Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and amazing food. Portions are big and very filling, it was hard to decide what to have because the menu looked so good

Previous owners were great, new owners just as great, good vibes, good sports on the TV, plenty of drink selection. Couldn't recommend the place enough.

14 of us went for a birthday meal. The food was brilliant. We all agreed how good it was. No complaints at all. The service, staff, portions and price were 10/10. I highly recommend this place to anybody.

I got incredibly good attention from the most pleasurable and potential staff. The service was in good time and the meal was of the highest quality. This is the constant feature of my visits to The Wigginton and I therefore highly recommend it.

Wow, as a group of 11, the service and food was amazing. Staff lovely can’t do enough for you. All food came out at same time no waiting for a larger group. Lovely atmosphere in the pub. On. The menu was a new desert cheesecake trifle, this soon strange but well worth trying, it was lovely, nice to try new and different food ideas. Will return x

We held my daughters baby shower here. The staff are amazingly friendly. They did a nice warm buffet as it was February so a little on the chilly outside but on the inside the atmosphere was red hot. The staff could not do enough to help us and the food was amazing

We had a roast dinner each and when it came to our table it was luke warm roasters were cold yorkshire cold.Its s pity as we thought maybe the gravy would change everything but that was luke warm also.

I tried the chicken kebab on the flat bread with fries very tasty and was actually the first to try it as the new menu was launched today xx always great service and meals here would always recommend here

A huge thanks to Sally and the team for a wonderful surprise 50th birthday party for my husband Steve. Sally’s catering was brilliant and definitely took the stress out of the evening with all her help with the arrangements. Really friendly and helpful bar staff too. Booked a table for 8 adults 5 children. Usually very good very dissatisfied there for my son inlaws 40th birthday totally forgot my daughters meal when it came was undercooked ordered a different meal she was eating 40mins after everyone had finished. I had to ask if they would refund her meal so disappointed usually very good went 27th December

Staff Christmas Lunch, friendly welcoming staff. Lunch meals were precooked and served really quickly. Loads of extra veg. Lovely

We hosted a family Christmas Party here 2nd December. Sally, the manager provided a 'HUGE' hot & cold buffet. The food was amazing, very varied and all tastes catered for, with plenty of options for both meat eaters & vegetarians. Staff were very attentive, and couldn't help enough. The pub is warm and cosy, and offered a perfect venue for a festive get together. We cant thank you enough for a fantastic evening. We will definitely be returning!

Well what can I say! Amazing amazing amazing, service was the best Sally is amazing patience polite kind hearted. Especially towards my Nan who is disabled (arthritis in her hands) got her a glass she was able to use! She is an amazing so friendly. We will be coming again very soon 💚

Myself & my husband visited here today for our tea, from the moment we walked in we instantly felt at ease & welcome! The lady who served us was very friendly & helpful. I’m a very fussy person & always want to make changes to my order but this was not a problem and not too much trouble for them! The waitress was just as friendly & was very efficient! The food was amazing!! Great size portions (couldn’t finish all mine!) Reasonably priced too! Will definitely be back again soon! Keep up the great work guys x

On entering The Wigginton waa very clean inside, Staff member who took our drinks order was smiley & polite, then we asked for Menu, both ordered the Fish & Chips, didn't wait too long for it to arrive, it was plated very nicely when came,, which i love, everything was perfection, the beer batter i dont normally eat much as it is always bit soggy inside, this was GORGEOUS my friend actually said "blimey you ate all the batter, that's a first for you !! It really was tasty, the chips were freshly cooked too they were light & fluffy & loved the idea of garden peas on the amuse - bouche spoon Great job done by The Team Thank you all

We went to the Wigginton in Tamworth as a family haven't been there since the refurbishment the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We had six different meals everyone was excellent and good portions, even the desserts were good. We would recommend to everyone we will return thank you for your warm welcome.

Ran in last minute looking to eat, prepared to be told service was over, the chef and bar staff couldn't have been more accommodating. I don't normally like pub chips, these were awesome!

