The White Horse Inn in Huntingdonshire

This has been, and will always be, one of my favorite restaurants. I love coming here for special events! The ambiance is so comfortable and cozy. The Golden Margarita is a highlight for me and I always enjoy whatever entree I decide to order. The cookies are always so tasty too. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a new place to try out!

We planed a dinner of 14 for our dad’s 70th birthday. The food was very good. Our server Kari was amazing! She made the experience. We will be requesting her from now on. It was the perfect celebration.

The food is too expensive for the service to have been that bad. Food quality was comparable to Outback Steakhouse or Texas Roadhouse.

This place was incredible! Food was amazing, the staff was very quick too! The building alone is art. The interior was incredible, the way the wood floor was done was impressive!

White Horse Inn is a local delicacy—even though we’re not locals! My husband and I happily drive 45 minutes just to eat here once a month because we love it that much. The food is consistently amazing—there hasn’t been a dish I didn’t love. The outdoor patio is perfect in the summer, and in the winter, they even have a cozy igloo to keep you warm. And whatever you do, you must order the chocolate chip cookies!!!! They’re warm, gooey and simply delicious.

It was a spectacular experience! Our server Carrie was incredibly attentive and the manager Antoinette highly recommended the pot roast and it didn't disappoint!!! The chocolate cheesecakeon special was also phenomenal! We will be back !!

From the start our experience was horrible. A waitress accidentally spilt a whole tray full of cups of water and soaked my husband. The waitress didn't even say sorry or offer a towel, our server looked at my husband told him it's just water and he said I am soaked and she still didn't offer him anything to attempt to dry off with. Our server had a poor/rude attitude from the start and came across as our table was not wanted. We were part of a larger table, when food was brought to the table multiple meals were wrong, missing items, cold, not cooked properly and we even had a meal missing altogether. The server never came to check and make sure everything was served correctly, one of the members of our table had to hunt her down and when she was advised that multiple things were wrong she gave all of us an attitude and didn't make any attempts to get things fixed. Then came the bill trouble, multiple bills were wrong with items on them that we didn't even order. It took 4 attempts to get our bill corrected with having to deal with horrible attitudes from 2 different servers while trying to get the correct bill. No one from our group will be returning. There are many other restaurants we can eat at where the staff is actually happy to have customers so they make money and way better food.

I had the absolute best experience I think I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Antoneta made me feel very welcomed and the food was delicious. Her energy and service will have me coming back with friends again and again. Highly recommend

Went here for date night and will definitely be back again. Had the spinach artichoke dip and that was great. Main course was filet with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The filet was perfect and the mashed potatoes were the best I’ve ever had. My husband had prime rib and onion rings and that was also fantastic. My kids had the grilled cheese and chips and buttered noodles with fruit. Everything was delicious. Dessert we tried the cookies and brownie. Cookies were great but the brownie might be the best dessert I’ve ever had like a snickers brownie but add Nutella. Soo good.

Had a financial adviser meeting here and the steak dinner was great.

I gave it all 5’s HOWEVER, the accessibility to the upstairs is very poor. They do have a small elevator. that is very poor functioning. We’ve been there a few times now and have got stuck every time. yesterday we were there, and my son was stuck alone in the elevator in a wheelchair unable to do anything for himself in the dark for at least 15 minutes why they tried to figure out how to get the elevator to move. They asked me not to go in there with him which I felt very uncomfortable about. My son was scared to death. He could’ve had a seizure while he was in there alone in the dark. If there was a fire in the building he would have been able To get out. Very upset about this not sure we’ll be able to attend any more banquets that are upstairs. This needs to be addressed immediately. Other than that the food and atmosphere is very good.

I’ve been here a few times now and each time was a 5 star visit. However this specific review is for my igloo experience. Carrie was a phenomenal server. A rockstar! She let us know she was also serving 4 other igloos but was very attentive and had such a great personality. My Horse Breath cocktail was delicious, probably one of my favorite cocktails when going out. And from a previous visit, I knew to save room for dessert and got the bread pudding again. Very good and the bourbon sauce is mouthwatering! I ordered the Turkey Dinner special which was very good, but their pot roast is still my favorite. I also ordered a bowl of French Onion Soup upon a friends recommendation, one of the best French onion soups I’ve had dinning out as it was very flavorful and not heavily salty like other places I’ve been. It was an absolute memorable dinner experience in the Narnia Igloo.

This is one of my favorite places to eat. The food is excellent. The atmosphere is excellent And the wait staff is on point. We actually ate at the bar this time which we've done before and it was a great experience again.

The best food in Metamora! Everything is delicious and the pot roast is the absolute best! The White Horse Inn is our go-to place for birthdays, anniversaries, and special occasions.

