Always a great experience here, we regularly use this restaurant. The food is yummy and the staff are always friendly & helpful! Sanju was particularly polite & friendly on our last visit. We couldn’t recommend the restaurant more (:

We had a pizza making party today , we had a very friendly and attentive host Bea, she was very good with the children and maintained a friendly happy face throughout. All the staff were also so friendly and it’s great to attend a place that has great customer service from the whole team . All the children really enjoyed themselves.

Ubuntu this pub about an hour ago and I feel really sick I've been sick then Tours and I've read been to the toilet loads of times I'm never going back again

Living locally we have visited for years and this place has always been hit and miss. But after our recent experience it seems apparent that the new owners seem to really be turning the place around. I arrived for breakfast 30 minutes before they finished serving expecting there to not be much left however, whilst we were dishing up our food all of a sudden more and more food was brought out and we were spoilt for choice. Food was good and exactly what you would expect for the price. We were also pleasantly surprised when the breakfast slot finished and a gentleman went over to every table to check if anyone wanted anything before they cleared it away. Staff were all incredibly helpful and seem to be fully supported by management which makes all the difference. We are looking forward to our next visit, it was nice to experience such a warm environment in there again.

Unfortunately staffing is not good. 1 person running the carvery on a Sunday. So he was doing all the cutting and refilling of the veg. Also has to wait an hr for our dessert (ice cream sundae) in the end we gave up and asked for a refund

As always a great meal! Great value for money I don’t think there is anywhere local that does it better for the price you pay. Very welcoming staff always happy to help, our son has special needs and we are always made to feel welcome.

We had a family birthday lunch booked, 26th January 2025 I placed our order 8 carverys and 4 pizzas, it took about 45 to 50 mins to get the pizzas for the 4 children, after asking 3 times where they were, they more focused on dealing with the uber orders, when you go to a restaurant to eat, you should be there main focus and deal with your on site customer's first. I have on been other occasions and had a wonderful service, just not today

Came in yesterday for a carvery, very pleased with the service. My waitress, Beatrice was very attentive, friendly and provided very good service. Definitely will be coming back!

Will never go again. Absolutely awful carvery. Didn't know it wasn't table service and so was taken to a table and that was it. We were waiting for someone to ask if we are ready to order or do we want drinks etc. Sat for quite a while, eventually we asked someone. They did apologise for not explaining anything which was nice. The food was disgusting. We will never go again. Food was Luke warm. Dessert was sticky toffee pudding and custard but stone cold. Such a disappointment

We took our Beaver Scouts to a Pizza Making Party here. They had a super time, all the staff from the Manager down were excellent with the children. The hour and a half soon flew by and the children were busy the whole time. We shall definitely repeat this again.

Once again a great experience. The new management team are really pulling things round. We came for something to eat Saturday 18th and had the added bonus of a disco! What a great evening, keep up the hard work. 😊

Bad experience this time. It wasn't busy but our starters took 50 minutes to arrive. And that was after reminding them of this. We had finished our drinks so asked for one on the house due to the delay with our food. This was refused and told we would have to pay for more drinks. Very poor.

I haven’t been to the Wilbury for a long time and was looking forward to returning to a bustling restaurant and wonderful carvery with delicious food. Sadly, this was not our experience on this occasion. We were one of 3, maybe 4 tables yet had to wait for service at the bar. Staff were nowhere to be seen. We had booked and were advised we could sit wherever we liked, so we chose our table, but moved as we found it sticky and unclean. We knew we wanted carvery so we went back to the bar to pay and went straight over to the carvery to wait…and wait and wait and wait. Eventually a chef walked by us and let us know she wouldn’t be long(?!) There were 3 meats on offer and we were happy with the quality and the portion size. Sadly the same couldn’t be said for the vegetables. The roast potato pot had just a few left, they were basically solid and very uninviting, such a shame as this is usually the best bit of a carvery! Basic carrots, some dry looking mash, red cabbage and apple and some green beans, along with cauliflower cheese and the last of some gravy (I had to tip the pot to get the ladle under it) - it just didn’t feel like the usual bountiful and appealing offerings we’ve had in previous visits. All in all, we weren’t happy with the quality, we weren’t checked on at any point of our visit and are unlikely to return any time soon. A big shame, as we’ve always enjoyed the carvery before and having had an email advising of the £6 offer, we assumed it would be very busy , hence booking!