We’ve always been there for family meals over the years but the place went downhill in recent years. We went there today for the first time since it was refurbished in 2021 & it was fantastic.We were a group booking of 12 on a Sunday afternoon & the place was very busy. We all had Sunday lunch, which was one of the best Sunday lunches I’ve ever had. There was a choice of meats, roasts, mash, broccoli, cabbage, parsnips, the lot.The service was excellent, the food was great. Great value for money.I would recommend without a doubt.

Just been to have a mid-week meal at the Wigginton and can highly recommend the Chicken Tikka Masala, was absolutely delicious! Better than a takeaway anyway 😬 Will definitely recommend and compliments to the chef, was piping hot and very tasty!

6 of us went for sunday lunch with 2 of the party being gluten free. food that was substituted for gluten free was excellent . The landlady and staff made sure all our needs were carried out.All meals were tasty and everyone agreed it was an enjoyable experience. service was second to none and very efficient. Overall we will definately go again .Well worth a visit on any day of the week.

Went for Christmas dinner today and the meal was great, staff worked very hard to bring meals and drinks out quickly, however, the tables were far too close together considering the current climate.My parents were really nervous as there were two tables very close to us with kids walking around our table.I really hope people around us didn’t have covid. The tables aren’t usually so close together which is why we booked here but they’d put lots of additional tables to maximise revenue. Understandable but made a few people nervous as another couple said they didn’t feel very safe with people walking round or sat too close either.

We arrived at 17:55 ordered food which eventually arrived 65 minutes later, we had a mixed grill which I’m afraid to say was quite poor for nearly £15 The chips were hot but the rest was nearly cold if you wait over an hour for food I would expect it hot and fresh. Ordered a steak medium rare and it was closer to well done and tough. Will definitely not be returning to this venue

We enjoyed our visit today at Wigginton Tamworth. Food Presentation was lovely, good size portion, Lovely friendly staff, Pleasant environment, Well priced meals, well stocked bar and reasonably priced, and looking forward to try out more of the new menu. We had a lovely family meal here. I had a halloumi salad and my husband had lamb shank. My daughter and fish fingers, chips and beans. The food was delicious, reasonably priced and we had a warm welcome from the staff. We will be coming back!

Came here for a birthday meal of 8 people and the service was brilliant, all 8 meals came out together, piping hot and the presentation was outstanding. All meals were finished and everybody commented how delicious it was. The standards are high, much higher than an average pub I can’t wait to go again! Wow on a warm night when you don’t want to cook. What a fantastic meal we had. The food was absolutely 100% value for money and great taste. Presentation was a compliment to the chief. What a family welcoming place to visit with the friendly and welcoming staff an management team. Food we had was as below and very recommended Starters Garlic loaf Black pudding hash Mains Steak Lasagne Pudding Sticky toffee Carling We will definitely be visiting more often for food and my compliments to the chief

Booked in for Sunday lunch and it was delicious. Broccoli and Stilton soup was amazing as were the breaded mushrooms. We both had beef for the main and it was well presented, very tender with plenty of vegetables on the side. Well worth a visit. Thank you Sally and Team Wigginton

Came here for a birthday lunch. Vegetable jalfrezi and scampi was ordered. Both meals were amazing and plentiful. Presentation was out of this world. Will definitely return for more food( but not today, we are stuffed).

After several years of poor management & below average food, it was great to be back & have a good old Wiggy Sunday Dinner. The staff are great & friendly & the food was excellent. We had a gorgeous Sunday lunch on Father’s Day & the service was great & it wasn’t too expensive either.We’ll definitely be having all our family parties here again.The Wiggy is back!!

Lots of good parking, covid safe ,comfortable friendly atmosphere.Plenty of choice on the menu,I had the 3 meat option and had extra sides of pigs in blankets and cauliflower cheese.All the food was served promptly by very friendly staff.Can't find a negative with food or service hence the score of 5.Will definatly be back again when passing.Lots of outside seating as well.

Second time eating in here and feel this place really deserves a top rating review. First time was with friends and second time family. Sally and the team are so welcoming and friendly. Restaurants lovely with an open fire. FOOD is literally incredible, my extra fussy husband couldn’t get over how well the food is cooked and presented. You can see real passion from the chef beaming from his food, each and every mouthful was delicious. I can highly recommend the Harrisa Lamb, cooked to perfection. We are new to area and paid this lovely pub a visit. Very dog friendly. Service was super friendly. Test and trace in place. We ordered two starters; mussels and mushrooms. Both were amazing. Will definately be coming a regular!

