We arrived 2ish. The menu was very extensive. Great choice and good wine. The gentleman who served us was a bit abrupt and gave the impression of being a bit annoyed. I apologise if this is the wrong impression. He didn't do chit-chat and was quite straight! The place was really cold even though it's mid-August! Why not use the log burner? It could be really cosy. The food was nice. However, the meat in the pie was very chewy (not good quality), and the salmon was dry. Overall, it was good. Would we call again? I don't think so.

Husband said he enjoyed his meal ( he was famished so he would've eaten a scabby dog!), mine was not great ( sorry). Chicken dry in parts, slimey in parts, with a very unappetizing gelatinously lumpy sauce, the carrots were just spongy mush. I think their microwave is king in the kitchen. The saviour was the green beans which were cooked to perfection. All the staff we saw are lovely though, smiling, welcoming and friendly, so I didn't complain, it is what it is. Would I dine here again..? god no, but my husband would......!

The atmosphere and friendly staff but it was somewhat let down by some of the food. Had pan fried mushrooms for starter in garlic but was totally tasteless followed by parmesan crusted salmon which was enjoyable if the portion was not so miniscule that it was almost hidden by the green beans. Then ordered ice cream sundae for wife but on bill they tried to charge us for a sharing sundae

On our now rare visit to the area, we just had to take time out to come to the Wildfowler. Which when we had our holiday home here was our regular haunt. Recommended to us by our holiday let. Beautiful little pub, attentive staff. Great prices for home cooked meals. Perfect selection for children's menu. Rarebit starter, curry & steak pie main. Watching neighbouring tables food arrive all meals looked lovely particularly the burgers. We struggled to decide what to eat as it all sounded/looked good. Unfortunately we were too full for pudding. Food served 12-8 which is hard to find around the area. Toilets were a little dated but none the less very clean. Always something we dread with a little one. We would return.

We came here for a Sunday dinner. First impressions of the pub was how cosy and stylish is was. The staff are so welcoming. We had a sunday roast beef dinner. Its was absolutely amazing. The beef was so tender and not fatty bits which I can't stand. There was more than enough veg which was all cooked to perfection. We had pudding aswell which was delicious. Definitely recommend coming here and prices are quite reasonable aswell. Look forward to visiting again.

A waitress came and asked if we wanted a drink while looking at the menu we each ordered a drink. when she came back we were asked if we wanted to order ! ordered Pork another ordered Turkey and I ordered Beef. When the meals came they were all well presented along with a dish of mixed vegetables. My beef was excellent well cooked and very tender and tasted great. Staying nearby in a self catering Cottage, with our young pup, we decided to treat ourselves to an evening meal on our last night. The staff were friendly and helpful and the menu was very extensive. I chose the Duck. which was plentiful and very delicious. My husband had the Fish and chips, which he said was very good. Unfortunately., because we had our dog with us, we were only allowed to eat outdoors, under a large marquee. It was a very windy evening, so not the most comfortable environment but the food was very enjoyable.

The pub is on the main road with a large marquee at the front for out-door dining. As we were in the area on holiday with a dog, that's what we did. Dogs are not allowed indoors unless service animals. Service was OK, drinks quick to arrive, but I needed to go in to remind staff we wanted to order food. The menu is quite wide ranging. I had the fish and chips, my wife the duck. Both meals were wholesome and remained warm despite the cooling breeze on the tent. All in two meals and a bottle of wine cost about £50. Not bad considering the location.

We eventually found this morning great pub after driving 10 miles in the wrong direction thanks to my wife who said it was called the Wall Flower When we arrived we were shown to our table I chose the prawn cocktail starter, boys was it big. They certainly did not scrimp on the prawns! For mains, I had a lasagne and my wife and mother has gammon. The lasagne was to die for, totally delicious. The filling was amazing and really flavoursome. The gammon was HUGE, in fact it was so HUGE my mother ended up taking her and my wife’s left over piece home. The gammon was the size of the plate. The service was excellent, the girls who waited on the table were lovely and the barman was very friendly. We have seen some poor reviews on Tripadvisor about this place, I think they must have been reviewing the wrong pub. I would definitely recommend this pub and if I am ever in this part of Wales again then I would visit in a heartbeat

Pefect location if you want to wait 95 minutes for your food to arrive after ordering it and it still was basic. The lamb was nice but the gammon was very poor and not enjoyable so taken home for the dog - think the kitchen staff were more interested in watching the football after over hearing a comment from the waiting staff. Were given no updates on waiting time until having to ask after one party member who struggles with food began to feel quite unwell - wasn't even allowed to sit outside after we had requested this when booking. Won't be going back and not worth anyone wasting their time at.

Having taken the advice to book for a large party of 9 plus 3 little ones we were seated comfortably in the area near where the dart board and wood burner. There were a number of other groups in which for a Sunday meant the establishment, also looking for staff at all levels, had needed to call staff in from rest days.Drinks were ordered, the menu plus specials plus kids choice came forth. The range included vegetarian and to be honest that would have been a good choice but those chosen just had the edge. The old favourite of baked camembert came with a delightful amount of warm ciabatta style bread,an area other places skimp on, the pate similarly came with the similar amount of warmed bread but the chutney was outstanding. Other starters such as the salt and pepper squid were eaten with gusto and much approval. Then the wait.It was a long wait for the mains however we were kept informed and actually the party enjoyed the non rushed meal. The mains all came at the same time which was roundly approved of. Fish and chips (tasty but looked the size of a small whale), lasagne delightful, curry and poppadum tasty.and excellent, steak cooked just as requested, gammon thick sliced and tasty. Being biased I went for the lamb shank slow cooked with mash. The meat, I so hope it was local, had been cooked so it remained tasty and falling off the bone. The jus or gravy (depending on your terminology) rich, thick and full of mint, mash was smooth and flavoursome. At the end this group of souls left replete, satisfied and vowing to go back. The staff were friendly humerous and were more than helpful. A large group, on a Sunday can cause issues but here, apart from being slower possibly than would be liked as it was full, we cannot praise the place too much.Oh and the beer, the Carlsberg was said to be well kept and the HPA from the Wye Valley glorious.Recommendation...always book just to make sure and on this performance you will not be disappointed. We, probably in smaller numbers, will come back when in the area.