Barman and server brilliant so friendly and helpful!.. Jayden helped with questions about the carvery and the menu and Dave helped us to be seated both very friendly. Food was amazing what a lovely pub/restaurant. Will be returning

The carvery was fantastic as usual. The potatoes were perfectly cooked - nice and crispy and the crackling was divine. Great selection of meats and vegetables. The stuffing is rather dry. Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch.

A great place for our Christmas Dinner. We have been here a few times on Christmas Day but it has been taken over by new management. It was a bit difficult to order and get our wanted time, but everything worked out ok. The food was delicious but our only complaint was that the gravy was too salty. The staff was friendly and helpful and the service was quick and efficient. We will definitely be booking again.

My boyfriend and I came in a few weeks ago and just could not fault the food or service!! Dave was just incredible, stopped at nothing to make us welcome, and happy! An absolute asset to The Wilbury!! The Carvery was gorgeous, and coupled with Mac and Cheese for us was all we needed! Thank you Dave and everyone at The Wilbury, will be back again soon x

Food was great as always but the service was appalling! Had to keep chasing up for the starters and then again for the puddings and hour 1/2:later they finally turned up!

Burgers and fresh made pizzas are incredible

It has always been order and pay on arrival. They were out of poutry on the carvery. If we were told that when we arrived, we would have opted for something else.

Great value for money! Drinks were brought to the table & the staff & manageress were lovely! Looks a bit tired inside but it didn’t distract from how great the meal was. Very attentive & we’ll be back

On Friday 13th carmela disco for special needs came to the wilbury in letchworth all 63 of us for our Christmas dinner It was fantastic the new manager wendy went way beyond help and all her staff were so considerate Food was lovely and they all loved the chocolate fudge cake A huge thankyou Wendy and your team we will definitely be back alison x

Food was ok 5/10 service and atmosphere horrendous. Everyone needs training even the manger. Has so much potential but just not right staff.

Meat was very thinly sliced and portions were small. Vegetables were frozen, not fresh. All self service, no waitress service for drinks or desert orders. Dirty plates left on table, no one cleared away. No, I won't be back!

The Wilbury was a great experience. Wendy and her team fitted 11 of us in at short notice. We had the Sunday roast and it was delicious and value for money. A very relaxed atmosphere and we will certainly return. Thank you.

Been here a few times lately after work had some food and drinks each time with my colleague. Have to say food was quality and drinks are spot on. New management and staff very friendly and helpful. Everytime we’ve been in they remember us chat too us and ensure everything is ok and are needs are met. I must say when Emma and Tracy Ieft I had concerns it would revert back to how it was but I was wrong it’s improved since then and now has become my local to goto. Can’t say anymore but real pleasure to go there now

We had a lovely family meal here today to celebrate a birthday. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. They were more than happy for us to bring our own cake, and they bought it out with candles on. The food was delicious as usual. Will definitely be coming back.

After a year you would have thought that they would learn how to sort out the food but no. Had turkey and beef, not even a full slice of each, the beef was fatty stringy and very thinly cut you couldn't even cut it with a knife, it just ripped apart turkey was just bits that was cut . Stuffing was hard,roast potatoes very over cooked, now I like a crispy roast potatoe but they were too much, the peas some were hard and some were soft . Been a long time since I was last here and will be even longer before I return

So we visited The Wilbury in Letchworth today for the first time in a few months. We were greeted at the door by the new owners Wendy and Dave who were probably THE most accommodating and friendly people we have ever met. Wendy went above and beyond with engaging and helping to calm down my extremely feral children supplying them with goodie bags full of toys and colouring books and stickers etc to keep them entertained x Just by far the most lovely lady - whilst we were getting the children’s food my youngest knocked over an entire drink - we only found out after my daughter told due to Dave being so quick to clean it all up. Every member of staff was smiling, accommodating and just lovely it was by far the most relaxed dining experience we’ve had with our kids - what would have normally been an ‘eat and rush job’ of about 30 minutes ended in us staying for well over an hour, the kids begging to go back and me and my husband actually enjoying a meal out for the first time in years x Thankyou so much Wendy and Dave for making us feel so relaxed and Wendy for being the kindest of people the way you went out of your way for us really was appreciated so very much x Probably worth mentioning that the food was absolutely spot on the best carvery I think we’ve ever had and never have my youngest two ate so much! the husband said the Guinness was better poured than any pub his ever been to - a compliment in itself I can tell you x Honestly just so happy we visited and will definitely be back next week with the rest of my crew x Thankyou all so much 💗

Came here to the pub section for a drink with a friend. Lovely atmosphere, quite busy. Regular customers have great working relationship with staff, knowing them by name. Staff very friendly and helpful. Has a restaurant with lots of options. Would come again.

