Castano Lounge in Ealing

I was served at the bar by 2 lovely ladies who were so welcoming and made our dinner very enjoyable. The service was excellent and so was the food. This was Thursday 24th October in the evening.

Very disappointed by this restaurant. The staff weren’t welcoming. We had to wait for a table to be cleaned for us to sit on as all the tables were cluttered with dirty dishes. Atmosphere isn’t very welcoming and theres not any background music for a nice vibe. The lights kept switching off and on several times which could easily have caused a big issue should someone have suffered from epilepsy. The utensils were dirty with food marks. The waiter said that some items from our dish wasn’t available but he bought some from the shop and was going to add it on to the dish after which we never got. We waited for an extra 15 minutes but nothing changed. The prices are quite high for an average restaurant and definitely not worth it. Won’t be coming back. Better value for money at wagamama just a few shops down.

Luke and Hannah were very accommodating and sweet, I have a corn allergy and couldn’t eat in but they made sure I still had a pleasant experience and gave amazing service, give them a raise!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Thanks again :))

Service was friendly and efficient, and I appreciated the convenience of the QR code ordering system, though you can also order at the bar, which gives it more of a pub vibe than a traditional restaurant. They also have interesting offers during the weekdays. While a high 4 would be fair, my experience here was enjoyable enough to warrant 5 stars and raise the review average for this spot. Definitely recommended 👌

The food at this place was amazing, and the waiters, Ash and Hannah, were so kind and helpful.

Hannah and Ash are the most warm and welcoming people I have ever met. First time coming to this lovely restaurant and I absolutely felt loved welcomed and the food is excellent I was appalled by how professional and kind staff are here. 1000 stars. Absolutely loved it and looking forward to come again.

Visited on a Thursday night and was pretty empty. Food ordered via an app at the table (though you can go to the bar if you like) Food is a riot of flavours and absolutely gorgeous. Only downside is the prices are a little high (but could be because it's close to london) . Recommended

The "lounge" was very good. The quality of the food was good even though the portions were quite small. The tea and coffee was good and could definitely be served much hotter. Great service was excellent, the attentiveness to ensuring the tables were cleared and everything was in order.

My wife uses this place often after baby groups. Friendly staff and space for pushchairs during the day. We came in for breakfast which was a solid fry-up.

Very happy with the customer service. I ordered Vegan dish by mistake and they corrected my order for no extra charge. Lovely food, recommended!

The only word that can describe this place is bad.

This place is atrocious. The portion sizes on the small plates are tiny; there were about 15 sweet potato fries in the minuscule serving. The worst thing is the service - disengaged and disinterested. No welcome, no how’s your meal, no offer to see if you need anything - I had to ask for mayo, ask for water and ask for salt. And my dirty plates have been sat in front of me for 30 minutes now since I finished eating. Owners - please look up the meaning of the word hospitality. I expect this will be another casualty within 12 months. And it will be a good riddance. Best thing? I just mentioned to the waitress that the plates had been sitting here for ages..her response? “there’s only two of us working”. There are 5 tables occupied. Are you serious? Do some work.

Great food, lovely staff, reasonable prices

If you are looking for a quick lunch for good value, this is a good place. Very spacious, clean bathrooms and food is good versus price. Service is friendly, although I am not a fan of ordering via QR code at table (which is promoted), but I believe you can also order at bar.

Great spacious and family -friendly restaurant. We had a birthday gathering, we really enjoyed the food , drinks and the atmosphere of the place. Service was excellent. Highly recommended for everyone.

Very nice atmosphere, delicious food, minimal waiting time.

Had a lovely coffee and hot chocolates with an excellent carrot and nice chocolate brownie. Also had a nice glass of Chardonnay. Nice big cafe, atmosphere lovely and toilets nice and clean . Reasonably priced.

Loved this place and had a great meal of 3 tapas (which were delicious) and 2 cocktails - also delicious - followed by Churros (with 2 different dips) which were yummy.. The 2 girls behind the bar were friendly & helpful and the food came quite quickly. I loved the decor & atmosphere of the restaurant and enjoyed every minute of my dining experience there plus the menu is huge with an extensive choice of dishes. I will definitely be back!

