The White House in Luton

I've not experienced the full offerings as yet but what I have deserves the rating. Anymore visits and I'm sure this rating will increase

Good food and one of the cleanest spoons I have visited.

Place could do with some new lighting as in places its Dull and Dark, Tables are sometimes full of plates and glasses tables tend not to get a good wipe over. Some of the staff could do with having some Attitude skills how to talk to customers and have some presentation skills not just look like they have just come of Nappies.

Pleasant but basic food so don't expect too much service could be better too. Bonus is its fairly cheap.

Ramen was awesome! Just need chopsticks and chilli oil. Lovely interior, an oasis away from the high stree

I was in this pub this evening,where, to my and everyone else's surprise, the power suddenly went out, and instead of having a backup plan in place, the staff and bouncers promptly kicked everyone out. It was quite shocking that they didn’t seem prepared for an emergency like this. There was no provision for continuing to serve food or drinks, and customers had no option to purchase refreshments. The lack of lighting or any form of heating added to the discomfort, making the situation even worse. It’s really disappointing to see a place with no contingency plan for such situations, especially when they rely on providing good customer service and hospitality. The staff also locked the front doors and gave a 15 minute warning before everyone got kick out.

Really nice pub and the library adults only snug place upstairs is lovely - very relaxed vibe, warm and cosy.

They have a new item on the menu,sticky korea fried chicken bowl.i had this thinking that sounds good. How wrong I was.they had seemed to have forgotten the stickey sause.so it was just a bowl of chicken nuggets,very bland and tasteless.complained to waiter but got no response.

The service at this weatherspoons is shocking and I'm not talking about ordering from the bar, the table service was not working the whole time there and after eating the plates was not cleared at all I even went to the bar to ask if someone could clear the tables and I was just told someone will come,yet the walked passed our tables for 2 hours with the food left there. And the toilets well it was like there had been a flood water everywhere. Other than that a nice looking place is generally tidy inside.

This is an awful place. I went to have drinks with my friends. There are 9 of us all of us over 18. We had a mix of physical ID and online ID (photos of passports and provisional licenses) as well as YOTI ID. My friends who were of average height and had a beard were allowed entry despite not having any form of ID, me, who is the same age and had 3 forms of online ID available to show was denied entry. I was told it’s a “compliment” as if being denied entry in front of my friends based on being short (5ft) is a compliment. The security guard was extremely discriminatory and sexist. I was allowed entry in April when there was a different security guard, who was far more polite. This was on 13/09/2024 at 21:30pm.

I went tonight to have a drink with friends, I’m 18 and have 3 forms of ID on my phone. One of which is a legitimate ID for working purposes, and I was still refused entry. Simply because of my height. Is this how you treat young people who don’t automatically look 25? I presented id and was refused. Yet he let in someone else who was my age and had digital id, yet not me. This is wildly unfair.

Really nice staff and you feel safer in there than on the streets of Luton town. Popped in to kill time while daughters watched a movie next door did not buy food but saw others get served what looked like decent grub. Security on the door makes the place re assuring that the feral youths that hang around the street are not going to annoy you if in Luton and stayimg at hotels near station this is a good spot to go.

Good service but one of the staff accused my friend of hissing on him and the security asked my friend to leave without listening to what really happened.

Staff are generally amicable and courteous. Can't knock the prices really some pints at less than £2 🍻😶👍 Drink until you're drunk then wobble off peacefully into the night. I'll be back... 😁

There were over 10 tables filled with leftovers, it really was a mess

Food come out fast and hot, severed by Armstrong very polite and helpful, jeremiah bought the food out very friendly and helpful to point out where the condiments are

That Mangalorean Roasted Cauliflower and Spinach Curry was absolutely delicious the best curry I ever have with a nice Leffe blonde beer

Love this pub, great for football supporters. Only problem on last visit, was when we chased up where our food was after waiting 45 minutes, turned out they had lost our order. Fair play to them, they then quickly cooked and produced our food (at least it was very fresh and tasty). ps Got to the match 2 minutes b4 ko!

I’m usually never one to complain, but the security staff in the venue are extremely rude and this isn’t just a one off. They’re the face of the venue when entering and their attitude and manor they stare at customers is appalling. When you ask them a question, they’re extremely rude in their manor. Will not be visiting again, although I’ve been a customer for many years. Bring back the old welcoming security team.

It's a typical weather spoons pub. Great grub, cheap beers, wines and spirits. Has a nice outdoor seating on main town square by clocktower. Can get a few rough types in there. However generally ok. Probably wouldn't take a first date there. Good for sports.

A big spoons in the centre of Luton, just average for everything

Had a meal and drinks there. There was confusion amongst the staff as the kitchen had been renovated. The meal choices were small but quality was good.