Fantastic class value for money meal , could not beat the quality of the cooking, and welcome , a little gem of a place , only one thing could be better, apparently due to some cretins leaving without paying they prefer you to pay for each transaction as and when you order it , it's a touch inconvenient as you are having to leave the table to pay at the bar all the time ECT, I do understand why they need to make sure of getting payment but maybe just leaving some form of I D .ECT behind bar (ie: driving licence) until the full bill is played or take all card details at the beginning to open the tab would be a better option, food and people fantastic though , definitely would go back ...

Both were huge portions and very generous two big home made faggots really tasty. Great welcome really friendly service again. Recommend.

A friend had spoken highly of the Sunday lunch at the Wildfowler so my wife and I drove out to try it for ourselves. We are so glad we did. My wife had the turkey and I had the lamb. They were both excellent, tasty, plentiful and nicely presented. Bearing in mind how ridiculously expensive lamb is in local shops I was pleasantly surprised how much lamb was on my plate when it arrived. My wife also had a very generous amount of tender turkey. There was also a good choice of vegetables. The price too was extremely reasonable.

Very nice pub/restaurant recommended to us by our b & b hostsFood and drink choices and quality could not be faulted nor the cleanliness or cost My wife and I dined here two nights running and our only minor criticism is that staff could be more attentive when clearing tables the second time we dined the two nights were not consistant else we would have marked highe

Stopped by for lunch while holidaying in Borth. Staff were very friendly and the atmoshere was very quiet which is probably usual for the time of day.My wife had the steak which was cooked appropriately (medium) which she had asked for. I went for the Pork loin with sage and onion and an apple compote of the specials both meals were faultless and very enjoyable. The standard menu is pretty much what you would expect but I would say the specials board meals are a little bit more adventurous. All in all a Brilliant all round experience Food/Service/Price would definately go back if in the Locality

After the locals praising the chips along with the fish we decided to book on Thursday.I ordered a local ale and after a few sips and nearly being sick i took it back to the bar as it was off,not a good start.I then ordered a moretti beer. This was flat and awful. The guests on the next table were eating fish and chips and the chips did look amazing,so 3 in the group ordered the fish and chips. They had cips with skins on and were shocking and not what the other guests were eating.I had the pie which was nice but just came with plain broccoli carrots and new potatoes which were very bland.Very very disappointed.

Lovely warm atmosphere, very helpful staff, food very good value for money. Hot food, clean all round pub. Nice area on the car park to relax outside with drinks. Highly recommended! We moved to Borth almost a year ago and have eaten in many local restraints, in our opinion this is the best. We've dined here four times with friends and family and they all would eat there again.

We booked for our last night on holiday, its a lovely place the staff very friendly and managed to get us a table in the restaurant area. The menu was varied with about three vegetarian options. We had about a 40 minute wait for food. Our meals were well cooked, very tasty and nicely presented and were very reasonably priced.

We booked for Sunday lunch on our journey home from North Wales. It’s a lovely place, the owners and staff were very friendly and welcoming. We had a traditional lunch, one beef and one lamb, it was amazing, all cooked and presented beautifully, and plenty of it, there are also alternative meals if you don’t want a roast dinner. There were lots of returning regulars there also. Highly recommended .

We have been visiting The Drover's for around 25 years. As a full Family initially, now just the two of us. Peter and his Team never disappoint. The welcome is always friendly and we do enjoy a modest pre Lunch drink in the cosy snug out the back. The views of the river are spectacular. It was a bit chilly to be sitting outside on the balcony but one brave chap did take his coffee out there! The food, well, you can't call it 'just Sunday Lunch! It's a foodie treat! Plenty of beautifully cooked food. Always hot and tasty. The quality is certainly there as well. Cannot fault anything and the Sweets are to die for! The atmosphere is invariably pleasant. A good mixture of Walkers, Holiday makers and Locals. Thanks so much for everything over the years Peter. We're already in the process of booking next year's trip to Wales, so keep an eye out for an email soon!

Our first time here this morning. From the minute we walked in we was welcomed and seated. All staff were welcoming. Myself and fiancé ordered a full English, food was lovely not one fault and clear plates. I had a cappuccino which was tasty and perfect. We were approached and asked if everything was okay during our meal. We paid with cash and left a tip as we were very pleased. We will definitely be attending again on our next stay.

Great place to stay. A friend and I cycled to the area and stayed here overnight. The owner is very accommodating and friendly. The room is a generous size with all the facilities you would want, and you have access to an outside deck area with lounge chairs and table which is ideal on a sunny day. The breakfast was also lovely. The location was great as it’s a 5 min walk from 2 good pubs and a post office/shop

Mock timber frame manor house retaining much of its character and charm. No lifts. Breakfast was choose your own pre-packed cereals with a cooked option. Dinner was a mini-taster with delicious options which we watched cooked on TV cameras. The room was clean but dated with an en-suit crammed in. High windows restricted light and views of extensive gardens and river. The staff were friendly and willing but lacked service training. Guests our age do not wish to be called 'you guys'.