Tasty food and great gluten free options. The service is okay but because you are ordering through an app and paying there , isn’t too much attention paid to you as a customer. It is dog friendly, so if you don’t like dogs around you when you eat, don’t recommend it.

I had the impression that this place attracted my soul , chandeliers with fringe are from my dreams , amazing coffee scent, furniture and wallpaper red spice colour typical for Spanish exotic craft . Such a shame I was sooo excited about this place the atmosphere and decor is amazing staff super friendly but been let down by the food 😒 ... the lounge brunch looked great but was barely luke warm .. the cheddar and sweetcorn fritters were spongey instead of crunchy so were clearly cooked in too much fat .. the pancakes with streaky bacon and maple syrup again looked great but were cold .. and the syrup was freezing .. the sausage and egg breakfast muffin was a disappointment.. the egg was still slippery from the oil .. the muffin was squidgy and not toasted plus you could see it was cold as the cheese slices were already hard instead of soft from heat 🫤 and to top it all off .. the buttermilk fried chicken which I ordered as a side to have with my pancakes was cremated .. nearly broke a tooth 😶 .. But a positive note the latte and hot chocolate were delicious 😋

Weirdly enough this is the best pub as well as the best brunch spot in the area. And yes, I'd definitely call this a pub. I come here for relaxed dates with my husband or to catch up with friends. It's a fantastic place for young professionals or students with great background music, service, food and drinks. With weird and wonderful decor and an opening shop front for summer nights.

Great place to enjoy a coffee with friends. Best to book a table before going so as not risk having to wait if you're going for a bite to eat as it sometimes gets busy. Captivating decor, chilled out atmosphere, lovely service. Definitely coming here again given the opportunity.

Interesting place, kind staff, good coffee, average food.

We chose Castano as we wanted a place where we can sit for hours and paint on a sunday afternoon and they let us do that without disturbing or asking us to leave and for that we are very grateful! The ambience is very nice with paintings hung on the walls, the background music playlist was very vibey as well. Coming to the food, I quite enjoyed my Lebanese falafel. It was very crispy. One compaint I have is regarding the service and the waitress. She was very uninviting and hostile with us even thought we were polite. She seemd annoyed and it made me very awkward to ask her anything. Overall, good time with my friends.

Poorly managed. Got in, sat at a table, ordered. Place was very quiet, our table scattered with dirties and crumbs, our drinks took 20 minutes to arrive. Only after that the previous customers' empty dishes were taken away. Not impressed. The atmosphere's ok, the food is nice once you get it, but we asked for a substitute that we didn't get and were told it was not ordered. So I'll think twice before I think of going again.

Great atmosphere, welcoming staff and fantastic food!

Baffled - a group of 7 of us turned up on Sunday for brunch. The space was about 1/3 full, and we were immediately turned away. The explanation given was that they were low on staff and couldn’t take any more tables. We said we would be happy to wait if service was a bit slower. The server turned to the manager who just shook their head without even coming over to talk to our group. No apology or offer to make a reservation to return in 20/30 mins when they might have been able to accommodate us (goodness knows why they couldn’t even accommodate us at the time - as I say hardly busy). We left and then watched a table of 3 be seated immediately after us. Seemed more like a crèche if you want to turn up with kids and nurse a coffee for 2 hours rather than a functioning eatery.

Refused to serve us as they said the kitchen was too busy and they were understaffed. They then seated groups who came in after us. We said we didn’t mind waiting but they just said no - there was no offer to take a reservation and let us come back later when the kitchen was less busy. Very poor customer service & overall quite a bizarre experience. I wouldn’t attempt to go back.

It’s fine, but a bit soulless. Staff are friendly but pointlessly greet you at the door and then leave you to order via a QR code. Food is ok, nothing special. Don’t order anything too fancy and you’ll be fine.

The place is really nice in terms of decoration and atmosphere. Sadly some of the meals on the menu weren’t available though. The staff were friendly. Toilets weren’t clean at all which was disappointing to see. Apart from that, everything was nice. Would definitely come back again!

