Nicky is an amazing waitress, my family were really impressed with her professionalism and customer service overall the service was excellent and had a lovely time at this restaurant. We will definitely be returning especially because of Nicky.

Best place to come for a delicious roast. Amazing service from Maya looked after us well as a big table, ensured everything went smoothly. Molly on the bar arrived quickly with our drinks and ensured we had everything we needed. The roast was great and the meat was cooked perfectly we all thoroughly enjoyed our food. The service from all the staff was a lovely thing to see as they all were all extremely polite and always had a smile on their face. Many thanks.

My husband, son and I visited for lunch on Sunday. Two of us had the chicken, one the beef, all were delicious and great sized portions (my teenage son finished mine off!) Beautifully presented. Our waitress Nicky was so friendly, immediately putting us at ease. Really helpful and knowledgeable about the menu, nothing was too much trouble- what an asset she is! We'll be visiting again!

Lovely Sunday roast in a cosy setting. Food was delicious and meats cooked well and appreciated the option to have more gravy. Place can caters for larger groups

The Sunday lunch food was very good as was the vegetarian option but the stand out experience was the customer service., Greeted by Chloe and made to feel not just welcome but valued. Overall a really excellent experience.

Really nice, dog friendly pub. The food was stunning! I had the crispy duck noodle salad, and my boyfriend had the seafood linguine. Both dishes were so fresh and delicious. Sat outside in the sun, but inside looks so pretty, I will have to come back!

I was in for dinner tonight, and asked a question to the waitress about if the steak pie was puff pastry or shortcrust, which I dislike. She went back to the kitchen to "speak to the chef" and came back an assured me it was made with puff pastry, so I ordered it. After waiting for the food, it arrived and it was a thin shortcrust pastry, exactly the kind I dislike. The waiter was disinterested, non apologetic and asked if I wanted anything else, but given I was starving I didn't want to wait. My lovely husband ended up sharing his meal with me and he ate mine. Bill time came, no apology and no money off. Basically paid for a meal I expressly didn't want. Wouldn't recommend.

A group of 20 of us went for lunch, sitting outside in the lovely garden. Service from booking onwards was excellent and food was delicious. There's a lovely walk just over the road, perfect for energetic kids and dogs!

We had the Sunday roast which was lovely. I had the beef sirloin and my partner had the mixed roast and it was the best pub roast I have had in a long while. We will be back!

I had a buttermilk chicken burger. The burger was so sweet for me. However the chicken was nice and crispy.

Think I’ve just had the best pie I’ve ever had, Chicken leek and cheddar, Stunning, All 3 courses from the starter to the dessert was awesome and the staff are lovely, I will try the Sunday roast at some point.

Lovely lunch, service was pretty good too although we did have to ask for a couple of things. Food was fab and lovely setting as always.

The fillet steak sandwich is tasty and the fries freshly made. Did not try the dessert as I had enough but the menu is pretty good. We were a table of 14 and the staff were very friendly and quick to serve. Highly recommend + nice location with plenty of space and parking.

This was first Visit to this lovely local Gastro Pub. The food and service were extremely good along with the Sunday Roast. I had the sirloin and slow roast brisket all perfectly cooked and presented. I will certainly want to eat here again. Highly recommended

We were a large party of 12 we had booked in advance and preorderd our food , food was lovely and waitress knew who exactly had orderd what dish as they had our names on each order .the room we were in was very warm but we have had some exceptional warm weather but we could only open one small window , but we were able to have our desserts outside . The garden is quite large with some lovely large willow trees lots of space .

We’re locals and used to come here a lot but we stopped because of the slow service. I thought I’d give this another go for my birthday but not much had changed. Not the best service - had to ask for a jug of water four times and a bit rude getting seated - but we did complain and was given one of our meals free, although it felt rather reluctant. We won’t be rushing back.

On the main road but country pub feel, Plenty of beer garden space some covered. Food snacks very unusual in a good way! Very Tasty decent portions tapas styles : cheese donuts, beef ribs shorts, hummus, fried dauphinois “chips” yummee! Highly recommend and would go again .