Popped in for lunch last week. Our first visit for a year, and our first visit with the new owners. What a pleasure it was. Hot and tasty food, and service with a smile. I never thought this pub would open again after being run into the ground by the previous management, but it was a delight. Looking forward to the planned refit. We will be back

We decided to check out the pub after hearing that it has new ownersWhat a turn around. Before it felt unwelcoming. In need of a scrub. And the food was vile.Now its friendly. Staff are fast and efficient, the pub itself.. Clean and tidy. More importantly the food was great. Tasty quality ingredients. Good portion size, piping hot. Will definitely be eating there weekly again.

The place has gone downhill a total wast of time and money.Cold food .rude staff stay away the stuffing like pool balls and very unclean place and the food not cooked properly

We went as a family of 10 that booked in advance waited an hour and half for food when it came it was burnt, rock hard unedible. The manager was rude, had no customer service and was very arrogant

Don’t ever ever go here the worst food ever you could of played snooker with the stuffing balls the chicken was proper dead the manager was so rude and doesn’t know customer service what so ever get the cook to come to my house and I will show her how to cook

Wish I would of checked TripAdvisor before going here. Manager rude! Staff rude! Food disgusting! Never ever again! The chips overcooked, the burger deep fried yet nearly raw in the centre, the buns rock hard, bacon barely cooked and as for my child's meal overcooked and greasy again! Id recommend a burger van over this place, might get better service too!

3 of us went today for lunch. Ordered just before 1:30. We waited ages for the food. We were still waiting for the last of the food so I went in to complain at 3pm. One of the pieces of fish was dry as a bone. There wasn't much fish in either of the pieces, it was all batter. Also I was charged £9 for 3 standard cokes. We won't be going back. Oh, and the place was empty, with no other customers. When I went to the bar I had to shout and bang on the bar to get attention. When I complained they just walked off, not caring at all.

16 of us visited for family occasion so we were advised to pre-order before we visited due to volume but when we arrived they had not pre-ordered our food. We then had to re-order which took time and hassle. We then waited 1 hour & 20 minutes for the first three plates of food to arrive but that’s all that arrived. The chef/Manager then visited our table and asked if we were expecting any more meals 10 minutes after the first plates arrived. Yes, 13 to be exact! He then went on to explain that the orders hadn’t made their way from the till to the kitchen. This would mean that we would have to wait for the rest of the meals to be cooked.We felt it was not dealt with professionally at all and we felt a little abandoned whilst he went off to check the till. There was just a complete lack of customer service and the management staff didn’t seem to give two hoots!The quality of the food that did arrive was really poor, it was cold and the chips were dreadful. At that point we decided to leave and receive refunds for all of our food. It took approx. 20 minutes for everyone to get refunds as they couldn’t find most of the orders on the till which we had all been charged.We were so disappointed at the lack of ownership of the issues and at one point we were left stood at the bar for minutes alone. At times the management left two poor young girls behind the bar to deal with complaints and questions. They had explained that they were short staffed and had a large number of orders and only one fire to cook all of the food on. I get that this happens but this could have been explained before we ordered.Other customers were also complaining and asking for refunds and at that point we knew we were not alone with our gripes.My advice would be to avoid this place at all costs for food.

I would never go to this place EVER again!!! 14 of us went we all ordered our food as you normally would, anyway 1 hour and 15 went by and they bought 3 meals out, which were disgusting!!!! Chips were burnt and cold, chicken was shriveled an cold and the gammon was cold too I wouldn't feed it to my dog. Anyway we all started to wonder where the rest of our food was, no one asked us or even questioned it. Finally the manager came over who looked like he'd just gone out to a car boot sale old tracksuit bottoms on jumper on sleeves rolled up, said how many u waiting on we were like 12 meals!!! He scratched he's head an asked the other staff. Apparently the order had been received in the kitchen well on earth did we receive the first three then? The bad food was sent back and we all decided to get refunds which took nearly 35mins at which point other tables had complained and also demanded money back. We had no apology from anyone the only fully working thing was the WIFI!!!! A massive disappointment and a waste of time we all ended up at McDonald's in the end and was treated better!!!!