I’ve been to this pub a few times but the most recent was brilliant. I had forgotten how stunning the food is and the staff are very kind. The manager must be stressed from all the customers as this place is always packed and I’m not surprised, the food is wonderful, I had the carvery and a martini, both were absolutely gorgeous and I couldn’t resist purchasing two more drinks. I cannot recommend this place more 🤩 Excellent service from majority of employees, food quality outstanding and friendly atmosphere. Amazing, definitely going again!!!

After reading mixed reviews we booked for a Sunday Carvery. Great food, all well cooked, top service from a great team. A busy day but they were helpful and present. We will return

Not been for a while as the last experience was bad enough. But thought we would give it a second go. Ordered the carvery to which all I can say was it was edible. Food was either under cooked or burnt not really anything in the middle. Then ordered 2 kids meals which took 45 minutes to come out now bearing in mind you would understand this time frame if it was busy but it genuinely wasn't. When we questioned where the meals were conveniently they were brought straight out. Can't say I'll be going back.

Went for a meal with my family, was served by a lovely lady called becky, who was very friendly and welcoming, she came back made sure we was happy with our food, which was hot and lovely. Brilliant service with a smile and will definitely be back.

2nd time visited. Always fresh carvery with juicy meats and well cooked veggies. Topped up with an amazing deserts - recommen brownie or apple crumble! This becomes our favourite carvery in the area. Highly recommended - ah and low prices too.

Fantastic breakfast today here at the Wilbury!! Bacon was tasty, sausages were lush and the Black pudding was delicious. Manager, Dave (newly appointed) could not be more helpful, making sure we were all looked after and had everything we needed xxx Definitely recommened to family & friends x

Wow, what a difference a year can make. 1st time in a year stepping foot into the Wilbury after bad experiences, food, and staff. We were met by Wendy, who is so lovely & kind when taking our orders. We were then greeted by the wonderful Dave, who was helpful, polite and friendly. The breakfast was super yummy and filling. 💯 will be back for a roast and letting everyone know how lovely it is again. 10 🌟 from us

Dave was very helpful. Went above and beyond to help even though we were close to the finish time he made sure we had everything we needed before packing away ready for the change in menu for lunch. Will be back.

My family and I decided to have lunch here after visiting the Lavender Fields. Having never been there before we were very happy with our lunch. The food was cooked beautifully, the beef was the best I have ever tasted at a carvery. The service was very good and all in all we had a lovely time. The only things that would have been helpful was clearer directions as to how to get your desserts, a slip of paper was given for some of the desserts but not all. Also crayons and colouring for younger children as my 5 year old grandchild started to get bored. Having said that, maybe these things were available, but we didn't see them.

I went here for my birthday lunch with my parents and found the place very quiet and just no life in there. No music no TV like you'd find in a pub. When ordering I found the server very offish and not actually having a service I'd want. The floor was sticky and not nice. Food was great and not expensive

Yes we did turn up late in the day for the breakfast. But the food was not ready. No communication on how long we would have to wait. And very quickly moved the tea and coffe

Good parking near the door for disabled people:) Dwn side :-Tables could do with another white as were sticky:( No soup /soft food options for me as just had teeth 🦷 out!

I had a Full English Breakfast when I was on vacation in the UK. This place is very nice & the staff is very friendly. The food was so delicious.I recommend everyone to visit this place.

Absolutely amazing food! I ordered some lunch from Uber eats. Unfortunately, the app wouldn’t let me make any changes. However, I called and spoke to an absolutely lovely staff member. Resolved my issue straight away. As you can see from the image, it was delicious and very large portion sizes. Would 100% recommend. (Better than Toby carvery by a mile)

Eat here frequently and never have a problem with the carvery, although ordering off the menu has been a let down a few times. Long waits and orders wrong. But for Carvery you can't go wrong. Update ... I visited again today ... Boxing Day ... And the service was very good for both the carvery and the meals off the menu. It was busy but it was not a long wait. Update: service has improved immensely since my previous review.

Really good quality breakfast with lots of variety. All freshly prepared. Everything you could possibly want.
