My hubby and I ordered two beers and it was well off, I mentioned it to the bar lady when she came over and she said must be bottom of the barrel. No mention of offering us a different drink, we just got up and left them. Obviously don’t sell much hand pulled beer as was like vinegar and must have been open a while.

Firstly I would like to say I have not tried any other meals so I can only review the homemade curry. What can I say it was the worst curry we have ever tasted. I say curry but a more accurate description would be that of a watery lamb stew or pie filling. It had no flavour whatsoever. What a huge disappointment !I had to give one star as no star was not an option.

We went with another couple to The White Swan and we all agreed that it was absolutely delicious food , all homemade, and the two lovely waitress's that were serving on went above and beyond !! Can’t recommend it enough and we’ll definitely be going back again. Louise Hopwood

My relative who booked the table was told over the phone that the roast dinners here are gluten free. When we attended the waitress told me that all the roast dinners are gluten free. There were no menus so not able to check on there. Anyway I ordered the roast dinner having been told it was gluten free. Howevee I know feel unwell and feel I have been gluten - ed so I'm not convinced the roast dinners are gluten free. My advice would be if you are coeliac or gluten intolerant then not to eat here. The majority of the people I attended with had a nice meal therefore I've given 3 stars.

We were recommended to come here by the folks who ran our B&B. It was convenient location so we gave it a go. They have some cask ales on. The main restaurant is upstairs to the rear of the main pub. Its a large well lit room which seems more casual dining than intimate. We had good friendly service. The food is a mix of traditional favourites with one or two more unusual options. I had the lasagne and I really enjoyed it. I was also pleased with the bill, it seemed very good value.

Very nice staff. Lovely area. Good was hearty but very tasty. The pub seemed to go very quiet after dinner service though, but was a really lovely spot in a lovely village

This was a bit of an afterthought, as we were in Hunmanby looking for something from the Local Boots. As we saw this pub was dog friendly, so in we went, with slight trepidation we ordered food. My better half ordered Lasagne and I the Chicken and Mushroom pie. The service was friendly and very quick. The food was incredible, both mains were obviously made from scratch and tasted like it was. Pub is a little quirky, but no nasty pop and ping

Called in for lunch for the first time since new management took over. Great steak pie but let down by frozen vegetables and oven chips. Disappointed, so won't be going again unless it improves.

Service very poor, it has lost the cosy pub feeling, upstairs restaurant is not a good idea as staff running up and down, why they are not using downstairs room is beyond me.

We as a family stayed in the local area and decided to have our last meal At The White Swan, one criteria we now must consider is being dog friendly. We started in the newly built outdoor seating area until the temperature dropped, then moved into the rear bar area. It was burger night, I and my son had the chicken burger, my husband had a steak and ale pie. The burger meals were very generous with two chicken fillets between the bun, you even got a drink included. The food was very tasty and we finished every morsal. My husband really enjoyed his home made pie with chips and peas. The venue is unussual in layout but the staff were friendly and helpful. It appears a popular venue there were many parties and couples eating when we visited.

We booked a table as this was a highly rated place for a roast dinner near Scarborough. I had called ahead and enquired about vegetarian roast dinner options for my girlfriend. On the phone I was assured there were multiple options and although this technically was the case, neither were necessarily the best accompaniments for a roast (stuffed pepper and stuffed pasta). The service was great and we had a lovely table in a corner and the atmosphere was cozy and great. I ordered the beef roast dinner and my girlfriend ordered the stuffed peppers with a roast. The food came relatively quickly. The selection of vegetables was nice and was a welcomed change to have red cabbage and cheesy leeks although they would have been a bit more generous with the portion size as it was to share between the 2 of us. It would have also been nice to have some optional extras on the menu like a portion of cauliflower cheese. The roast dinner also only came with 2 roast potatoes which were really big but would have preferred 3 or 4 smaller ones. It came with a jug of gravy however it was meat gravy and there was not a vegetarian alternative but luckily my girlfriends stuffed peppers were quite saucy so her dinner wasn't dry. My beef was nice however it was slightly chewy and could have been hotter coming out and was only kept warm by hot gravy. Bit of an irrelevant side note but the loos were really nice! Everything else was really lovely and we did have a nice meal and I appreciate it is a small country pub in Scarborough but if you advertise as vegetarian friendly then I think it needs to follow through fully - for example being advised they don't have a veggie gravy upon ordering the dinner or even having a veggie alternative. I'm sorry to be negative, especially when we did have such a lovely time (hence the 4 stars) bu my girlfriend has been vegetarian for 5 years and situations like these feel very frustrating and easily avoidable if staff are more aware and informed.

Popped in but busy but offered if we came back in 15mins which we did with dog . Did the meal deal with cuppa . Service great as was food . Toilets are upstairs which could be a big problem. Nice to see in and out doors however people just can’t follow instructions 🙈. Nice to sit and eat in a buzzing community. Not sure I could come in summer . You would definitely need to use park and ride as we needed to be very patient to achieve a space . So many places to wander and shop .

2 lounge breakfasts and more than enough, really filling! Super tasty! 3 soft drinks and a pot of tea. Value for money at approx £32. Staff really busy but still couldn't do enough for us.