Coeliac disease severely limits my food choices when eating out. Castano provided a comprehensive gluten-free menu and the dish I chose was both substantial and delicious.

Ideal little place for get togethers and quiet little pints. Prices fairly reasonable, even though portions are kinda tiny. Great service. Only 4 stars since we didn't really like the freshness of the chicken wings, and the burgers were nothing to write home about.

Nice restaurant, big, spacious. Family friendly and baby friendly which is great. However the food is very disappointing. Below average for basic items which is a shame.

Good food and nice decor, but unfortunately I saw there was quite a bit of mould growing in bottom of the customer-operated water dispenser. I only noticed when going back for my second glass and it was really off-putting. It must be cleaned quite infrequently for such a thick layer to have grown. It’s a shame because I really like coming here, but please fix this!

Came here for dinner with friends recently. Slaw was off, food was tiny for the price, drink never arrived and when I politely asked the manager, he said "he was doing everything" to which I replied "oh sorry". We ordered the donut sandwich for dessert and it was literally a bread bagel with ice cream. Told the manager and he rudely just replied "yeh?" So I asked for it to be sent back. Never again.

This location is wonderful - it’s the old Royal Bank of Scotland! They have a warehouse feel with raw concrete shell and quirky décor. The atmosphere is laid-back, and the staff is super cool, but they are also incredibly welcoming. Have to give shout out to Eden, David and Paris. They are smart in both what they are doing and what they are discussing things and it is clear that ensuring the satisfaction of their clients is their first concern. The food is nice, with some classics and some modern twists, and it is well worth it for the price they charge.

A nice place to grab a drink or a spot of brunch. Centrally located near Ealing Broadway shopping center. We ordered an English breakfast which was great and the service was welcoming and friendly. Try grabbing a spot outside when the weather is nice, but the interiors are really cosy as well!

The atmosphere is great and the food is really tasty. I have been there multiple times and I will continue to visit it. Usually it’s very calm and this is great. As a plus it’s open till late and it serves coffee anytime of the day.

Our whole family probably go to the lounge once a week. It has easily become our FAVOURITE place to go in Ealing since living here forever. The whole vibe and staff are amazing and genuinely we couldn’t love it more in there! Everyone we bring there loves the food, staff and drinks!!! You can relax there for hours without being bothered. Terrible experience. The food was pricey, the portions were small and it honestly tasted as if had just been heated in the microwave. The waitresses were rude when we said that the watermelon iced tea didn’t taste good, and said to us that they followed the recipe, so they couldn’t change it if we didn’t like it. There are way better options in the area where you would have better food for reasonable prices, so my honest suggestion is to avoid this place.

Me and my family went here for a nice meal tonight to celebrate my daughter's birthday , the food was lovely , we all had burgers which were so tastey , drinks were nice especially the cocktails, it was so relaxing and chilled ,we sat had coffees after and chatted , we will be back again ,thankyou to the staff who were very friendly too x

They need to change their staff. Don’t know what they are doing and not helpful at all. I paid for two drinks using the barcode but the system had a malfunction, they lied that they will resolve it but said they couldn’t so I had to pay again. The issue is how it was handled and not the having to pay again. Bad service.

Food was okay but that's about it. You seat yourself and nobody approaches you When you walk in. The QR code doesn't work so you have to order at the bar. The staff seemed more focus on making drinks rather than serving customers but if the QR code worked there would be no need to order from them. A female staff member with black hair and wearing a black Bandana had a terrible attitude. She made it seem like customers were bothering her but it's simply her Job to serve them. Also the tap in the disabled toilets was broken and very difficult to use.

I really don’t know what it is with Ealing and bad service. I love the food and decor here. I can’t fault that, but the servers really make or break an establishment. I don’t know if it’s because they were busy as I have visited twice and it’s been busy or that they just are rude little girls. I interacted with 3 females on my first visit and 2 on my second visit and got the same response. They were just very rude and not welcoming. When called out they apologised but by that time it was too late.

Lovely decorated place with good staff. The food however I found to be average, but pricey, pub grub. Not the worst, not the greatest. Update: I have got food poisoning. After eating around early afternoon, the evening came and all hell has let off. I am furious to say the least. It has ruined plans and I feel even more sick at the thought of thinking about the food I ate. I have tried to contact the store with the phone not even ringing. Just get 3 beeps and it cuts off.