Really vile arragant managers very rude served us the wrong drinks then the manager argued with me infront of customers been drinking ther 30 yrs now took custom somewhere else as a publican myself this was disgraceful & thankyou as we have gained over there attitude .

After the last dreadful meal we had here, we left it 18 months before visiting again. There are new managers, so things were looking up, or so we thought. 4 meals, and the quality was awful. Chicken breast was dried out and shrivelled and I couldn’t cut into it. It had to be ripped apart. The worst salad made up of lettuce cucumber and green pepper. No colour just green, a bargain for £9. Mixed grills with hard fried eggs and the nastiest sausages you ever tasted. Needless to say we left most of it. And the manager, ignored us when we walked in, looked like he needs a good bath and some new clothing. We will try again when they have left, and judging by how empty the place was for a Saturday night, it won’t be long.

Food is lovely the staff are so friendly and helpful people we met we got on with. the regulars are so welcoming and the night we wentthey had a live local band Wich added to the atmosphere

Visited here for a lunch with elderly father and sister. We sat outside for a while as we had a dog with us. I went in to get a drink and there were no staff at all. I rang the bell twice and then a chap appeared and said he would be With me shortly. The chef (Gav) appeared from outside and spoke to the barman and used bad language. I ordered 3drinks, took 2 of them to a table and when I got back to the bar there was no one there and no drink. I waited for a while then sat down but my father was without a drink. I went back to the bar and a woman appeared from outside and asked if I was being served, I told her there should be a pint behind the bar so she went off to find someone. Meanwhile the chef appeared again and got the drink from behind the bar. We ordered a meal, which was served promptly and was good for a pub meal apart from some of it being cold(but it was only £4.99) so no real complaint about the food. Music was far too loud and luckily one of the locals asked for the racing to be put on the tv so music was turned down. Outside is very run down, benches and tables needed a really good clean. All in all not bad value for money but could have done without the bad language.

Called in a a Wednesday afternoon for a mid day lunch ,went in to the lounge there was no other patrons ,there was a lady behind the bar on the phone ,she totally ignored us did not call for anyone to assist ,although we could hear other staff

We weren't the only people complaining today- they messed up for another family celebrating a birthday as well as Fathers Day!

The food and service was as bad as it can possibly get. Hair was found on one dish and had to be replaced, two other orders failed to turn up at all and one order was sent back as inedible. They didn't have enough beef burgers and so served double kiddie burgers. Also there was no mayonnaise or ketchup. When asked the management said there was none until the next delivery. This is unacceptable. Plus to top it all the Manager was rude and dismissive and should face disciplinary action from the owners "Marston's Inns" We were not the only ones with issues about the food and service on this day, as you can see from other reviews. We for sure will never go to this pub again and I strongly advise everyone to give this pub a wide birth.

Been here a couple of times before but things have changed for the better the couple now running it are so much nicer, no more hungover staff every day, and the place is so much cleaner. We had the fish and chips on the 2 for £10 and a couple of new gins which were recommended by Ellen. we will be back to have some more.

I feel compelled to write this after the disgraceful experience.

Only 1 other table occupied, over 40 mins wait for food which was shocking, deep fried eggs which would have bounced off the wall if thrown!!! Children's meal inedible and arrived 15 mins after everyone else's. even the owner admitted the food was bad!won't be returning

I visited with some friends. Upon entering i saw the place was filthy. We found a table that wasn't too bad. After reviewing the menu we decided what we all wanted. Waiting to be served and there after was a nightmare apart from the actual food. Thr staff looked disgusting. They didn't care, like we were a burden to them for bringing money to their trade. And then to find out that we were served by the managers just topped it all. Hats off to thr chef but please avoid, thr staff are horrible

If you are wanting friendly service with a smile, this is not the place for you. The lady serving was not rude but everything seemed like it was a hassle for her. Food was just ok, beans were cold on the kids plates and items missing off the menu on a Friday afternoon.

