The Willow Chippy 2 in Newcastle upon Tyne

Got a lunch time special, spam fritter and chips. The chips were nice but the spam fritter was swimming in grease. They've also put their prices up by a significant amount. £9 now for a fish. £5.70 for a curry chip butty. It's no longer value for money.

Staff are very friendly and fast

I love this place 😍 me and my husband went and they had a great atmosphere, the fish and chips I order were great and not to expensive either haha, I asked them to batter my fish 2 times and they did exactly that 🥰 linked a picture of my husband eating below ☺️

Ordered 27 small fish and chips to be delivered at approx 5pm to our Sheltered Housing.This is their busiest time but still came virtually on time. They were absolutely piping hot and delicious. Will most definitely be ordering again as everyone enjoyed their tea.

Tried here on a whim and was very impressed. One of the best chippy takeaways I’ve had in some time.

Bestest fish and chips around!!

Usually excellent but I have had one bad meal. The chips were crap tasted like they had been the scrapings out of the bottom and the fish wasn't nice. However, its normally good so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt

Thought the staff made me wait as I gave a review that was not perfect, but was very true. Again, the mushy peas were tasteless and lukewarm. Enough is enough!

Just moved next door and we are never moving again - wow - best chippy in the land. Lovely people in there too

I've been looking for a decent fish shop for ages and I've finally found it, we had a delivery of fish and chips and battered jumbo and chips, the food was absolutely lovely, lady on the phone was really nice and the delivery guy was very pleasant and friendly, 10/10 for the food and service, thankyou

They don't know how to cook chips. White and anemic chips

Food is spot on can't fault it but there service is very slow. When you wait 45 minutes for order and four people who ordered after you get orders before you. Excuse was large fish takes longer. May return some time in the future

Always get delivered and always boiling hot. Quality, enjoyable food everytime.

Just had one cod one haddock large chips and mushy peas. I have to say it was outstanding, we ate every last scrap and enjoyed every mouthful. We used to own a fish and chip shop too. Amazing 😀😀😀

Has never failed me yet here. Cant really complain about there always being a queue here, testamount to the quality of food. Its cod bites and chips with a jumbo sausage my order, i share it with the family, theres enough to go around and its always hot and freshly cooked to order. You will not be handed a fish thats been sat there for hour like in some other chippys! Lush!

I've been going to the willow 2 chippy for quite a while now. I go every week, and the fish and chips are first class freshly cooked to order. And the staff are all lovely and friendly, they keep the place spotlessly clean.

After hearing great recommendations we Ordered x 2 Cod chips and mushy peas for the first time from willow 2. The delivery was prompt, and the driver was lovely, friendly and chatty. The meal did not disappoint, it was piping hot, and absolutely delicious this won’t be our last order, thank you for a lovely meal. Mr and Mrs Smith.

Yes our fish and chips had come but my partner asked for 2 curry’s sauces 1 small curry sauce and 1 large one and two sets of mushy peas and two cans of Coke the women who took our order only put down for 1 curry sauce and 1 mushy peas when we rang back up asking where it was she haven’t added on the the other curry sauce and mushy peas we were happy to pay extra for the mushy peas and curry sauce but when the delivery driver came back to drop off our pops she didn’t add on our mushy peas or curry sauce which we had been on the phone asking for

great food is expensive but i did get a large fish and chips next time i will just get regular portions as it was far too big

It was 9ne off the nice fish and chip shop when it first open I went there tonight the chips was full black eyes fish wasn’t cooked right half done there was a small girl in there wiped her Norse with her hands over and over and didn’t even wash her hands there was bits chips batter bit paper all over the floor hasn’t been swept the guy who’s was doing the cooking he was sneezing and didn’t wash his hands a will not be going back there wallsend willows definitely

Out and out the best classic chippy in the area. You won't get donner kebabs or pizzas here and that's because they're a fish and chip shop, that's what they focus on and that's what makes them the best! Defo recommend getting mushy peas with your fish and chips - best I've ever tasted!

Absolutely fantastic chip shop everything I’ve ever had from the menu had been fresh and tasty, only thing that lets it down are the staff. Last couple of times were a bit rude, I know it’s a very busy little shop but a smile costs nothing.

Rang for delivery at 15.45 for lunch time specials and because it wasn't going to be delivered till 16.30 I couldn't have them at lucunch prices, but I was paying for the meals by card on the phone so I was buying them before 16.00 but they still wanted to charge me full. Not be using them again they charge enough now without trying to con people.

My family have been ordering from here for a long time, both my grandparents love the food and I do too. Excellent on a Friday night, always very friendly and considerate. Best fish and chips in walker hands down. Would reccomend.

I always use the Willow chippy as the fish are cooked perfectly and you get a great choice. This is the first time using Willow 2 but it won't be the last. I'm amazed that both shops are never mentioned in the chippy of the year. Keep up the good work lads.

This is our go-to chippy. Beautifully battered fish with really crispy batter but the fish is still moist and tender, always piping hot and fresh. Chips are great too. Really reasonably priced. Closes some days at 7.45pm which seems quite early but I'm sure they know their customer base and probably isn't worth being open after that time.

On my visit this afternoon (26-1-22) the service was brilliant and the staff couldn’t be nicer. Fish and chips were perfect. Best chippy around.

Best chippy around, for sure. We started going there around the end of last summer, but then once our baby arrived, (lazily) started getting our food delivered. Always good quality, always bang on time, but this evening they outdid themselves. Had ordered a minced beef pie as part of our order, and when our food was delivered, it came with a note saying 'we only had steak pie / chicken & mush, gave you one of each instead'. Nice to see decent service is alive and well. Thanks guys!

Usually great. But can't say it was fantastic tonight. Fish batter was rock hard as if it had been precooked and reheated. Not fit for human consumption. Never again.

One of the best Fish & Chips in Toon. Efficiency is 10 out of 10. Freshness and taste 10 out of 10. Staff is really nice too! The actual place looks clean and modern. There is plenty space to park around there. You can't eat in. Wheelchair friendly to entre the shop. Go get ours folk!