Great meal, only improvement suggestion was that the kids meals were a little too “grown-up” for our children. The sausage and mash had spring onion in the mash and the gravy was quite strongly flavoured. Very nice to the adult palette, less so for a child’s. No complaints though, very nice meal and service. The food is always very good & the service is normally excellent but we felt very hurried after our main meal & the bill was brought to us without us asking for it - our waitress was very rushed & banged our plates & drinks on the table a couple of times

Very nice pub with a decent beer garden, some tables semi covered in ( in case). Very interesting snack menu doesn’t say it but they come out tapas style with two or three of the items ( cheese doughnuts 3 -crispy dauphinois 2 -beef ribs 2 ) all about £5 a serve and quite delicious had some hummus with bread between 3 and probably should have ordered two more! Staff very nice polite helpful and friendly. I recommend and will go again.

Pub was surprisingly busy for a Wednesday lunch but the two staff Matthew and Chloe had it all under control and were very polite and professional. Service was prompt and the food was delicious. I had the steak sandwich and my husband had a burger - both nicely cooked so thanks also to the chefs.

Quintessential roast 😍 The roast beef duo was delectable and our host Silvia was delightful. If you want a great Sunday roast, this is the place.

Excellent lunch at The Wicked Lady. The trio of roasts was superb and all of my step-mother’s intolerances were taken seriously and dealt with diligently by front and back of house. A special mention to Sylvia who made it truly special.

Absolutely scrumdiddly sumptuous food, very lobely waiter 😉 and gorgeous decor. I had the apple and elderflower sherbert and it made me explode with joy. The dirty burger made me scream with excitement. I would rate this experience a delightful 10/10!

I went here with my family and it was fantastic! Service was great and my server, Carole was lovely. She served the food in good time and overall me and my children had a lovely experience. I definitely recommend the Wicked Lady as a nice restaurant to go out to with family or friends, and I was delighted to be served with such kindness yesterday.

Nice spot, good food, but Carole probably the rudest server I have ever encountered. Terse, impolite and unwelcoming in every possible respect. Won’t return.

We came for a Sunday lunch and were served by Jessica and Erin. The food was fantastic, perfect Roast Beef and my partner had the fig roast, which was "exceptional" according to him. We sat in the garden and were really very well taken care of. Thank you to The Wicked Lady Team!

Absoloute gem of a place. The food was outstanding. We sampled every starter and half of the mains and they were all superb! The linguini was outstanding, the best I've had by far, the scallops were cooked to perfection! The staff are super friendly and made the experince that little bit extra special. There is also a really good selection of gins and the coffee and dessert are as good as everything esle. I highly recommend this place.

The service very good, various drinks ales, beer, non alcohol coffee tea and soft drinks etc. Comfy chairs to sit on, out seating to, although I didn't eat there, there seems to be very good menu meat veg, vegetarian menu to I think they do dessert, I seen people eating there, looks like they are happy, the view is spectacular 😀

We really enjoyed our lunch yesterday. Nice to be able to sit outside in the sunshine. Service was good. Only negative was the sourdough underneatth the crab starter was very dry and there was no pickled kohlrabi; otherwise it was very tasty. The duck salad was absolutely delicious, as was my husband's seabass.

Have been before, but not for years. Decided to give it a go again and benefit of the doubt. This was definitely the wrong call! Food service when ordered was very quick but unfortunately they were short staffed on the front of house. Staff seemed a bit surly, likely do to lack of help, and took a while to take order. Additional drinks orders never came. Food was pretty bland and not the freshest (bread with pate stale). Burger was very processed and compacted, and douphonise potatoes not nice. The whole building could do with a good dust and clean and it could be nice. Not sure will give it another chance in the future without a real change happening to the setting...a real shame.

Booked lunch with friends on Saturday for the first time as heard great things about it and the food was beautiful. Had the steak & Malbec pie with chive mash, so tasty, fresh and homemade. The guys were raving about the burger, so much so I didn’t get a bite but it looked delicious! Atmosphere great. Service excellent, attentive and chilled. Will definitely be back thank you!

