I visited with family for Saturday lunch. One of our party is diabetic and the staff adjusted dishes to ensure she had a lovely time with no prior warning. Great service and food as always

Amazing food. Been here quite a few times and it never fails to please. The food is second to none. I am vegetarian and my Sunday lunches are always tweaked to my liking. It is never a problem. Never had Sunday lunches like this anywhere else. My friends are meat eaters and can't fault the food. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. It is a great atmosphere and the pub itself is lovely and in a beautiful village. The locals are very friendly too which I don't see in a lot of country pubs. Overall, a great experience.

Came here for Sunday lunch, and both myself and my partner loved it. Food was lovely, and the atmosphere. It's dog friendly too which is a bonus as our little yorkie came with us and also enjoyed it!

I’ve been twice within a few weeks, once for lunch and once for early dinner and I had a beautiful meal both times. Cosy atmosphere, really delicious food and decent portions. The recommended wine was lovely too. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and polite and the manager/owner was fantastic. Will definitely be returning and recommending!

Had a lovely meal with my daughter. Great food, attentive service, good atmosphere and packed on a Thursday evening which is a good sign. This pub has definitely on the rise. Thank you

Visited on a weekday lunchtime. Sat outside as it was sunny. Enjoyed the chicken and bacon sandwich which came with salad and chips. Service was friendly.

Staff were really lovely, the beer garden is beautiful and from what I saw of inside it was nice. Asked about vegan options, there was vegan pasta, pizza or a bean burger. Ordered two bean burgers, only one came out and it was a bacon cheese beef burger. The ‘vegan’ burger was topped with cheese, in what seemed to be a brioche bun, and came with battered onion rings. Also the chips tasted so strongly of fish. I’m not a fussy vegan, but I have an intolerance to dairy which is why I first became vegan and why I order it when I’m out. Had a nice evening with my family and the food has the potential to be so good. I know a lot of chefs don’t like cooking vegetarian food but it could be so easy for them to do a good veggie/vegan option.

The team couldn’t do enough for us yesterday and right from my original enquiry, they totally over-delivered.Nothing was too much trouble and we really couldn’t have asked for a better venue, better staff, better food, better atmosphere or better people to share it with. The weather definitely helped but the planning and thought they had put in made the day just perfect for us Thanks Des, you did us proud!

We’d visited this pub before and knew it was an excellent place to eat….but not this time though, Friday 4th June 2021, I ordered Rib eye steak, what I got, was definitely not a Rib eye steak, it was thin and well done even though I’d asked for medium, it was like a bit of shoe leather, they also had no vinegar, such a shame that this happened, we won’t be visiting here in a hurry again

The family had outstanding meals, the scallops were amazing and my wife's rump steak was cooked perfectly. The pub outside eating area is great and the staff were always there to help.

Don’t bother after 45 minutes we left no drinks, no food after confirmation of a booking on Wednesday 28/4.We turned up today for family birthday brunch. Very excited to see family after such a time apart to celebrate a birthday in the sun.Apparently there was no booking? No apology. Apparently the customers fault?Thanks for ruining my birthday. With it being a busy bank holiday for bookings everywhere we had no option but to return home.Don’t bother going. The landlord was very rude to say the least you don’t even deserve a 1 star rating

Four meals in 3 weeks at The White Horse and they have all been excellent. They also have a good selection of ‘grown up’ alcohol free drinks. Today was a Sunday lunch which was well cooked and accompanied by live music - even better. Just one point this is a country pub, not a fast food joint, so don’t expect your freshly cooked meal in 10 minutes! In return for a small wait you will get a great pint, welcoming atmosphere and a lovely meal.

We had our first visit pub visit since the easing of lockdown. We weren’t disappointed. The beer was excellent, The food was excellent, and the girls serving were outstanding. The way the garden and Marquee are well set out and welcoming.