I usually find American food restaurants lacking. This place is excellent. Possibly the best American food I’ve ever had. Venison chili and bison meatloaf were excellent. Fairly priced for the quality and size of the orders. Will be back. Was very busy. Going to make a reservation next time.

My friends and I were stuck behind a pole, and it seemed like our presence didn't matter. Bob Evens is way better and will not be coming back here

First time visiting. Food was great. Get the pot roast! Atmosphere is fantastic. Only thing that could gave been better was that the server wasn't able to answer some of our questions. He was very young, and maybe new. But he was still extremely friendly. We will definitely be back!

High end food at medium to high price point. Very good service and very clean. I had the 40 day aged steak for 50.00. I was not that impressed with it. Was good but not great. The carrot cake was very good. I really liked eating dinner on the upper floor.

Visited a few times, unfortunately food has been hit and miss as of late. The staff is friendly and attentive and you cannot beat the beautiful decor. Just wish the food wasn't so hit and miss.

The experience was amazing. We did a late lunch for a girls day. The food and service were great. The portions were good size and worth the price of the meals. We are a couple of horse girls so the decor and atmosphere was so fun for us.

First time here and definitely going again. It was a good hour drive but we were told we have to try the food here. It was absolutely worth the drive. The portions were excellent and worth every penny. Service was relaxed, not overwhelming and there when you wanted something.

A beautiful historic restaurant in the center of Metamora. The Cowboy Mac n Cheese was delicious, a wonderful blend of candied bacon, BBQ pork, noodles, and cheese. The Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich was good, but the seasoning was too heavy and I scraped entire mounds off. The fries were good, child approved. The decor and style of the place was amazing! I walked around several times just to enjoy the building and its decorations. The chocolate chip cookies were a good dessert on the way home! Just make sure you order them in advance, they take some time.

With 2000 reviews there is nothing new to be said that hasn’t been shared already. The food and ambiance are superb! The cost is slightly above normal but in line for the quality and atmosphere. At times the wait staff appears slightly overloaded but not to the point where I can’t get their attention if something is needed. Highly recommended!

Jennifer A. made our lunch spectacular! Excellent service, tried the recommended drink and it was amazing. We tried the shrimp starter, it was tasty and shrimp were tender. Hubby had the filet and Bourbon chocolate pie, I had the pot roast grilled cheese and oatmeal pie. Everything was excellent!

We have been to this restaurant multiple times, including in large groups. Never have we had a bad experience or a bad meal. This last time each person ordered something different from the menu and aside from the pasta dishes being too filling to finish, every person cleared their plates. Our waitress was wonderful and the atmosphere is so beautiful and cozy. It's as if you've stepped straight into a Hallmark movie. If price is something you consider I'd say there is a good range on the menu, you can grab a good meal for just under $20 or an exquisite dinner for up to $50. Don't miss out on the many photo opportunities through the property!

I would say this is a great date destination. Though we had a wait, there were several little shops around you could visit, The food was divine and so delicious. Highly recommend and looking forward to my next meal there Ps... sorry had already taken a bite from my filet when I took the picture, that is how excited I was to taste it

Venison chili is still my favorite after all these years. The food prices are a bit high for having to wait so long just to be seated and eat. Even after reservation a week ahead of time. Seating was below average as well, putting my family near an entire party . Servers were polite and attentive. Thanks Taraiah, Hope I spelled her name right.

Went to dinner here with some friends last night. Well worth the drive if you don’t live around there. Lots of great options on their menu and the atmosphere was great! Gave you that up north in a big old cabin feel. We will absolutely be back to try more stuff.

We were in for dinner last night and Carrie/Trisha were a dream team and took great care of us! Incredibly personable and know the menu. manager Annette was very professional and kind to get us sat as soon as possible. I highly recommend the homemade ice cream and pot roast.

Honestly really good. If you're going, expect to pay quite a bit. You'll probably be finding roadside parking and waiting about half an hour, regardless of what Google tells you, but the shops nearby are worth the visit whilst you wait. Food was great, loved the atmosphere, our waitress was fantastic, and we took home a good amount of food for leftovers. Not something I would be paying for on the regular, but a great place to splurge a bit.

We were guests for a baby shower upstairs and were able to enjoy the beauty and rustic charm. The Christmas decorations were lovely and enhanced White Horse Inn’s beautiful ambiance.

