Decent little pub for a pint. Had a pool table and decent selection of beers. Barmaid was friendly and the pub had a nice cosy feeling about it. Worth stopping for a pint of Guinness if you're nearby, although £7+ for a pint was bloody expensive, but I'm guessing that just the usual daylight robbery tax that applies everywhere in central London??

Stopped here for a beer and some lunch and had the warmest welcome from the staff and owners. A great little neighborhood spot, would definitely recommend and absolutely come back again.

5 stars all around! Great cozy little pub! Woodfired pizza was delicious. Would recommend checking it out. Also has a pool table and dart board for those looking to play a game or two.

Friendly people. Tavern has a nice atmosphere (Halloween for now). Good quality pizza. Enjoyed a nice stay. This is a very good tavern to escape all this tourist stuff from the overly crowded centre.

Beer was great! Nachos are soggy and have way too much sauce, pizzas are okay.

First time in London. What a great little pub with great food and excellent service. We had fish fingers and the fish and chips. Sooooo good We will be back for the stone baked pizza ! Nick was the best. He gave us great advice on some hidden gems !!

Saw a sign for pizza and a pint followed the arrows and came across this traditional London pub with a great selection of beers, friendly welcoming staff and I can highly recommend the pepperoni pizza as well as this pub Don’t miss it if your in the area

A great pub in the heart of London!

My girlfriend and I had dinner here as tourists, the atmosphere was great, people were were kind, beers and food were good. This pub is almost only frequented by locals, perfect if you want to avoid tourist traps; it was a real British pub experience

First time in this traditional and slightly quirky pub with fascinating decor. We received a friendly welcome and the service was great. The food was tasty with good portions. Would recommend.

Great experience. We tried 4 different beers and they were all fresh. The English breakfast pizza was tasty. Quaint, cozy atmosphere and relaxed, friendly service. Couldn't ask for more. Definitely recommend.

I could not eat there and drink, because it was closed at 22.20, while it had to be open, seeing on Google Maps (until 23.00). In 2024 I dont'accept anymore that a resturant should be open but it is closed, and I do a review in any case (with the minimum in any type of evaluation if the resturant doesn't respect the schedule declared) Update: The pub was completely close at 22.20. It's not true that I could drink at that time like declared in the response.

Was away for work and staying in a hotel so decided to venture out to grab a bite to eat and came across this little treasure such a lovely wee pub with a lovely cosy atmosphere the place is lovely and staff are fantastic very welcoming ☺️

The food was really good, billiards and darts were available for free. The atmosphere is cool thanks to the music played. The only weak point is the slowness of the service, I recommend 👍

Great neighbourhood pub. The staff are excellent and offer amazing service, even when there’s only one on their own dealing with food orders (not to mention cooking said food orders) and serving drinks at the bar.

We had pizza. Crust was nearly unchewable and really burnt. Sauce and toppings seemed good. If they can figure out the crust, and not make it black and bitter, it would be pretty good!

Revisited this great little pub nothing had changed a great selection of beers and friendly staff The pizzas were as good as we remembered I highly recommend this pub if you’re in the area

We made reservations as it appeared to look like an authentic British Pub. When we got there the atmosphere was dank and dark. We stood in front of the bar for several minutes and no one even acknowledged our presence or said hello, so we elected to go elsewhere. It made be a good place regarding food and drink, but unless the staff are taught to even look at folks entering their establishment and simply say, “I’ll be right with you”, or “you can seat yourself”, they’re going to lose patrons…

Learned to throw darts here in the 1980s courtesy of some members of the IMO staff darts club! Started a “tournament” for the IMO club versus teams made up of national and NGO delegations. We paid for the beer and snacks as a way of thanking the hard working staff. It brought people from all over the world together and produced friendships and facilitated our efforts to improve maritime safety! Happy to see that the Windmill is still there!

The Windmill Pub offers a chill environment to catch up with friends over drinks! I enjoyed their sausage roll and ginger beer. Go and be merry!

Awful service, asked if I could use a charger, the lady with darker hair was nice enough to tell me before the blonde woman interrupted and told me I had to buy something- I didn’t have an issue buying as I was going to anyway. She turned her nose up at me for ordering a drink, and paying with cash. Overall, a very bad first experience, I’ve worked in hospitality for years, and have worked doing bar work and I know that is definitely not the way you greet a customer. I would strongly recommend against this establishment.

Great pub, good selection of beers and non alcoholic beers too plus darts and snooker. What else do you need?

Idk I’m not blown away. Walk past this place every day, finally drawn in by the ‘PIZZA + PINT = £16’, although that seems like how much a pizza (of such proportion) and pint would cost in any case

Great local old school pub with a dart board and pool table. The price in this place has rocketed tho and for £7 a pint of Asahi it’s very expensive for a back street boozer even in London. Other local pubs to try would be the Jolly Gardeners, who do a great selection of beer/larger on tap with a nice open atmosphere or the Hercules pub opposite Lambeth North tube station who do a great selection of beers (they have a beer menu) but this too is quite expensive but is a lovely pub

I turned up to a group were with my friend who were sitting at a table with a broken leg. We then spent 1 and a half hours all trying to support the wonky leg whilst having a good time socialising. When most people left it was just me and a friend and another couple at the end of the table. As the table was a solid oak style table when people were not supporting it the leg gave way. I was then personally accused by the woman in charge of breaking the table. I made it clear it had been broken all night but she was extremely accusatory. I left her for a bit and went back to explain I was near the table but hadn't broken it and realistically I would have to be quite powerful to break it alone. She threatened to call the police, accusing me of being aggressive ( Which I wasn't) I am very sad that the woman in charge wouldn't even listen to what was being explained to her. Maybe I should have told her when I arrived that the leg of the table was broken but there were lots of people sat around before me who were supporting it. The main issue though is her accusatory response, I'm would.never have broken that table and she should listen to the experiences of others. I won't be returning.

