A beautifull location which I've visit3d on many occasions. Today was a first as it was with regards to a work meeting. We had booked , advising that we needed somewhere with a little Privacy due to the nature of the business we had to discuss. Initially they thought we were there for lunch. Had to clarify with my office waht had been booked. The manager did direct us to the bar area and there was a suitable location found. However asking for sandwiches it seems was a step too far. Asked to speak to the manager , he did advise that he would check with the chef as he was fairly sure they ordered only enough for pr orders. Sounded a tad weird for a hotel to run on that way. Anyway. Off he went. Came back amd said nope. Can't have sandwiches. Chef said there is enough bread. Honestly. Extremely poor. We looked at each other thinking. Really. They don't have sufficient within the kitchen to Russel up sandwiches for 4 people. Hence the one star on this occasion. I will be emailing them directly suggesting they may need to re think their orders. Typjcal of this age we find ourselves in.

Used to love going here for dinner, especially during autumn and Christmas seasons. Loved the ambience and the cosiness. Getting too commercial and expensive now, without improving the guest experience. Same as everywhere else in NI. Why spoil a good thing? Be prepared to see hotel residents crossing your field of vision in towels/swimming gear to get to the new tacky outdoor pool area while you are enjoying your dinner.

Underwhelmed: Starting with the positives, its a nice location if you are staying more than 1 night or if you arrive early you can walk to Helen's bay. The staff were the best thing about the hotel / my stay. the food was also quite nice, if you live close by, it would be a nice place to grab a meal or a drink in the dog friendly pub. The rooms or at least ours felt dated, I get the whole "country pub" style but it just looks old and dirty. No massive issue with the rest of the room in terms of design, but the rooms are not sound proof. You hear people talking next door, you hear every door in the hotel close, we heard the hoover being whacked off every skirting board. The spa is adequate for a 1 night stay. But its very disappointing that the smoking area for a wedding venue is beside the spa. While you relax in the spa if there is a wedding you can hear it so it kills the atmosphere of relaxing in the spa. The also is nothing stopping anyone walking through the spa, while no one is supposed to do it we watched a group of 8 people walk through the spa after breakfast (not challenged by any staff member either), video and stand about chatting. Because the spa isn't the largest, when they start doing day spa offers it will quickly become overcrowded. I wouldn't want to see the spa if all the rooms in the hotel were booked. I get what the Galgorm group were trying to do with this hotel, but the hotel isn't up to par. We had vouchers for our stay but if we hadn't I would have been very disappointed at the price. No one from the hotel has asked for feedback following our stay but I would not recommend this hotel for a stay / spa experience.

We stayed for my partners 30th birthday. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay special even put a birthday card in the room which was a nice touch. The spa was excellent and food was delicious. Breakfast was included which was nice. Disliked - Live music at the bar was fantastic but the £8 price for a pint (Menabrea being £8.60 for a pint of lager) resulted in an almost empty bar. It's a real shame, if they had priced the drink a bit lower I think the bar would have been a really busy and lively atmosphere. And as a result people would probably spend more! At 9:30pm it was only us and another couple. We stayed for one drink as it was over to £20 for a pint and a 250ml glass of wine. Simply could justify paying those prices.

Called for lunch and fell lucky with the 1614 discounted menu. My food (burger) was very tasty. My wife's less so. Liver was served bloody. Referred to staff as the more well done end pieces were edible. Was advised that it would not be charged but this ended up charged in part. 1x 2 course (main & desert), 1x 1 course (part 50%) 2x upgraded drinks and further glass of wine plus a coke zero. £52. Staff very nice and service quick.

After a walk from Bangor Marina the piny of Guinness I shared with Mummy Debra was well earned. Spoiled for choice of where to sit we settled in a comfy yellow arm chair admiring the wooden beams and decor, sun glowing the lead of the window panes. This is a lovely pub. We didn't eat here so cannot comment on the food from experience. However, I saw other customers food. We may have been disappointed had we eaten here as the visual quality and portion size didn't meet what we might expect for the prices. It does look like a nice place to stay as a hotel with spa but with old-world charm rather than the modern spa hotels though.

Visited for afternoon tea for a girlie treat with 3 generations of family. Service was great, really lovely staff, atmosphere was lovely with quirky decor and comfy seating. Price point I felt it was expensive for what we got at £35 per person. For 3 adults sharing it came on one cake stand for all 3 of us and we didn't have anything left, whereas other afternoon teas we have had a box of left over treats to bring home. We had a lovely time but have had nicer afternoon teas for less.

