Just eaten here with friends for the 2 nd time. Had smash burgers loaded fries and popcorn prawns. All the food was so tasty and mouthwatering. Great prices as well. New owners have done a great job, updating the decor inside and out. well worth a visit. Dogs welcome and lovely garden area.

Visited here on a Wednesday. Place was quiet with only a few locals in. Food was good if a little pricy, but the real entertainment was the host, who makes Victor Meldrew a a real beam of light! but it is all an act I think as some of the lines he was coming out with, the locals were loving it! Beer was very good, some of the best i have had

After a very emotional funeral, the wake was held here and what a difference it made. ~The people (owners/staff) were absolutely terrific. The food was delicious and plenty of it. So helpful, kind and thoughtful. A real gem - thanks to all

Have just returned from a week away in Reading Street, Broadstairs. We ate at this pub 6 times! The food is delicious and home cooked. Kate does an amazing job at making us and our two little dogs feel welcome, as do the staff and the locals. I wish I could transport the whole place to be just round the corner to where I live. Also, sending good luck wishes to Louisa for her new job.

This is our local pub...only minutes up the road but unfortunately as we were not ‘locals’ we did not get a warm welcome. We went on a Monday night after celebrating a 100th birthday at a care home nearby and had pre ordered food but everything seemed too much trouble for the staff/owner. We arrived slightly late as we were rounding up the children and older generation, but were ‘told off’ for being behind schedule and this attitude towards us continued for the duration of our stay. There were around 20 of us...bringing a good amount of custom, yet we were made to feel like we were a nuisance. Very unfortunate as we had visitors from all over the country and it did not set a good tone for the area. Food was fine, but the service let everything down. The bell also rang at 9pm for last orders which we weren’t expecting. All in all a negative experience after such a special day for our family with nan/mum turning 100!

This traditional pub is set in the tiny village of Reading Street, near Broadstairs. It takes it's beer very seriously and is a genuine village pub. Always an excellent list of draught beers clearly displayed for all present, including alcohol content. Outsiders are never turned away, but don't visit for wines or games.

We were in the lounge bar and could have a real ale and a peaceful chat. When the food arrived we were very pleased with it - good pub food at a very fair price.

My boyfriend, his family and I visited this pub yesterday for a couple of drinks. The drink's here are fairly cheap and it is only 50p to play pool! You can also play darts for free and the bar staff are very friendly and welcoming! :) A very good pub indeed would definitely recommend a visit for a drink or two! Cannot comment on food as we did not eat or buy anything off the menu whilst we were there. but all in all a cosy and welcoming village pub!

Lovely pub as a pub should be.. Traditional, excellent beers & a wonderful landlady. Recommend the beef sandwich as always perfect. Must be the best pub I've been to. Thanks Kate. Kevin

I have been walking past this pub for years and years. Today, I went in ! On a lovely walk we planned to do a lunch stop as a friend has raved about it. It is an old fashioned traditional pub. A pub as it should be. No screens, music or machines. We were greeted with a warm welcome. They offer a menu and specials board for lunch. The atmoshpere is just something else, it was so charming. My husband ordered the ham egg and chips and my friend and I both had the brie and bacon toastie. Well, the ham looked gorgeous, so fresh and cut off the bone. The chips were hand made. I stole a few. I have to say I am very fussy about chips. I cannot stand frozen ready made stuff which is what you normally get and they taste disgusting, so I never have them. These were the best chips I have ever tasted. Our brie and bacon was wonderful. We had a very enjoyable time and will definately go again. What a find, and nearly on our doorstep. They do meals in the evening and also special pie nights that get booked up straight away. which doesn't surprise me. So I won't be walking past it again ! Highly recommend.

A really nice Sunday roast meal well located in the old town of Margate. The food was great and could not be faulted, but unfortunately the service and atmosphere made this a frustrating experience. We initially booked our table for 2 for 2:15 through OpenTable. Upon arrival, we were asked when we booked it, and we were then told that they might not be able to fit us in even though our booking was in the system and we could see it. However, we were shown to a table to fit 4, which was appreciated. Yet shortly after being served drinks, we were then asked if we could move again as the table was reserved now for another group. This would not have been an issue, but the table we were then taken to was crammed right next to a sofa with children running around, push chairs and other tables very closely packed together. As mentioned, the food was excellent and really cannot fault it at all, but had the food not been great, we would have requested a discount on our bill. Appreciate that Sundays can be busy and chaotic, but the majority of the experience felt chaotic and unenjoyable (except the food).