This spoon has really good atmospher, good food and drinks are poured proper unlike some other spoons highly recommend

Was rather disappointing to see virtually everything showing as unavailable on the food menu we at least on the app

This is one of my favorite places to be, timing is important. Food is great , service is beautiful and overall it' is A CLASSIC BUP LIFESTYLE 😆😆

Why do I keep coming in here????? The beer is normally alright but the food is rank .... took an hour to get my breakfast today and when it eventually arrived it was stone cold without beans and toast because they had ran out ...... AWFUL

We are big fans of Wetherspoons so as we were staying at the Thistle Express which is very near the restaurant we went there for our usual fish and chips meal. It was a busy Saturday evening bur both the food and the service were satisfactory. We returned 2 weeks later and were disappointed to find that the kitchen was being renovated so no food was available. However we were very surprised to find security guards inside the pub. Never seen that before.

Generic weathspoons experience. Reasonable food, reasonable price, no trouble.

Overall it's a nice pub with great character. Had a brief chat with the manager and she was very charming. Visited as we had a visitor who wanted to go to a local pub and it was a good choice overall. We all chose different meals one of the chicken meals was unavailable due to the kitchen closure the following day, but the mixed grill second choice was nice. This pub also has a very nice outdoor patio space

One of the nicer pubs in Luton - that might say more about Luton than the pub. It's big, the food is well priced and you can generally find a table. Service can be a bit hit and miss compared to other spoons I've visited, particularly when ordering on the app. I've waited 20 minutes for a bottle of beer to be delivered before.

We stopped off here, on our visit to Luton, for a spot of breakfast, nice calm atmosphere, very good service, friendly staff and good food. Recommended.

Morning breakfast is only 3.14 pounds. It is decent in quality.

Rapid service. Toilets aren't a million miles away and one of the cleanest spoons I've been to.

This is my go-to place to spend time with friends or even enjoy some quiet time alone. The atmosphere is calm, relaxed, and has a great vibe. Their morning breakfasts are particularly delightful. I absolutely love this place and rate it 5 out of 5 stars.

The Whitehouse is ok, its a big pub and gets packed on a matchday. Definitely the cheapest pub in town, but that in turn brings a certain clientele some of the time..... The menu is the standard Wetherspoons and is ok, the staff are great and very efficient, especially when ordering from their app.

This is the first time I’m visiting White House Luton along with my friend we had a good time until we went out for a smoke by the time we came back the table was cleared just because of we were not at the table Later on I had spoke to one of the team member I don’t know her name She explained me that I need to tell any one of the team member I can’t see any of the team member moving around us and above that she is no rude and she is not sorry about this situation This is very bad in a hospitality

Staff were better at talking to each other than serving waiting customers. Took ages to clear the table of food plates so I stacked them all. 1 member of the party had to 10 minutes after his food came out for the gravy. Usually have a good experience here but not Friday 21st June. Curry was good but poppadoms floating in oil and rice was solid.

Devoid of any atmosphere. Food can be a bit hit or miss, although the breakfast is usually acceptable, although, sometimes it could be warmer when served. Ales normally ok, if sometimes unimaginative.

Nice pub with horrible clientele (90% on the dole).

When you have an hour to kill before your next bus, this beats waiting in a bus stop, it's very handy to chill and enjoy a drink in

Exactly what you expect from a Wetherspoons, decent food and drinks at a very good price. Plenty of seating inside even when busy as well as a large outdoor, partly covered smoking area. Service is quick especially when using the app to table order. Small amount of TVs for sport on one side of the bar

We waited 20 minutes for the food, after when we received it, was very dry and overcooked. My wife ordered rose wine and she received white wine. Very bad experience

It's a love hate relationship with this place, Sometimes the food is very good and sometimes it absolutely sucks. Very hit or miss, venue needs a good clean. But the new items on the menu are a good addition suchs as the Tommy's margarita.

Currently still waiting for food ordered 1 hour & 30 minutes ago! Yes it is Big weekend but this is not a surprise to anyone in Luton! Staff are lovely and doing their best so I’m going to assume this is down to poor management. Staff on the bar & serving food seem to be way less than should be on shift for such a big weekend.

Today, when we were in line to buy my daily coffee, people noticed someone who ignored the line and went to get his drink. When I asked him why he was not standing in line, he told us that he is a manager here and does not care about us as customers. After I told him to respect yourself, he went to the security man, brought him with him, and verbally assaulted me. He attacked the table where I was sitting. The management of the place must hold him accountable, and I have a full video of him verbally assaulting me. He also put his hands on the table where I was sitting to raise the problem and the bad words he directed at me. Because I think the action he took was very racist and he did not care about the customers..

Absolute shambles service none in existent. Food took over an hour and arrived tepid / cold. Asked to speak to duty manager waited 20 minutes didn't show up. Avoid at all costs.

A lovely place to go for a meet up with friends. Definitely a good ol spot.

