I went there yesterday to watch football matches. The atmosphere was good. The bite was delicious.

I went here to meet a friend who was sitting with a group of colleagues. There was a bit of an issue with the table being uneven so there was obviously an issue with it. Later in the evening I put my drink onto the table and the whole thing gave way. The woman who must run the pub was extremely rude saying we broke the table. We were doing nothing to break the table and as it was a large wooden table it would have taken some power to split the leg. The woman wouldn't accept it, would not replace our drinks and when I tried to explain the table was previously broken she said she was going to call the police?! Absolutely atrocious experience. In response to the owners response below - Your responses are lies. I wasn't drunk and I wasn't rude. I was merely trying to explain the table was obviously previously broken. I'm glad you have CCTV to show you this. I am amazed the response is still that we broke the table. How exactly did we break it when we were just sitting next to it? Also I do not work in a school but do wish I did as would be interested to know how you would take it up with them when your staff were completely in the wrong.

Nice atmosphere and we had a table made up for us within a couple of minutes of arriving. Food across the board was to of a high standard. Service was attentive and prompt.

Just popped in to see GAA game Kerry v Dublin. Got there half way through first half and went to main bar area and was " greeted" by lady directing us to side bar. Wanted to stay in main area but she said game was shown there. The main bar was definitely not full to capacity; far from it? Went in there and was basically like creche with game on but people having Sunday lunch, sound down and no atmosphere ( which is what area designed for). We decided to take our drinks next door and found table at the back. Good atmosphere and getting into game and same person came up and said rudely could we not lean back behind us? Was actually not leaning on it but thought maybe screen or something. Carried on watching the game and 1 minute later came back and rolled up blind that was that covered dart board? Was sooo rude. By this time people around us were looking at her and laughing and asking" what her problem was" We were all so confused it was funny but we did feel very uncomfortable. She definitely had a bee in her bonnet about something? Do not know if she a had problem with us moving from other bar or what? Most certainly will NEVER go there again! If you do happen to go there beware of where you stand!!!!!

Amazing staff, great food and Ambience

What an amazing find. I’ve lived very close to this pub for nearly two years and have never been inside. From the street it looks rather small and quiet, but the back area is large bustling and vibrant. A great selection of reasonable priced beers, live sports, a duke box, table service, friendly staff, Irish sport shown, live music, large garden with gazebo and screens. A secret oasis of Acton. I think I’ve found my new local!

Great place. well laid out, Good garden. Clean. Got all your sport screens, not my thing but good. Staff all friendly. Beautiful Guinness. Well priced, very well priced. proper pub. The food is great as well, had the Sausage and mash gravy... side of beans. Loved it Thank you

Started coming here recently and really enjoy it. Good beer selection, great Guinness and loads of TVs to watch sport, including the beer garden. The service is excellent as well.

Watched a rugby match there on a Saturday morning. Beer reasonably priced and the service was good. Big outside area.

Best place to watch sports in Acton, maybe in Ealing. The customer service is 10/10, very lovely staff

Attended a funeral here a couple of weeks ago. Delicious soup and sandwiches and great value for money. All staff were beyond helpful and friendly, especially one lady called Avril. Will be back with my family for dinner and drinks in the near future.

Wouldn't let me in, it's hard to believe considering it's at Patrick's day, what a disgrace to anyone Irish, save your time and head north west of the river.

This pub seems to have something against the Irish they weren't letting them stay on st Patrick's including myself and insisting tables were booked while there was hardly any Irish within the pub most European and English not to mention loads of tables were free. Not welcoming I recommend going to Kilburn for a good Irish atmosphere in their pubs.

I’ve been coming here for over 30 years and it’s always been a great pub in my opinion. Got the pool table and darts board in one bar and tvs in the other. The food is great. I’ve had roast dinners, burgers, English breakfasts and it’s good value and large portions. The staff are always friendly and it’s got a great atmosphere

Ordered takeaway shepherds pie with veg. Absolutely superb food! On top of that there’s enough left for a second meal very impressed with service and quality.

AVOID, Blonde barmaid was very rude in the past and tonight when I went to sit down waiting for my friend she lied and said they were having a private and I confirmed with the local punters outside that there was no private party. AVOID they're greedy money grabbing staff who don't care about the customer and if they think you're not spending anything they'll rudely kick you out. When you do sit down in this place the barmaids keep coming to your table pressurising you to pay for more drinks before you've even finished the one in your hand, I advice attending other Irish pubs as my family's Irish and I've attended many and have never experienced this outrageous insulting behaviour from a barmaid before from an Irish pub normally they're very hospitable and welcoming in other Irish establishments. AVOID!!!

