We come here after work to chill with a couple of drinks, and it does the trick, lovely friendly place highly recommend

Miserable day made brighter by sausages, mash and peas. Owner went out of her way to feed us. Thanks so much.

Good family pub great staff and great service.

This depressing looking place is run by a control freak who closes off the car park at 8am of a morning to maximise inconvenience to parents dropping off their children at the adjacent kids nursery. Parents are therefore forced to squeeze into a small car park shared with the pet shop or cross a very busy and dangerous road with their children. If this is how they treat families, it is not a place I would recommend. A much better alternative pub is the Drunken Dragon just round the corner.

Absolutely loved it! We stopped on the off chance for some food and I'm so glad we did. We had a beef and a lamb roast. Will be back! So stuffed We couldn't manage a desert. We'll done and see you soon x - went back today!! Still 5 stars x

Went to see The Song Doctors cover band on Saturday night. Very relaxed atmosphere. Staff pleasant.

A perfect village pub. Friendly atmosphere, nice and cosy but certainly doesn't feel crowded and the food was simply superb. What I'd call proper old school food. The liver and bacon was delicious. More than happy to recommend (update) and still the same many months later.

Loved it. Polite and informed service, they tailored a meal to us, good vegan options, sufficient drink selection, and v good prices. Outdoor space is alongside a road but they’ve tried to separate it enough. A spontaneous lunch location but pleasantly surprised.

We had a good experience at the Swan. Friendly with decent pub food and large portions. Dog friendly as well which is always a bonus.

Lovely friendly staff, reasonable prices and great food, bit of a wait but it's cooked to order which meant to food was fresh, lovely sunny day and tons of lovely cars and bikes to watch go by from the sun out front. I've saved it on Google maps and plan to make it my regular for a sunny ride.

The White swan was a really nice place to spend a wet, windy and cold afternoon. Lovely staff and great food I don't think we could have asked for more. I am looking forward to trying it out again in the summer.

We didn't eat or drink here but I would give zero star for how poorly we were treated here. We went to the White Swan yesterday due to good review on google. We were two families with young babies trying to find somewhere local which serves good Sunday roast, after a morning out in Maldon. We didn't book as the lunch meet-up was totally spontaneous so we understood that we might be turned away, but I think it's not unreasonable to ask questions such as "can you squeeze a table for us we just want a quick lunch" or "can we sit outside (considering the tables outside were not booked". Any reasonable business owner could just reply: "Sorry we are fully booked we really cannot serve you today" and I would walk away without any problem. Unfortunately the lady at the bar was incredibly rude, especially when I walked back in (carrying the baby in my arms) and asked her whether we could sit outside and have some food, she replied in an extremely irritated tone: "No!!! We need to COOK the food!!!" as if I was stupid and couldn't understand her. Of course you need to cook the food, and apologise sincerely for not understanding you, as a pub business, unlike many other normal pubs, choose not to serve food on outside tables!

Nice country pub. Good pub grub. Very welcoming - even when we were an hour late due to M25 being partly shut, child-friendly, dog-friendly. Nice outside space and good parking.

The lady who came to serve us outside was bright and cheerful and the beers good. A nice little pitstop en route to our way home. I liked the masks being required signs too. Many thanks.

First time to a pub with the Mrs for a casual pint since March 2020. Met some good friends and had a lovely time. First of many I hope. All well organised and friendly. That said I have been going there for over 40 years. I'll be returning soon.

Wow, today I had lunch at the White Swan. New to the menu was rare breed sausage, mash, and a great Yorkshire pud. Great to add to your menu. Well done Lyn & Kelly Terry

Very quiet on this Thursday lunchtime. Local ales and very cheap good food! Slow cooked lamb shank with 3 veg ,+ spuds - £8. 30 for a plate full! Definitely go again if in area!

Nipped in here after doing a walk over at Danbury. The Adams Ghost Ship pint I had was just as good as if the pub was in Suffolk. They certainly know how to keep beer! The place is a good family pub with no nonsense food and prices. Don't be put off by the look of the car park :-)

Very friendly staff, reasonably priced drinks and delicious food! The place is kept tidy, it's a friendly environment and they hold a great pub quiz every Thursday at 8:30pm. Lots of other themed nights, too. Great chance to chat and make friends with the locals.