Worst service and food value. I hadn’t been here for a few years and thought would give it a try. Went with my family and there was no one to greet us when we arrived. When we finally found someone by the bar he walked pass us and didn’t event say hi. When we finally ordered food the “charcuterie board” was just a few slices of salami that I could have bought at the supermarket with some grated cheese on top and some olives. That for £18 was ridiculous. Made me remember why I hadn’t been there in years and why I’m not coming back. Awful service, rude staff and ridiculous prices for the quality and food portions. ------ Dear Jack, In response to your reply, it was not a busy time. It was a Sunday late afternoon and there was barely anyone there. It's very normal in good pubs that there's someone around to greet customers entering, but in this case it wasn't event that. We were the ones approaching the bar and the manager there blanked us and walked passed us without asking if we needed a table. We had to go and find him again to ask him. We did mention re the quality of the food but basically were told this was they way it was, so in response to your question, no, we were not given any solution or alternative.

Model example of how to turn an amazing country pub into squalor. We are local, and the food and service has deteriorated and continues to deteriorate to new levels each time we go. Far less frequent than the past, and the fault is ours to hope the owners might review the situation and put in place measures to improve it. I could use no end of 4 letter words to describe the quality of the food, but let your imagination run wild. If you want aged tesco meals placed in a nice plate and served up for a price that would expected of a top English country pub, this place nails it in spades. I feel sorry for the staff as they are generally gormless, in almost all aspects of their service, and seem to be hired precisely for this trait. The only training they seem to under go is that when things go wrong, simply say sorry and smile. They mean well and are sweet and lovely but the heart of the problem here isnt the staff but the kitchen and owners. When the kitchen dishes out airplane food from the 80s, what hope has anyone got to fend off criticism? The only saving grace for this is get Ramsay in there and get this prime contender on to Ramsay Kitchen Nightmares.

We have had a love hate relationship with this place. I love the location and pub itself but the food and service fluctuates so much with each management group. Clearly we have entered one of their bad patches. This experience was poor. Burger was unimaginative and dry. Chips, not included with the plant burger (why) were overcooked, oily and had black patches throughout. My partners avocado etc salad had no avocado and no explanation. Given avocado was the only protein in the dish and the most expensive part, it was significant by its absence. However it was full of red onion, not listed at all on the dish description and my partner with an IBD can't eat that. So when we told the manager about it she responded, whilst she was doing something else and with total insincerity "sorry about that darlin" and swiftly moved on to something more interesting for her. So if you like poor food, poor service in a nice pub and nice location the Wicked Lady is for you.

We came for the Summer garden party and it was lovely as a large table. Service from Rhiannon was lovely. The bbq food was amazing thank you to the chef alex for the food! Highly recommend to come here !10/10 visit

Had a lovely mid week meal at the wicked lady, the food was great but what really made the experience was the fantastic service we received from Carole, perfectly attentive, and so warm and friendly, she made us feel totally at home. The menu is extensive and well priced. Good range of veggie options and the other dishes looked delicious too (even to a non meat eater!)

Initial service not great, as I had ordered a main and my friend just ordered from starter menu… her food was brought out first, mine was going to be another 15 minutes! Ella then took over and things went more smoothly :) Very warm day and unable to open windows for ventilation.

The food was good, everyone enjoyed their meal however the service was well below expectations. The restaurant didn’t appear to be busy yet it took 20 minutes for someone to come and ask what we would like to drink. They arrived one short and it was 10 more minutes before there was someone available for me to ask where my drink was. No apology was forthcoming. We weren’t asked if we wanted further drinks throughout the evening. We asked for a gluten free menu and was handed an iPad type device and told to look through ourselves. None of the pages would load so I had to go and find someone to help who just handed us another device and said try that one. Only one Gluten free starter available which my daughter doesn’t like (scallops). Food arrived in good time. Nobody came to ask how our food was, we weren’t asked if we wanted deserts or coffee. Nobody came to ask us how our evening had been or if we wanted the bill. Had to get up and go to the till on the way out to ask for the bill. We have eaten here many times, admittedly not for a while, but have always found the service to be excellent in the past. I did not pay the service charge which I nearly always do everywhere I go but on this occasion could find no reason to do so.