Fantastic food tasty new menu great options and very good service the cauliflower buffalo wings are amazing so is the vegan options

Met a colleague at The Wigginton. The lounge was lovely and warm with an open fire creating a very welcoming focal point. Karl the manager made us very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Food was served quickly and it was hot and delicious. Thanks guys!

My friends and I decided to meet up for a reunion of sorts as we hadn't seen each other for around 15 years and as many of us had moved to varying places in the Midlands we thought of an accessible place from all directions and The Wigginton was the only sensible choice as it has easily locatable access from 3 directions.

We went for the all day breakfast on a Saturday lunchtime. It was fairy empty when we got there so the staff were not too busy. They are very friendly and polite here. I paid for 2 regular breakfasts and asked for toast. The breakfasts arrived and were an egg short on each one. There were no hash browns so we had chips instead. When the waiter brought them to the table he said your toast will be with you shortly. It never arrived. The Manager brought it over to us after we had finished the food. He apologised that it was late. I told him that the breakfasts were also an egg short on each one and could I have money back for that and the toast we had paid for. We waited a while and it never materialised so we left. I don’t really care about the money, I just want what I pay for. Shame really, it’s a nice place, just a lack of attention to detail.

Yesterday me and my best friends family decided to go for a carvery, looked up a few places as our normal go to place was full! And gave this one a call... When calling I asked for a reservation for 2pm which they seemed u sure of and I heard them asking in the background if 2pm was ok ? Leading me to believe ‘ great it must be busy if they r unsure if they can fit us in’...busy often means good food! So.... all excited to have a big juicy carvery we pulled up to be shocked at the fact the car park was practically empty... welllll maybe people walk here ? So we walk in to be met but all of about 5 people eating , worried looking staff (one being in their pyjamas behind the bar) very professional! And the place being empty. Gave it the benifit of the doubt though and went ahead and paid for the carverys!.. BIG MISTAKE! So there was a choice of gammon, turkey and beef! I had turkey and asked for some of the skin too.. instantly regretted that decision when the poor bloke couldn’t even cut it with a carving knife ! Anyway, moving on...yorkie and stuffing yes please, roasters looked cremated but ye I’ll try them too. Cauliflower cheese was full so I had a heap of that, mash looked grey but I still gave it a go... he opened up the veg and I nearly laughed ... there was barely anything in there ! Some dried up carrots, peas, sorry looking cabbage and sprouts which were mush... gravied up and sat down to my feast! WOW just wow... it was disgusting! ( the turkey was edible) my friend had the beef which he couldn’t even cut! The Yorkshire was that hard it was a struggle to even bite it, it just snapped like plastic. The mash was tasteless and muddy water like and the roasters must have been deep fried as they were like mush in the middle and just tasted like oil! The cauliflower cheese (which I was most looking forward to ) was so dry and sticky with the odd surprise of an lump of powder... it could well be used as tarmac! It stuck to my teeth and the roof of my mouth... rank! So I thought try the turkey skin... which after seeing him try to cut it left me unsure but hey I gave it a go ... but I failed ! After 2 mins of attempting to cut it I felt like I had taken my 2 year olds cutleys with me and gave my arms a workout ! Stuffing was cold and the veg I think had been there since Christmas!! So all in all... it was the worst decision and worst Sunday carvery I have ever eaten (well tried to eat) Do not bother eating here !!...

Went here for the first time for a carvery. Walked in at 2pm in a Sunday and it was empty which was worrying to start with. This was by far the worst meal we have had ever. The meat was tough and gammon was really salty. The Yorkshire puddings were that hard we thought we may need a dentist trip. The roast potatoes had been fried. The cauliflower cheese tasted like powder and stuck to the top of my mouth. The veg was over done and seemed to have been sat there for a week. The mash was tasteless and dry. The only thing that made it look edible was the gravy which was also rank. Do not go here, you would be mad to consider it!

We met with family for Christmas day lunch - thoroughly enjoyed it - good atmosphere good food and staff worked hard. We have been a few times over the months since the new landlord took over and there has been such an improvement.We will definately go again - keep up the good work.