The staff are so helpful we came as a group of seniors and they couldn't do enough for us the governor even gave us a complentry drink

The worst service that I have had!! I ordered food and a pint but when I finished, waiter asked to order more and said I can’t watch football if I will not order more…

Super Pub und Restaurant. Das Essen hast sehr gut geschmeckt. Es war alles sehr frisch und sehr große Portionen. Hier wurden alle wünsche erfüllt, wir wollten NFL schauen und der Besitzer hat bei voller Bar uns dies eingeschaltet. Sehr zu empfehlen. Wenn wir wieder in London sind, kommen wir wieder.

Really enjoyed attending a birthday party in the front bar of The Windmill, W3. Good service, great atmosphere and a lovely selection of buffet food. Had a brilliant night. I also recommend this pub as a good local - it has a nice outdoor space and friendly staff.

Went with a mate he’s Irish and wanted to watch an Irish sport game. They changed the game on him mid play and then chastised him for being upset about it. He said it’s not the first time that’s happened. Staff where just plain rude not Irish or English take from that what you will. But prob one of the reasons they couldn’t understand why an Irish person in an Irish pub watching an Irish final would get upset at them turning it off to watch something else. If the staff weren’t so rude about it I could of found it funny

I'm not too far from this venue. I won't lie the food is decent on a Sunday; however, some of the staff are miserable. On two occasions now, I have been in the middle of watching something in the front bar when without warning, they have changed what is on the screens; this time, I was watching the Munster hurling final in an Irish bar! When they switched it off for the wales football game. I let out a roar of Oi to ask why (as I said in the middle of the match no warning) when the staff came over and said they were changing it as nobody was watching; a brief exchange happened as I explained I obviously was, but she didn't seem to understand this, and at this point told me to go into the other bar I was mid pint and feed not the optimum time to switch bars. It's not the fact they switch it off; it’s that they don't even have the decency to tell anyone that they are about to change it. It’s usually the same staff as well; service isn’t their strong point.

I came for a drink with a friend and my dog. I've never been here. It was really nice and chilled and nice staff. And my friend had a burger (I didn't as I had food plans after) which looked really tasty, and a generous portion. Definitely would like to go back and eat as well! Dog friendly and spacious :)

This a really a good pub, the best in Acton. All the sports on with multiple TV screens. Good for the GAA games and premier League. The bar and floor staff are second to none, never waiting to be served. Food is always on point. Good selection of beers including large bottles of Smithwicks, a rarity in the UK.

I was only in the front bar. It was warm and welcoming but it was empty at 1pm on a Sunday. We (3 of us) ordered Sunday lunch. I had the beef and my friends had the chicken wrapped in bacon. The food was good. The staff were friendly and attentive. Service quick and over all it was very nice. But no atmosphere. To be fair if I'd gone into the back and had a look I'm certain there would have been more people. Maybe next time. I do recommend this pub.

Only a quick visit hoping to see some old friends but they weren't there nice to see that they are making the most of the beer garden with the marquis in the garden

Amazing burgers. Only spoilt by floppy, not crispy, bacon. The bangers and mash is a solid choice but needs revving up. For example, - blackening the onions before making the gravy, - using a bean and pea mix with chilli and mint instead of just plain peas, - grated strong cheddar and crispy bacon bits folded into the mashed potato. Be aware and beware that the windmill's coleslaw is sugary sweet, just nope.

I ordered a takeaway Sunday Lamb Roast. I was extremely disappointed I got 1 roast potato a load of mash mashed up carrots and what looked like shredded Lamb. It was tasteless and I ended up giving it to my dog. It’s very rare that I order a Sunday roast to takeaway but I do shift work and didn’t get home till 8am couldn’t be bothered to cook and my neighbour recommended me roast lamb dinner. I won’t be eating from here again and I certainly won’t be recommending the food to anyone

This traditional pub has been run by the same family for many years and it’s no surprise that it has survived when many in Acton have closed. It’s no doubt because of its friendly and attentive staff, good beer and superb food. My home-cooked burger was excellent.

Living in Acton for a while, we have occasionally stepped in for a quick pint into the quiet front area of this lovely venue but today exceeded our expectations. We rocked in for a late lunch through the side entrance leading to the beer garden and we have loved every minute of it. Spacious garden, very clean tables, attentive and helpful staff, delicious food and great atmosphere. Glad to recommend to friends, neighbours and anyone reading this comment. Big thank you to Kelly, what a sweetheart.