WHAT AN AMAZING PLACE!!! The atmosphere felt like it imbued my pores and one bite of the food had me seeing jesus christ the lord Himself because its oily goodness was just too much to handle. When I inhaled the air within, It was like breathing the gas of an angel. If I die today from Sepsis, at least I went to the CASTANO LOUNGE!! 100/10!!!

I took my 4 year old daughter in today as a special treat after visiting her new school. I was absolutely disgusted when her burger arrived and she asked me who had eaten some of it. I was horrified to see bite marks in it!! Either they served my child someone else’s half eaten burger or a staff member decided to take a bite. Either way it is disgusting. The chips we had also looked and tasted like they were yesterday’s leftovers that had been re-cooked. Very disappointing and definitely would never go there again!!!

Impressive space with style. Staff are very very good here, they're real people, friendly, relaxed and efficient. Great sounds and lots of little weekday deals on food and drinks. It's my " go to " place before anywhere else in Ealing Broadway. Gay friendly a huge bonus!!

Superb! Despite the very hot weather in the day we went, the open space and air conditioning provided a welcome and calm experience for dining. The selection of food available is impressive - the dedicated vegan menu was welcome, and the staff friendly and efficient. And they certainly don’t hold back on the portion sizes of the food! Delightful experience - recommend this place without hesitation.

My two daughters and their friend were here on Saturday 10/6/23, they had a lovely time, drinks and food, were gorgeous, when one of my girls got home, she was missing her purse, we rang Castano Lounge and they said they had it, can I say it’s fantastic to know that there’s still honest people around, we collected the purse, cards etc were in it, they said they had a lovely time and Thank you so much.

Greeted warmly at the door as we entered, friendly attentive service, relaxed atmosphere and really good, quality tapas selections. Especially recommend the whipped feta and honey and the Korean style chicken wings.

Love this place. The extensive menus are amazing for all sorts of eaters. The deccor of the room and the feeling of space all makes for a lovely welcoming environment. Staff are always helpful and information. The self-ordering (at table using codes or at the counter in person) is a refreshing change from most other establishments and allows a variety of ways of splitting the bill if you want to. Like the specials too, such a Tapas Tuesday and lunchtime specials.Lovely

We had a great experience at Castano Lounge , Ealing. There is a real lively buzz to the place. Our food was really delicious & the portions were very generous. The staff were very friendly and super helpful. Highly recommend.

Lovely place for a get-together and chat.

Had heard Good things about this place so we were keen to try it out but were a little dissapointed overall. The food isn't bad, but equally nothing special in terms of the brunch items we tried. The shakshuka looked like it had been made by making the base sauce, then just dropping some pre-poached eggs in it (vs actually cooking the eggs in the sauce). I can imagine it may have been adapted this way for restaurant efficiency vs the traditional method. The veggie breakfast again was okay, but nothing special. The mushrooms were quite bland, and it only came with one egg (I thought two was usually standard - but you can order extra). Bread was decent and the sweetcorn fritters were quite nice. The baked beans were very sweet. Service was good and staff polite and friendly, setting/decor is nicely done for its style. Child friendly in the sense of plenty of space for pushchairs and colouring activities for kids. So while the food certainly isn't bad by any measure, it wasn't great either, and with the amount of competition in the area, I doubt we'll be rushing back.

First of all, the atmosphere is great! Beautiful & creative decorations. There’s a nice assortment of different dishes for each time of the day (breakfast, lunch and etc.). We’ve ordered a breakfast. The veggie breakfast was okay, the dish itself has lots of different components and they were not aromatic at all. The halloumi was crunchy, little bit tasteless, thankfully the sweet chili sauce added to the dish. The salad was great. If you are choosing to eat the toast, choose only if they have the jam because the other option is very bitter (unless you like bitter stuff)Overall, recommend to try if you are the area.

I guess 4 star is fair. It's a big place and it is very hard for them to keep the quality up to standard. You can eat good food, you can get bad food. It is a flip of a coin.