Popped in only for a quick drink.. stunning oldie worldie pub.. loved the decor. Had a cozy feeling. Even the loos were impressive from the green traditional tiling and old fashioned cistern with the pulley chain..very clean.

Absolutely love this place! Delicious garlic bread and pretty good nachos. The atmosphere is relaxing and inviting. Definitely a better stop compared to across the river where everything is packed. The bartender was great too! We didn't catch his name unfortunately.

The Windmill Pub , after visiting the TATE Museum, Cross The river walk like 3 blocks it iS worthy, i'm please to share they place si a local PUB whith Pizza , Billard and games like Red Bull Eye, it got crowed due Thursday night , The bar is skillfully manager Mike ando Nick, great fish and chips with tarta sauce and the correct complents , pizza is The speciallity but maybe next time , spectacular music and also güt restroms... Must visit Bar, Abür

Was here in the afternoon with wife and kids. Not over crowded and the only place where we felt comfortable with the kids. Good service and good atmosphere 👍

Hi Guys had a great time at the Windmill pub Saturday night A full 100 💯 % the staff effort Were friendly couldn't ask for a better bunch of lads and ladies who work there. The Manager a Mr Martin Carroll a real gent and a great host. It was my first time there. I would most definitely recommend a visit . It's hard to find good old English traditional pubs or inns . This place ticks all the boxes. So upwestminter London the Wind mill well done and to the manger and his team good on yee governor.

This Pub rips off tourists. Visiting from Australia and got charged £21.50 for a Gin & Tonic and as Guinness. The young girl serving was rude when I questioned the cost riff-off Pub taking advantage of Tourists avoid at all costs...

Nipped in here two days in a row whilst on a business trip at the local China Works building. Lovely decor. Great staff and all in all a great place for a few pints. If I am ever in the area Again I will definitely frequent this fine establishment again 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Warm welcoming old fashioned spit and sawdust pub with friendly staff, pies, pizza and pool or darts if you prefer. Cosy leather sofas or bar stools what ever you fancy. Well stocked bar with a good mixture of craft and mainstream beers. Hygienically clean toilet facilities all through the night.

Hidden gem with a great range of drinks and food. Well recommended as somewhere with a traditional feel and quirky individuality.

This is a real pub with a great selection of beers, spirits and soft drinks plus tea and coffee. The food is freshly cooked and their special pint and a pizza offer is brilliant value for London. The staff are welcoming, comfy armchairs and sofas, dart board and pool table are available too. This is a hidden gem which is worth visiting.

One goal while spending a couple days in London prior to a cruise out of Southampton was to visit a pub. Finding out how to get to it was a challenge and google maps did not help. I had to get help, so here's a hint to help you avoid my issues. Off of Albert Embankment turn onto Black Prince Road, the first street on your left is Lambert High Street, just a tiny, alley size street. The Windmill Pub is on your left in a block or so. It has great atmosphere that is apparent on entry. A dart board, pool table, great seating, a bar, etc... Several groups were having a good time visiting and others eating. We learned you order at the bar. Apparently over recent years the menu has gone to mainly pizza. Other than that, they have fish and chips, and a cold pork pie. We had the fish which was better than one I had the previous night in a hotel restaurant. Service was nice but limited. A friendly place that has proved to be everywhere this Virginia has gone in London! So glad to have this experience!

Needed a place close to the hotel after traveling and this fit. Pizza and onion rings. The onion rings were excellent. The pizza was good bowling alley pizza. Don't expect authentic Italian but after being awake for 20 hours, it was great. Beer selection was...

I came there with my 9 month old as needed to feed him and was the only place open. Great staff especially the lady in the kitchen who made us feel so welcome. Also try the pizza/pint deal for £12 cant go wrong!

Visited this pub as we'd been to the war museum Lovely pub but the food was not great Homemade pizza okay but the fish and chips were awful. Frozen fish and overcooked and not even proper chips at nearly £10. Was going to ask for a refund. Myself and grandson left most of our meal. £5 for a portion of cheesy chips,could of gone to macdonald's 😡😡

Lunch with a friend today. Impromptu as on the route of a walk we were doing. Sat outside and had Pizza and a pint. (Coke!). My friend had a lovely cheesy and tuna jacket potato. No skimping on the cheese. Yummy. Proper thin based pizza....

I'm not usually one for superlatives, but genuinely, this is the best pie I have ever eaten. And I've eaten a fair few! Proper pastry (top and bottom), pastry laden with suet that means it is crisp and yet still melts in the mouth. Delicious,...

On a weekend away from Cambridge, This was the last pub we visited last March, just a few days before the dreaded lockdown. It is a lovely cozy pub with great food. The scotch egg was amazing. A great place and definitely returning when we back to normal.