Staff were very rude. We booked a wake cost over £1200.00. Only to be told that the children had to be out by 6pm reason being they had no licence for after 6pm . I thought that a wake would of come under a private function but according to the landlord it doesn't. If we had known this we would not have held the wake there as we did not get to the wake until gone 4PM and to tell people with children that they had to leave at 6PM was appalling. Check full details before booking as very money oriented. Very poor.

Worst place to go when you are grieving... Had my father's wake there and it was not very nice... Wouldn't even give it a one star... Cold uncaring... Not child friendly at all...

Disappointed to say that this pub has mistreated my family after we booked the venue for a wake. My grandad passed away and we booked this place for the family to come and celebrate his life. The staff were incredibly rude, kicking out the children in the evening with no prior knowledge when we booked, if we knew this we would not have booked. The food we had was very good but I was not impressed to see guests turned away from food only just for the staff to help themselves in front of the guests. Our grieving nan was constantly pestered by staff which was disrespectful considering the circumstances. I was not impressed with this place.

This pub was very rude I was at a private function and was appalled at the way the staff treated the guests. We was not told that the chicken had to be out by 7PM this pub is just money oriented.

Really disappointed in this pub!!!! We had my father's wake there... The food was lovely but the staff were atrocious... We are in still sorely upset with the whole situation... If you are planning a function there Don't take your children... Not child friendly at all

Really I shouldn't be giving it one star. We had our Grandad's wake in this pub yesterday 9th September 2021. We didn't get in there until 4pm. My grandad has lot's of grandkids and great grandkids so obviously they were all playing together and running around together in the garden. We we're told that they had to all sit down at a table...well when you have kid's as young as 2 you know well they won't sit down for long. Then we we're told the children had to be out by 6...which they didn't tell us when we booked for the wake. They allowed us until 7 but said all kid's under 16 had to be out. They went up to my nan anout 4 time's complaining about the children which she didn't need as she just got back from her husband's funeral. The children weren't running around inside we was all outside together with the children. They did us a hot buffet which was lovely and the kid's had boxes of chicken strips and chip's..but when an adult went to take a box for themselves they we're told that they weren't allowed it...just for kid's only. Seriously we paid for the food so it shouldn't matter who was eating it. They we're very rude and had no empathy or sympathy for anyone. Just moaned about the kid's...even at just gone 7 they we're standing there waiting for us to leave. Seriously why let a family hold a wake when all you wanna do is take their money and get them out. Absolutely disgusting 😤 😡

After we booked this venue for my Grandads funeral I was disgusted with the way we was treated by the staff, we had not been told when booking the venue that children had to leave at 6 o’clock if we had we would not of gone with this booking! The staff were very rude and began to help themselves to our food that we had paid for, they constantly complained about the children who were just being kids and playing in the garden, The staff were standing around rolling their eyes and tutting and talking amongst themselves about the children and kept complaining to my grieving Nan Who didn’t need to hear this at such a sad time, this pub is not kid friendly if you are thinking about booking any occasion here, I would really reconsider in booking!!!! they ought to be ashamed of themselves

After having my grandads wake at this pub I was disgusted with how we was treated. When booking the venue we was not told that children had to leave at 6. The staff were harassing my Nan with every minor slight concern they had such as children not being robots and instead they were playing but this was still frowned upon, This pub is NOT child friendly and that was the last thing my Nan needed. We spent a lot of money with having food included which I must say was very nice, but we did not expect the staff to help themselves without asking, leaving no consideration to the family, I think their actions were disgusting. Once this pub got there money they wanted us out. They knew the reasons as to why we booked this place (A FUNERAL) yet there was absolutely no compassion there what so ever. We ordered extra children’s meals as we know some adults may have wanted a snack yet we were refused them as ‘they were only for children’ even though we paid for them. I’m not one to write reviews but I feel very strongly against the way my family we’re treated. Would not recommend this place snd would strongly advise staying as far away from here as possible.

A local pub whether you are a regular or not. Excellent cleanliness, excellent staff, great menu and food and super beer, but needs to keep a hand pump beer on offer.

I paid £15 for fish and chips that were undercooked. When I asked for my food to be changed I was summoned to come from outside into the bar and speak to the person in charge. She was a Polish lady who told me that I could have my money back and leave because I had a bad attitude. When I asked her what she meant she referred to me earlier requesting that the screen brightness be turned up so that I might be better able to see the game I came into watch. When I went back into the garden to tell my friend what was happening I was followed by two muscle-bound security men who followed closely as I exited the pub.

What an amazing first night. I loved every moment. Thank you for looking after us. I could see how hard everyone worked. It was not easy. So many customers who always wanted something.
