The White Swan in Birmingham

Had lunch with my partner and my in laws, served wonderfully by Beth, and Kay, and another lovely young lady. Fabulous squid with gochujang aioli, followed by a stunning pea and asparagus risotto. Everyone else also had excellent food. Many thanks 😊

I went to White Swan and I found the food very good and I'd hardly recommend I had their pork belly it was one of the best I'd ever had.

I came with a large group of people but we were still given top notch service. The food was great and James was really patient with us. I usually come for the Sunday roast but the food every other day is also great.

Me and mum happened to cross The White Swan and popped in to see if we could get a Sunday dinner. The setting and atmosphere was just wonderful. The food was outstanding. We had driven from Leicester to Birmingham and would happily do the drive again to eat at The White Swan. The staff made you feel so welcome with great service. Highly recommend. Came here with my son and daughter and to say the least- we had a blast. From the food to the excellent service to even the atmosphere, all of it was just perfect. Will definitely be a returning customer 10/10 recommending this to my friends.

Such a lovely atmosphere in there, The staff were so lovely and respectful, and they helped my autistic brother out from not getting overwhelmed by being calm and patient with him. 10/10 place would recommend.

Lovely restaurant, great service for Mothers Day. Tasty food and good portion sizes. Overall, good value for money although the drinks are pricey.

Amazing staff, Sandro was very attentive, nothing was too much trouble. Chefs are extremely talented, food flavours complemented each other, the crispy Duck salad kept giving, the warm ginger and carrot slaw, the crunchy noodles and the fresh taste of pineapple ketchup! Ooo well worth the visit, and to top it off with Toffee Crèmè Brûlée, what a surprise, a smooth rich toffee sauce to greet you when you get to the bottom definitely Delicious! 😋

Nice cosy atmosphere, just went in for drinks, been here a few times now and always pleasant. Food is really good and well presented. Definitely reccomend to visit.

Service a bit slow but the food was really good. Went for Sunday lunch, the desserts so tasty as well!

Honestly I was disappointed. I am a celiac and I couldn't view a menu to tell me which things I could eat, I kept checking with the waitress but she didn't know either and the ipad was down. I had to guess on every meal. The service overall was poor, no menus when we sat down, I had to ask for them, the drinks arrived late, the food arrived before the drinks. The food itself was poor too, we ordered a roast dinner and the meat was fatty and overcooked. The waitress also wanted to charge us extra for our cocktails which were delayed and we ordered in place of dessert on the set menu. We found that the tables in front of us were being well attended too but we were forgotten for most of the visit., unless we got up to ask for things. It was really poor service, I won't be back in a hurry.

Lucie and Olivia gave excellent bar service when I visited this evening and the drinks were fantastic. They are a credit to the pub!

Went to the white swan on Sunday, was beautiful food and the lady who I’m assuming is manager was very welcoming. Only issue I had was I had waited a while for my drink to come but it was very busy and they then sorted me a free drink which was lovely. The food was delicious and the vibe was lovely x

Myself and my partner visited the White Swan 24th March 2025, with my son who is autistic and they were so understanding and helpful. The food and service was outstanding and nothing was too much trouble.

Best Sunday roast I have had from a pub in years, had to wait for our food because it was so busy, staff were so nice even offered to get us free drinks because of the wait. The food was well worth the wait

This place is still number one for me. Friendly staff, excellent service, excellent food. Cannot fault it.

Once again we've been super impressed with the food and service at The White Swan with fine dining and a great menu with plenty to choose from.. my wife enjoyed the line caught cod and chips whilst I really enjoyed the pan fried sea bass. I opted for the side dish of garlic butter and chilli prawns washed down with a Devon Red cider. My wife enjoyed a cider followed by a pinot grigio spritzer. Debbs looked after us at our table and a compliment must be paid to Antony the head chef who prepared our amazing food. We finished with a delicious dessert, I had a pannacotta and my wife had a chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream. The ambience on the Saturday was very relaxed and it is a classic country dining experience in the leafy area of Edgbaston with a lovely kept garden and building..

I came in during lunch and, short on time for their lunch set, opted for the steak fillet sandwich—and it was lovely. I appreciated being given the option to choose my steak’s temperature, a detail that speaks well of the restaurant’s commitment to quality. I went for medium rare, and it was cooked to perfection. Although a fillet can sometimes be a bit tough, this one was mostly tender and exceptionally juicy. The dish came with a side of skinny fries that were perfectly crispy on the outside and delightfully fluffy on the inside. Complementing the sandwich was a beef dripping sauce—essentially a rich jus—that was simply amazing. Overall, a very good experience. I’d rate it 9/10 and will definitely return.

Charlotte is an absolute asset to this venue, I had my hen party here in the private space, from the outset, Charlotte was absolutely sensational, her prompt and helpful and friendly emails were so encouraging and she went out of her way as well as her colleagues on Saturday to make the day absolutely fantastic for us, I can not thank them all enough, my day was absolutely fabulous because of them and I already am trying to think of another reason to have another occasion with the white swan. The food was fabulous, the drinks constantly flowing and the team couldn’t have been more amazing if they tried. Beautiful venue with beautiful humans, so very very very grateful!!!

Lovely birthday lunch with my daughter. Great service and well prepared good. We were made very welcome even though we didn't mention the birthday. I thought the battered fish looked 'pale" but it turned out to be the best I've had in a long time!! The batter was ] perfect - airy and greaseless. Perfect. Wonderful white chocolate creme brulee too.

Fabulous evening for dinner. We were served by Sandro who is one of the most attentive members of the hospitality team. Sandro made such an impression on my grandad and made him feel 20 years younger when speaking Italian to him! 100% recommend and will be coming back!

Went for valentines with my husband , we were waited on by Sandro, he looked after us excellently, very happy man couldn’t fault him at all 10/10.

Visited on the 12th February 2025 , for lunch. It was our mother’s birthday and she has dementia. Not only was the food delicious , Sandro was patient and helpful , and we did not feel rushed . We recently visited The White Swan for a Valentines meal. This is the second time we’ve eaten here and we couldn’t recommend the place enough, the Atmosphere is so relaxed yet elegant, the staff are really friendly and attentive and the food was superb. Special Mention to Debs who has been exceptional on all out visits, friendly, professional and along with the other staff members really made us feel welcome and added to our experience, Thank you to all the team. We have already booked back in for Mother’s Day and will no doubt be back for a few visits before then. Ian & Emma

Went there for Valentine's day, really great 3 courses, including a steak that looked and tasted so good that my partner considered giving up being a vegetarian. The waiter Sandro was fantastic, friendly and helpful without being overbearing. Cocktails were lovely too, will definitely go back.

The best place in Harborne to chill out

We chose the White Swan for a small group celebration lunch and thought it was fab! The service was warm, friendly and attentive (especially Sandro) the atmosphere was perfect and the food was great (as usual) Thanks Guys!

Had an amazing dining experience at White Swan! We started with grilled tiger prawns and salt & pepper squid both were fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The highlight of the starters, though, was the scallops, probably the best I’ve had in Birmingham served with a rich, creamy sauce that complemented them beautifully. For mains, my wife chose the 3-cheese pizza, which was indulgent and packed with flavor, while I went for the rotisserie chicken in a spicy honey sauce. The chicken was juicy, tender, and had just the right balance of sweetness and heat. On top of the fantastic food, the service was great, attentive, friendly, and efficient. We had a wonderful time and can’t wait to come back! 5/5 ⭐