Went for large mix grill with hubby for anniversary saw what I thought was a under cooked chicken fillet so I went to the bar and asked for a replacement I got told its OK coz it isn't chicken there is no chicken on mixed grill it was pork loins well sorry it was pink I didn't even finish I left In disbelieve this is not good in any way

Probably the best place in Luton down town to have a pint and pub food. Its a Witherspoon join so you will get the same good quality beer n food Its nicely placed at center square and plenty seats outside for a cold beer in summer.

The food was not as expected comparing to previous reviews, it was not served as described on the menu and seemed to have been made in such a hurry that cooking it was an actual second thought. The ingredients did not seem nor taste fresh and had gone past the stage of having been prepared to earlier in the day to looking like they were left over from previous night or day. The cleanliness was not up to standard. It is wheelchair accessible, but still difficult to travel around in the wheelchair as there have been to many tables cramped in to try and get as many customers as possible.

A decent place to spend quality time with family and friends, of course with some drinks 🍻

I ordered the Tuesday steak deal of "classic sirloin" medium rare. What I got was a very thin steak medium and with a mass of gristle evenly distributed so much of it was inedible. When I mentioned this to the barman he indicated that I was one of several to make a similar complaint. Perhaps Tim Brexiter is now getting his meat from Australia to take advantage of the appalling trade deal. Avoid at all costs

Attended prior to a women’s football event at Kenilworth Road. Lowest prices I saw at a Wetherspoons during 5 days in and around London. Staff worked hard in the face of an unexpected spike in trade. Food acceptably average given the very low price. Lots of choice and “meal deals” including alcohol. The pub was kept clean and tidy. In the unlikely event that I was to travel to Kenilworth Road again I would go back.

Most awful service in Uk. Specially staff called KAI who worked on monday i.e 01/04/2024 at wetherspoon Luton galaxy. The most raciest and rudest staff of the weatherspoon. If manger of this wetherspoon reading this please take strict action against kai who works at bar. He doesn’t know anything but act like boss of this place.

a typical English pub, the smell of beer inside and dirty tables, which is probably a hallmark of such places. However, in Lutin it is probably the most characteristic meeting place. I haven't eaten anything there, but I like the off-local area or the area upstairs where you can drink coffee or wine. On the plus side, security is ensured by security guards on the premises

I have been frequenting this pub for many years and like most other places in luton it’s gone massively down hill from management all the way down to the servants. The customer service is dreadful mainly because they prefer to hire inexperienced and somewhat immature staff who are simply there to get a bit of work experience and a wage to get them through uni they have no passion for the job bar tending or customer service as a whole and it really shows. On a positive note the food generally speaking is pretty good although can be a bit hit and miss. All in all i believe that the people make the place and if the service is bad the establishment is bad. Cheaper booze is the only draw here.

Biggest Wetherspoons I've been in. Nice decor and friendly staff. Mega cheap ale. Worth stopping by for a look-in.

We went on St Patrick's day. It was extremely busy and although the queue was long to order, the food arrived in a timely manner. Good burgers!

The venue is nice, the food is ok, and the prices are affordable. However, regrettably, the bathrooms are dirty and unpleasantly odorous. They should be cleaned more thoroughly and frequently.

Paddy's day in Luton. Went here to get a pint of Guinness to celebrate. Had a 2 year old with us that was eating food. We went to sit outside to have a pint and then order some food but were told the child couldn't eat food on the bench outside. We left and won't be back again. We also told all the family who would not go in for their lunch after that. Stupid rule for babies!

The waiter was so friendly. The place is nice and clean.

Unfortunately spoons employs some very rude young people who have no idea how to speak to people and could well do with being trained in customer service ...

Another large modern feeling spoons, this time just a short walk from Luton station. The pub has quite a bit of outdoor seating in the front but can also be accessed from inside the adjacent mall (step free?) and by a security door that people were using which did not appear to be alarmed at the back. This pub is big enough to have two bars so you should never have to wait too long to get served, even if you don't use the app. There is a small upstairs seating area opposite the bag as you enter which is surrounded by bookshelves. And the loos are on the ground level - woohoo!!! The staff were wonderful as always and the Guinness was superb.

We have ordered medium rare steak and got well done steak and it looked like disgusted schnitzel !!! Absolutely not recommend! This is the end of White House

It's wetherspoons, whats to say.. the alcohol and food is fairly priced, and it's relatively quick. The staff is friendly but I can't say the same about the patrons - but that's just Luton for you.

Absolutely VILE. Partner went into the Male toilets there was Shxx up the walls and doors on the floor looks like someone had squirted a sauce bottle full of Shxx everywhere. There was a cleaners trolley or something in middle and a male staff member in there saying he isn't cleaning fxxk all and walked out. The staff was absolutely shocking walking round chatting on phones outside smoking no customer care at all. Absolutely gone to the bottom of the pile. What a disgrace.