Didn't get a warm welcome here and that makes a lot of difference. Sat in an empty lounge one week and so opted to go back and try the bar. Great if you like horse racing.

A fantastic day had by all 13 members of our party. Despite some local idiots trying to spoil the day for everyone. The staff worked so hard. They were really friendly even though they were rushed off their feet. Would go back again next year. Thank you for an amazing day

I went to this pub for lunch today and the 3 of us had fish and chips. We waited a long time and when the meals arrived the batter was well done but the fish was raw! Stuppidy we agreed to having three new meals of fish and chips and the second time the fish was really disgusting. It was grey in colour and inedible. I ate the chips as I was hungry but they tasted of dirty oil and the mushy peas were congealed. It was a very nasty experience and I felt really sorry for the man who served us as he was working hard and obviously embarrassed by the state of the food.

Had lunch Saturday with my niece. Whilst the food is cheap, it's obvious you're eating cheap food. Burnt sweet potato fries, and drinks with the burgers and get accused of being an alcoholic because I had my nieces drink. Jeez were in a pub for gods sake! Definitely won't be going again

Disappointed with the quality of the food. The beef was really tough, Yorkshire pudding was dry and very crispy, stuffing was also very dry.

Went frist time today and the last time for food not good menus not clearer in some parts of the menu ran out of some foods and when we got our food it was not good as some chips where raw carvery well what can I say about that no veg no mash and meat cold

'The Wiggy' as it is affectionately known in the area is a lovely local that has had its fair share of ups and downs over the years with changes of management, so please bear in mind when reading other reviews that they may not be an accurate reflection of the current landlord or landlady.

Came here for lunch today and will 100% say I will be attending again soon! The service was absolutely superb even though the pub was fairly busy.... when the food came it was so fresh and tasty, couldn’t of been better! Nice to see the new management is doing so well with this lovely pub once again! Will definitely recommend to my friends, family and whoever fancies a good meal out! Thank you to Beth and Karl! X

I visit regularly to the Wiggy and even more so since the new management have been in! I love the idea of table service (as do my family) and the service and food is a great value for money. I had the chicken balti which was incredible, my mum had the hunters chicken, my dad had fish and chips and my brother had the cottage pie. We all agreed that all our meals were cooked to perfection! The landlady, Beth, looked after us amazingly and so did the rest of the team. The atmosphere is really nice, lots of smiles amongst the staff and all in all just a pleasant environment to which myself and my family are constantly returning to! Keep up the hard work!

Arrived ordered food at the table and drinks, all good, my wife had to order 4 times and ended up with cottage pie with chips on top as they had ran out of spuds.....er theres a supermarket a mile away.......due to the delays the other 2 meals were dry and overdone, no discount given, I could have asked but wanted to see if they were bothered, obviously not, then they closed the kitchen at 8pm, people walking out to go to Riftswood. In short this pub wont last unless they get their finger out and start cooking real food and if they dont get their food delivery try going to Bookers.......its a real shame as I have been going to this pup for over 30 years and it used to be really good

My husband and myself have just been for lunch at The Wigginton - as good as ever!!! Karl and Beth always make their customers very welcome. It's nice to be greeted with a smile. The table service is so much better than having to order at the bar . Keep up the good work.

Just moved to Wigginton and tried the Wigginton for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Ordered three starters, one of which was the Fish and Chips bites for my young daughter. I opened one of the bites up to let it cool down only to find white polyethylene inside. Good job I did because she could have chocked or made her seriously ill. I didn't get charged for the starters and was assured they would be taken off the menu. As you can guess I haven’t been back since so don’t know whether that has happened.

We used to have all our family birthday meals here but the last few managers have been rubbish. The last time we went in February, they didn’t have any steak, chips or much else plus it took ages to get what you didn’t want.

Rang up for a late book in on Father’s Day! They (thank God) could fit us in. They accommodate very well to larger groups and as we were a table of 7 this worked really well for us. I’ve been previously before, for food with friends so knew it was a great choice. However it was great to see table service being applied, the new management have really put a positive twist on this pub! All the staff are friendly and attentive. Me and my family were highly impressed with the level of service especially with such short notice!!