Fabulous Gem of a Hotel, despite its size packs a serious punch with the large players in the Hotel game. Staff - 10/10 Food and Choice - 10/10 SPA and Thermal Suites - 10/10 Bar and Atmosphere- 10/10 From the minute we walked into the hotel the Staff couldnt do enough for us. The lady on reception walked us to our room and showed us around our luxurious upgrade. We had light lunch in the bar followed by 4 hours in the SPA area. Drinks delivered to our area within the thermal suites was quick and efficient. Evening Dinner in the Restaurant was sublime with choices that left our mouths watering. We had a few after drinks in the bar, while being entertained by live music from 9pm onwards. Our room was very comfortable with a 4 poster bed and all the amenities of a Top Class Hotel. Breakfast was off the charts with flavour and choice, again with super friendly staff waiting on our every needs. Well done The Old Inn and all the Staff, we cant wait to return for another unforgetable experience. Brendan and Michelle Collins.

Sad to see the new Crawfordsburn Inn has lost its charm and cosy atmosphere. Have stayed in the hotel and dined many times previously. First visit since new owners and so disappointing. We arrived to an empty restaurant lady checked our reservation and showed us to the first table at the door, we asked please if could sit by window but she said reserved for 6.30pm l asked for another table, this also reserved so we sat down in only option in empty restaurant . Later two other couple arrived placed beside us on the bench, one couple complained and moved table, why squash people so close in empty restaurant. No atmosphere, food the worst of our holiday, poor service and clearly we were an inconvenience to the staff who appeared happier to stand and chat to each other. We left later and the reserved tables remained empty the whole time.

Went for a late Sunday lunch at the Old Inn, Crawfordsburn yesterday for a birthday celebration. We were placed at a table in the main dining room next to the bar. After a few minutes it became apparent that this was not an ideal place to sit as the bar staff were making a noise preparing drinks and the constant shaking of cocktails started to become too much. The service was terrible and after being given some water , we had to wait some time to get our orders taken and then had to get someone's attention to get some drinks ordered. For a place asking £36 for a two course Sunday lunch and £42 for three courses, I was expecting something special. After the food arrived, everyone was incredibly underwhelmed . The lamb ordered was tasty but was served with a spoonful of mash and two small roast potatoes. The roast potatoes were terrible and tasted like they had been cooked a few hours before. The vegetables served as a side included cauliflower, broccoli and carrots covered with some sort of stuffing mix. Everyone was disappointed with the potatoes and my partner left some of her ham as it was too dry. For the prices being charged, we expected more. The kids meal ordered was a burger and chips and comes with a fruit shoot and a choice of two desserts, which costs around £17 and looked and tasted incredibly dry. Overall, compared to good restaurants in Belfast and Bangor which offer a cheaper set menu and far better food, I would not recommend this place too anyone as it is overpriced, underwhelming and not worth the money for what's on offer and will not be going back.

Have always loved this place, but it has been "Galgormed" and is losing its appeal. Service has been really poor the last couple of times, waiting ages for a drink and for your order to be taken. The prices are also getting ridiculous too at £16 for a child's meal.

Faulty Towers Dirty, rip off, money hungry, noisy, awful Hotel. Tasteless Food, rip off wine list. This hotel is trying to get away with something its not! Its not a luxury hotel, its a 2 star pub/B&B. Beware of their THREE day cancellation policy!! Horrible Place without Basil Fawlty. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

I'd the pleasure if staying here for valentines weekend. We had a lovely room, luxurious and comfortable. The spa was great, not crowded like Galgorm, anyway the staff are very attentive and nothing is too much trouble. The restaurant was OK, my opinion is it was just OK. The service was very slow, we'd to ask twice if we could order. That was after waiting 25 minutes from being seated. The staff were nice but very busy. Our bottle of wine never came, and they got our soft drinks wrong. I'll definitely stay again but probably travel to Bangor for dinner.

Small town square coffee shop. Just a black coffee and square of a cookie £5.45! Too much for a very average small cup of coffee and mediocre cookie. It was empty and I understand why.

I cannot rate this place enough, I turned up with 6 staff to have a quick spontaneous lunch & coffee & was made to feel so welcome. The team could not make you feel more welcome & accommodated us at the spare of the moment. Homemade cakes & fresh sandwiches, we all thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Will definitely return. Keep up the good work. Xx

Very disappointing roast dinner on Sunday 26th may for 3 people: it was Luke warm and the lamb was awful no decent slices it was like the end of the joint , when mentioned to the waitress she advised they were short staffed, did take off 20% which worked out £14 which I was still not happy with as didn’t eat even half but left it at that. Never again.