I can honestly say - I had the worst burger I ever had anywhere. It was straight out of a packet , cut with a cookie cutter grey and definitely not prime beef. The chips were also package and over cooked and so dry. The urge we so often have to eat the lot, sometimes did not come. They were dry and horrible. It took ages before someone served us and we could get our drinks ( brought he a rose instead of the red I ordered). The food took absolutely ages. I did see immediately that the burger was of very poor super market quality but by then I was so hungry, I lost the will to send it back to kitchen. It would have been hours. I did complain at the end and no I didn’t eat it all. We did get £10 off the entire bill whopey ! And a remark - we are only 3 in tonight. And the chef are not aware they it’s not top quality ( I think they are aware they open a packet of cheap nasty processed food and sell it for £18.75 with pickle ( 2 bits of gurkins out of a glass) - then on top, we waited so long to pay that we walked out. Terrible experience - really gone down hill. Go somewhere else - this is the worst and called it a gastro pub is punching well above ability. The entire pls e looks a bit tired and worn

A lovely family lunch, varied menu. The goat cheese starter is delicious, lemon and herb flavour. The duo of beef roast is sublime, quality yorkshire and veg. Service by Matt was great - friendly and helpful. Loved it!

Absolutely outstanding Sunday lunch today at The Wicked Lady, our first time here & what a first impression it has left us with. My husband & I just went for Sunday roast, no starter or dessert. I had the sirloin of beef which is served medium & my husband had the roast chicken, both served with roast carrot & parsnip. This also came with roast potatoes which were lovely, but my only negative was wish they were roasted a little longer (just my personal preference). Also served with steamed greens & we ordered a cauliflower cheese as an extra, big portion so we shared it, we also asked for extra gravy which the server brought immediately. Something that was also very nice were the houses different flavoured soda’s, I had raspberry one with lots of ice & fresh raspberry floating very tasty. There is a good variety of flavours. We will returning as it was so delicious & I highly recommend you give it a try.

Our server, Molly, was fantastic … engaging and efficient

The bar area was closed off due to redecorating, so everyone had to use the restaurant area. The staff were very accommodating and came to take drinks orders rather than have us queue in front of the one small section of the bar still reachable. The staff were friendly and attentive to the needs of those dining, those drinking and those (like us) who were just there for a drink but decided to make use of the menus and order a couple of small plates to share whilst we drank, tapas style. A very enjoyable first visit; we will definitely be going back.

Myself and my sister had a lovely experience last Sunday 21st April. The food was very nice, though we both would've appreciated some green veg on the plate. This was the only minor flaw, as the food quality was exceptional, as was the atmosphere, but what made it so memorable was the outstanding service by the Team, especially our server Silvia! Nothing was too much trouble, and her friendly, helpful approach makes us want to return very soon!

Staff were welcoming at the bar and at the station where the booking was “checked-in” We were seated at a table that was perfectly adequately sized for my wife, I and three children. Service was a little rushed - it felt like the waitress was trying to turn over the table - but all in all it was fine The food was the reason for the weak overall score. Unfortunately, the prices you are charging is absolutely and utterly the wrong price point for the quality of the food. My wife had a chicken burger - from memory it was around £18 - really poor quality food, poorly executed and I’m sorry to say, £5-7 too expensive for what it was I had the steak pie from the main menu - again, recognising you need to maintain 65% margin on food is fine .. but I’d assume the margin on that product was significantly higher .. at £19 approx, you have to deliver a half decent product but the quality of the product was really poor .. the accompanying mash and gravy were equally poor - I assumed the mash was made from packet ingredients The kids meal was adequate .. kids sausage and mash - one sausage - doesn’t provide good value for money. The kids burger was probably the best of the 5 meals we ordered. The final kids meal we ordered was the grilled chicken strips - adequate and as expected - but the side salad was totally bizarre - it was also 1/4 raw, white onion ! For a kids side salad? Just a weird thing to served Desserts x2 - Brownie / ice cream - all good - as described. Service was rushed From memory the pint of Neck Oil I ordered was again more expensive than the quality of environment warranted (by around 10-15%)

We turned up here without a booking for an early Sunday Lunch. The restaurant was empty, service was prompt and staff were helpful. We had the roast duck and noodle salad and the roast pork belly. both big portions, good quality. would go back. plenty of walking opportunities in the area.