We arrived after a 1 hour walk across the fields. We had a couple of drinks and ordered a meal each from the waitress. She brought our drinks out after a long wait. We awaited our meal with excitement as the menu seems exquisite. I imagine it would have been if it arrived which it failed to. After chasing the staff which were pleasant it seemed the failing was the management of the staff and a consistent direction of customer service. We realised that the order wasn’t passed to the kitchen and was yet to be started on the basis we had 3 tired and grumpy dogs that we had to walk back home for their dinner we left. The staff were apologetic but this meant nothing as we were present 6 hours with nothing to show for it. We walked an hour home for a kebab after we realised good quality was off the menu. I would reiterate staff isn’t the problem they are helpful it’s management of the staff and consistency that is. EPIC FAIL

Delightful evening at the White Horse for my birthday. Great beer, food and service. If you haven’t already booked your night out under the heaters - why not?

The food is always fantastic and no matter what I order I am always delighted with my meal (the fried chicken is an absolute favourite)! Can’t wait to visit once lockdown is over and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for delicious food with cracking portion sizes at an unreal price!!

We ordered two fish and chips - portions were large and really lovely food. We also ordered two pizzas, which were equally delicious with great toppings. Delivery arrived on time. Price really reasonable - we will be ordering again!

Brilliant quality Mothers Day takeaway. So many vegetables and beautifully cooked. We all had the turkey and lamb which tasted great. Mummy was very pleased with her Sunday lunch. Kids enjoyed it to. Can’t wait for pub to open post Covid so we can eat there again.

During lockdown we have used the takeaway service from The White Horse. The food is always exceptional, the quality is amazing and the quantity is incredible too. Great service from a local pub - they deliver locally on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday which makes it even easier.Full credit to everyone involved, especially the chef.

Visited the White Horse several times and using takeaway whilst in lock-down. Staff could not be more attentive, friendly and efficient. Food quality is always very good and plenty to eat for a great price. Looking forward to visiting again after lock-down.

We had Sunday lunch to our home delivery service honestly it was fantastic. Loads of food and real delicious well done white horse old and would definitely recommend

Great service, great menu and fabulous food. Nothing to much trouble. Sat in front of roaring log fire and had a great relaxing lunch. Can't wait to go back again.

No social distancing or sanitising, only one member of staff and the locals were serving behind the bar, food was slow and when it arrived it was cold, small portion and expensive. Asked for salt and pepper and the waitress just took it from another table without cleaning down. Tables were too close together and a walk in group of 6 were seated on the sofa which wasn’t even half a metre from us. Certainly wont be going back

I have never use this site before, but this pub deserves recognition. Came here not long ago with my family and was greeted politely. The staff are welcoming and the drink selection was fantastic. We will definitely be returning.

Booked a table in advance. Very warm welcome from Kate with excellent service throughout our meal.The chef was very accommodating with our dietary requirements (gluten free) and produced some delicious food.Our steaks were cooked to perfection and generous portions.A selection of local ales are always on offer and overall a highly recommended, freindly place to enjoy a delicious meal with excellent service.

Called in whilst on a Sunday walk and what a find.The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the pub had a great inviting atmosphere.The Sunday roast was delicious and homely and the service was excellent .We will definitely be back to sample more of the menu.

Stopped off with the kids on Friday night and has a lovely burger with fresh hand made chips. Busy with nice people behind the bar and eating and drinking. Good value.

I was delighted by the service I received from the kind waitresses and barmaids. However, to my complete shock, sitting in the ‘cosy’ room in which they call the snug, I caught a horrific sight into the goings-on in the kitchen, of which is joined into the snug area. The language heard was despicable, I could hear a male employee from the bar as well as what I assumed was pots and pans being tossed about.

The atmosphere was good with a roaring log firein the bar. Very friendly service. Ordered the Christmas lunch for 3. The best Christmas lunch we have ever had in any pub ever. The starter, main and pudding, fantastic. Really could not have been better, thank you very much.Already looking forward to next years Christmas lunch.

What a shame, we've had some good meals at the White Horse Old but not this time. The Salmon mousse was smoked salmon slices on creme cheese on a bagel and the haddock fillet was smoked haddock. The poor waitress clearly had had no training and tried hard. We'll just be going for drinks in the future.

I booked a birthday meal for myself and a friend three weeks in advance of our visit. I got a very quick response enquiring if we wanted the Christmas menu. We didn't and I replied as such. On arrival we were informed it was quiz night, there was a party upstairs having Christmas menu and all we could choose from was sausage and chips, sausage and mash or burger and chips, no starter or dessert. I have eaten here well many times, fantastic food, so you can imagine our disappointed response. The website hasn't been changed, original menus are displayed as before. My friend and I left and went elsewhere but obviously this spoilt the night. A little courtesy email about unavailability of full ( or any) menu would have helped us to cancel and book another restaurant for the meal.

