We could not have guessed that a portion of potatoes and gravy could be Kent's best kept snack secret. When I say delicious, I mean awesome. Proper gravy with meaty bits afloat and roast tatties made with what must be dripping. We went full on Neanderthal and drank the remaining gravy from the pot. Then we spied a couple's full Sunday roast and booked a table immediately. Courteous service. Friendly punters. Can't wait to get back here.

Booked this on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. The sunday lunch was excellent value with plenty of meat, potatoes and vegetables. The beef was thick and juicy and the lamb was full of flavour and not too fatty. The desserts were not as good; a quick blast to heat them up and an overuse of a blowtorch slightly burnt the toffee on top of my pudding. All tasty thought with lots of cream and custard. The pub is clearly a "local" but with welcoming and helpful bar staff and a landlord that was very happy to chat to outsiders! Will definitely go again.

We visited the Windmill recently for Sunday lunch with friends, including a couple of what could be called 'fussy' eaters. The roast dinner was exceptionally good, crispy roast potatoes, four vegetables, including cauliflower cheese and lashings of delicious gravy; an essential for a good roast. Special requests were catered for with a smile and everyone was very happy with their lunch. Desserts were beautifully presented and tasted as good as they looked. The meal was excellent value for money and we enjoyed it so much that we went back again the following Sunday!

I phoned up enquiring if they did a vegan option, the very friendly lady said that they could indeed accommodate that no problem at all, so after enjoying a nice walk in the countryside nearby we headed in for lunch..We were soon greeted and shown to our table, the chef checked what she had in mind and it was vegan lasagna which make a nice change from the usual offerings. This was then cooked from fresh and soon arrived arrived and was very tasty indeed to say the least..We had a great meal and look forward to the next visit

Pub was nice inside.. Entrance a bit small came through a porch entrance with a 45 degree turn.. Was told they had ramps.. But didn't see any.. Don't see how a powered chair or wheelchair could turn in the small space... Was a gate at the side of pub.. Entered to a flat space.. With a garden seat.. But pub garden had a number of steps. And the other part had another number of steps to that.. Would have needed a long ramp for both.. The price for 2 pints and a coffee was below £10..which was credible as the beer was very good.. Coffee was enough for 2 small cups..

We visited as a last minute booking for a Sunday roast - £7.95 with a choice of meats. I was dubious at this price being quite fussy with my meat. I had the lamb and my husband the beef and both were lovely. No fat, no chewy meat. All veg was crisp not soggy. The cheese board was fantastic. At least 7 cheeses and a good portion of each, my husband was unable to finish it. Basket of biscuits all for £4.95. The presentation and garnish was also very good. Great value for money. Would definitely recommend and would revisit. The atmosphere of the pub was very friendly.

This is local to me and I do like to support businesses near me. Having read the local Magazine which was up to date we duly went along but no it was wrong they were not serving food at lunchtime until the following day. We decided to go later that week. The décor is very pleasant and the barman as in most pubs now was waiter to. Even though there was nobody else there already something was off the menu. We only wanted a snack so we chose a toasted sandwich but the grill wasn't working so it was a plain one instead except they couldn't even get that right. We ordered a brown bread cheese and tomato which it said came with salad and chips but it was white bread no tomato but it was in the salad but no chips or crisps really dry. We won't be going again. Sorry.

Great local pub and staff are always friendly. They do some classic pub food served very casually - no gastro prices here! Sports are normally on but there's places to sit away from that if you like. Pool table at the back too. There's also some great local history which is worth looking into, especially if you're interested in world war 2. A spitfire crashed in the rear garden and some relics from that are on display, and a plaque dedicated to the pilot is above the door. There is a detailed display about a German Heinkel He111 bomber (serial number 3233, V4 + KL of 3/KG1) which crashed nearby stocks green and was displayed in the front car park to raise money for the spitfire fund during the Battle of Britain