First time visiting the restaurant. Highly recommend getting a reservation set up. I do wish that there was an option to place a reservation online just like the igloo. But they do accept walk ins and we waited less than 45 minutes instead of the 1.5 hour wait first communicated. The food was good but disappointed we couldn't get certain items we saw with the menu online. There was a holiday menu available. The steak and pot roast was good. I don't recommend the pot roast if you don't want double the potatoes. The dish came with mashed potatoes but one of the root vegetables was halved potatoes. The appetizer, drinks, and desserts were good. Service was great. All staff were extremely friendly. The atmosphere was amazing. Enjoyed all the Christmas decorations.

Small sizes for the price never find myself full after eating

Food is really good and pretty close to a homemade taste. Service was great, our waitress made sure our drinks were full. I was impressed when she asked us if it was okay for our 6 year to have a refill on his soda instead of just assuming it was when he asked for it. Atmosphere is cozy and kind of feels like a cabin with hardwood floors and a lit fireplace!

Christmas igloo with family was delightful. Food was delicious. Salmon, carrot cake, bread pudding wonderful.

This place has everything from ambiance, character, great tasty food with may menu choices, super efficient and polite wait staff. The real wood fireplace was going when we arrived for a baby shower in a gorgeous separate room. Everything decorated for the Holidays in a small and quaint village with shops and many people strolling the sidewalks. Put this on your go-to list you won’t be sorry and for sure you’ll be back many times over.

Got there at 4pm and already very busy. 1 hr wait. Just to crowded and loud for liking. Service was good. Hostess not very friendly but wait staff top notch.

"Eat local or die" is not how I would try to gain customers.

Let me first say that this is normally one of my favorite restsurants. Greatxatmosphere, excellent nenu, consistently good food and excellent service. However, I had an infortunate experience last night. This was Wednesday night. We had an early reservation (5pm). We specifically asked to be seated in the cozy main room. Instead, they placed us in a very large upstairs room that had no other diners and was clearly used for events for large groups. This was an early Christmas meal with a dear friend. I enjoy this restaurant enough that at least four or five times a year, I drive well over an hour to eat there. I realize a kitchen could have an off night but this whole experience, from where we were seated to the food was just terribly disappointing. I ordered the pot roast grilled cheese sandwich which I have had many times and is a favorite. My friend ordered the Buffalo meat loaf, which again is always delicious. On this night, neither was remotely enjoyable. Both were very bland in flavor. My sandwich was also lacking in the usual amount of cheese. All in all an extremely disappointing holiday meal.

Eight of us had lunch in an igloo, spent over $500 on food and drink. Food was just OK not worth the price. I don’t know how you can burn a baked potato, but they did.The bartender cut us off after two drinks each saying there was only a half an hour left on our time.

I'm so glad to have experienced a visit to The White Horse Inn! Delicious home cooked food. The tomato soup was outstanding with the homemade croutons (like baby grilled cheese). I recommend a visit to this quaint town and this restaurant for sure!

Today was my first visit to White Horse, even though I have lived 15 minutes from them for over 4 years. Had lunch with a girlfriend and it was absolutely spectacular! Our server was Jen (Jenn) and she was an absolute pleasure to be around. She was spot on with her recommendations and we really enjoyed her presence. My only regret was not visiting sooner!

First time customer and the hostess was so pleasant, and our server was very attentive. The manager Antonett was so personable and kind. Post roast was delicious and key lime pie was to die for! We will definitely be back!!!

Terrible uninspired food, with terrible presentation. My wife's food was cooked beyond recognition, and mine was so undercooked I didn't even finish it. What a shame since the inside is beautiful. The whole menu needs to be revamped to match the prices or lower your prices to match the mediocre food. Not worth it sadly. This place is a missed opportunity!

We recently did the igloo experience here for some of are friends that wanted to try it. Unfortunately, this place has gone way down hill from were it use to be. We waited 30 minutes for are drinks and to order are food. Food arrived 50 minutes later cold and a few orders were wrong. My order came out totally wrong and when I asked the server if she could fix it, she rolled her eyes walked away and came back about 10 minutes later with the extra hamburger patty (didn't take my plate to correct everything wrong just brought out what was missing, I had to correct it myself). Only to have her return 10 minutes later to kick us out because we hit are time limit (2 hour limit but the kick you out after 1 hour 45 minutes). Upon leaving we realized that the deposit that has to be left to reserve the igloo wasn't applied to anyone's bill. Do better Whitehorse!

The White Horse Inn's food is fantastic every time! The place was decorated beautifully for Christmas. Can't wait to go back.

Beautiful historic building with stunning woodwork on the floor. Gorgeous at the holiday with the decorations. Food was fantastic (seasonal specialty salad). The standout was our server Jen, bubbly, enthusiastic, welcoming. Worth the trip for her service, alone. Great afternoon spent with my mom ❤️!