From the minute we walk in the door I could not fault the welcome, service and food was amazing. When i live in wales and when we visit our daughter I try and visit the pub for a meal as the verity and quality is amazing love this place can’t wait for my next visit

The owner/landlord is fanstasic in a theatrical sort of way - we went Tuesday, whcih turned out to be a sort of 'all you can eat' Chinese/Indian only evening. Included a drink, all for £13. The owner said he was on his own, but service was quick, the food hot, and atmosphere just fine.

We went to this Public House for our Lunch today I recommend this place the food was plentiful, tasty,and well cooked.The service was excellent the friendly barmaid and waitresses made us really welcome and looked after us while we dined,I will return soon

Against our better judgement our party of six decided to see what this restaurant was like since it is now under new management We had a table booked for 7.30pm. There appeared to be only one other table dining who were seated in the downstairs restaurant. We were seated in the bar area. It doesn’t appear that the upstairs restaurant is open. The evening didn’t start well. They had no sparkling water or Southern Comfort. Just as we were about to get up and leave our starters arrived at just after 9.00pm! They shouldn’t have bothered. Three of us had Humous which was piled onto burnt toast. Two others had antipasti. It looked as though it had been bought from Aldi. It comprised of salami and sone form of processed cheese and chorizo slices. There was a small pan of inedible oil and vinegar which tasted like old chip oil. Not very pleasant. For mains I had seafood linguine which was quite easily the worse I’ve ever been served. It should have contained cod, prawns and mussels. There was no sight of any cod or any other fish for that matter. I counted two small mussels and loads of the smallest prawns I’ve ever seen. It was all served in a bowl full of insipid liquor. Not pleasant. Two others had the pie which looked a bit of a mess. They weren’t impressed with the taste or presentation. It was served dry. They asked for some gravy which arrived 5 mins later. Neither of them took up the offer as it was lumpy and clearly just made with bistro or oxo cubesIn fairness the girls had the rump steak which they said was okay. The mains weren’t served until 9.45 over two hours after our allotted time. The chef popped his head around the corner to ask how things were. Incredibly before any of us could answer he said thank you very much and quickly turned on heels and fledCertainly one to avoid in the future

We called in for lunch. The food was amazing and a great selection of beers and ciders. You certainly get more than enough on your plate. You won’t leave hungry!

Lovely pub and staff, but food is not good potato’s were very gloopy meat was very dry, so unfortunately won’t be going back .

Bastante bien y la comida es pub, sabroso, pero las porciones son muy pequeñas para el precio. Tipo de defrauda un poco, lo cual es una pena.

Another great night at our beautiful local.The fish special of cod with butter and garlic sauce is to die for, could eat that every night. Well done guys

Delighted to be able to recommend this pub as it is only 2 doors away from my grandparents old house where I was born and spent many happy days as a child. Pub has certainly changed since those days!But still has a lovely pub atmosphere with busy bar at the front & tables for food in part of the bar & also snug at the back. Really excellent choice of gluten free food - very unusual to have 9 main courses to choose from. At least one other diner was there for that reason . Food was nice & well presented. Service friendly & efficient. Will definitely be back!

lovely place lovely settings shame about the boss who runs around falling all over the place and has his trousers around his ankles and wears a beanie hat he isnt was not polite ....very rude and maybe he needs to go back to college and learn how to dress himself before he runs a buisness

Had a lovely meal here in our local pub yesterday evening. Six friends all picked different main courses, and everybody enjoyed them so much that we had arguments over who had picked the best choice! I had belly pork, and it was as good as mum makes (although I would never dare to admit it to her!). A great evening had by all! Julian and Claire.

A BIG thank you to Stuart and his team for a great birthday meal for Finlay. Tuesday is pie night but the NEW menu was also available and as usual the food, service and atmosphere was super. Stuart made a big effort with Finlay's cake and even singing Happy Birthday to him.We love our pub and it is always a pleasure to pop in.......well done and once again thank you from the Robson family and Archie xxx
